If the $B-L$ symmetry is gauged with the addition of right-handed neutrinos, the standard model $B-L$ current is anomalous with respect to the $B-L$ gauge field itself. Then, the anomaly relation implies that the magnetic helicity of the $B-L$ gauge field is related to the standard model $B-L$ charges, although the whole universe is $B-L$ neutral with right-handed neutrinos. Based on this, we propose a new leptogenesis scenario with the gauged $B-L$ symmetry as follows. First, the magnetic helicity of the $B-L$ gauge field is generated, e.g., by the axion inflation, together with the standard model and right-handed neutrino $B-L$ charges, with the net $B-L$ charge kept zero. The $B-L$ charges in the standard model and right-handed neutrino sectors are then subject to washout effects from the interactions between them. After the washout effects decouple, the $B-L$ gauge symmetry is Higgsed and the magnetic helicity of the $B-L$ gauge field decays and generates $B-L$ charges in the both sector; thanks to the washout effects, we obtain a non-zero $B-L$ asymmetry. We show that the baryon asymmetry of the universe can be generated in this scenario, discussing the decay of the magnetic helicity of the $B-L$ gauge field and the interactions between the right-handed neutrinos and the standard model particles.
We propose a new leptogenesis scenario in a gauged $B-L$ model with supersymmetry at the TeV energy scale. Instead of relying on the very small Yukawa couplings of the singlet neutrinos $N^c$ to generate the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe, which requires a very large resonance enhancement, their $B-L$ gauge interactions are invoked. Successful leptogenesis is then possible if a particular scalar bilinear $\tilde N^c \tilde N^c$ term is disallowed.
We study the phenomenon of baryogenesis via leptogenesis in the gauged $B-L$ symmetric models by embedding the currently proposed model $νMSM$. It is shown that the lightest right handed neutrino of mass $100 GeV$ satisfy the leptogenesis constraint and at the same time representing a candidate for the cold dark matter. We discuss our results in parallel to the predictions of $νMSM$.
We investigate the evolution of the baryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU) in its symmetric phase before the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) induced by leptogenesis in the hypermagnetic field of an arbitrary structure and with a maximum hypermagnetic helicity density. The novelty of this work is that the BAU has been calculated for a continuous hypermagnetic helicity spectrum. The observed BAU $B_{obs} = 10^{-10}$ that can be in large-scale hypermagnetic fields satisfying the wave number inequality $k \leq k_{max}$ grows with increasing $k_{max}$. We will also show that the initial right-h…
It is shown that the requirement of preservation of baryon asymmetry does not rule out a scale for leptogenesis as low as 10 TeV. The conclusions are compatible with see-saw mechanism if for example the pivot mass scale for neutrinos is $\approx 10^{-2}$ that of the charged leptons. We explore the parameter space $\tilde{m}_1$-$M_1$ of relevant light and heavy neutrino masses by solving Boltzmann equations. A viable scenario for obtaining baryogenesis in this way is presented in the context of gauged $B-L$ symmetry.
We show that in supersymmetric models with gauged B-L symmetry, there is a new source for cosmological lepton asymmetry. The Higgs bosons responsible for B-L gauge symmetry breaking decay dominantly into right-handed sneutrinos \tilde{N} and \tilde{N}* producing an asymmetry in \tilde{N} over \tilde{N}*. This can be fully converted into ordinary lepton asymmetry in the decays of \tilde{N}. In simple models with gauged B-L symmetry we show that resonant/soft leptogenesis is naturally realized. Supersymmetry guarantees quasi-degenerate scalar states, while soft breaking of SUSY provides the need…
We study the supersymmetric leptogenesis via $LH_{u}$ flat direction with a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry. We find that the resultant baryon asymmetry is enhanced compared with the case without a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry. The baryon asymmetry is proportional to the reheating temperature of inflation, but it is independent of the gravitino mass. If high reheating temperatures of inflation $T_{R}\sim 10^{10}\GEV$ are available, the mass of the lightest neutrino, $m_{ν1}\sim 10^{-4}\EV$, is small enough to explain the baryon asymmetry in the present universe. Furthermore, the gravitino mass in…
We study a modified version of a $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauged MSSM that was recently shown to produce a new source of leptogenesis through the CP asymmetry of sneutrinos and antisneutrinos (K.S. Babu, Y. Meng, Z. Tavartkiladze, Phys Lett B681:37 (2009)). By taking all superpotential terms and couplings between the MSSM Higgs and $B-L$ scalar sectors into account we find that the model allows a large enough CP violation to explain the observed baryon number to entropy ratio. Monte Carlo analysis shows that a large amount of CP violation can be produced in the decays of the $B-L$ Higgs bosons and that th…
We study hypermagnetic helicity and lepton asymmetry evolution in plasma of the early Universe before the electroweak phase transition (EWPT) accounting for chirality flip processes via inverse Higgs decays and sphaleron transitions which violate the left lepton number and wash out the baryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU). In the scenario where the right electron asymmetry supports the BAU alone through the conservation law $B/3 - L_{eR}=const$ at temperatures $T>T_{RL}\simeq 10 TeV$ the following universe cooling leads to the production of a non-zero left lepton (electrons and neutrinos) as…
It is pointed out that the heavy singlet neutrinos characteristic of leptogenesis develop asymmetries in the abundances of the two helicity states as a result of the same mechanism that generates asymmetries in the standard lepton sector. Neutrinos and standard leptons interchange asymmetries in collisions with each other. It is shown that an appropriate quantum number, B-L', combining baryon, lepton and neutrino asymmetries, is not violated as fast as the standard B-L. This suppresses the washout effects relevant for the derivation of the final baryon asymmetry. One presents detailed calculat…
In the scenario where the right electron asymmetry supports the BAU alone through the conservation law $B/3 - L_{eR}=const$ at temperatures $T>T_{RL}\simeq 10~TeV$ the following universe cooling leads to the production of a non-zero left lepton (electrons and neutrinos) as…
The minimal gauged U(1)$_{L_μ-L_τ}$ model is a simple extension of the Standard Model and has a strong predictive power for the neutrino sector. In particular, the mass spectrum and couplings of heavy right-handed neutrinos are determined as functions of three neutrino Dirac Yukawa couplings, with which we can evaluate the baryon asymmetry of the Universe generated through their decay, i.e., leptogenesis. In this letter, we study leptogenesis in the minimal gauged U(1)$_{L_μ-L_τ}$ model. It turns out that the sign of the resultant baryon asymmetry for the case with the Dirac CP phase, $δ$, lar…
We briefly review the present status of Affleck-Dine baryo/leptogenesis scenarios in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) in the context of the gravity-mediated SUSY breaking, and show that there is a serious cosmological problem in the Affleck-Dine mechanism. That is, the late decay of the associated large Q-balls leads to the over production of the lightest supersymmetric particles. Then, we point out that the minimal extension of the MSSM by introducing a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry naturally solves this problem. Here, the breaking scale of the $U(1)_{B-L}$ can be determined qu…
We propose that the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry can be naturally produced as a byproduct of axion-driven slow-roll inflation by coupling the axion to standard-model neutrinos. We assume that GUT scale right-handed neutrinos are responsible for the masses of the standard model neutrinos and that the Higgs field is light during inflation and develops a Hubble scale vacuum expectation value (VEV). In this set up, the rolling axion generates a helicity asymmetry in standard-model neutrinos. Following inflation, this helicity asymmetry becomes equal to a net lepton number as the Higgs VEV …

We propose a model for Dirac leptogenesis based on a non-anomalous $U(1)^{\prime}$ gauged family symmetry. The anomaly cancellation conditions are satisfied with no new chiral fermions other than the three right-handed neutrinos, giving rise to stringent constraints among the charges. Realistic masses and mixing angles are obtained for all fermions. The model predicts neutrinos of the Dirac type with naturally suppressed masses. Dirac leptogenesis is achieved through the decay of the flavon fields. The cascade decays of the vector-like heavy fermions in the Froggatt-Nielsen mechanism play a cr…
Motivated by the growing evidence for the possible lepton flavour universality violation after the first results from Fermilab's muon $(g-2)$ measurement, we revisit one of the most widely studied anomaly free extensions of the standard model namely, gauged $L_μ-L_τ$ model, to find a common explanation for muon $(g-2)$ as well as baryon asymmetry of the universe via leptogenesis. The minimal setup allows TeV scale resonant leptogenesis satisfying light neutrino data while the existence of light $L_μ-L_τ$ gauge boson affects the scale of leptogenesis as the right handed neutrinos are charged un…
Cosmic strings form at the end of standard supersymmetric hybrid inflation, and both inflation and strings contribute to the CMB anisotropies. If the symmetry which is broken at the end of inflation is gauged $B$-$L$, there is a mixed scenario for leptogenesis: Right-handed neutrinos can be produced non-thermally during reheating via inflaton decay as well as via cosmic string decay. We show that the parameter space consistent with CMB data can accommodate either or both scenarios depending on the mass of the right-handed neutrinos.
The anomalous conversion of leptons into baryons during leptogenesis is shown to produce a right-handed helical magnetic field; in contrast, the magnetic field produced during electroweak baryogenesis is known to be left-handed. If the cosmological medium is turbulent, the magnetic field evolves to have a present day coherence scale and field strength that are of astrophysical interest. Observations of the amplitude, coherence scale, and helicity of the intergalactic magnetic field promise to provide a powerful probe of physics beyond the Standard Model and the very early universe.
Dirac neutrinos with lepton-number-violating interactions can give rise to a new leptogenesis mechanism. In its simplest renormalizable realization, based on a gauged B-L symmetry spontaneously broken by four units, the decay of a new scalar creates an asymmetry in the right-handed neutrinos. A neutrinophilic two-Higgs-doublet model converts this asymmetry to the baryons, provides a natural explanation of the small neutrino masses, and can lead to an effective number of relativistic degrees of freedom of N(eff) = 3.29 due to the entropy-suppressed contribution of the right-handed neutrinos.
Low-scale leptogenesis is most efficient in the limit of an extreme mass degeneracy of right-handed neutrino flavours. Two variants of this situation are of particular interest: large neutrino Yukawa couplings, which boost the prospects of experimental scrutiny, and small ones, which may lead to large lepton asymmetries surviving down to T < 5 GeV. We study benchmarks of these cases within a "complete" framework which tracks both helicity states of right-handed neutrinos as well as their kinetic non-equilibrium, and includes a number of effects not accounted for previously. For two right-hande…
We propose a gauged $B-L$ extension of the standard model (SM) where light neutrinos are of Dirac type by virtue of tiny Yukawa couplings with the SM Higgs. To achieve leptogenesis, we include additional heavy Majorana fermions without introducing any $B-L$ violation by two units. An additional scalar doublet with appropriate $B-L$ charge can allow heavy fermion coupling with the SM leptons so that out of equilibrium decay of the former can lead to generation of lepton asymmetry. Due to the $B-L$ gauge interactions of the decaying fermion, the criteria of successful Dirac leptogenesis can also…
We consider low-scale leptogenesis via right-handed neutrinos $N$ coupled to a $Z'$ boson, with gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ as a simple realization. Keeping the neutrinos sufficiently out of equilibrium puts strong bounds on the $Z'$ coupling strength and mass, our focus being on light $Z'$ and $N$, testable in the near future by SHiP, HPS, Belle II, and at the LHC. We show that leptogenesis could be robustly falsified in a large region of parameter space by the double observation of $Z'$ and $N$, e.g. in the channel $pp\to Z' \to NN$ with displaced $N$-decay vertex, and by several experiments searchi…
In this paper we present a novel formulation of chaotic hybrid inflation in supergravity. The model includes a waterfall field which spontaneously breaks a gauged $U_1(B-L)$ at a GUT scale. This allows for the possibility of future model building which includes the standard formulation of baryogenesis via leptogenesis with the waterfall field decaying into right-handed neutrinos. We have not considered the following issues in this short paper, i.e. supersymmetry breaking, dark matter or the gravitino or moduli problems. Our focus is on showing the compatibility of the present model with Planck…
We discuss leptogenesis within a TeV-scale inverse seesaw model for neutrino masses where the seesaw structure is guaranteed by an SO(10) symmetry. Contrary to the TeV-scale type-I gauged seesaw, the constraints imposed by successful leptogenesis in these models are rather weak and allow for the extra gauge bosons W_R and Z' to be in the LHC accessible range. The key differences in the inverse seesaw compared to the type I case are: (i) decay and inverse decay rates larger than the scatterings involving extra gauge bosons due to the large Yukawa couplings and (ii) the suppression of the washou…
We present a mechanism of leptogenesis based on the out-of-equilibrium decay of a scalar particle into heavy virtual Majorana neutrinos. This scheme presents many conceptual advantages over the conventional scenario of Fukugita and Yanagida. In particular, the standard techniques of quantum field theory can be used to compute the lepton asymmetry, without resorting to the phenomenological approximations usually made to describe unstable particles. This simplification allows us to address in a well-defined framework some issues raised in the recent literature. We also show, in a toy model, that…
CP violation and the violation of baryon-minus-lepton number B-L do not necessarily have to occur simultaneously in order to accomplish successful leptogenesis. Instead, it suffices if new CP-violating interactions at high energies result in primordial charge asymmetries, which are then reprocessed into a nonvanishing B-L asymmetry by right-handed neutrinos (RHNs) at lower energies. In this paper, we study this novel mechanism known as "wash-in leptogenesis", utilizing axion inflation as the source of high-scale CP violation. We specifically consider axion inflation coupled to the Standard Mod…
We study the possibility of realising cosmic inflation, dark matter (DM), baryon asymmetry of the universe (BAU) and light neutrino masses in non-supersymmetric minimal gauged $B-L$ extension of the standard model with three right handed neutrinos. The singlet scalar field responsible for spontaneous breaking of $B-L$ gauge symmetry also plays the role of inflaton by virtue of its non-minimal coupling to gravity. While the lightest right handed neutrino is the DM candidate, being stabilised by an additional $Z_2$ symmetry, we show by performing a detailed renormalisation group evolution (RGE) …
In seesaw mechanism, if right handed (RH) neutrino masses are generated dynamically by a gauged $U(1)$ symmetry breaking, a stochastic gravitational wave background (SGWB) sourced by a cosmic string network could be a potential probe of leptogenesis. We show that the leptogenesis mechanism that facilitates the dominant production of lepton asymmetry via the quantum effects of right-handed neutrinos in gravitational background, can be probed by GW detectors as well as next-generation neutrinoless double beta decay ($0νββ$) experiments in a complementary way. We infer that for a successful lepto…
We propose a minimal extension of the standard model with U(1)_{B-L} \times Z_{2} symmetry. In this model by assuming that the neutrinos are Dirac (i.e. $B-L$ is an exact symmetry), we found a simultaneous solution for non zero neutrino masses and dark matter content of the universe. The observed baryon asymmetry of the universe is also explained using Dirac Leptogenesis, which is assisted by a dark sector, gauged under a U(1)_D symmetry. The latter symmetry of the dark sector is broken at a TeV scale and thereby giving mass to a neutral gauge boson Z_D. The standard model Z-boson mixes with t…
A simple model is constructed based on the gauge symmetry $SU(3)_c \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y \times SU(2)_\ell$, with only the leptons transforming nontrivially under $SU(2)_\ell$. The extended symmetry is broken down to the Standard Model gauge group at TeV-scale energies. We show that this model provides a mechanism for baryogenesis via leptogenesis in which the lepton number asymmetry is generated by $SU(2)_\ell$ instantons. The theory also contains a dark matter candidate - the $SU(2)_\ell$ partner of the right-handed neutrino.
We consider a renormalizable extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model endowed by an R and a gauged B - L symmetry. The model incorporates chaotic inflation driven by a quartic potential, associated with the Higgs field which leads to a spontaneous breaking of U(1)B-L, and yields possibly detectable gravitational waves. We employ quadratic Kahler potentials with a prominent shift-symmetric part proportional to c- and a tiny violation, proportional to c+, included in a logarithm with prefactor -N<0. It also offers an explanation of mu term of the MSSM provided that one related para…
We consider a gauged $U(1)_x$ extension of the standard model and of the minimal supersymmetric standard model where the dark matter fields are charged under $U(1)_x$ and carry lepton number while the standard model fields and fields of the minimal supersymmetric standard model are neutral under $U(1)_x$. We consider leptogenesis in this class of models with all fundamental interactions having no violation of lepton number, and the total $B-L$ in the universe vanishes. Such leptogenesis leads to equal and opposite lepton numbers in the visible sector and in the dark sector, and thus also produ…
In this talk, I shall focus on theories beyond the Standard Model which predict massive neutrinos. Hybrid inflation emerges naturally in these theories: the slow-rolling inflaton field is a gauge singlet which couples with a GUT Higgs field which triggers the end of inflation. In the standard scenario, spontaneous symmetry breaking takes place at the end of inflation at a scale $M$; $M_{GUT} > M > M_Z$ for inflation to solve the GUT monopole problem and cosmic strings always form at this intermediate scale. WMAP data constrain $M \in [10^{14.5}-10^{15.5}]$ GeV and the singlet-Higgs coupling $κ…
We explore direct collider probes of the resonant leptogenesis mechanism for the origin of matter. We work in the context of theories where the Standard Model is extended to include an additional gauged U(1) symmetry broken at the TeV scale, and where the light neutrinos obtain mass through a Type I seesaw at this scale. The CP asymmetry that generates the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry manifests itself in a difference between the number of positive and negative like-sign dileptons N(\ell^+\ell^+)-N(\ell^-\ell^-) that arise in the decay of the new Z' gauge boson to two right-handed neutr…
On the frequency-amplitude plane, Gravitational Waves (GWs) from cosmic strings show a flat plateau at higher frequencies due to the string loop dynamics in standard radiation dominated post-inflationary epoch. The spectrum may show an abrupt upward or a downward trend beyond a turning point frequency $f_*$, if the primordial dark age prior to the Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN), exhibits non-standard cosmic histories. We argue that such a spectral break followed by a rising GW amplitude which is a consequence of a post-inflationary equation of state ($ω>1/3$) stiffer than the radiation ($ω=1/3…
We discuss the various incarnations of a gauged B-L symmetry: 1) unbroken, it features Dirac neutrinos, neutrinogenesis to create the baryon asymmetry of our Universe, and a potentially light Z' boson; 2) broken by two units, we obtain the standard case of Majorana neutrinos, seesaw and thermal leptogenesis; 3) broken by four units, we find Dirac neutrinos with lepton-number-violating interactions, which can give rise to a new Dirac leptogenesis mechanism. We review and discuss the signatures distinguishing the three scenarios.
We revisit the hybrid inflation model gauged by $U(1)_{B-L}$ extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) in a no-scale background. Considering a single predictive framework, we study inflation, leptogenesis, gavitino cosmology, and the stochastic background of gravitational waves produced by metastable cosmic strings. The spontaneous breaking of $U(1)_{B-L}$ at the end of inflation produces a network of metastable cosmic strings while, the interaction between $U(1)_{B-L}$ Higgs field and the neutrinos generate heavy Majorana masses for the right-handed neutrinos. The heavy Ma…

We demonstrate that the three-dimensional Skyrmion, which has remained elusive so far, spontaneously appears as the ground state of $SU$(2) symmetric Bose-Einstein condensates coupled with a non-Abelian gauge field. The gauge field is a three-dimensional analogue of the Rashba spin-orbit coupling. Upon squashing the SO(3) symmetric gauge field to one- or two-dimensional shapes, we find that the ground state continuously undergoes a change from a three-dimensional to a one- or two-dimensional Skyrmion, which is identified by estimating winding numbers and helicity. All of the emerged Skyrmions …
In the context of supersymmetric theories, a weakly broken gauged SO(3) flavour symmetry is used to produce two highly degenerate right handed (RH) neutrinos. It is then shown that this SO(3) flavour symmetry is compatible with all fermion masses and mixings if it is supplemented with a further SU(3) flavour symmetry. A specific Susy breaking model is used to generate the light neutrino masses as well as a natural model of TeV scale resonant leptogenesis.
We analyse the effects of thermal quasiparticles in leptogenesis using hard-thermal-loop-resummed propagators in the imaginary time formalism of thermal field theory. We perform our analysis in a leptogenesis toy model with three right-handed heavy neutrinos $N_1$, $N_2$ and $N_3$. We consider decays and inverse decays and work in the hierarchical limit where $M_2 \gg M_1$. We neglect flavour effects and assume that the temperatures are much smaller than $M_2$ and $M_3$. We pay special attention to the influence of fermionic quasiparticles. We allow for the leptons to be either decoupled from …
The temperature of sphaleron freeze-out, $T\approx 130$ GeV, sets a scale for mechanisms for generating lepton asymmetries and converting them to baryon asymmetry (leptogenesis). For Majorana masses $M \gg πT$, leptogenesis takes place in the non-relativistic regime, while for $M \ll πT$, the dynamics is ultrarelativistic. The intermediate case $M \sim πT$ is the most cumbersome, as no effective theory methods are available. We review the definitions of and provide integral representations for all rate coefficients and mass corrections of $\mathcal{O}(h_ν^2)$ in this regime, such that the expr…
We provide a minimal alternative gauged U(1)$_{\rm B-L}$ model in which three right-handed neutrinos with charges of (5,-4,-4) and only one B-L Higgs field with charge 1 are introduced. Consistent active neutrino masses and mixings can be obtained if the $Z_2$ symmetry on two of the right-handed neutrinos is introduced. It predicts two heavy degenerate right-handed neutrinos, which may realize resonant leptogenesis scenario, and one relatively light sterile neutrino, which is a good dark matter candidate.
We discuss gauge coupling unification of the SM descending directly from SO(10) while providing solutions to the three outstanding problems: neutrino masses, dark matter, and the baryon asymmetry of the universe. Conservation of matter parity as gauged discrete symmetry in the model calls for high-scale spontaneous symmetry breaking through ${126}_H$ Higgs representation. This naturally leads to the hybrid seesaw formula for neutrino masses mediated by heavy scalar triplet and right-handed neutrinos. The seesaw formula predicts two distinct patterns of RH$ν$ masses, one hierarchical and anothe…
We study the structure of the neutrino mass matrix in the minimal gauged U(1)$_{L_μ-L_τ}$ model, where three right-handed neutrinos are added to the Standard Model in order to obtain non-zero masses for active neutrinos. Because of the U(1)$_{L_μ-L_τ}$ gauge symmetry, the structure of both Dirac and Majorana mass terms of neutrinos is tightly restricted. In particular, the inverse of the neutrino mass matrix has zeros in the $(μ,μ)$ and $(τ,τ)$ components, namely, this model offers a symmetric realization of the so-called two-zero-minor structure in the neutrino mass matrix. Due to these const…

The extension of the Standard model (SM) with three heavy right handed neutrinos, a complex scalar and the gauged $U(1)_{\rm B-L}$ symmetry (the minimal $B-L$ model) is considered the most compelling minimal one: the presence and the out-of-equilibrium decay of the heavy right handed neutrinos can account for the small masses of the active neutrinos and the baryon asymmetry of the universe. A natural accompanying question concerns whether the minimal $B-L$ model can naturally accommodate an interesting dark matter (DM) candidate. We study the possibility where the current DM population is expl…
We show that warm inflation can be realized within a minimal extension of the Standard Model with three right-handed neutrinos, three complex scalars and a gauged lepton/B-L U(1) symmetry. This simple model can address all the shortcomings of the Standard Model that are not related to fine-tuning, within general relativity, with distinctive experimental signatures that can be probed in the near future. The inflaton field emerges from the collective breaking of the U(1) symmetry, and interacts with two of the right-handed neutrinos, sustaining a high-temperature radiation bath during inflation.…
We study the generation of intergalactic magnetic fields in two models for first-order phase transitions in the early Universe that have been studied previously in connection with the generation of gravitational waves (GWs): the Standard Model supplemented by an $|H|^6$ operator (SM+$H^6$) and a classically scale-invariant model with an extra gauged U(1) $B - L$ symmetry (SM$_{B-L}$). We consider contributions to magnetic fields generated by bubble collisions and by turbulence in the primordial plasma, and we consider the hypotheses that helicity is seeded in the gauge field or kinetically. We…
A gauged U(1)_B-L symmetry predicts three right handed handed neutrinos and its spontaneous breaking automatically yields the seesaw mechanism. In a supersymmetric setting this breaking can be nicely linked with inflation to yield deltaT/ T proportional to (M_B-L / M_P)^2, where M_B-L (M_P) denote the B-L breaking (Planck) scale. Thus M_B-L is estimated to be of order 10^16 GeV, and the heaviest right handed neutrino mass is less than or of order 10^14 GeV. A second right handed neutrino turns out to have a mass of order 10-10^2 T_r, where T_r (<~10^9 GeV) denotes the reheat temperature. A U(1…
