Let $n\geq m$ be two positive integers, $S_{n,m}=K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,y_1,\ldots,y_m]$ and $I_{n,m}=(x_iy_j\;:\;1\leq i\leq n,1\leq j\leq m)\subset S_{n,m}$ the edge ideal of a complete bipartite graph. Denote $h(n,m)=\operatorname{hdepth}(S_{n,m}/I_{n,m})$. We prove that $h(n,m)\geq \left\lceil \frac{n}{2} \right\rceil$ and the equality holds if $m$ belong to a certain interval centered in $\left\lceil \frac{n} {2} \right\rceil$. Also, we find some tight bounds for $h(n,n)$ and we prove several inequalities between $h(n,m)$ and $h(n,m')$.
Given a commutative local ring $(R,\mathfrak m)$ and an ideal $I$ of $R$, a family of quotients of the Rees algebra $R[It]$ has been recently studied as a unified approach to the Nagata's idealization and the amalgamated duplication and as a way to construct interesting examples, especially integral domains. When $R$ is noetherian of prime characteristic, we compute the Hilbert-Kunz function of the members of this family and, provided that either $I$ is $\mathfrak{m}$-primary or $R$ is regular and F-finite, we also find their Hilbert-Kunz multiplicity. Some consequences and examples are explor…
We compute the Hilbert series of the graded algebra of real regular functions on the symplectic quotient associated to an $\operatorname{SU}_2$-module and give an explicit expression for the first nonzero coefficient of the Laurent expansion of the Hilbert series at $t = 1$. Our expression for the Hilbert series indicates an algorithm to compute it, and we give the output of this algorithm for representations of dimension at most $10$. Along the way, we compute the Hilbert series of the module of covariants of an arbitrary $\operatorname{Sl}_2$- or $\operatorname{SU}_2$-module as well its firs…
We provide the regularity and the Cohen-Macaulay type of binomial edge ideals of Cohen-Macaulay cones, and we show the extremal Betti numbers of some classes of Cohen-Macaulay binomial edge ideals: Cohen-Macaulay bipartite and fan graphs. In addition, we compute the Hilbert-Poincaré series of the binomial edge ideals of some Cohen-Macaulay bipartite graphs.
This work concerns the study of properties of a group of Koszul algebras coming from the toric ideals of a chordal bipartite infinite family of graphs (alternately, these rings may be interpreted as coming from determinants of certain ladder-like structures). We determine a linear system of parameters for each ring and explicitly determine the Hilbert series for the resulting Artinian reduction. As corollaries, we obtain the multiplicity and regularity of the original rings. This work extends results easily derived from lattice theory for a subfamily coming from a two-sided ladder to a family …
