We prove a Galois correspondence theorem for groupoids acting orthogonally and partially on commutative rings. We also consider partial actions that are not orthogonal, presenting two correspondences in this case: one for strongly Galois partial groupoid actions and one for global groupoid actions (without restriction). Some examples are presented.
Some conditions for the Galois map to be injective are given in the groupoid acting on a noncommutative ring context. In the particular case in which the Galois extension is a central Galois algebra, it is given a complete characterization of that kind of extension with Galois map bijective.
In this paper we introduce the notion of a partial action of a groupoid on a ring as well as we give a criteria for the existence of a globalization of it. We construct a Morita context associated to a globalizable partial groupoid action and we introduce the notion of a partial Galois extension, which is related to the strictness of this context.
Let $\operatorname{G}$ be a finite groupoid and $α=(S_g,α_g)_{g\in \operatorname{G}}$ a unital partial action of group-type of $\operatorname{G}$ on a commutative ring $S=\oplus_{y\in\operatorname{G}_0}S_y$. We shall prove a Galois correspondence between a class of wide subgroupoids of $\operatorname{G}$ and a class of subrings of $S$. We recover known results for global groupoid actions and we give several examples to illustrate the correspondence.
A Galois correspondence theorem is proved for the case of inverse semigroups acting orthogonally on commutative rings as a consequence of the Galois correspondence theorem for groupoid actions. To this end, we use a classic result of inverse semigroup theory that establishes a one-to-one correspondence between inverse semigroups and inductive groupoids.
In this article, we introduce the concept of partial groupoid actions on R- semicategories as well as we give criteria for existence of a globalization of it. This point of view is a generalization of the notions of partial groupoid actions on rings and partial group action on an R-semicategory. We also define the notions of partial skew groupoid category, smash product and describe functorial relations between them, in particular we show that the smash product is a Galois covering of its associated skew groupoid category.
We study the question of the surjectivity of the Galois correspondence from subHopf algebras to subfields given by the Fundamental Theorem of Galois Theory for abelian Hopf Galois structures on a Galois extension of fields with Galois group G', a finite abelian p-group. Applying the connection between regular subgroups of the holomorph of a finite abelian p-group (G, +) and associative, commutative nilpotent algebra structures A on (G, +) of Caranti, et. al., we show that if A gives rise to a H-Hopf Galois structure on L/K, then the K-subHopf algebras of H correspond to the ideals of A. Among …
Let $L/K$ be a Galois extension of fields with Galois group $Γ$, and suppose $L/K$ is also an $H$-Hopf Galois extension. Using the recently uncovered connection between Hopf Galois structures and skew left braces, we introduce a method to quantify the failure of surjectivity of the Galois correspondence from subHopf algebras of $H$ to intermediate subfields of $L/K$, given by the Fundamental Theorem of Hopf Galois Theory. Suppose $L \otimes_K H = LN$ where $N \cong (G, \star)$. Then there exists a skew left brace $(G, \star, \circ)$ where $(G, \circ) \cong Γ$. We show that there is a bijective…
In this paper, we are interested in the study of the existence of connections between partial groupoid actions and partial group actions. Precisely, we prove that there exists a datum connecting a partial action of a connected groupoid and a partial action of any of its isotropy groups. Furthermore, it will be proved that under a suitable condition the partial skew groupoid ring corresponding to a partial action by a connected groupoid is isomorphic to a specific partial skew group ring. We also present a Morita theory and a Galois theory related to these partial actions as well as considerati…
The Jacobson-Bourbaki Theorem for division rings was formulated in terms of corings by Sweedler in 1975. Finiteness conditions hypotheses are not required in this new approach. In this paper we extend Sweedler's result to simple artinian rings using a particular class of corings, comatrix corings. A Jacobson-Bourbaki like correspondence for simple artinian rings is then obtained by duality.
Let $L/K$ be a $G$-Galois extension of fields with an $H$-Hopf Galois structure of type $N$. We study the ratio $GC(G, N)$, which is the number of intermediate fields $E$ with $K \subseteq E \subseteq L$ that are in the image of the Galois correspondence for the $H$-Hopf Galois structure on $L/K$, divided by the number of intermediate fields. By Galois descent, $L \otimes_K H = LN$ where $N$ is a $G$-invariant regular subgroup of $\mathrm{Perm}(G)$, and then $GC(G, N)$ is the number of $G$-invariant subgroups of $N$, divided by the number of subgroups of $G$. We look at the Galois corresponden…
A coaction of a Hopf algebra on a unital algebra is called homogeneous if the algebra of coinvariants equals the ground field. A coaction of a Hopf algebra on a (not necessarily unital) algebra is called Galois, or principal, or free, if the canonical map, also known as the Galois map, is bijective. In this paper, we establish a duality between a particular class of homogeneous coactions, up to equivariant Morita equivalence, and Galois coactions, up to isomorphism.
The paper establishes an one-to-one correspondence between simple Moufang loops and Paige loops constructed over Galois extension over prime field in its algebraic closure. Using this connection it describes fully the family of nonassociative finite simple Moufang loops. It describes the generators, the loop structure of subloops, the automorphism group of nonassociative simple Moufang loops.
Stably supported quantales generalize pseudogroups and provide an algebraic context in which to study the correspondences between inverse semigroups and étale groupoids. Here we study a further generalization where a non-unital version of supported quantale carries the algebraic content of such correspondences to the setting of open groupoids. A notion of principal quantale is introduced which, in the case of groupoid quantales, corresponds precisely to effective equivalence relations.
