We describe dynamics of transverse spin-helix state (SHS) -- a product state with spatially rotating magnetization -- under anisotropic Heisenberg XXZ spin chain evolution. Due to experimental relevance we especially focus on magnetization dynamics. At long times the $U(1)$ symmetry of the Hamiltonian is restored, leading to the decay of transverse magnetization, which can be described as an exponential decay of a spatially harmonic profile. We show that the dependence of the short and intermediate-time decay timescale, which in principle depends on all different parameters, like the wavevector of the initial helix, the anisotropy, etc., can be described well by a single scaling function. We also briefly discuss the evolution of magnetization current.
This work constructs a well-defined and operational form factor expansion in a model having a massless spectrum of excitations. More precisely, the dynamic two-point functions in the massless regime of the XXZ spin-1/2 chain are expressed in terms of properly regularised series of multiple integrals. These series are obtained by taking, in an appropriate way, the thermodynamic limit of the finite volume form factor expansions. The series are structured in way allowing one to identify directly the contributions to the correlator stemming from the conformal-type excitations on the Fermi surface …
We demonstrate the universal properties of dissipative Tomonaga-Luttinger (TL) liquids by calculating correlation functions and performing finite-size scaling analysis of a non-Hermitian XXZ spin chain as a prototypical model in one-dimensional open quantum many-body systems. Our analytic calculation is based on effective field theory with bosonization, finite-size scaling approach in conformal field theory, and the Bethe-ansatz solution. Our numerical analysis is based on the density-matrix renormalization group generalized to non-Hermitian systems (NH-DMRG). We uncover that the model in the …
Starting from the massless form factor expansion for the two-point dynamical correlation functions obtained recently, I extract the long-distance and large-time asymptotics of these correlators. The analysis yields the critical exponents and associated amplitudes characterising the asymptotics. The results are obtained on the basis of exact and first principle based considerations: they \textit{do not rely, at any stage}, on some hypothetical correspondence with a field theory or the use of any other phenomenological approach. Being based on form factor expansion, the method allows one to clea…
Finite size scaling for a first order phase transition where a continuous symmetry is broken is developed using an approximation of Gaussian probability distributions with a phenomenological "degeneracy" factor included. Predictions are compared with data from Monte Carlo simulations of the three-dimensional, XXZ Heisenberg antiferromagnet in a field in order to study the finite size behavior on a $L \times L \times L$ simple cubic lattice for the first order "spin-flop" transition between the Ising-like antiferromagnetic state and the canted, XY-like state. Our theory predicts that for large …

We calculate the entanglement and the universal boundary entropy (BE) in the critical quantum spin chains, such as the transverse field Ising chain and the XXZ chain, with arbitrary direction of the boundary magnetic field (ADBMF). We determine the boundary universality class that an ADBMF induces. In particular, we show that the induced boundary conformal field theory (BCFT) depends on the point on the Bloch sphere where the boundary magnetic field directs. We show that the classification of the directions boils down to the simple fact that the boundary field breaks the bulk symmetry or does …
We find that the first-order quantum phase transitions~(QPTs) are characterized by intrinsic jumps of relevant operators while the continuous ones are not. Based on such an observation, we propose a bond reversal method where a quantity $\mathcal{D}$, the difference of bond strength~(DBS), is introduced to judge whether a QPT is of first order or not. This method is firstly applied to an exactly solvable spin-$1/2$ \textit{XXZ} Heisenberg chain and a quantum Ising chain with longitudinal field where distinct jumps of $\mathcal{D}$ appear at the first-order transition points for both cases. We …
Information scrambling, characterized by the out-of-time-ordered correlator (OTOC), has attracted much attention, as it sheds new light on chaotic dynamics in quantum many-body systems. The scale invariance, which appears near the quantum critical region in condensed matter physics, is considered to be important for the fast decay of the OTOC. In this paper, we focus on the one-dimensional spin-1/2 XXZ model, which exhibits quantum criticality in a certain parameter region, and investigate the relationship between scrambling and the scale invariance. We quantify scrambling by the averaged OTOC…
We show how the tracer motion of tagged, distinguishable particles can effectively describe transport in various homogeneous quantum many-body systems with constraints. We consider systems of spinful particles on a one-dimensional lattice subjected to constrained spin interactions, such that some or even all multipole moments of the effective spin pattern formed by the particles are conserved. On the one hand, when all moments - and thus the entire spin pattern - are conserved, dynamical spin correlations reduce to tracer motion identically, generically yielding a subdiffusive dynamical expone…
