We show that termination of flips for $\mathbb Q$-factorial klt pairs in dimension $r$ implies existence of minimal models for algebraically integrable foliations of rank $r$ with log canonical singularities over a $\mathbb Q$-factorial klt projective variety.
In his work on birational classification of foliations on projective surfaces, Brunella showed that every regular foliation on a rational surface is algebraically integrable with rational leaves. This led Touzet to conjecture that every regular foliation on a rationally connected manifold is algebraically integrable with rationally connected leaves. Druel proved this conjecture for the case of weak Fano manifolds. In this paper, we extend this result showing that Touzet's conjecture is true for codimension one foliations on threefolds with nef anti-canonical bundle.
We give a characterization theorem for non-degenerated plane foliations of degree different from 1 having a rational first integral. Moreover, we prove that the degree $r$ of a non-degenerated foliation as above provides the minimum number, $r+1$, of points in the projective plane through which infinitely many algebraic leaves of the foliation go.
Given a variety defined over a field of characteristic zero and an algebraically integrable foliation of corank less than or equal to two, we show the existence of a categorical quotient, defined on the non-empty open set of stable points, through which every invariant morphism factors uniquely.
We will work with codimension one holomorphic foliations over the complex projective space, represented by integrable forms $ω\in H^0(Ω^1_{\PP^n}(e))$. Our main result is that, under suitable hypotheses, the Kupka set of the singular locus of $ω\in H^0(Ω^1_{\PP^3}(e))$, defined algebraically as a scheme, turns out to be arithmetically Cohen-Macaulay. As a consequence, we prove the connectedness of the Kupka set in $\PP^n$, and the splitting of the tangent sheaf of the foliation, provided that it is locally free.
Let X be a variety over an algebraically closed field, η:Ω^1_X\to L a one-dimensional singular foliation, and C\subseteq X a projective leaf of η. We prove that 2p_a(C)-2=°(L|C)+λ(C)-°(C\cap S) where p_a(C) is the arithmetic genus, where λ(C) is the colength in the dualizing sheaf of the subsheaf generated by the Kähler differentials, and where S is the singular locus of η. We bound λ(C) and °(C\cap S), and then improve and extend some recent results of Campillo, Carnicer, and de la Fuente, and of du Plessis and Wall.
We prove the Cone Theorem for algebraically integrable foliations. As a consequence, we show that termination of flips implies the b-nefness of the moduli part of a log canonical pair with respect to a contraction, generalising the case of lc trivial fibrations.
