A new method of solving third-order ordinary complex differential equations (OCDEs) by generalizing Prelle-Singer. The idea which is a procedure for finding the solution for second-order differential equations in the real domain. We have illustrated the theory with an example. We also introduced a new way of generating second and third motion integrals in the complex domain, which is analog to motion in the real domain from the first integral and demonstrated the procedure for the method mentioned above.

We present an algorithm to solve First Order Ordinary Differential Equations (FOODEs) extending the Prelle-Singer (PS) Method. The usual PS-approach miss many FOODEs presenting Liouvillian functions in the solution (LFOODEs). We point out why and propose an algorithm to solve a large class of these previously unsolved LFOODEs. Although our algorithm does not cover all the LFOODEs, it is an elegant extension mantaining the semi-decision nature of the usual PS-Method.

We present developments of the Hamiltonian approach to problems of the freely decay of isotropic turbulence, and also consider specific applications of the modified Prelle-Singer procedure to isotropic turbulence. In [Solving second order ordinary differential equations by extending the Prelle-Singer method, J. Phys. A: Math.Gen., 34, 3015-3024 (2001)] we defined a function (we called S) associated to a rational second order ordinary differential equation (rational 2ODE) that is linked to the search of an integrating factor. In this work we investigate the relation between these $S$-functions and the Lie symmetries of a rational 2ODE. Based on this relation we can construct a semi-algorithmic method to find the Lie symmetries of a 2ODE even in the case where it presents no Lie point symmetries.
An extension of the ideas of the Prelle-Singer procedure to second order differential equations is proposed. As in the original PS procedure, this version of our method deals with differential equations of the form y''={M(x,y,y')}/{N(x,y,y')}, where M and N are polynomials with coefficients in the field of complex numbers C. The key to our approach is to focus not on the final solution but on the first-order invariants of the equation. Here we present a new approach to deal with first order ordinary differential equations (1ODEs), presenting functions. This method is an alternative to the one we have presented in [1]. In [2], we have establish the theoretical background to deal, in the extended Prelle-Singer approach context, with systems of 1ODEs.
