英文摘要:
New time-dependent metric tensors with spherical symmetry satisfying the Einstein-Maxwell equations in space-times with FLRW asymptotic behaviour are derived here for the first time. These geometries describe dynamical charged non-rotating black holes hosted by the perfect fluid of the asymptotic FLRW space-times. Their gravitational sources are the stress-energy tensors formed by a contribution of the perfect fluid and an electromagnetic one due to the Coulomb field produced by the time-dependent black-hole charge in the asymptotic FLRW background. The dynamics of these models is determined by the dynamical mass, which may be an arbitrary function of time, and two arbitrary real-valued parameters. The first one simulates the effect of a cosmological constant as in our $κ$-models we proposed recently [I. I. Cotaescu, Eur. Phys. J. C (2024) 84:819]. The second parameter relates surprisingly the dynamical black hole charge to the cubic root of the mass function. The role of these parameters is investigated analyzing simple examples of dynamical charged black holes in the matter-dominated universe.
In quantum theory of the free Dirac field on spatially flat FLRW spacetimes we introduce a new type of vacuum able to separate the positive and negative frequencies in the rest frames. This is refereed as the rest frame vacuum shoving that this differs from the adiabatic vacuum apart from the Minkowski spacetime where these two vacua coincide.
The quantum electrodynamics (QED) on a spatially flat $(1+3)$-dimensional Friedmann-Lema\^ itre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) spacetime with a Milne-type scale factor is outlined focusing on the amplitudes of the allowed effects in the first order of perturbations. The definition of the transition rates is reconsidered obtaining an appropriate angular behavior of the probability of the pair creation from a photon.
The general formalism of the free Dirac fermions on spatially flat $(1+3)$-dimensional Friedmann-Lema\^ itre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) spacetimes is developed in momentum representation. The mode expansions in terms of the fundamental spinors satisfying the charge conjugation and normalization conditions are used for deriving the structure of the anti-commutator matrix-functions and, implicitly, of the retarded, advanced, and Feynman fermion propagators. The principal result is that the new type of integral representation we proposed recently in the de Sitter case can be applied to the Dirac fer…
The framework of the relativistic quantum mechanics on spatially flat FLRW space-times is considered for deriving the analytical solutions of the Dirac equation in different local charts of these manifolds. Systems of commuting conserved operators are used for determining the fundamental solutions as common eigenspinors giving thus physical meaning to the integration constants related to the eigenvalues of these operators. Since these systems, in general, are incomplete on the FLRW space-times there are integration constants that must be fixed by setting the vacuum either as the traditional ad…
We study the spatially homogeneous relativistic Boltzmann equation for massless particles in an FLRW background with scattering kernels in a certain range of soft and hard potentials. We obtain the future global existence of small solutions in a weighted $L^1\cap L^\infty$ space.
The kinematics on spatially flat FLRW space-times is presented for the first time in co-moving local charts with physical coordinates, i. e. the cosmic time and Painlev\' e-type Cartesian space coordinates. It is shown that there exists a conserved momentum which determines the form of the covariant four-momentum on geodesics in terms of physical coordinates. Moreover, with the help of the conserved momentum one identifies the peculiar momentum separating the peculiar and recessional motions without ambiguities. It is shown that the energy and peculiar momentum satisfy the mass-shell condition…
We propose a method of projecting the quantum states from a state space of a given geometry into another state space generated by a different geometry, taking care on the correct normalization which is crucial in interpreting the quantum theory. Thanks to this method we can define on any spatially flat FLRW spacetime states in which genuine Minkowskian parameters are measured. We use these Minkowskian states for separating the frequencies in the rest frames of the massive scalar particles defining thus the scalar rest frame vacuum. We show that this vacuum is stable on the de Sitter expanding …
Within the framework of adiabatic regularization, we present a simple formalism to calculate number density and renormalized energy-momentum density of spin 1/2 particles in spatially flat FLRW spacetimes using an appropriate WKB ansatz for the adiabatic expansion for the field modes. The conformal and axial anomalies thus found are in exact agreement with those obtained from other renormalization methods. This formalism can be considered as an appropriate extension of the techniques originally introduced for scalar fields, applicable to fermions in curved space.
Future stability of expanding spatially homogeneous FLRW solutions of the spherically symmetric Einstein--massless Vlasov system with spatial topology $\mathbb{R}^3$
New spherical scalar modes on the expanding part of Sitter spacetime, eigenfunctions of a conserved Hamiltonian-like operator are found by solving the Klein-Gordon equation in the appropriate coordinate chart, with the help of a time evolution picture technique specially developed for spatially flat FLRW charts. Transition coefficients are computed between these modes and the rest of the scalar spherical and plane wave modes, either momentum or energy eigenfunctions on the spatially flat FLRW chart.
We present a dynamical analysis of the (classical) spatially flat and negative curved Friedmann-Lameitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) universes evolving, (by assumption) close to the thermodynamic equilibrium, in presence of a particles creation process, described by means of a realiable phenomenological approach, based on the application to the comoving volume (i. e. spatial volume of unit comoving coordinates) of the theory for open thermodynamic systems. In particular we show how, since the particles creation phenomenon induces a negative pressure term, then the choice of a well-grounded ansatz …
We study a Friedmann-Lema\^ıtre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) space-time in the theory of $f(Q)$-gravity, where $Q$ denotes the non-metricity scalar. It has been previously shown in the literature, that there exist four distinct families of connections, which are compatible with the isometries of the FLRW metric; three for the spatially flat case and one when the spatial curvature is present. In the spatially flat case, one connection is dynamically irrelevant and yields the dynamics of the coincident gauge in the Cartesian coordinates. For this, we obtain the general solution of an arbitrary $f(Q)$…
This work was mainly driven by the desire to explore, to what extent embedding some given geometry in a higher dimensional flat one is useful for understanding the causal structure of classical fields traveling in the former, in terms of that in the latter. We point out, in the 4D spatially flat FLRW universe, that the causal structure of transverse-traceless (TT) gravitational waves can be elucidated by first reducing the problem to a 2D Minkowski wave equation with a time dependent potential, where the relevant Green's function is pure tail -- waves produced by a physical source propagate st…
The present matter density of the Universe, while highly inhomogeneous on small scales, displays approximate homogeneity on large scales. We propose that whereas it is justified to use the Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) line element (which describes an exactly homogeneous and isotropic universe) as a template to construct luminosity distances in order to compare observations with theory, the evolution of the scale factor in such a construction must be governed not by the standard Einstein equations for the FLRW metric, but by the modified Friedmann equations derived by Buchert [7, …
We investigate the asymptotia of decelerating and spatially flat FLRW spacetimes at future null infinity. We find that the asymptotic algebra of diffeomorphisms can be enlarged to the recently discovered Weyl-BMS algebra for asymptotically flat spacetimes by relaxing the boundary conditions. This algebra remains undeformed in the cosmological setting contrary to previous extensions of the BMS algebra. We then study the equations of motion for asymptotically FLRW spacetimes with finite fluxes and show that the dynamics is fully constrained by the energy-momentum tensor of the source. Finally, w…
We prove a stable singularity formation result for solutions to the Einstein-scalar field and Einstein-stiff fluid systems. Our results apply to small perturbations of the spatially flat FLRW solution with topology $(0,\infty) \times \mathbb{T}^3.$ The FLRW solution models a spatially uniform scalar-field/stiff fluid evolving in a spacetime that expands towards the future and that has a "Big Bang" singularity at $\lbrace 0 \rbrace \times \mathbb{T}^3,$ where its curvature blows up. We place data on a Cauchy hypersurface $Σ_1'$ that are close to the FLRW data induced on $\lbrace 1 \rbrace \time…
McVittie spacetimes embed the vacuum Schwarzschild(-(anti) de Sitter) spacetime in an isotropic FLRW background universe. We study the global structure of McVittie spacetimes with spatially non-flat FLRW backgrounds. This requires the extension of the definition of such spacetimes, previously given only for the flat and open cases, to the closed case. We revisit this definition and show how it gives rise to a unique spacetime (given the FLRW background, the mass parameter $M$ and the cosmological constant $Λ$) in the open and flat cases. In the closed case, an additional free function of the c…
In this paper, we investigate the asymptotic structure of gauge theories in decelerating and spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker universes. Firstly, we thoroughly explore the asymptotic symmetries of electrodynamics in this background, which reveals a major inconsistency already present in the flat case. Taking advantage of this treatment, we derive the associated memory effects, discussing their regime of validity and differences with respect to their flat counterparts. Next, we extend our analysis to non-Abelian Yang-Mills, coupling it dynamically and simultaneously to a Dirac…
In this paper, we extend the treatment of asymptotically decelerating spatially flat FLRW spacetimes initiated in [1]. We show that a certain class of those metrics is ruled by the asymptotic algebra $\mathfrak{b}\mathfrak{m}\mathfrak{s}_s$, which belongs to a one-parameter family of deformations of $\mathfrak{b}\mathfrak{m}\mathfrak{s}$. Furthermore, we enlarge our ansatz to include $\text{Diff}(S^2)$ transformations whose asymptotic algebra $\mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{b}\mathfrak{m}\mathfrak{s}_s$ is a one parameter deformation of $\mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{b}\mathfrak{m}\mathfrak{s}$. Therefore, the…
In the context of theories of Kaluza-Klein type, with a large extra dimension, we study self-similar cosmological models in 5D that are homogeneous, anisotropic and spatially flat. The "ladder" to go between the physics in 5D and 4D is provided by Campbell-Maagard's embedding theorems. We show that the 5-dimensional field equations $R_{AB} = 0$ determine the form of the similarity variable. There are three different possibilities: homothetic, conformal and "wave-like" solutions in 5D. We derive the most general homothetic and conformal solutions to the 5D field equations. They require the extr…
Geodesics are used in a wide array of applications in cosmology and astrophysics. However, it is not a trivial task to efficiently calculate exact geodesic distances in an arbitrary spacetime. We show that in spatially flat (3+1)-dimensional Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) spacetimes, it is possible to integrate the second-order geodesic differential equations, and derive a general method for finding both timelike and spacelike distances given initial-value or boundary-value constraints. In flat spacetimes with either dark energy or matter, whether dust, radiation, or a stiff fluid,…
The "memory effect" is the permanent change in the relative separation of test particles resulting from the passage of gravitational radiation. We investigate the memory effect for a general, spatially flat FLRW cosmology by considering the radiation associated with emission events involving particle-like sources. We find that if the resulting perturbation is decomposed into scalar, vector, and tensor parts, only the tensor part contributes to memory. Furthermore, the tensor contribution to memory depends only on the cosmological scale factor at the source and observation events, not on the de…
In this paper, we consider spatially flat FLRW cosmological models in two contexts in an attempt to derive a set of conditions that characterize when such models exhibit oscillatory behaviour. In the first case, we consider a spatially flat FLRW model with only a minimally-coupled scalar field, described by a nonnegative scalar field potential. In the second case, we extended this model to include barotropic matter. We show that for the case of a positive cosmological constant, spatial flatness, and barotropic matter, oscillatory solutions are certainly possible. However, these solutions do no…
In this paper we present the techniques for computing cosmological bounces in polynomial $f(R)$ theories, whose order is more than two, for spatially flat FLRW spacetime. In these cases the conformally connected Einstein frame shows up multiple scalar potentials predicting various possibilities of cosmological evolution in the Jordan frame where the $f(R)$ theory lives. We present a reasonable way in which one can associate the various possible potentials in the Einstein frame, for cubic $f(R)$ gravity, to the cosmological development in the Jordan frame. The issue concerning the energy condit…
We investigate the dynamics of the spatially flat universes submitted to isotropic tidal forces and adiabatic expansion under Einstein's equations. Surprisingly, the tendency to a high Hubble anisotropy at late times starts to appear as far as we assume the strong energy condition, a characteristic which becomes dominant in the radiation era and even more stringent under a stiff matter regime. We introduce the parameter b which measures the relative change in the magnitudes of the Hubble anisotropy and the scale factor and use it to show that the anisotropies must be kept small as long as we a…
It is shown that Milne models (a subclass of FLRW spacetimes with negative spatial curvature) are nonlinearly stable in the set of solutions to the Einstein-Vlasov-Maxwell system, describing universes with ensembles of collisionless self-gravitating, charged particles. The system contains various slowly decaying borderline terms in the mutually coupled equations describing the propagation of particles and Maxwell fields. The effects of those terms are controlled using a suitable hierarchy based on the energy density of the matter fields.
We investigate a corner of the Bianchi models that has not received much attention: "extended FLRW models" (eFLRW) defined as a cosmological model with underlying anisotropic Bianchi geometry that nevertheless expands isotropically and can be mapped onto a reference FLRW model with the same expansion history. In order to investigate the stability and naturalness of such models in a dynamical systems context, we consider spatially homogeneous models that contain a massless scalar field $φ$ and a non-tilted perfect fluid obeying an equation of state $p=wρ$. Remarkably, we find that matter anisot…
We construct the quantum mechanical evolution operator in the Functional Schrodinger picture - the kernel - for a scalar field in spatially homogeneous FLRW spacetimes when the field is a) free and b) coupled to a spacetime dependent source term. The essential element in the construction is the causal propagator, linked to the commutator of two Heisenberg picture scalar fields. We show that the kernels can be expressed solely in terms of the causal propagator and derivatives of the causal propagator. Furthermore, we show that our kernel reveals the standard light cone structure in FLRW spaceti…
Recently it has been noted by Di Valentino, Melchiorri and Silk (2019) that the enhanced lensing signal relative to that expected in the spatially flat $Λ$CDM model poses a possible crisis for the Friedmann-Lema\^ıtre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) class of models usually used to interpret cosmological data. The 'crisis' amounts to inconsistencies between cosmological datasets arising when the FLRW curvature parameter $Ω_{k0}$ is determined from the data rather than constrained to be zero a priori. Moreover, the already substantial discrepancy between the Hubble parameter as determined by Planck and …
We study the dissipation of oscillating scalar backgrounds in a spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker universe using non-equilibrium quantum field theory. To be concrete, a $Z_2$-symmetric two-scalar model with quartic interactions is used. For quasi-harmonic oscillations, we adopt the multi-scale analysis to obtain analytical approximate expressions for the evolution of the scalar background in terms of the retarded self-energy and retarded proper four-vertex function. Different from the case in flat spacetime, we find that in an expanding universe the condensate decay in this mo…

In a recent series of papers Endean examines the properties of spatially homogeneous and isotropic (FLRW) cosmological models filled with dust in the ``conformally flat spacetime presentation of cosmology'' (CFS cosmology). This author claims it is possible to resolve a certain number of the difficulties the standard model exhibits when confronted to observations, if the theoretical predictions are obtained in the special framework of CFS cosmology. As a by-product of his analysis Endean claims that no initial (big-bang) nor final (big-crunch) singularities occur in the closed FLRW model. In t…
The two-parameter charged McVittie solution of the Einstein equations is revisited and its apparent horizons are discussed and located numerically (for the extremal case, analytically). According to the parameter values, this spacetime can be interpreted as a black hole, or a spacelike naked singularity, in a spatially homogeneous and isotropic universe.
Recently, with numerical methods, Hod clarified the validity of Thorne hoop conjecture for spatially regular static charged fluid spheres, which were considered as counterexamples against the hoop conjecture. In this work, we provide an analytical proof on Thorne hoop conjecture in the spatially regular static charged fluid sphere spacetimes.
We study the asymptotic dynamics of $f(T, B)$-theory in an anisotropic Bianchi III background geometry. We show that an attractor always exists for the field equations, which depends on a free parameter provided by the specific $f(T, B)$ functional form. The attractor is an accelerated spatially flat FLRW or non-accelerated LRS Bianchi III geometry. Consequently, the $f(T, B)$-theory provides a spatially flat and isotropic accelerated Universe.
We sketch a particularly simple and compelling version of D-brane cosmology. Inspired by the semi-phenomenological Randall--Sundrum models, and their cosmological generalizations, we develop a variant that contains a single (3+1)-dimensional D-brane which is located on the boundary of a single bulk (4+1)-dimensional region. The D-brane boundary is itself to be interpreted as our visible universe, with ordinary matter (planets, stars, galaxies) being trapped on this D-brane by string theory effects. The (4+1)-dimensional bulk is, in its simplest implementation, adS_{4+1}, anti-de Sitter space. …
Time evolution of a black hole lattice universe with a positive cosmological constant $Λ$ is simulated. The vacuum Einstein equations are numerically solved in a cubic box with a black hole in the center. Periodic boundary conditions on all pairs of opposite faces are imposed. Configurations of marginally trapped surfaces are analyzed. We describe the time evolution of not only black hole horizons, but also cosmological horizons. Defining the effective scale factor by using the area of a surface of the cubic box, we compare it with that in the spatially flat dust dominated FLRW universe with t…
I describe the logical basis of the method that I developed in 1962 and 1963 to define a quantum operator corresponding to the observable particle number of a quantized free scalar field in a spatially-flat isotropically expanding (and/or contracting) universe. This work also showed for the first time that particles were created from the vacuum by the curved space-time of an expanding spatially-flat FLRW universe. The same process is responsible for creating the nearly scale-invariant spectrum of quantized perturbations of the inflaton scalar field during the inflationary stage of the expansio…
In a very interesting paper, Andréasson has recently proved that the gravitational mass of a spherically symmetric compact object of radius $R$ and electric charge $Q$ is bounded from above by the relation $\sqrt{M}\leq{\sqrt{R}\over{3}}+\sqrt{{{R}\over{9}}+{{Q^2}\over{3R}}}$. In the present paper we prove that, in the dimensionless regime ${{Q}/{M}}<\sqrt{9/8}$, a stronger upper bound can be derived on the masses of physically realistic ({\it stable}) self-gravitating horizonless compact objects: $M<{{R}\over{3}}+{{2Q^2}\over{3R}}$.
Solutions have been found for gravity coupled to electromagnetic field and a set of charged and uncharged perfect fluids for Bianchi Types VI_{(-1)}, VIII, IX, under the primary assumption of the existence of a conformal Killing vector field. The electromagnetic field ``absorbs'' the ``frozen'' anisotropy and the remaining equations are dynamically equivalent with the equations of ΛCDM. There are solutions with flat, negative and positive effective spatial curvature corresponding to the three FLRW classes. Three equations of state for the charged perfect fluid where studied: non-relativistic w…
