Current interpretations of the LHC results on two Higgs doublet models (2HDM) underestimate the sensitivity due to neglecting higher order effects. In this work, we revisit the impact of these effects using the current cross-section times branching ratio limits of the $A\to hZ, H \to VV$ and $H\to hh$ channels. With a degenerate heavy Higgs mass $m_Φ$, we find that the LHC searches gain sensitivity to the small $\tanβ$ region after including loop corrections, even close to $\cos(β-α)=0$ which is not reachable at tree level for all types of 2HDM. For a benchmark point with $m_Φ=300$ GeV, $\tanβ<1.8(1.2)$ can be probed for the Type-I(II) 2HDM model for $\cos(β-α)=0$. When the deviation from $\cos(β-α)=0$ is larger, the region for which current searches have exclusion potential becomes larger.
In a two Higgs-doublet model with $D_4$ flavor symmetry, we establish a relation between $\tanβ$ and the Cabibbo angle. Due to a small number of parameters, the quark Yukawa sector of the model is very predictive. The flavor changing neutral currents are small enough to allow for relatively light nonstandard scalars to pass through the flavor constraints.
We study the implications of the LHC heavy neutral Higgs search data on the aligned two Higgs doublet model with softly broken $Z_2$ symmetry. When $\tanβ$ is small, the gluon fusion production of the heavy CP-even scalar $H^0$ or the CP-odd scalar $A^0$ becomes large enough to constrain the model by the current $γγ$, $τ^+τ^-$, and $t\bar{t}$ data. By reinvestigating this small $\tanβ$ region, we find that the indirect constraints like $Δρ$, $b\to s γ$, $ΔM_{B_d}$, $R_b$, $ε_K$, and the perturbativity of running top Yukawa coupling are rather weak to be $\tanβ> 0.5$. The current heavy Higgs se…
We consider a neutrinophilic Higgs scenario where the Standard Model is extended by one additional Higgs doublet and three generations of singlet right-handed Majorana neutrinos. Light neutrino masses are generated through mixing with the heavy neutrinos via Type-I seesaw mechanism when the neutrinophilic Higgs gets a vacuum expectation value (VEV). The Dirac neutrino Yukawa coupling in this scenario can be sizable compared to those in the canonical Type-I seesaw mechanism owing to the small neutrinophilic Higgs VEV giving rise to interesting phenomenological consequences. We have explored var…
In this proceeding we shall explore the potential of a future $e^- \,p$ collider to probe the CP-even scalars in a two Higgs doublet model. We consider Type-I in this study. The mass of the lighter scalar particle is considered to be the Higgs-boson, $m_h = 125$ GeV, and a heavy scalar $m_H = 270$ GeV. The centre of mass energy for the $e^-\,p$ collision is considered as in the Large Hadron Electron Collider and the Future Circular Hadron Electron Collider configurations, by fixing the proton beam energy to be $E_p = 7$ and 50 TeV, respectively, and an electron beam energy of $E_e = 60$ GeV. P…
We discuss the Yukawa coupling unification, a very interesting prediction of the grand unified theory, in the context of scenarios with more than one pair of Higgs doublet since the current LHC constraint has become a problem for the Yukawa unification scenarios with just one pair of Higgs doublet. More than one pair of Higgs doublets can easily arise in missing partner mechanism which solves the doublet-triplet splitting problem. In such a scenario, the Yukawa unification occurs at a medium $\tanβ$ value, e.g., $\sim$ 30, which corresponds to much smaller threshold corrections compared to usu…
In this study of the Inert Doublet Model (IDM), we propose that the dijet + missing transverse energy channel at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will be an effective way of searching for the scalar particles of the IDM. This channel receives contributions from gauge boson fusion, and $t-$channel production, along with contributions from $H^+$ associated production. We perform the analysis including study of the Standard Model (SM) background with assumed systematic uncertainty, and optimise the selection criteria employing suitable cuts on the kinematic variables to maximise the signal signifi…
The type X (lepton-specific) two-Higgs-doublet model at large $\tanβ$ becomes leptophilic and thus allows a light pseudoscalar $A$ accommodating the observed muon $g-2$ deviation without conflicting with various hadronic constraints. On the other hand, it is strongly constrained by leptonic precision observables such as lepton universality test in the neutral and charged currents. Treating all the lepton universality data in a consistent way, we show how the current data constrain the parameter space of $m_A$ and $\tanβ$ for given degenerate masses of heavy Higgs bosons $H$ and $H^\pm$. While …
We revisit the multilepton ($ml$) + ${E\!\!\!\!/_T}$ + $X$ signatures of the Inert Doublet Model (IDM) of dark matter in future LHC experiments for $m =$ 3, 4 and simulate, for the first time, the $m = 5$ case. Here $X$ stands for any number of jets. We illustrate these signals with benchmark points consistent with the usual constraints like unitarity, perturbativity, the precision electroweak data, the observed dark matter relic density of the Universe and, most importantly, the stringent LHC constraints from the post Higgs ($h$) discovery era like the measured $M_h$ and the upper bound on th…
We show that inclusion of a single generation of vector-like leptons in the Two-Higgs Doublet Models significantly enlarges the allowed parameter space consistent with the muon anomalous magnetic moment, as well as with other theoretical and experimental constraints. While previously $(g -2)_μ$ could only be resolved in Type-X scenario by requiring a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson and large $\tan β$, contributions of vector-like leptons via two-loop Barr Zee diagrams broaden the allowed parameter space, allowing $\tan β$ as low as 10 and pseudoscalar masses as large as $\cal{O}$(1 TeV) while f…
Models with two-Higgs-doublets and natural flavour conservation contain $\tan β= v_2 / v_1$ as a physical parameter. We offer here a generalization of a recently proposed idea where only the Cabibbo angle, $θ_\text{c} \simeq 0.22$, was related to $\tan β$ by virtue of the $\mathbb{D}_{4}$ dihedral symmetry group. The original proposal consisted of a massless first generation of quarks and no mixing with the third generation. In our case, through the addition of a third Higgs doublet with a small vacuum-expectation-value but very large masses, thus later decoupling, all quarks become massive an…
We established the allowed parameters of two-Higgs doublet model(2HDM) from flavor physics observables, precisely from rare $B$ meson decays. In our analysis most formidable constraints on the 2HDM parameters arise from the branching ratio of rare radiative $B$ meson decay i.e., $B\to X_{s}γ$. However, the constraints arising from the branching ratio of $B_{s}\toμ^{+}μ^{-}$ decay in $m_{H^{\pm}}-\tanβ$ plane give $m_{H^{\pm}} >$ 80 GeV for the value of $\tanβ\sim 2$, that is in agreement with large electron-positron collider (LEP) data. Furthermore, we also investigate the bounds on the $CP$-e…
