Recent DESI BAO data combined with CMB and supernova measurements suggest a dynamical dark energy that can cross the phantom divide. We show that introducing a non-minimal coupling $ξχ^2R$ to the running-curvaton framework allows a single field to drive early-universe curvature perturbations and late-time phantom-crossing cosmic acceleration without ghost instabilities. Using MCMC background likelihoods with DESI DR2 BAO, Pantheon+ SNe, and a reduced CMB prior, we constrain the cosmological parameters: $H_0 = 67.88^{+0.53}_{-0.61}\,{\rm km\,s^{-1}\,Mpc^{-1}}$, $Ω_m = 0.3072^{+0.0059}_{-0.0054}$, $w_0 = -0.922^{+0.055}_{-0.063}$, and $w_a = -0.205^{+0.173}_{-0.182}$. Parameter degeneracies leave the coupling constants weakly constrained, highlighting the need for full perturbation-level analysis using CMB spectra and lensing.
We investigate two-field inflationary models in which scalar cosmological pertubations are generated via a spectator field nonminimally coupled to gravity, with the particular emphasis on curvaton scenarios. The principal advantage of these models is in the possibility to tune the spectator spectral index via the nonminimal coupling. Our models naturally yield red spectrum of the adiabatic perturbation demanded by observations. We study how the nonminimal coupling affects the spectrum of the curvature perturbation generated in the curvaton scenarios. In particular we find that for small, negat…
An intriguing hypothesis is that gravity may be non-perturbatively renormalizable via the notion of asymptotic safety. We show that the Higgs sector of the SM minimally coupled to asymptotically safe gravity can generate the observed near scale-invariant spectrum of the Cosmic Microwave Background through the curvaton mechanism. The resulting primordial power spectrum places an upper bound on the Higgs mass, which for finely tuned values of the curvaton parameters, is compatible with the recently released Large Hadron Collider data.
The δN formalism is extended to include the perturbation of the vector field. The latter is quantized in de Sitter space-time and it is found that in general the particle production process of the vector field is anisotropic. This anisotropy is parametrized by introducing two parameters p and q, which are determined by the conformal invariance breaking mechanism. If any of them are non-zero, generated ζis statistically anisotropic. Then the power spectrum of ζand the non-linearity parameter fNL have an angular modulation. This formalism is applied for two vector curvaton models and the end-of-…
We show how to build a curvaton inflationary model motivated by scale-dependent non-Gaussianities of cosmological perturbations. In particular, we study the change of sign in the $f_{NL}$ parameter as a function of the curvaton field value at horizon crossing and identify it with the cosmic microwave background pivot scale. We devise a procedure to recover the curvaton model that provides the desired $f_{NL}$ parameter. We then present a concrete example of $f_{NL}$ and construct its parent model. We study the constraints applied to this model based on considerations taken on $f_{NL}$. We show…
In the standard entropic mechanism adopted in the simple Ekpyrotic models to generate the nearly scale-invariant and Gaussian primordial perturbation, the entropy direction is tachyonically unstable. In this paper, we consider the stable production of the scale-invariant entropy perturbation in the Ekpyrotic universe via non-minimal couplings. In this model the non-minimally coupled massless scalar field serves as a spectator and is stabilized by the introduced non-minimal couplings. It always corresponds to the entropy field during the contraction and with appropriate couplings can obtain a s…
A new model realisation of the vector curvaton paradigm is presented and analysed. The model consists of a single massive Abelian vector field, with a Maxwell type kinetic term. By assuming that the kinetic function and the mass of the vector field are appropriately varying during inflation, it is shown that a scale invariant spectrum of superhorizon perturbations can be generated. These perturbations can contribute to the curvature perturbation of the Universe. If the vector field remains light at the end of inflation it is found that it can generate substantial statistical anisotropy in the …
We investigate non-singular bounce realizations in the framework of ghost-free generalized Galileon cosmology, which furthermore can be free of the anisotropy problem. Considering an Ekpyrotic-like potential we can obtain a total Equation-of-State (EoS) larger than one in the contracting phase, which is necessary for the evolution to be stable against small anisotropic fluctuations. Since such a large EoS forbids the Galileon field to generate the desired form of perturbations, we additionally introduce the curvaton field which can in general produce the observed nearly scale-invariant spectru…
In this paper, we consider rolling tachyon, with steep run-away type of potentials non-minimally coupled to massive neutrino matter. The coupling dynamically builds up at late times as neutrino matter turns non-relativistic. In case of scaling and string inspired potentials, we have shown that non-minimal coupling leads to minimum in the field potential. Given a suitable choice of model parameters, it is shown to give rise to late-time acceleration with the desired equation of state.
We propose a new cosmological framework in which the strength of the gravitational force acted on dark matter at late time can be weaker than that on the standard matter fields without introducing extra gravitational degrees of freedom. The framework integrates dark matter into a type-II minimally modified gravity that was recently proposed as a dark energy mimicker. The idea that makes such a framework possible consists of coupling a dark matter Lagrangian and a cosmological constant to the metric in a canonically transformed frame of general relativity (GR). On imposing a gauge fixing constr…

In this letter we study the behavior of non-minimally coupled Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity theories with the constant-roll condition. Recalling the results of the striking GW170817 event, we demand that the velocity of the gravitational waves is equated to unity in natural units, meaning that $c_T^2=1$. This is a powerful restriction since it leads to a decrease in the degrees of freedom and subsequently reveals a connection between the scalar functions of the theory which presumably have different origins. In this framework, we shall assume that a scalar potential is present and can be extra…
