In this paper, we consider the 2-D generalized surface quasi-geostrophic equation with the velocity $v$ determined by $v=\mathcal{R}^{\perp}Λ^{γ-1}θ$. It is shown that the $L^p$ type energy norm of weak solutions is conserved provided $θ\in L^{p+1}(0,T; {B}^{\fracγ{3}}_{p+1, c(\mathbb{N})})$ for $0<γ<\frac32$ or $θ\in L^{p+1}(0,T; {B}^α_{p+1,\infty})~\text{for any}~γ-1<α<1 \text{ with} ~\frac{3}{2}\leq γ<2$. Moreover, we also prove that the helicity of weak solutions satisfying $\nablaθ\in L^{3}(0,T;\dot{B}_{3,c(\mathbb{N})}^{\fracγ{3}})$ for $0<γ<\frac32$ or $\nablaθ\in L^{3}(0,T; \dot{B}^α_{3,\infty})~\text{for any}~γ-1<α<1 \text{ with} ~\frac{3}{2}\leq γ<2$ is invariant. Therefore, the accurate relationships between the critical regularity for the energy (helicity) conservation of the weak solutions and the regularity of velocity in 2-D generalized quasi-geostrophic equation are presented.

In [25], Moffatt introduced the concept of helicity in an inviscid fluid and examined the helicity preservation of smooth solution to barotropic compressible flow. In this paper, it is shown that the weak solutions of the above system in Onsager type spaces $\dot{B}^{1/3}_{p,c(\mathbb{N})}$ guarantee the conservation of the helicity. The parallel results of homogeneous incompressible Euler equations and the surface quasi-geostrophic equation are also obtained.
We study the weak solutions to the electron-MHD system and obtain a conditional uniqueness result. In addition, we prove conservation of helicity for weak solutions to the electron-MHD system under a geometric condition.
In this work we investigate the helicity regularity for weak solutions of the incompressible Euler equations. To prove regularity and conservation of the helicity we will threat the velocity $u$ and its $curl\, u$ as two independent functions and we mainly show that the helicity is a constant of motion assuming $u \in L^{2r}_t(C^θ_x)$ and $curl \,u \in L^κ_t(W^{α,1}_x)$ where $r,κ$ are conjugate Hölder exponents and $2θ+α\geq 1$. Using the same techniques we also show that the helicity has a suitable Hölder regularity even in the range where it is not necessarily constant.
In this paper, we prove the energy and cross-helicity conservation of weak solutions to the three-dimensional ideal MHD equations in bounded domain under the interior Besov regularity conditions which are exactly same as the three-dimensional periodic domain case in \cite{Caflisch 97}, and the boundedness and the Besov-type continuity for both the velocity and magnetic fields near the boundary, which seem crucial for the bounded domain case due to the boundary effect. Note that the Besov-type continuity condition near the boundary is consistent with the interior Besov regularity, which is a ne…
In this paper, we are concerned with the energy and magnetic helicity conservation of weak solutions for both the electron and Hall magnetohydrodynamic equations. Various sufficient criteria to ensure the energy and magnetic helicity conservation in Onsager's critical spaces $\underline{B}^α_{p,VMO}$ and $B^α_{p,c(\mathbb{N})}$ in these systems are established. Moreover, for the E-MHD equations, we observe that the conservation criteria of energy and magnetic helicity to the E-MHD equations correspond to the helicity and energy to the ideal incompressible Euler equations, respectively.
Well-posedness, magnetic helicity conservation, inviscid limit and asymptotic stability for the generalized Navier-Stokes-Maxwell equations with the Hall effect
We consider quasi-geostrophic (Q-G) models in two- and three-layers that are useful in theoretical studies of planetary atmospheres and oceans. In these models, the streamfunctions are given by (1+2) partial differen- tial systems of evolution equations. A two-layer Q-G model, in a simpli- fied version, is dependent exclusively on the Rossby radius of deformation. However, the f-plane Q-G point vortex model contains factors such as the density, thickness of each layer, the Coriolis parameter, and the constant of gravitational acceleration, and this two-layered model admits a lesser number of L…
We revisit the issue of conservation of magnetic helicity and the Woltjer-Taylor relaxation theory in magnetohydrodynamics in the context of weak solutions. We introduce a relaxed system for the ideal MHD system, which decouples the effects of hydrodynamic turbulence such as the appearance of a Reynolds stress term from the magnetic helicity conservation in a manner consistent with observations in plasma turbulence. As by-products we answer two open questions in the field: We show the sharpness of the $L^3$ integrability condition for magnetic helicity conservation and provide turbulent bounde…
We prove Taylor's conjecture which says that in 3D MHD, magnetic helicity is conserved in the ideal limit in bounded, simply connected, perfectly conducting domains. When the domain is multiply connected, magnetic helicity depends on the vector potential of the magnetic field. In that setting we show that magnetic helicity is conserved for a large and natural class of vector potentials but not in general for all vector potentials. As an analogue of Taylor's conjecture in 2D, we show that mean square magnetic potential is conserved in the ideal limit, even in multiply connected domains.
We show that ideal 2D MHD does not possess weak solutions (or even subsolutions) with compact support in time and non-trivial magnetic field. We also show that the $Λ$-convex hull of ideal MHD has empty interior in both 2D and 3D; this is seen by finding suitable $Λ$-convex functions. As a consequence we show that mean-square magnetic potential is conserved in 2D by subsolutions and weak limits of solutions in the physically natural energy space $L^\infty_t L^2_x$, and in 3D we show the conservation of magnetic helicity by $L^3$-integrable subsolutions and weak limits of solutions. However, in…
We show that in 3-dimensional ideal magnetohydrodynamics there exist infinitely many bounded solutions that are compactly supported in space-time and have non-trivial velocity and magnetic fields. The solutions violate conservation of total energy and cross helicity, but preserve magnetic helicity. For the 2-dimensional case we show that, in contrast, no nontrivial compactly supported solutions exist in the energy space.
