Two Higgs doublets respect a mirror symmetry with spontaneous violation so that their vacuum expectation values can realize a small difference. Under this symmetry, three newly introduced right-handed neutrinos rather than the standard model fermions perform an odd transformation. Accordingly the neutrino masses and the charged fermion masses respectively are proportional to the difference and sum of the vacuum expectation values of two Higgs doublets. From a phenomenological perspective, such nearly degenerate Higgs doublets with large cancellation are equivalent to a Dirac seesaw mechanism with high suppression.
If ultralight $(\ll$ eV), bosonic dark matter couples to right handed neutrinos, active neutrino masses and mixing angles depend on the ambient dark matter density. When the neutrino Majorana mass, induced by the dark matter background, is small compared to the Dirac mass, neutrinos are "pseudo-Dirac" fermions that undergo oscillations between nearly degenerate active and sterile states. We present a complete cosmological history for such a scenario and find severe limits from a variety of terrestrial and cosmological observables. For scalar masses in the "fuzzy" dark matter regime ($\sim 10^{…
We demonstrate a new type of cancellation of contributions to the electron and neutron electric dipole moments (EDMs) that occurs in three Higgs doublet models (3HDMs) when CP violation appears in the charged Higgs sector. The cancellation becomes exact when the two physical charged Higgs bosons in the model are degenerate in mass. Depending on the model parameters, degeneracies at the 10\% level are however sufficient to evade current bounds on the electron and neutron EDMs. We demonstrate that viable parameter space remains with both charged Higgs bosons lighter than 500 GeV and large CP-vio…
We compute the full one-loop radiative corrections (including both weak and QED corrections) for two processes $e^{+}e^{-}\to Z h^0,H^0 A^{0}$ in the Inert Higgs Doublet model (IHDM). Up to $O(α_{w})$ and $O(α_{em})$ order, we use FeynArts/FormCalc to compute the one-loop virtual corrections and Feynman Diagram Calculation (FDC) to evaluate the real emission, respectively. Being equipped with these computing tools, we investigate radiative corrections of new physics for both the degenerate and non-degenerate scenarios with three typical collision energies of future electron-positron colliders:…
We explore the parameter space of the type-II two-Higgs-doublet model with softly broken Z2 symmetry, allowing for CP violation in the scalar potential. Imposing theory-motivated and experimentally-driven constraints, we show that as the CP-violating phases are increased, only small regions of parameter space survive, including regions slightly away from the alignment limit. Electroweak oblique parameters and electric dipole moments emerge as most restrictive constraints. We show that imposing these constraints (as well as theoretical bounds such as perturbativity) the masses of the charged an…
We show that simple extensions of two Higgs doublet models consisting of new heavy neutrinos and a singly charged Higgs boson singlet can successfully explain the experimental data on muon and electron anomalous magnetic moments thanks to large chirally-enhanced one-loop level contributions. These contributions arise from the large couplings of inverse seesaw neutrinos with singly charged Higgs bosons and right-handed charged leptons. The regions of parameter space satisfying the experimental data on $(g-2)_{e,μ}$ anomalies allow heavy singly charged Higgs boson masses above the TeV scale, pro…
The recent precision measurement of the $W$-boson mass reveals an exciting hint for the new physics as of the 3-3-1 model. We indicate that the 3-3-1 model contains distinct sources by itself that may cause the $W$-mass deviation, as measured, such as the tree-level $Z$-$Z'$ mixing, the tree-level $W$-$Y$ and $Z$-$Z'$-$X$ mixings, as well as the non-degenerate gauge vector $(X,Y)$ and new Higgs doublets. We point out that the gauge vector doublet negligibly contributes to this mass shift, whereas the rest of the effects with tree-level mixings governed by $Z$-$Z'$ and new Higgs doublets are si…
We investigate the impact of electroweak (EW), scalar and QCD corrections to the full set of decay branching ratios of an additional CP-even Higgs boson ($H$) in the two Higgs doublet model with a softly broken $Z_2$ symmetry. We employ the improved gauge independent on-shell scheme in the renormalized vertices. We particularly focus on the scenario near the alignment limit in which couplings of the discovered 125 GeV Higgs boson ($h$) coincide with those of the standard model while the $Hhh$ coupling vanishes at tree level. The renormalized decay rate for $H\to hh$ can significantly be change…
We study $R^2$-Higgs inflation in a model with two Higgs doublets in which the Higgs sector of the Standard Model is extended by an additional Higgs doublet, thereby four scalar fields are involved in the inflationary evolutions. We first derive the set of equations required to follow the inflationary dynamics in this two Higgs doublet model, allowing a nonminimal coupling between the Higgs-squared and the Ricci scalar $R$, as well as the $R^2$ term in the covariant formalism. By numerically solving the system of equations, we find that, in parameter space where a successful $R^2$-Higgs inflat…
