Stochastic Dilation of Symmetric Completely Positive Semigroups

This is a continuation of the study of the theory of quantum stochastic dilation of completely positive semigroups on a von Neumann or $C^*$ algebra, here with unbounded generators. The additional assumption of symmetry with respect to a semifinite trace allows the use of the Hilbert space techniques, while the covariance gives rise to better handle on domains. An Evans-Hudson flow is obtained, dilating the given semigroup.

Product systems, subproduct systems and dilation theory of completely positive semigroups

This thesis is dedicated to developing a dilation theory for semigroups of completely positive maps. The first part treats two-parameter semigroups, and contains also contributions to dilation theory of product system representations. The second part deals with completely positive semigroups parameterized by quite general semigroups, where the major technical tool introduced is subproduct systems and their representations. In the third part subproduct systems are studied, together with the multivariable operator theory and operator algebras they give rise to.

Dilation of a class of quantum dynamical semigroups with unbounded generator on UHF algebras

Evans-Hudson flows are constructed for a class of quantum dynamical semigroups with unbounded generator on UHF algebras, which appeared in \cite{Ma}. It is shown that these flows are unital and covariant. Ergodicity of the flows for the semigroups associated with partial states is also discussed.

Unitary Dilations of Discrete-Time Quantum-Dynamical Semigroups

We show that the discrete-time evolution of an open quantum system generated by a single quantum channel $T$ can be embedded in the discrete-time evolution of an enlarged closed quantum system, i.e. we construct a unitary dilation of the discrete-time quantum-dynamical semigroup $(T^n)_{n \in \mathbb N_0}$. A Continuity Theorem for Stinespring's Dilation

We show a continuity theorem for Stinespring's dilation: two completely positive maps between arbitrary C*-algebras are close in cb-norm iff we can find corresponding dilations that are close in operator norm. The proof establishes the equivalence of the cb-norm distance and the Bures distance for completely positive maps. We briefly discuss applications to quantum information theory.

Factorization and dilation problems for completely positive maps on von Neumann algebras

We study factorization and dilation properties of Markov maps between von Neumann algebras equipped with normal faithful states, i.e., completely positive unital maps which preserve the given states and also intertwine their automorphism groups. Completely positive dynamical semigroups and quantum resonance theory

Starting form a microscopic system-environment model, we construct a quantum dynamical semigroup for the reduced evolution of the open system. The difference between the true system dynamics and its approximation by the semigroup has the following two properties: It is (linearly) small in the system-environment coupling constant for all times, and it vanishes exponentially quickly in the large time limit. Our approach is based on the quantum dynamical resonance theory.

An operator space analysis of quantum stochastic cocycles is undertaken. These are cocycles with respect to an ampliated CCR flow, adapted to the associated filtration of subspaces, or subalgebras. A characterisation of the generators of quantum stochastic cocycles of completely positive (CP) maps is given in terms of the complete dissipativity (CD) of its form-generator. Covariant Ergodic Quantum Markov Semigroups via Systems of Imprimitivity

We construct relativistic quantum Markov semigroups from covariant completely positive maps. We proceed by generalizing a step in Stinespring's dilation to a general system of imprimitivity and basing it on Poincaré group. Normal completely positive maps on the space of quantum operations

Quantum supermaps are higher-order maps transforming quantum operations into quantum operations.
