We consider a rational six vertex model on a rectangular lattice with boundary conditions that generalize the usual domain wall type. We find that the partition function of the inhomogeneous version of this model is given by a modified Izergin determinant. The proofs are based on the quantum inverse scattering method and its representation theory together with elementary linear algebra.
We introduce the $h$-adic quantum vertex algebras associated with the rational $R$-matrix in types $B$, $C$ and $D$, thus generalizing the Etingof--Kazhdan's construction in type $A$. Next, we construct the algebraically independent generators of the center of the $h$-adic quantum vertex algebra in type $B$ at the critical level, as well as the families of central elements in types $C$ and $D$. Finally, as an application, we obtain commutative subalgebras of the dual Yangian and the families of central elements of the appropriately completed double Yangian at the critical level, in types $B$, …
We consider the six-vertex model with the rational weights on an $s\times N$ square lattice, $s\leq N$, with partial domain wall boundary conditions. We study the one-point function at the boundary where the free boundary conditions are imposed. For a finite lattice, it can be computed by the quantum inverse scattering method in terms of determinants. In the large $N$ limit, the result boils down to an explicit terminating series in the parameter of the weights. Using the saddle-point method for an equivalent integral representation, we show that as $s$ next tends to infinity, the one-point fu…
We propose a basis for rational gl(N) spin chains in an arbitrary rectangular representation $(S^A)$ that factorises the Bethe vectors into products of Slater determinants in Baxter Q-functions. This basis is constructed by repeated action of fused transfer matrices on a suitable reference state. We prove that it diagonalises the so-called B-operator, hence the operatorial roots of the latter are the separated variables. The spectrum of the separated variables is also explicitly computed and it turns out to be labelled by Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns. Our approach utilises a special choice of the …
The rank 1 bosonic ghost vertex algebra, also known as the $βγ$ ghosts, symplectic bosons or Weyl vertex algebra, is a simple example of a conformal field theory which is neither rational, nor $C_2$-cofinite. We identify a module category, denoted category $\mathscr{F}$, which satisfies three necessary conditions coming from conformal field theory considerations: closure under restricted duals, closure under fusion and closure under the action of the modular group on characters. We prove the second of these conditions, with the other two already being known. Further, we show that category $\ma…
Fully inhomogeneous spin Hall-Littlewood symmetric rational functions $F_λ$ are multiparameter deformations of the classical Hall-Littlewood symmetric polynomials and can be viewed as partition functions in $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ higher spin six vertex models. We obtain a refined Littlewood identity expressing a weighted sum of $F_λ$'s over all partitions $λ$ with even multiplicities as a certain Pfaffian. This Pfaffian can be derived as a partition function of the six vertex model in a triangle with suitably decorated domain wall boundary conditions. The proof is based on the Yang-Baxter equation…
We study quantum current algebra $\textrm{A}(\overline{R})$ associated with the rational $R$-matrix of $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ and we give explicit formulae for the elements of its center at the critical level. Due to Etingof--Kazhdan's construction, the level $c$ vacuum module $\mathcal{V}_c(\overline{R})$ for the algebra $\textrm{A}(\overline{R})$ possesses a quantum vertex algebra structure for any complex number $c$. We prove that any module for the quantum vertex algebra $\mathcal{V}_c(\overline{R})$ is naturally equipped with a structure of restricted $\textrm{A}(\overline{R})$-module of level…
We study representations of the meromorphic open-string vertex algebra (MOSVAs hereafter) defined in [H3], a noncommutative generalization of vertex (operator) algebra. We start by recalling the definition of a MOSVA $V$ and left $V$-modules in [H3]. Then we define right $V$-modules and $V$-bimodules that reflect the noncommutative nature of $V$. When $V$ satisfies a condition on the order of poles of the correlation function (which we call pole-order condition), we prove that the rationality of products of two vertex operators implies the rationality of products of any numbers of vertex opera…
A two-dimensional chiral conformal field theory can be viewed mathematically as the representation theory of its chiral algebra, a vertex operator algebra. Vertex operator algebras are especially well suited for studying logarithmic conformal field theory (in which correlation functions have logarithmic singularities arising from non-semisimple modules for the chiral algebra) because of the logarithmic tensor category theory of Huang, Lepowsky, and Zhang. In this paper, we study not-necessarily-semisimple or rigid braided tensor categories $\mathcal{C}$ of modules for the fixed-point vertex op…
The problem of counting the number of waves arriving at the vertex of a polyhedron is motivated by physics. In the article it was solved for the case of Platonic solid using three nontrivial results from number theory. This growth turns out to be subexponential. Also we prove a subexponential upper bound for all polyhedra with rational total angles at vertices.
Let $V\subseteq A$ be a conformal inclusion of vertex operator algebras and let $\mathcal{C}$ be a category of grading-restricted generalized $V$-modules that admits the vertex algebraic braided tensor category structure of Huang-Lepowsky-Zhang. We give conditions under which $\mathcal{C}$ inherits semisimplicity from the category of grading-restricted generalized $A$-modules in $\mathcal{C}$, and vice versa. The most important condition is that $A$ be a rigid $V$-module in $\mathcal{C}$ with non-zero categorical dimension, that is, we assume the index of $V$ as a subalgebra of $A$ is finite a…
