We propose a scheme to entangle two magnon modes based on parity measurement. In particular, we consider a system that two yttrium-iron-garnet spheres are coupled to a $V$-type superconducting qutrit through the indirect interactions mediated by cavity modes. An effective parity-measurement operator that can project the two macroscopic spin systems to the desired subspace emerges when the ancillary qutrit is projected to the ground state. Consequently, conventional and multi-excitation magnon Bell states can be generated from any separable states with a nonvanishing population in the desired subspace. The target state can be distilled with a near-to-unit fidelity only by several rounds of measurements and can be stabilized in the presence of the measurement imperfection and environmental decoherence. In addition, a single-shot version of our scheme is obtained by shaping the detuning in the time domain. Our scheme that does not rely on any nonlinear Hamiltonian brings insight to the entangled-state generation in massive ferrimagnetic materials via quantum measurement.
We propose a level-resolved protocol in a hybrid architecture for connecting a superconducting qubit and a magnon mode contained within a microwave cavity (resonator) to generate the local and global entangled states, enabling a wide range of applications in quantum communication, quantum metrology, and quantum information processing. Exploiting the high-degree of controllability in such a hybrid qubit-photon-magnon system, we derive effective Hamiltonians at the second- or the third-order resonant points by virtue of the strong counter-rotating interactions between the resonator and the qubit…
We present a proposal to test Bell inequality in the emerging field of cavity optomagnonics, where a sphere of ferromagnetic crystal supports two optical whispering gallery modes and one magnon mode. The two optical modes are driven by two laser pulses, respectively. Entanglement between magnon mode and one of the two optical modes will be generated by the first pulse, and the state of magnon mode is subsequently mapped into another optical mode via the second pulse. Hence correlated photon-photon pairs is created out of the cavity. A Bell test can be implemented using these pairs, which enabl…

We show that parity-time ($\mathcal{PT}$) symmetry can be spontaneously broken in the recently reported energy level attraction of magnons and cavity photons. In the $\mathcal{PT}$-broken phase, magnon and photon form a high-fidelity Bell state with maximum entanglement. This entanglement is steady and robust against the perturbation of environment, in contrast to the general wisdom that expects instability of the hybridized state when the symmetry is broken. This anomaly is further understood by the compete of non-Hermitian evolution and particle number conservation of the hybridized system. …
The main challenge in the recent demonstration of conventional magnon blockade is to increase the nonlinearity of the system especially in comparison with the dissipation channels. One can consider the Kerr nonlinearity through which magnon blockade in a cavity magnonic system is possible provided that the Kerr nonlinearity is much stronger than the cavity and magnonic mode dissipation rates. In the present contribution, we consider a PT-symmetric cavity magnonic system and study the effect of PT-symmetric phase on the magnon statistics and hence magnon blockade. We show that the PT-symmetric …
We report the first experimental violation of Bell's inequality in the spatial domain using the Einstein--Podolsky--Rosen state. Two-photon states generated via optical spontaneous parametric downconversion are shown to be entangled in the parity of their one-dimensional transverse spatial profile. Superpositions of Bell states are prepared by manipulation of the optical pump's transverse spatial parity--a classical parameter. The Bell-operator measurements are made possible by devising simple optical arrangements that perform rotations in the one-dimensional spatial-parity space of each photo…
By engineering an anti-parity-time (anti-PT) symmetric cavity magnonics system with precise eigenspace controllability, we observe two different singularities in the same system. One type of singularity, the exceptional point (EP), is produced by tuning the magnon damping. Between two EPs, the maximal coherent superposition of photon and magnon states is robustly sustained by the preserved anti-PT symmetry. The other type of singularity, arising from the dissipative coupling of two anti-resonances, is an unconventional bound state in the continuum (BIC). At the settings of BICs, the coupled sy…
In terms of quantum probability statistics the Bell inequality (BI) and its violation are extended to spin-$s$ entangled Schrödinger cat-state (called the Bell cat-state) with both parallel and antiparallel spin-polarizations. The BI is never ever violated for the measuring outcome probabilities evaluated over entire two-spin Hilbert space except the spin-$1/2$ entangled states. A universal Bell-type inequality (UBI) denoted by $p_{s}^{lc}\leq0$ is formulated with the local realistic model under the condition that the measuring outcomes are restricted in the subspace of spin coherent states. A…
Bell inequalities (BIs) derived in terms of quantum probability statistics are extended to general bipartite-entangled states of arbitrary spins with parallel polarization. The original formula of Bell for the two-spin singlet is slightly modified in the parallel configuration, while, the inequality for- mulated by Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt remains not changed. The violation of BIs indeed resulted from the quantum non-local correlation for spin-1=2 case. However, the inequalities are always satisfied for the spin-1 entangled states regardless of parallel or antiparallel polarizations of two s…

The Bell experiment is a random game with two binary outcomes whose statistical correlation is given by $E_0(Θ)=-\cos(Θ)$, where $Θ\in [-π, π)$ is an angular input that parameterizes the game setting. The correlation function $E_0(Θ)$ belongs to the affine space ${\cal H} \equiv \left\{E(Θ)\right\}$ of all continuous and differentiable periodic functions $E(Θ)$ that obey the parity symmetry constraints $E(-Θ)=E(Θ)$ and $E(π-Θ)=-E(Θ)$ with $E(0)=-1$ and, furthermore, are strictly monotonically increasing in the interval $[0, π)$. Here we show how to build explicitly local statistical models of …
We show that a Bell inequality test using an optical hybrid state between a polarized single photon and a coherent field can be highly robust against detection inefficiency. The Bell violation occurs until the efficiency becomes as low as 67% even though its degree becomes small as the detection efficiency degrades. We consider on/off and photon number parity measurements, respectively, for the Bell test and they result in the similar conditions. If the detection efficiency is higher than 98.68%, parity measurements give larger Bell violations close to Cirel'son's bound, while on/off measureme…
We investigate under which conditions quantum nonlocal manifestations as Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering or Bell nonlocality can manifest themselves even at the macroscopic level of two mechanical resonators in optomechanical systems. We adopt the powerful scheme of reservoir engineering, implemented by driving a cavity mode with a properly chosen two-tone field, to prepare two mechanical oscillators into an entangled state. We show that large and robust (both one-way and two-way) steering could be achieved in the steady state with realistic parameters. We analyze the mechanism of the asymmet…
The set of 60 real rays in four dimensions derived from the vertices of a 600-cell is shown to possess numerous subsets of rays and bases that provide basis-critical parity proofs of the Bell-Kochen-Specker (BKS) theorem (a basis-critical proof is one that fails if even a single basis is deleted from it). The proofs vary considerably in size, with the smallest having 26 rays and 13 bases and the largest 60 rays and 41 bases. There are at least 90 basic types of proofs, with each coming in a number of geometrically distinct varieties. The replicas of all the proofs under the symmetries of the 6…
We study Bell inequality tests with entanglement between a coherent-state field in a cavity and a two-level atom. In order to detect the cavity field for such a test, photon on/off measurements and photon number parity measurements, respectively, are investigated. When photon on/off measurements are used, at least 50% of detec- tion efficiency is required to demonstrate violation of the Bell inequality. Photon number parity measurements for the cavity field can be effectively performed using ancillary atoms and an atomic detector, which leads to large degrees of Bell violations up to Cirel'son…
By exploiting the fermionic qubit parity measurement, we present a scheme to realize quantum non-demolition (QND) measurement of Bell-states and generate n-party GHZ state in quantum dot. Compared with the original protocol, the required electron transfer before and after parity measurement can be nonadiabatic, which may speed up the operation speed and make the omitting of spin-orbit interaction more reasonable. This may help us to construct CNOT gate without highly precise control of coupling as the way of D. Gottesman and I. L. Chuang.
Recent work has shown that use of quantum feedback can significantly enhance both the speed and success rate of measurement-based remote entanglement generation, but it is generally unknown what feedback protocols are optimal for these tasks. Here we consider two common measurements that are capable of projecting into pairwise entangled states, namely half- and full-parity measurements of two qubits, and determine in each case a globally optimal protocol for generation of entanglement. For the half-parity measurement, we rederive a previously described protocol using more general methods and p…
Recently, experiments showed that the spatial-mode states of entangled photons are more robust than their polarization-mode states in quantum communications. Here we construct a complete and deterministic protocol for analyzing the spatial Bell states using the interaction between a photon and an electron spin in a charged quantum dot inside a one-side micropillar microcavity. A quantum nondemolition detector (QND) for checking the parity of a two-photon system can be constructed with the giant optical Faraday rotation in this solid state system. With this parity-check QND, we present a comple…
We provide an interesting two-party parity oblivious communication game whose success probability is solely determined by the Bell expression. The parity-oblivious condition in an operational quantum theory implies the preparation non-contextuality in an ontological model of it. We find that the aforementioned Bell expression has two upper bounds in an ontological model; the usual local bound and a non-trivial preparation non-contextual bound arising from the non-trivial parity-oblivious condition, which is smaller that the local bound. We first demonstrate the communication game when both Ali…
We try to classify the spectrum of the two-qubit Dicke model by calculating two quantum information measures of its eigenstates: the Wooters concurrence and the mutual quantum information. We are able to detect four spectral sets in each parity subspace of the model: one set is regular and given by the product of a Fock state of the field times the singlet Bell state of the qubits; the rest are fairly regular and related to the triplet states of the Bell basis. The singlet states become trapping states when we couple the Dicke model to an environment of harmonic oscillators, making them candid…
A general two qubit system expressed in terms of the complete set of unit and fifteen traceless, Hermitian Dirac matrices, is shown to exhibit novel features of this system. The well-known physical interpretations associated with the relativistic Dirac equation involving the symmetry operations of time-reversal T, charge conjugation C, parity P, and their products are reinterpreted here by examining their action on the basic Bell states. The transformation properties of the Bell basis states under these symmetry operations also reveal that C is the only operator that does not mix the Bell stat…
Logic qubit entanglement, which is also called the concatenated Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (C-GHZ) state, is robust in practical noisy environment. In this paper, we will describe an efficient approach to realize the complete polarization Bell-state analysis which is encoded in the logic qubit. We showed that the logic Bell-state can be distinguished in two steps with the help of the parity-check measurement (PCM), which is constructed by the cross-Kerr nonlinearity. We also explain that this approach can be used to distinguish arbitrary C-GHZ state with $N$ logic qubits. This protocol is use…
The Bell-Kochen-Specker theorem (BKS) theorem rules out realistic {\it non-contextual} theories by resorting to impossible assignments of rays among a selected set of maximal orthogonal bases. We investigate the geometrical structure of small $v-l$ BKS-proofs involving $v$ real rays and $l$ $2n$-dimensional bases of $n$-qubits ($1< n < 5$). Specifically, we look at the parity proof 18-9 with two qubits (A. Cabello, 1996), the parity proof 36-11 with three qubits (M. Kernaghan & A. Peres, 1995 \cite{Kernaghan1965}) and a newly discovered non-parity proof 80-21 with four qubits (that improves wo…
When independent Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC), described quantum mechanically by Fock (number) states, are sent into interferometers, the measurement of the output port at which the particles are detected provides a binary measurement, with two possible results $\pm1$. With two interferometers and two BEC's, the parity (product of all results obtained at each interferometer) has all the features of an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen quantity, with perfect correlations predicted by quantum mechanics when the settings (phase shifts of the interferometers) are the same. When they are different, signif…
Hyperentangled states can outperform their classical counterparts on solving certain tasks. Here we present a simplified scheme for completely distinguishing two-photon hyperentangled Bell states in polarization, spatial, and time-bin degrees of freedom (DOFs). Unity fidelity can be achieved in principle without strong couple limitation between photon and quantum dot (QD), and the incomplete and imperfect QD-cavity interactions are prevented by single-photon detectors. In addition, auxiliary photons or DOFs are not required in our scheme. The necessary linear optical elements are fewer than th…
The decoherence of two initially entangled qubits in anisotropic band gap photonic crystal has been studied analytically without Born or Markovian approximation. It is shown that the decoherence dynamics of two qubits in photonic crystal is greatly different from that of two qubits in vacuum or subjected to usual non-Markovian reservoir. The results also show that the finite time decoherence invoked by spontaneous emission could be suppressed efficiently and the entanglement of the Bell state possesses odd parity is more easily preserved in photonic crystal than that of the Bell state possesse…
Hyperentanglement, the entanglement in several degrees of freedom (DOFs) of a quantum system, has attracted much attention as it can be used to increase both the channel capacity of quantum communication and its security largely. Here, we present the first scheme to completely distinguish the hyperentangled Bell states of two-photon systems in three DOFs with the help of cross-Kerr nonlinearity without destruction, including two longitudinal momentum DOFs and the polarization DOF. We use cross-Kerr nonlinearity to construct quantum nondemolition detectors which can be used to make a parity-che…
We propose a method to generate nonclassical states of light in multimode microwave cavities. Our approach considers two-photon processes that take place in a system composed of two extended cavities and an ultrastrongly coupled light-matter system. Under specific resonance conditions, our method generates, in a deterministic manner, product states of uncorrelated photon pairs, Bell states, and W states. We demonstrate improved generation times when increasing the number of multimode cavities, and prove the generation of genuine multipartite entangled states when coupling an ancillary system t…
Hyperentangled Bell states analysis (HBSA) is an essential building block for certain hyper-parallel quantum information processing. We propose a complete and deterministic HBSA scheme encoded in spatial and polarization degrees of freedom (DOFs) of two-photon system assisted by a fixed frequency-based entanglement and a time interval DOF. The parity information the spatial-based and polarization-based hyper-entanglement can be distinguished by the distinct time intervals of the photon pairs, and the phase information can be distinguished by the detection signature. Compared with previous sche…
The coherent-state qubit is a promising candidate for optical quantum information processing due to its nearly-deterministic nature of the Bell-state measurement (BSM). However, its non-orthogonality incurs difficulties such as failure of the BSM. One may use a large amplitude ($α$) for the coherent state to minimize the failure probability, but the qubit then becomes more vulnerable to dephasing by photon loss. We propose a hardware-efficient concatenated BSM (CBSM) scheme with modified parity encoding using coherent states with reasonably small amplitudes ($|α| \lessapprox 2$), which simulta…
Two mode squeezed vacuum states allow Bell's inequality violation (BIQV) for all non-vanishing squeezing parameter $(ζ)$. Maximal violation occurs at $ζ\to \infty$ when the parity of either component averages to zero. For a given entangled {\it two spin} system BIQV is optimized via orientations of the operators entering the Bell operator (cf. S. L. Braunstein, A. Mann and M. Revzen: Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf68}, 3259 (1992)). We show that for finite $ζ$ in continuous variable systems (and in general whenever the dimensionality of the subsystems is greater than 2) additional parameters are present…
The parity gate emerged recently as a promising resource for performing universal quantum computation with fermions using only linear interactions. Here we analyse the parity gate (P-gate) from a theoretical point of view in the context of quantum networks. We present several schemes for entanglement generation with P-gates and show that native networks simplify considerably the resources required for producing multi-qubit entanglement, like n-GHZ states. Other applications include a Bell-state analyser and teleportation. We also show that cluster state fusion can be performed deterministicall…
Protecting quantum information from errors is essential for large-scale quantum computation. Quantum error correction (QEC) encodes information in entangled states of many qubits, and performs parity measurements to identify errors without destroying the encoded information. However, traditional QEC cannot handle leakage from the qubit computational space. Leakage affects leading experimental platforms, based on trapped ions and superconducting circuits, which use effective qubits within many-level physical systems. We investigate how two-transmon entangled states evolve under repeated parity …
Bell's theorem sets a boundary between the classical and quantum realms, by providing a strict proof of the existence of entangled quantum states with no classical counterpart. An experimental violation of Bell's inequality demands simultaneously high fidelities in the preparation, manipulation and measurement of multipartite quantum entangled states. For this reason the Bell signal has been tagged as a single-number benchmark for the performance of quantum computing devices. Here we demonstrate deterministic, on-demand generation of two-qubit entangled states of the electron and the nuclear s…
We address nonlocality of a class of fully inseparable three-mode Gaussian states generated either by bilinear three-mode Hamiltonians or by a sequence of bilinear two-mode Hamiltonians. Two different tests revealing strong nonlocality are considered, in which the dichotomic Bell operator is represented by displaced parity and by pseudospin operator respectively. Three-mode states are also considered as a conditional source of two-mode non Gaussian states, whose nonlocal properties are analyzed. We found that the non Gaussian character of the conditional states allows violation of Bell's inequ…
We propose to realize the pseudo-Hermiticity in a cavity magnonics system consisting of the Kittel modes in two small yttrium-iron-garnet spheres coupled to a microwave cavity mode. The effective gain of the cavity can be achieved using the coherent perfect absorption of the two input fields fed into the cavity. With certain constraints of the parameters, the Hamiltonian of the system has the pseudo-Hermiticity and its eigenvalues can be either all real or one real and other two constituting a complex-conjugate pair. By varying the coupling strengths between the two Kittel modes and the cavity…
Spintronics and quantum information science are two promising candidates for innovating information processing technologies. The combination of these two fields enables us to build solid-state platforms for studying quantum phenomena and for realizing multi-functional quantum tasks. For a long time, however, the intersection of these two fields was limited. This situation has changed significantly over the last few years because of the remarkable progress in coding and processing information using magnons. On the other hand, significant advances in understanding the entanglement of quasi-parti…
We propose a realization of a charge parity meter based on two double quantum dots alongside a quantum point contact. Such a device is a specific example of the general class of mesoscopic quadratic quantum measurement detectors previously investigated by Mao et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 93, 056803 (2004)]. Our setup accomplishes entangled state preparation by a current measurement alone, and allows the qubits to be effectively decoupled by pinching off the parity meter. Two applications of the parity meter are discussed: the measurement of Bell's inequality in charge qubits and the realization of…
We propose a phase estimation protocol for optical interferometry that employs a probe state (containing on average n photons) obtained by squeezing each mode, separately, of a single photon path entangled Bell state. This scheme involves a Mach-Zehnder type interferometer for which each mode is squeezed after the first beam splitter. Information about the differential phase is extracted using a parity detection and the resulting measurement signal is super-resolving and supersensitive, with a minimum phase uncertainty 2/(n+1). This probe state can be generated with current technologies where …
Generating on-demand maximally entangled states is one of the corner stones for quantum information processing. Parity measurements can serve to create Bell states and have been implemented via an electronic Mach-Zehnder interferometer among others. However, the entanglement generation is necessarily harmed by measurement induced dephasing processes in one of the two parity subspace. In this work, we propose two different schemes of continuous feedback for a parity measurement. They enable us to avoid both the measurement-induced dephasing process and the experimentally unavoidable dephasing, …
We analyze theoretically spontaneous parametric down-conversion in a multimode nonlinear waveguide as a source of entangled pairs of spatial qubits, realized as superpositions of a photon in two orthogonal transverse modes of the waveguide. It is shown that by exploiting intermodal dispersion, down-conversion into the relevant pairs of spatial modes can be selected by spectral filtering, which also provides means to fine-tune the properties of the generated entangled state. We also discuss an inverting interferometer detecting the spatial parity of the input beam as a versatile tool to charact…
