Hawking evaporation of primordial black hole (PBH), with mass $3\times 10^{-17} \lesssim M_{\rm PBH}/M_\odot \lesssim 7\times 10^{-17}$ and fractional abundance $0.01 \lesssim f_{\rm PBH} \lesssim 0.5$, well reproduces 511 keV gamma-ray excess from galaxy center. In this work, we investigated the production mechanism of PBHs base on the first-order phase transition induced by quartic effective thermal potential of a scalar field in dark sector. We found the phase transition with vacuum energy, $\mathcal{O}(1)\lesssim B^{1/4}/{\rm MeV} \lesssim \mathcal{O}(100)$, produces the desired PBH mass and abundance fraction. Correlated signatures of gravitational wave and extragalactic gamma-ray from phase transition and black hole evaporation, respectively, are within $μ$Ares and AMEGO/e-ASTROGAM projected sensitivities.
An excess of 511 keV photons has been detected from the central region of the Milky Way. It has been suggested that the positrons responsible for this signal could be produced through the Hawking evaporation of primordial black holes. After evaluating the constraints from INTEGRAL, COMPTEL, and Voyager 1, we find that black holes in mass range of $\sim(1-4)\times10^{16}$ g could potentially produce this signal if they make up a small fraction of the total dark matter density. Proposed MeV-scale gamma-ray telescopes such as AMEGO or e-ASTROGAM should be able to test this class of scenarios by m…
The excess of the 511 keV line from the Milky Way galactic bulge, confirmed by the INTEGRAL detector, is a longstanding mystery. The morphology of the line appears to be proportional to the square of the dark matter density, hinting towards a dark matter origin. On the other hand, in 2020, XENON1T has reported an excess of electrons with a recoil energy of $2-4$ keV. We present a model based on a dark matter of a few MeV mass that decays into a pair of pico-charged particles with a lifetime much larger than the age of the Universe. The magnetic field of the galaxy accumulates these relativisti…
The galactic 511 keV gamma-ray line has been observed since 1970's, and was identified as the result of electron-positron annihilation, but the origin of such positrons is still not clear. Apart from the astrophysical explanations, the possibilities that such positrons come from dark matter (DM) annihilation are also widely studied. Primordial black hole (PBH) is also an extensively studied candidate of DM. If PBHs exist, the DM particles may be gravitationally bound to the PBHs and form halo around PBHs with density spikes. DM annihilation in these density spikes can enhance the production ra…
We propose models of Dark Matter that account for the 511 keV photon emission from the Galactic Centre, compatibly with experimental constraints and theoretical consistency, and where the relic abundance is achieved via p-wave annihilations or, in inelastic models, via co-annihilations. Due to the Dark Matter component that is inevitably upscattered by the Sun, these models generically predict keV electron recoils at detectors on Earth, and could naturally explain the excess recently reported by the XENON1T collaboration. The very small number of free parameters make these ideas testable by de…
The $B-L$ gauge symmetry motivated from the successful generation of the seesaw mechanism and leptogenesis. We show that if the $B-L$ gauge boson constitutes a small fraction of the dark matter (DM) it can explain the Galactic $511$ keV emission via the decay into an electron-positron pair. We find the model parameter space that is consistent with the seesaw mechanism, cosmologically viable, and accounting for the amplitude of the Galactic positron line. From this parameter space we derive an upper bound of the gauge boson mass and then an bound of the positron injection energy $\lesssim3$ MeV…
The explorations of alternative dark matter (DM) candidates beyond WIMP motivated primordial black holes (PBHs) or sub-GeV DM particle in the Milky Way. Neutrinos from PBH evaporation at the present times play as a novel medium boosting sub-GeV DM and leaving signatures in the terrestrial experiments. We explore the boosted DM by the neutrino flux from PBH evaporation (PBH$ν$BDM) so as to connect the macroscopic PBHs to sub-GeV DM particle. We consider this PBH$ν$BDM scenario to interpret the XENON1T keV excess. The projected bounds on the sub-GeV DM-electron scattering cross section and the f…

We present two complementary NuSTAR x-ray searches for keV-scale dark matter decaying to mono-energetic photons in the Milky Way halo. In the first, we utilize the known intensity pattern of unfocused stray light across the detector planes -- the dominant source of photons from diffuse sources -- to separate astrophysical emission from internal instrument backgrounds using ${\sim}$7-Ms/detector deep blank-sky exposures. In the second, we present an updated parametric model of the full NuSTAR instrument background, allowing us to leverage the statistical power of an independent ${\sim}$20-Ms/de…
A small admixture of dark matter gravitationally bound to the proto-Solar gas cloud could be adiabatically contracted into Earth-crossing orbits with a local density comparable to (or even exceeding) the Galactic halo density. We show that a significant fraction (~25%) of the resulting 'Solar halo' would remain today, surviving perturbations from Jupiter and close encounters with Earth, and would be potentially observable in direct detection experiments. The population would have distinct signatures, including a nonstandard annual modulation and extremely low velocity dispersion compared with …
