We attempt to simultaneously explain the recently observed 3.55 keV X-ray line in the analysis of XMM-Newton telescope data and the galactic center gamma ray excess observed by the Fermi gamma ray space telescope within an abelian gauge extension of standard model. We consider a two component dark matter scenario with tree level mass difference 3.55 keV such that the heavier one can decay into the lighter one and a photon with energy 3.55 keV. The lighter dark matter candidate is protected from decaying into the standard model particles by a remnant $Z_2$ symmetry into which the abelian gauge symmetry gets spontaneously broken. If the mass of the dark matter particle is chosen to be within $31-40$ GeV, then this model can also explain the galactic center gamma ray excess if the dark matter annihilation into $b\bar{b}$ pairs has a cross section of $\langle σv \rangle \simeq (1.4-2.0) \times 10^{-26} \; \text{cm}^3/\text{s}$. We constrain the model from the requirement of producing correct dark matter relic density, 3.55 keV X-ray line flux and galactic center gamma ray excess. We also impose the bounds coming from dark matter direct detection experiments as well as collider limits on additional gauge boson mass and gauge coupling. We also briefly discuss how this model can give rise to sub-eV neutrino masses at tree level as well as one-loop level while keeping the dark matter mass at few tens of GeV. We also constrain the model parameters from the requirement of keeping the one-loop mass difference between two dark matter particles below a keV. We find that the constraints from light neutrino mass and keV mass splitting between two dark matter components show more preference for opposite $CP$ eigenvalues of the two fermion singlet dark matter candidates in the model
There have been several reports of a detection of an unexplained excess of X-ray emission at $\simeq$ 3.5 keV in astrophysical systems. One interpretation of this excess is the decay of sterile neutrino dark matter. The most influential study to date analysed 73 clusters observed by the XMM-Newton satellite. We explore evidence for a $\simeq$ 3.5 keV excess in the XMM-PN spectra of 117 redMaPPer galaxy clusters ($0.1 < z < 0.6$). In our analysis of individual spectra, we identify three systems with an excess of flux at $\simeq$ 3.5 keV. In one case (XCS J0003.3+0204) this excess may result fro…
Recent works of [1402.2301,1402.4119], claiming the detection of extra emission line with energy ~3.5 keV in X-ray spectra of certain clusters of galaxies and nearby Andromeda galaxy, have raised considerable interest in astrophysics and particle physics communities. A number of new observational studies claim detection or non-detection of the extra line in X-ray spectra of various cosmic objects. In this review I summarize existing results of these studies, overview possible interpretations of the extra line, including intriguing connection with radiatively decaying dark matter, and show futu…
The excess of the 511 keV line from the Milky Way galactic bulge, confirmed by the INTEGRAL detector, is a longstanding mystery. The morphology of the line appears to be proportional to the square of the dark matter density, hinting towards a dark matter origin. On the other hand, in 2020, XENON1T has reported an excess of electrons with a recoil energy of $2-4$ keV. We present a model based on a dark matter of a few MeV mass that decays into a pair of pico-charged particles with a lifetime much larger than the age of the Universe. The magnetic field of the galaxy accumulates these relativisti…
We study an exciting dark matter scenario in a radiative neutrino model to explain the X-ray line signal at $3.55$ keV recently reported by XMN-Newton X-ray observatory using data of various galaxy clusters and Andromeda galaxy. We show that the required large cross section for the up-scattering process to explain the X-ray line can be obtained via the resonance of the pseudo-scalar. Moreover this model can be compatible with the thermal production of dark matter and the constraint from the direct detection experiment.
The radiative decay of sterile neutrinos with typical masses of 10 keV is investigated in the presence of a strong magnetic field and degenerate plasma. Full account is taken of the strongly modified photon dispersion relation relative to vacuum. The limiting cases of relativistic and non-relativistic plasma are analyzed. The decay rate in a strongly magnetized plasma as a function of the electron number density is compared with the un-magnetized case. We find that a strong magnetic field suppresses the catalyzing influence of the plasma on the decay rate.
An excess of 511 keV photons has been detected from the central region of the Milky Way. It has been suggested that the positrons responsible for this signal could be produced through the Hawking evaporation of primordial black holes. After evaluating the constraints from INTEGRAL, COMPTEL, and Voyager 1, we find that black holes in mass range of $\sim(1-4)\times10^{16}$ g could potentially produce this signal if they make up a small fraction of the total dark matter density. Proposed MeV-scale gamma-ray telescopes such as AMEGO or e-ASTROGAM should be able to test this class of scenarios by m…
Recent data from Reticulum II (RetII) require the energy range of the FermiLAT $γ$-excess to be $\sim$ $2-10$ GeV. We adjust our unified nonthermal Dark Matter (DM) model to accommodate this. We have two extra scalars beyond the Standard Model to also explain 3.55 keV X-ray line. Now the mass of the heavier of them has to be increased to lie around 250 GeV, while that of the lighter one remains at 7.1 keV. This requires a new seed mechanism for the $γ$-excess and new Boltzmann equations for the generation of the DM relic density. All concerned data for RetII and the X-ray line can now be fitte…
We propose two possibilities to explain an excess of electron/positron flux around 1.4 TeV recently reported by Dark Matter Explore (DAMPE) in the framework of radiative seesaw models where one of them provides a fermionic dark matter candidate, and the other one provides a bosonic dark matter candidate. We also show unique features of both models regarding neutrino mass structure.
The morphology and characteristics of the so-called GeV gamma-ray excess detected in the Milky Way lead us to speculate about a possible common origin with the 511 keV line mapped by the SPI experiment about ten years ago. In the previous version of our paper, we assumed 30 GeV dark matter particles annihilating into $b \bar{b}$ and obtained both a morphology and a 511 keV flux (ϕ_{511 keV} ~ 10^{-3} ph/cm^2/s) in agreement with SPI observation. However our estimates assumed a negligible number density of electrons in the bulge which lead to an artificial increase in the flux (mostly due to ne…
In this paper we introduce a light Dirac particle $ψ$ as thermal dark matter candidate in a $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ model. Together with the new gauge boson $X$, we find a possible parameter space with $m_X \simeq 20$ MeV, $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ coupling $g_X \simeq 5 \cdot 10^{-4}$ and $m_ψ\gtrsim m_X/2$ where the $(g-2)_μ$ anomaly, dark matter, the Hubble tension, and (part of) the excess of $511$ keV photons from the region near the galactic center can be explained simultaneously. This model is safe from current experimental and astrophysical constraints, but can be probed by the next generation of neut…
The XENON1T excess of keV electron recoil events may be induced by the scattering of electrons and long-lived particles with MeV mass and high-speed. We consider a tangible model composed of two scalar MeV dark matter (DM) particles $S_A$ and $S_B$ to interpret the XENON1T keV excess via boosted $S_B$. A small mass splitting $m_{S_A}-m_{S_B}>0$ is introduced and the boosted $S_B$ can be produced by the dark annihilation process of $S_A S_A^\dagger \to ϕ\to S_B S_B^\dagger$ via a resonant scalar $ϕ$. The $S_B-$electron scattering is intermediated by a vector boson $X$. Although the constraints …
In this work, we systematically study the radiative decays and magnetic moments of the charmed and bottom vector mesons with chiral perturbation theory up to one-loop level. We present the results in SU(2) and SU(3) cases with the mass splitting in loop diagrams kept and unkept, respectively. The obtained decay rates for $D^\ast$ and $B^\ast$ mesons in SU(3) case with the mass splitting kept are: $Γ_{\bar{D}^{\ast 0}\to \bar{D}^0γ}=16.2^{+6.5}_{-6.0}$ keV, $Γ_{D^{\ast-}\to D^-γ}=0.73^{+0.7}_{-0.3}$ keV, $Γ_{D_s^{\ast-}\to D_s^-γ}= 0.32^{+0.3}_{-0.3}$ keV, and $Γ_{B^{\ast+}\to B^+γ}=0.58^{+0.2}…
In this short letter, we find that a magnetic transition dipole moment between tau and sterile neutrinos can account for the XENON1T excess events. Unlike the ordinary neutrino dipole moment, the introduction of the new sterile mass scale allows for astrophysical bounds to be suppressed. Interestingly, the best-fit regions that are compatible with the SN1987A imply either boron-8 or CNO neutrinos as the source flux. We find that sterile neutrinos of either $\sim$ 260 keV or in the $\sim$(500 - 800) keV mass range are capable of evading astrophysical constraints while being able to successfully…
We study scalar and fermionic crossing two-component dark matter (C2CDM) models with $ U(1)_X $ dark gauge symmetry. This $ U(1)_X $ gauge symmetry is broken via the dark Higgs mechanism of a dark Higgs field $Φ$ and the dark photon becomes massive. On the other hand, the same dark Higgs field $Φ$ also serves as a bridge between each component of two DM sectors such that the dark flavor-changing neutral current (DFCNC) interaction between them is induced. Moreover, the mass splitting between these two DM sectors is generated after $ U(1)_X $ gauge symmetry breaking by nonzero $\langle Φ\rangle…
We propose a quasi-degenerate dark matter scenario to simultaneously explain the $1.4\,\textrm{TeV}$ peak in the high-energy cosmic-ray electron-positron spectrum reported by the DAMPE collaboration very recently and the $3.5\,\textrm{keV}$ X-ray line observed in galaxies clusters and from the Galactic centre and confirmed by the Chandra and NuSTAR satellites. We consider a dark $SU(2)'\times U(1)'$ gauge symmetry under which the dark matter is a Dirac fermion doublet composed of two $SU(2)'$ doublets with non-trivial $U(1)'$ charges. At one-loop level the two dark fermion components can have …
We provide updates to the limits on solar emission of dark photons, or more generally any light vector particle coupled to the electron vector current. The recent 2019 and 2020 electronic recoil data from XENON1T now provides more stringent constraints on these models than stellar energy loss in the sub-keV mass region. We also show that solar emission of dark photons does not provide a good fit to the recent XENON1T excess in the 2-5 keV energy bins. In contrast, the absorption of 2-4 keV mass dark photons that saturate the local dark matter mass density does provide a good fit to the excess,…
We attempt to explain simultaneously the Galactic center gamma-ray excess and the 3.5 keV X-ray line from the Perseus cluster based on a class of non-abelian $SU(2)$ DM models, in which the dark matter and an excited state comprise a "dark" $SU(2)$ doublet. The non-abelian group kinetically mixes with the standard model gauge group via dimensions-5 operators. The dark matter particles annihilate into standard model fermions, followed by fragmentation and bremsstrahlung, and thus producing a continuous spectrum of gamma-rays. On the other hand, the dark matter particles can annihilate into a pa…
We study the radiative decays $Z_c(3900)/Z_c(4020) \to γχ_{cJ}(γχ_{cJ}^\prime)$ ($J=0, 1, 2$), with the assumption that the $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z_c(4020)$ couple strongly to $D\bar D^* +c.c$ and $D^*{\bar D}^*$ channel, respectively. By considering the contributions of intermediate charmed mesons triangle loops within an effective Lagrangian approach, it is shown that the calculated partial widths of $Z_c(3900) \to γχ_{cJ}$ are about a few hundreds keVs, while the obtained partial widths $Z_c(4020) \to γχ_{cJ}$ are about tens of keVs. The predicted partial widths of $Z_c(3900)\toγχ_{c0,1}^\prime$…
In the light of the $e^{+}+e^{-}$ excess observed by DAMPE experiment, we propose an anomaly-free radiative seesaw model with an alternative leptophilic $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry. In the model, only right-handed leptons are charged under $U(1)_X$ symmetry. The tiny Dirac neutrino masses are generated at one-loop level and charged leptons acquire masses though the type-I seesaw-like mechanism with heavy intermediate fermions. In order to cancel the anomaly, irrational $U(1)_{X}$ charge numbers are assigned to some new particles. After the spontaneous breaking of $U(1)_{X}$ symmetry, the dark $Z_{…
Using the dynamical diquark model, we calculate the electric-dipole radiative decay widths to $X(3872)$ of the lightest negative-parity exotic candidates, including the four $I=0$, $J^{PC} \! = \! 1^{--}$ ("$Y$") states. The $O$(100--1000 keV) values obtained test the hypothesis of a common substructure shared by all of these states. We also calculate the magnetic-dipole radiative decay width for $Z_c(4020)^0 \! \to \! γX(3872)$, and find it to be rather smaller ($<$~10 keV) than its predicted value in molecular models.
We investigate a possibility for explaining the recently announced 750\,GeV diphoton excess by the ATLAS and the CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in a model with multiple doubly charged particles, which was originally suggested for explaining tiny neutrino masses through a three-loop effect in a natural way. The enhanced radiatively generated effective coupling of a new singlet scalar $S$ with diphoton with multiple charged particles in the loop enlarges the production rate of $S$ in $pp\to S+X$ via photon fusion process and also the decay width $Γ(S\to γγ)$ even without assuming a tree level p…
\emph{Hitomi} observations of Perseus with the Soft X-ray Spectrometer (SXS) provide a high-resolution look at the 3.5 keV feature reported by multiple groups in the Perseus cluster. The \emph{Hitomi} spectrum -- which involves the sum of diffuse cluster emission and the point-like central Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) -- does not show any excess at $E \sim 3.5 {\rm keV}$, giving an apparent inconsistency with previous observations of excess diffuse emission. We point out that 2009 \emph{Chandra} data reveals a strong dip in the AGN spectrum at $E = (3.54 \pm 0.02) {\rm keV}$ (cluster frame) -…
The Fermi gamma ray space telescope data have pointed towards an excess of gamma rays with a peak around $1-3$ GeV in the region surrounding the galactic center. This anomalous excess can be described well by a dark matter candidate having mass in the range $31-40$ GeV annihilating into $b\bar{b}$ pairs with a cross section of $< σv > \simeq (1.4-2.0) \times 10^{-26} \; \text{cm}^3/\text{s}$. In this work we explore the possibility of having such a dark matter candidate within the framework of a radiative neutrino mass model. The model is a simple extension of the standard model by an addition…
In the scenario with a multiplicity of sectors which independently break supersymmetry, multiplicity of goldstini are predicted. We propose a new interpretation of the electron recoil excess at 2-7 keV observed in the XENON1T experiment with very long-lived goldstini DM elastically scattering off the electrons. The goldstini DM can be boosted by the late-decay of the other nearly degenerate (long-lived) goldstini DM, with their tiny mass difference being converted into kinetic energy of the lighter goldstini DM and neutrinos. We show that viable parameter space can be found which can explain t…
We propose a one-loop induced neutrino mass model with hidden $U(1)$ gauge symmetry, in which we successfully involve a bosonic dark matter (DM) candidate propagating inside a loop diagram in neutrino mass generation to explain the $e^+e^-$ excess recently reported by the DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) experiment. In our scenario dark matter annihilates into four leptons through $Z'$ boson as DM DM $\to Z' Z' (Z' \to \ell^+ \ell^-)$ and $Z'$ decays into leptons via one-loop effect. We then investigate branching ratios of $Z'$ taking into account lepton flavor violations and neutrino osc…
We examine the claimed excess X-ray line emission near 3.5 keV including both a new analysis of XMM-Newton observations of the Milky Way center and a reanalysis of the data on M~31 and clusters. In no case do we find conclusive evidence for an excess. In the case of the Galactic center we show that known plasma lines, including in particular K XVIII lines at 3.48 and 3.52 keV, provide a satisfactory fit to the XMM data. We estimate the expected flux of the K XVIII lines and find that the measured line flux falls squarely within the predicted range based on the brightness of other well-measured…
We study the scenario in which the Standard model is augmented by three generations of right-handed neutrinos and a scalar doublet. The newly introduced fields share an odd charge under a $\mathbb{Z}_2$ parity symmetry. This model, commonly known as "Scotogenic", was designed to provide a mechanism for active neutrino mass generation as well as a viable dark matter candidate. In this paper we consider a scenario in which the dark matter particle is at the keV-scale. Such particle is free from X-ray limits due to the unbroken parity symmetry that forbids the mixing between active and right-hand…
The identity of dark matter is being sought with increasingly sensitive and voluminous underground detectors. Recently the XENON1T collaboration reported excess electronic recoil events, with most of these having recoil energies around $1-30$ keV. We show that a straightforward model of inelastic dark matter produced via early universe thermal freeze-out annihilation can account for the XENON1T excess. Remarkably, this dark matter model consists of a few simple elements: sub-GeV mass Dirac fermion dark matter coupled to a lighter dark photon kinetically mixed with the Standard Model photon. A …
If the unidentified emission line at ~3.55 keV previously found in spectra of nearby galaxies and galaxy clusters is due to radiatively decaying dark matter, one should detect the signal of comparable strength from many cosmic objects of different nature. By studying existing dark matter distributions in galaxy clusters we identified top-19 of them observed by XMM-Newton X-ray cosmic mission, and analyzed the data for the presence of the new line. In 8 of them, we identified > 2 sigma positive line-like residuals with average position 3.52 +/- 0.08 keV in the emitter's frame. Their observed pr…
We present a minimal left-right dark matter framework that can simultaneously explain the recently observed 3.55 keV X-ray line from several galaxy clusters and gauge coupling unification at high energy scale. Adopting a minimal dark matter strategy, we consider both left and right handed triplet fermionic dark matter candidates which are stable by virtue of a remnant $\mathcal{Z}_2\simeq (-1)^{B-L}$ symmetry arising after the spontaneous symmetry breaking of left-right gauge symmetry to that of the standard model. A scalar bitriplet field is incorporated whose first role is to allow radiative…
We consider an extension of Zee-Babu model to explain the smallness of neutrino masses. (1) We extend the lepton number symmetry of the original model to local $B-L$ symmetry. (2) We introduce three Dirac dark matter candidates with flavor-dependent $B-L$ charges. After the spontaneous breaking of $B-L$, a discrete symmetry $Z_6$ remains, which guarantees the stability of dark matter. Then the model can explain the 3.5 keV X-ray line signal with decaying dark matter. We also introduce a real scalar field which is singlet under both the SM and $U(1)_{B-L}$ and can explain the current relic abun…

We have systematically investigated the spin-$\frac{3}{2}$ to spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ doubly charmed baryon transition magnetic moments to the next-to-next-to-leading order in the heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory (HBChPT). Numerical results of transition magnetic moments and decay widths are presented to the next-to-leading order: $μ_{Ξ_{cc}^{*++}\rightarrowΞ_{cc}^{++}}=-2.35μ_{N}$, $μ_{Ξ_{cc}^{*+}\rightarrowΞ_{cc}^{+}}=1.55μ_{N}$, $μ_{Ω_{cc}^{*+}\rightarrowΩ_{cc}^{+}}=1.54μ_{N}$, $Γ_{Ξ_{cc}^{*++}\rightarrowΞ_{cc}^{++}}=22.0$ keV, $Γ_{Ξ_{cc}^{*+}\rightarrowΞ_{cc}^{+}}=9.57$ keV, $Γ_{Ω_{cc}^{…
The phenomenological model with three active and three sterile neutrinos is used for interpretation of the observed XENON1T excess of electronic recoil events in the 1 -- 7 keV energy region. Assuming two sterile neutrinos with appropriate mass values decay while the third sterile neutrino is stable it is possible to explain the observed energy spectrum of electronic recoil events. Moreover using this approach three peaks in the 1 -- 7 keV energy region are predicted. Dark bosons have to mix to only a small extent with photons which can be emitted in this region. The possible existence of the …
A two component model of nonthermal dark matter is formulated to simultaneously explain the Fermi-LAT results indicating a $γ$-ray excess observed from our Galactic Centre in the 1-3 GeV energy range and the detection of an X-ray line at 3.55 keV from extragalactic sources. Two additional Standard Model singlet scalar fields $S_2$ and $S_3$ are introduced. These fields couple among themselves and with the Standard Model Higgs doublet $H$. The interaction terms among the scalar fields, namely $H$, $S_2$ and $S_3$, are constrained by the application of a discrete $\mathbb{Z}_2\times \mathbb{Z}^\…
Radiative decays of $X(3872)$ are studied in single-channel approximation (SCA) and in the coupled-channel (CC) approach, where the decay channels $D\bar D^*$ are described with the string breaking mechanism. In SCA the transition rate $\tildeΓ_2=Γ(2\,{}^3P_1 \rightarrow ψγ)=71.8$~keV and large $\tildeΓ_1=Γ(2\,{}^3P_1\rightarrow J/ψγ)=85.4$~keV are obtained, giving for their ratio the value $\tilde{R_{ψγ}}=\frac{\tildeΓ_2}{\tildeΓ_1}=0.84$. In the CC approach three factors are shown to be equally important. First, the admixture of the $1\,{}^3P_1$ component in the normalized wave function of $…
We extend the Dirac Scotogenic model with the aim of realizing neutrino masses together with the mass of a keV-scale dark matter (DM) candidate via the same one-loop topology. Two of the Standard Model (SM) neutrinos become massive Dirac fermions while the third one remains massless. Our particle content is motivated by an anomaly free $\text{U}(1)_\text{B-L}$ gauge symmetry with exotic irrational charges and we need to enforce an additional $\mathcal{Z}_5$ symmetry. The dark matter candidate does not mix with the active neutrinos and does not have any decay modes to SM particles. DM is produc…
We performed the deepest search for an X-ray emission line between 0.5 and 7 keV from non-baryonic dark matter with the Suzaku XIS. Dark matter associated with the Milky Way galaxy was selected as the target to obtain the best signal-to-noise ratio. From the Suzaku archive, we selected 187 data sets of blank sky regions which were dominated by the X-ray diffuse background. The data sets were from 2005 to 2013. Instrumental responses were adjusted by multiple calibration data sets of the Crab Nebula. We also improved the technique of subtracting lines of instrumental origin. These energy spectr…
We study a three loop induced neutrino mass model with exotic vector-like isospin doublet leptons which contain a dark matter candidate. Then we explore lepton flavor violations, and dark matter physics in co-annihilation system. In this paper the nearly degenerate Majorana fermion dark matter can naturally be achieved at the two loop level, while the mass splitting can be larger than ${\cal O}$(200) keV which is required from the constraint of the direct detection search with spin independent inelastic scattering through $Z$ boson portal. As a result a monochromatic photon excess, its thresho…
We propose an attractive model that excess of electron recoil events around 1-5 keV reported by the XENON1T collaboration nicely links to the tiny neutrino masses based on a radiative seesaw scenario. Our dark matter(DM) is an isospin singlet inert boson that plays an role in generating non-vanishing neutrino mass at one-loop level, and this DM inelastically interacts with a pair of electrons at one-loop level that is required to explain the XENON1T anomaly. It is also demanded that the mass difference between an excited DM and DM has to be of the order keV. Interestingly, the small mass diffe…
We propose boosted dark matter (BDM) as a possible explanation for the excess of keV electron recoil events observed by XENON1T. BDM particles have velocities much larger than those typical of virialized dark matter, and, as such, BDM-electron scattering can naturally produce keV electron recoils. We show that the required BDM-electron scattering cross sections can be easily realized in a simple model with a heavy vector mediator. Though these cross sections are too large for BDM to escape from the Sun, the BDM flux can originate from the Galactic Center or from halo dark matter annihilations.…
The XENON1T dark matter experiment recently reported 0.65 ton-year exposure measurement on electron recoils , which shows an excess in $2\sim 3$ KeV recoils above the detector background. In this paper we present a Pseudo-Dirac dark matter scenario to explain the excess via inelastic dark matter-electron scattering. With a KeV scale mass splitting between the two components of the Pseudo-Dirac dark matter, the slightly excited component can down-scatter on electrons. The desired dark matter masses are about 10 GeV with a 4 KeV mass-splitting and unity coupling to electrons, which generate the …
The $Ξ_b(6227)$ baryon with the quantum number $J^P=1/2^{-}$ is considered as a molecular state composed of a $Σ_b$ baryon and $\bar{K}$ meson. The partial decay widths of the $Σ_b\bar{K}$ molecular state into $Ξ_bγ$ and $Ξ_b^{'}γ$ final states through hadronic loops are evaluated with the help of the effective Lagrangians. The partial widths for the $Ξ_b(6227)\toγΞ_b$ and $Ξ_b(6227)\toγΞ^{'}_b$ are evaluated to be about 1.50-1.02 KeV and 17.56-24.91 KeV, respectively, which may be accessible for the LHCb. Based on our results we argue that an experimental determination of the radiative decay …
