The multiplicity fluctuations are sensitive to QCD phase transition and to the presence of critical point in QCD phase diagram. At critical point a system undergoing phase transition is characterized by large fluctuations in the observables which is an important tool to understand the dynamics of particle production in heavy-ion interactions and phase changes. Multiplicity fluctuations of produced particles is an important observable to characterize the evolving system. Using scaling exponent obtained from the normalized factorial moments of the number of charged hadrons in the two dimensional ($η,ϕ$) phase space, one can learn about the dynamics of system created in these collisions. Events generated using Xe-Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}} = 5.44 $ TeV with string-melting (SM) version of the AMPT model are analyzed and the scaling exponent $(ν)$ for various $p_T$ intervals is determined. It is observed that the calculated value of $ν$ is larger than the universal value 1.304, as is obtained from Ginzburg-Landau theory for second order phase transition. Here we will also present the results of the dependence of the scaling exponent on the transverse momentum bin width.
Event-by-event fluctuations in the spatial patterns in charged particles generated in Pb--Pb collisions at the center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{S_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV are studied within A MultiPhase Transport (AMPT) model. The spatial patterns of the particles generated in the ($η, ϕ$) space for $|η| \le 0.8$ are studied using the methodology of intermittency and erraticity analysis. We find negative intermittency for charged particles generated in a range of $p_{\rm{T}}$ windows. This result contrasts sharply from what is expected for a quark-gluon plasma undergoing hadronization by a second-or…
From the events generated from the MC code of a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model with string melting, the properties of multiplicity fluctuations of charged particles in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=\rm{~2.76 \,TeV}$ are studied. Normalized factorial moments, $F_{q}$, of spatial distributions of the particles have been determined in the framework of intermittency. Those moments are found in some kinematic regions to exhibit scaling behavior at small bin sizes, but not in most regions. However, in relating $F_{q}$ to $F_{2}$ scaling behavior is found in nearly all regions. The …
Correlations between azimuthal anisotropy Fourier harmonics $v_{n}$ ($n = 2, 3, 4$) are studied using the events from PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}=2.76$ TeV generated by the HYDJET++ and AMPT models, and compared to the corresponding experimental results obtained by the ATLAS Collaboration. The Fourier harmonics $v_{n}$ are measured over a wide centrality range using the two-particle azimuthal correlation method. The slopes of the $v_{2}$--$v_{3}$ correlation from both models are in a good agreement with the ATLAS data. The HYDJET++ model predicts a stronger slope for the $v_{…

Transverse Spherocity is an event structure variable which provide an effective way to disentangle the data into hard and soft components of the processes corresponding to events with small and large numbers of multi-parton interactions (MPI), respectively. Recent experimental results in small systems from the LHC suggest the importacnce of transverse spherocity variable in the classification of the events. In this contribution, we have studied the dynamics of identified particle production in Xe-Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV using A Multi-Phase Transport Model (AMPT) and the rec…
The intermittency-type fluctuations as outlined by Bialas and Peschanski in the 1980s is analysed in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 0.9, 7 and 8 TeV from the CMS collaboration at CERN. Our preliminary analysis shows that the intermittency exponents in the bin-averaged scaled factorial moments decrease in magnitude with increasing collision energy at the TeV scale, which suggests that the cascading nature of multiparticle production described by the $α$-model is weakening. We outline possible areas planned for future studies.
The method of horizontal scaled factorial moments as outlined by Bialas and Peschanski was used to conduct intermittency analysis for $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 0.9, 7 and 8 TeV from the CMS experiment. The data was obtained and processed from the CERN Open Data Portal. It was found from 1D analysis that the intermittency strength decreases with increasing energy, indicating that the signature of the $α$-model of random cascading that the former is based on seems to be weakening. Intermittency was stronger in 2D, but did not reveal any clear trend with increasing collision energy.
In this study, we systematically investigate deformed Xe-Xe collisions at 5.44 TeV center of mass energy. We exploit the Monte Carlo HYDJET++ model to compute transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) distribution, nuclear modification factor $R_{AA}$ and relative suppression in terms of $R_{CP}$ as a function of transverse momentum and centrality of collision of charged hadrons in body-body and tip-tip geometrical configurations, respectively. We have compared HYDJET++ model results to those from ALICE experimental data and AMPT model (String-Melting version) results. Minimum bias Xe-Xe collisions show a…
In this paper, we study and predict the charged-particle pseudorapidity multiplicity density ($\frac{dN_{ch}}{dη}$), transverse momentum spectra of identified particles and their ratios in relativistic heavy ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), using the string-melting version of a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model with improved quark coalescence method. Results of the charged-particle pseudorapidity multiplicity density from AMPT model calculations for Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV are compared with the experimental data. Good agreements are generally found betwe…
We present theoretical model comparison with published ALICE results for D-mesons (D$^0$, D$^+$ and D$^{*+}$) in $p$+$p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and $p$+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV. Event generator HIJING, transport calculation of AMPT and calculations from NLO(MNR) and FONLL have been used for this study. We found that HIJING and AMPT model predictions are matching with published D-meson cross-sections in $p$+$p$ collisions, while both under-predict the same in $p$+Pb collisions. Attempts were made to explain the $R_{pPb}$ data using NLO-pQCD(MNR), FONLL and other abo…
Pseudorapidity density, transverse momentum spectra, and elliptic flow studies in Xe-Xe collision systems at $\rm{\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5.44 TeV}$ using the HYDJET++ model
Within the framework of a multiphase transport model (AMPT), the $ϕ$-meson production is studied in d+Au collisions at \srt = {200} GeV in the forward (d-going, $1.2<y<2.2$) and backward (Au-going, $-2.2<y<-1.2$) direction. The AMPT model with string melting version (parton cascade turning-on) describes the experimental data well, while the pure hadronic transport scenario of the AMPT model underestimates the $ϕ$-meson production rate in comparison with the data. Detailed investigations including the rapidity, transverse momentum and collision system size dependencies of $ϕ$-meson nuclear modi…
In this paper we have shown theoretical model comparisons with ALICE results for average D mesons (D$^0$, D$^+$, D$^{*+}$ and $D^+_s$) in $p$+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV for various centralities. Transport calculations of AMPT and calculations from heavy quark pQCD model, NLO(MNR) have been used for the study of $p_T$ dependent nuclear modification factors in terms of collision centrality ($\displaystyle{Q_{pPb}}$) and the central-to-peripheral ratios ($\displaystyle{Q_{cp}}$) of D mesons. It is found that NLO model with its parametrized $\displaystyle{k_T}$ broadening scheme p…
The multiplicity and elliptic flow of charged particles produced in Pb-Pb collisions at center of mass energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV from the Large Hadron Collider are studied in a multiphase transport (AMPT) model. With the standard parameters in the HIJING model, which is used as initial conditions for subsequent partonic and hadronic scatterings in the AMPT model, the resulting multiplicity of final charged particles at mid-pseudorapidity is consistent with the experimental data measured by the ALICE Collaboration. This value is, however, increased by about 25% if the final-state partonic…
The mass ordering of $v_{2}^{hadron}$ is regarded as one of the key signatures of collective behaviour in ultra relativistic heavy ion collisions. This observation has been found to be in compliance with the hydrodynamical response of a strongly interacting system to the initial spatial anisotropy. Flow co-efficients measured with identified particles in p-Pb/d-Au collisions have shown similar mass-splitting of $v_{2}^{hadron}$ indicating towards the presence of collective dynamics in small collision systems. Arguably, small size in the overlap geometry of such colliding systems may not be sui…
Xe+Xe collisions at relativistic energies provide us with an opportunity to study a possible system with deconfined quarks and gluons, whose size is in between those produced by p+p and Pb+Pb collisions. In the present work, we have used AMPT transport model with nuclear deformation to study the identified particle production such as ($π^{+}+π^{-}$), (K$^{+}$+K$^{-}$), $\rm{K}_{s}^0$, (p+$\bar{\rm{p}}$), $ϕ$ and ($Λ+ \barΛ$) in Xe+Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$=5.44 TeV. We study the $p\rm{_T}$-spectra, integrated yield, $p\rm{_T}$-differential and $p\rm{_T}$-integrated particle ratios t…
A beam energy scan has been carried out at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory to search for the onset of deconfinement and a possible critical point where the transition from a Quark Gluon Plasma to a hadronic phase changes from a rapid cross-over to a first order phase transition. Anisotropy in the azimuthal distribution of produced particles such as the second and third harmonics $v_2$ and $v_3$ are expected to be sensitive to the existence of a Quark Gluon Plasma phase and the Equation of State of the system. For this reason, they are of great experimental…
Measurements of the dynamical correlations between neutral and charged kaons in central Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76$ TeV by the ALICE Collaboration display anomalous behavior relative to conventional heavy-ion collision simulators such as AMPT, EPOS, and HIJING. We consider other conventional statistical models, none of which can reproduce the magnitude and centrality dependence of the correlations. The data can be reproduced by coherent emission from domains which grow in number and volume with increasing centrality. We show that the energy released by condensation of strange qu…
We calculated the azimuthal angle dependence of the local spin polarization of hyperons in 200 GeV Au+Au and 2.76 TeV Pb+Pb collisions in the framework of the (3+1)D viscous hydrodynamic model CLVisc with AMPT initial conditions encoding initial orbital angular momenta. We find that the azimuthal angle dependence of the hyperon polarization strongly depends on the choice of the spin chemical potential $Ω_{μν}$. With $Ω_{μν}$ chosen to be proportional to the temperature vorticity, our simulation shows coincidental results with the recent measurements at RHIC.
Nonstatistical fluctuation in pseudorapidity ($η$), azimuthal ($ϕ$), and pseudorapidity-azimuthal ($η-ϕ$) distribution spectra of primary particles of PYTHIA Monash (default) generated $pp$ events at $\sqrt{s}=$ 2.76, 7, and 13 TeV have been studied using the scaled factorial moments technique. A weak intermittent type of emission could be realized for minimum-bias (MB) $pp$ events in $χ(η-ϕ)$ space and a much stronger intermittency could be observed in high-multiplicity (HM) $pp$ events in all $χ(η)$, $χ(ϕ)$, and $χ(η-ϕ)$ spaces at all the studied energies. For HM $pp$ events, at a particular…
Transverse spherocity is an event shape observable having a very unique capability to separate the events based on their geometrical shapes. Recent results from experiments at the LHC suggest that transverse spherocity is an important event classifier in small collision systems. In this work, we use transverse spherocity for the first time in heavy-ion collisions and perform an extensive study on azimuthal anisotropy of charged particles produced in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV using A Multi-Phase Transport Model (AMPT). The azimuthal anisotropy is estimated using the 2-…
A multi-phase transport (AMPT) model has been successful in explaining a wide range of observables in relativistic heavy ion collisions. In this work, we implement a modern set of free proton parton distribution functions and an impact parameter-dependent nuclear shadowing in the AMPT model. After refitting the parameters of the two-component initial condition model to the experimental data on $pp$ and $p \bar p$ total and inelastic cross sections from $\sqrt s \sim $ 4 GeV to 13 TeV, we study particle productions in $pp$ and $AA$ collisions. We show that the updated AMPT model with string mel…
In this paper, we present a novel event-shaped cumulants (ESC) response approach, based on a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model simulations, to analyze p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$= 5.02 TeV. We find that the Pearson coefficients between the subset cumulants of the final harmonics $v_{2}\{2k\}~(k=1,2,3,4)$ and the subset cumulants of initial eccentricity $\varepsilon_{2}\{2k\}$ in the ESC basis are significantly enhanced. These Pearson coefficients are strongly-dependent on the charged multiplicity, the set number of events (SNE), and only weakly-dependent on the order of the multi-parti…
Within a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model, dijet asymmetry is studied in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\rm NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV. It is found that a large dijet asymmetry ($A_{J}$) is produced by strong interactions between jets and partonic matter. It is demonstrated that hadronization and final-state hadronic rescatterings have little effects on $A_{J}$. The final $A_{J}$ is found to be driven by both initial $A_{J}$ and partonic jet energy loss, which is consistent with an increasing jet energy loss in a hot and strongly interacting partonic medium in more central Pb+Pb collisions.

In this paper, we study and predict flow observables in 2.76 A TeV and 5.02 A TeV Pb +Pb collisions, using the iEBE-VISHNU hybrid model with TRENto and AMPT initial conditions and with different forms of the QGP transport coefficients. With properly chosen and tuned parameter sets, our model calculations can nicely describe various flow observables in 2.76 A TeV Pb +Pb collisions, as well as the measured flow harmonics of all charged hadrons in 5.02 A TeV Pb +Pb collisions. We also predict other flow observables, including $v_n(p_T)$ of identified particles, event-by-event $v_n$ distributions,…
Using iEBE-VISHNU hybrid model with the AMPT initial conditions, we study the higher order flow harmonics of identified hadrons in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions. Comparison with the recent ALICE measurements at 20-30\% centrality shows that our calculations nicely describe the data below 2 GeV, especially for the $v_2$, $v_3$ and $v_4$ mass-orderings among pions, kaons and protons. We also extended the calculations to other centrality bins, which presents similar mass-ordering patterns for these flow harmonics as the ones observed at 20-30\% centrality. In the later part of this article, we expl…

Heavy-ion collisions at ultra-relativistic energies provide extreme conditions of energy density and temperature to produce a deconfined state of quarks and gluons. Xenon (Xe) being a deformed nucleus further gives access to the effect of initial geometry on final state particle production. This study focuses on the effect of nuclear deformation and hadron cascade-time on the particle production and elliptic flow using A Multi-Phase Transport (AMPT) model in Xe+Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV. We explore the effect of hadronic cascade-time on identified particle production thro…
Xe+Xe collision at relativistic energies may provide us with a partonic system whose size is approximately in between those produced by p+p and Pb+Pb collisions. The experimental results on anisotropic flow in Xe+Xe and Pb+Pb collisions should provide us with an opportunity to study system size dependence of $v_2$. In the present work, we have used AMPT transport model to calculate charged particles' $v_2$ for Xe+Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=5.44 TeV. We have also tried to demonstrate the no. of constituent quark, $N_q$, and $m_T$ scaling of the elliptic flow. We find that $n_q$ scaling of…
Azimuthal anisotropies of reconstructed jets [$v_{n}^{jet} (n=2, 3)$] have been investigated in Pb+Pb collisions at the center of mass energy $\sqrt{s_{_{\rm NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV within a framework of a multiphase transport (AMPT) model. The $v_{2}^{jet}$ is in good agreement with the recent ATLAS data. However, the $v_{3}^{jet}$ shows a smaller magnitude than $v_{2}^{jet}$, and approaches zero at a larger transverse momentum. It is attributed to the path-length dependence in which the jet energy loss fraction depends on the azimuthal angles with respect to different orders of event planes. The r…
A new subevent cumulant method was recently developed, which can significantly reduce the non-flow contributions in long-range correlations for small systems compared to the standard cumulant method. In this work, we study multi-particle cumulants in $p$+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV with a multiphase transport model (AMPT), including two- and four-particle cumulants ($c_{2}\{2\}$ and $c_{2}\{4\}$) and symmetric cumulants [SC(2, 3) and SC(2, 4)]. Our numerical results show that $v_{2}\{2\}$ is consistent with the experimental data, while the magnitude of $c_{2}\{4\}$ is …
We carry out simulations using a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model to describe the response relation between $v_2$ and $\varepsilon_2$ in Pb-Pb and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV, respectively. To simulate such relation, two methods have been introduced in the calculation: one is the directed response (DR) method, which correlates the outgoing particles with the initial anisotropy directly, and the other one is the cumulants response (CR) method, which is constructed from a cumulants correlation between outgoing particles. Based on calculations of the DR and CR methods, the respo…
Using the event-by-event viscous hydrodynamics VISH2+1 with MC-Glauber, MC-KLN, and AMPT initial conditions, we investigate the correlations of flow harmonics, including the symmetric cumulants $SC^{v}(m, n)$, the normalized symmetric cumulants $NSC(m, n)$, and the Pearson correlation coefficients $C(v_{m}^{2}, v_{n}^{2})$ in 2.76A TeV Pb--Pb collisions. We find $SC^{v}(m, n)$ is sensitive to both initial conditions and the specific shear viscosity $η/s$. A comparison with the recent ALICE data show that our hydrodynamic calculations can qualitatively describe the data of $SC^{v}(3, 2)$ and $S…
Heavy-ion collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory and the Large Hadron Collider at CERN probe matter at extreme conditions of temperature and energy density. Most of the global properties of the collisions can be extracted from the measurements of charged particle multiplicity and pseudorapidity ($η$) distributions. We have shown that the available experimental data on beam energy and centrality dependence of \Eta-distributions in heavy-ion (Au+Au or Pb+Pb) collisions from \sNN=7.7 GeV to 2.76 TeV are reasonably well described by the AMPT model, whic…
Anomalous event-by-event fluctuations of the relative yields of neutral (K$^0_s$) and charged kaon (K$^\pm$) have been predicted to yield a signature for the formation of Disoriented Chiral Condensate (DCC) in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. In this work, we model the production and decay of DCCs in the context of heavy-ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider, and estimate the sensitivity of large acceptance detectors, such as the ALICE detector, towards the identification of such anomalous decays. Our study is based on the robust statistical observable, $ν_{\rm dyn}$, known for its sen…
Long-range correlations for pairs of charged particles with two-particle angular correlations are studied in $pp$ at ${\sqrt{\textit s}}=13$~TeV with various Monte Carlo generators. The correlation functions are constructed as functions of relative azimuthal angle $Δφ$ and pseudorapidity separation $Δη$ for pairs of different particle species with the identified hadrons such as $π$, $K$, $p$, and $Λ$ in wide $Δη$ ranges. Fourier coefficients are extracted for the long-range correlations in several -multiplicity classes using a low-multiplicity template fit method. The method allows to subtract…
The striking resemblance of high multiplicity proton-proton (pp) collisions at the LHC to heavy ion collisions challenges our conventional wisdom on the formation of the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). A consistent explanation of the collectivity phenomena in pp will help us to understand the mechanism that leads to the QGP-like signals in small systems. In this study, we introduce a transport model approach connecting the initial conditions provided by PYTHIA8 with subsequent AMPT rescatterings to study the collective behavior in high energy pp collisions. The multiplicity dependence of light hadro…
Transverse spherocity is an event shape observable, which separates the events based on their geometrical shapes. In this work, we use transverse spherocity to study the identified light flavor production in heavy-ion collisions using A Multi-Phase Transport (AMPT) model. We obtain the elliptic flow coefficients for pions, kaons and protons in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV as a function of transverse spherocity and collision centrality. Also, we study the number of constituent-quark (NCQ) scaling of elliptic flow which interprets the dominance of the quark degrees of free…
We present the first estimates of isothermal compressibility (\kT) of hadronic matter formed in relativistic nuclear collisions ($\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 7.7$ GeV to 2.76~TeV) using experimentally observed quantities. \kT~is related to the fluctuation in particle multiplicity, temperature, and volume of the system formed in the collisions. Multiplicity fluctuations are obtained from the event-by-event distributions of charged particle multiplicities in narrow centrality bins. The dynamical components of the fluctuations are extracted by removing the contributions to the fluctuations from the numbe…
One of the event shape observables, the transverse spherocity ($S_0$), has been studied successfully in small collision systems such as proton-proton collisions at the LHC as a tool to separate jetty and isotropic events. It has a unique capability to distinguish events based on their geometrical shapes. In this work, we report the first implementation of transverse spherocity in heavy-ion collisions using a multi-phase transport model (AMPT). We have performed an extensive study of azimuthal anisotropy of charged particles produced in heavy-ion collisions as a function of transverse spherocit…
Oxygen ($^{16}$O) ions are planned to be injected at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in its next runs, and a day of physics run is anticipated for O+O collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 7 TeV. As the system size of O+O collisions has the final state multiplicity overlap with those produced in pp, p+Pb and Pb+Pb collisions, the study of global properties in O+O collisions may provide a deeper insight into the heavy-ion-like behavior observed in small collision systems and its similarities/differences with a larger system like Pb+Pb collisions. In the present work, we report the predictions fo…
Using the nucleon coalescence model based on kinetic freeze-out nucleons from the 3D MUSIC+UrQMD and the 2D VISHNU hybrid model with a crossover equation of state, we study the multiplicity dependence of deuteron ($d$) and triton ($t$) production from central to peripheral Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=$ 7.7, 14.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 62.4 and 200 GeV and Pb+Pb at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=2.76$ TeV, respectively. It is found that the ratio $N_t N_p/N_d^2$ of the proton yield $N_p$, deuteron yield $N_d$ and triton yield $N_t$ exhibits a scaling behavior in its multiplicity dependence, i.e., …
