Recently, a hadronic state named $η_1(1855)$, about 1.86 GeV, was observed in the BESIII experiment. This finding has a peculiar interest due to its exotic quantum number $J^{PC}=1^{-+}$. In this paper, we examine the tetraquark interpretation for the structure of $η_1(1855)$ in the configurations of $[1_c]_{\bar{s}s}\otimes[1_c]_{\bar{q}q}$ and $[1_c]_{\bar{s}q}\otimes[1_c]_{\bar{s}q}$, and perform a mass spectrum calculation in the framework of QCD sum rules. The results show that the observed $η_1(1855)$ could be embedded into the $[1_c]_{\bar{s}s}\otimes[1_c]_{\bar{q}q}$ configuration. The possible tetraquark and hybrid decay modes are analyzed, which are critical in decoding its inner structure. In the same way, we evaluate as well the $\bar{s}s\bar{s}s$ molecular state with $1^{-+}$ quantum number and find that there might exist two such ground states.
The newly reported exotic signal $Z_c(4100)$ by the LHCb Collaboration in the invariant mass spectrum of $η_cπ^-$ in $B^0\to η_c K^+ π^-$ has been a new experimental evidence for an exotic meson containing four constituent quarks. Although the present experimental information is very limited, we show that its correlations with some existing exotic candidates can be recognized. This signal can be either caused by final state interaction effects or a $P$-wave resonance state arising from the $D^*\bar{D}^*$ interaction. For the latter option its neutral partner will have exotic quantum numbers of…
The mass and decay constant of the $X(5568)$ state newly observed by D0 Collaboration are computed within the two-point sum rule method using the diquark-antidiquark interpolating current. In calculations, the vacuum condensates up to eight dimensions are taken into account. The obtained result for the mass of the $X(5568)$ state is in a nice agreement with the experimental data.
Motivated by the very recent discovery of the strange hidden-charm exotic state $Z_{cs}(3985)$ by the BESIII Collaboration, we study possible interpretation of this exotic state both at $ T= 0 $ and $ T\neq 0 $. We analytically compute the mass and meson-current coupling constant of this resonance with spin-parity $ J^{PC} = 1^{+-}$ at finite temperature approximation up to sixth order of the thermal operator dimension including non-perturbative contributions. Extracting thermal mass and meson-current coupling constant sum rules, the modifications on properties of $Z_{cs}(3985)$ state in hot m…
In this work, we treat the newly observed doubly charmed four-quark state $ T_{cc}^{+}$ as an axial-vector tetraquark with content $cc\overline{u} \overline{d}$, and calculate its spectroscopic parameters and width. The mass and current coupling of the tetraquark $T_{cc}^{+}$ are found by means of the QCD two-point sum rule method by taking into account quark, gluon and mixed condensates up to dimension $10$. The width of the $T_{cc}^{+}$ is evaluated using partial widths of decay processes $T_{cc}^{+} \to \widetilde{ T}π^{0}$ and $T_{cc}^{+} \to T_{cc;\overline{u}\overline{u}}^{0}π^{+}$ , whe…
We study the possible exotic states with $J^{PC} = 0^{+-}$ using the tetraquark interpolating currents with the QCD sum rule approach. The extracted masses are around 4.85 GeV for the charmonium-like states and 11.25 GeV for the bottomomium-like states. There is no working region for the light tetraquark currents, which implies the light $0^{+-}$ state may not exist below 2 GeV.
We discuss a coupled channel analysis of the $ηπ$ and $η'π$ systems produced in $π^-p$ interactions at 18 GeV/$c$. We show that known $Q\bar Q$ resonances, together with residual soft meson-meson rescattering, saturate the spectra including the exotic $J^{PC}=1^{-+}$ channel. A possibility of a narrow exotic resonance at a mass near 1.6 GeV/$c^2$ cannot, however, be ruled out.
Properties of a hypothetical baryonium with the quark content ($uds\ov{u}\ov{d}\ov{s}$) are discussed. The MIT bag model predicts its mass to be unexpectedly low, approximately 1210 MeV. Possible hadronic decay modes of this state are analyzed. Ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions provide favorable conditions for the formation of such particles from the baryon-free quark-gluon plasma. We estimate multiplicities of such exotic baryonia on the basis of a simple thermal model.
In order to explore the possible existence of the exotic $0^{--}$ state, we have constructed the tetraquark interpolating operators systematically. As a byproduct, we notice the $0^{+-}$ tetraquark operators without derivatives do not exist. The special Lorentz structure of the $0^{--}$ currents forbids the four-quark correction to the spectral density. Now the gluon condensate is the dominant power correction. Within the framework of the finite energy sum rule, none of the seven interpolating currents supports a resonant signal. Therefore we conclude that the exotic $0^{--}$ state does not ex…
The newly observed $D_{sJ}^*$ family containing $D_{sJ}^{*}(2317)$, $D_{sJ}(2460)$ and $D_{sJ}(2632)$ attracts great interests. Determining their structure may be important tasks for both theorists and experimentalists. In this work we use the heavy quark effective theory (HQET) and a non-relativistic model to evaluate the production rate of $D_{sJ}^{*}(2317)$ from the decays of $ψ(4415)$, and we find that it is sizable and may be observed at BES III and CLEO, if it is a p-wave excited state of $D_s(1968)$. Unfortunately, the other two members of the family cannot be observed through decays of…
With the strong experimental evidence for standard neutrino mass and mixings, there exists now a possibility of the lepton flavor violating process e\sup + mu \sup - \arrow W \sup + W \sup -, which would occur via t-channel neutrino exchange induced by neutrino mixings. We consider Langackers generalized neutrino mixings including ordinary (canonical SU(2) \sub L x U(1) \sub Y assignments), exotic (non-canonical SU(2) \sub L x U(1) \sub Y assignments) and singlet neutrinos leading to light and heavy mass eigen states. Constraints on lepton flavor violating (LFV) ordinary and heavy neutrino ove…
A menage a trois is very different from an ordinary family. Similarly, exotic hadrons with both qq and qbar q pairs have important color-space correlations that are completely absent in ordinary mesons and baryons. The presence of both types of pairs requires attention to the basic QCD physics that the q qbar interaction is much stronger than the qq interaction. This new physics in multiquark systems produces color structures totally different from those of normal hadrons, for example the ud system is utterly unlike the ud diquark in the uds Lambda baryon. The color-space correlations produce …
We suggest that the newly observed resonance Y(4260) is a $χ_{c}-ρ^0$ molecule, which is an isovector. In this picture, we can easily interpret why $Y(4260)\to π^+π^-J/ψ$ has a larger rate than $Y(4260)\to D\bar D$ which has not been observed, and we also predict existence of the other two components of the isotriplet and another two possible partner states which may be observed in the future experiments. A direct consequence of this structure is that for this molecular structure $Y(4260)\to π^+π^-J/ψ$ mode is more favorable than $Y(4260)\to K\bar KJ/ψ$ which may have a larger fraction if othe…
We study heavy hadron spectroscopy near open bottom thresholds. We employ B and B* mesons as effective degrees of freedom near the thresholds, and consider meson exchange potentials between them. All possible composite states which can be constructed from the B and B* mesons are studied up to the total angular momentum J = 0, 1, 2. We consider, as exotic states, isosinglet states with exotic (J,PC) quantum numbers and isotriplet states. We solve numerically the Schrodinger equation with channel-couplings for each state. The masses of twin resonances Zb(10608) and Zb(10653) recently found by Be…
In this paper I discuss some string inspired exotic colored matter particles that could be produced at the LHC, as well as the experimental signature for the observation of such states. Their most easily identifiable signature of this scenario is that many of these exotic particles would decay into standard model particles only via higher dimension operators in the effective field theory at a TeV scale. Some of these particles would only have three body decays into standard model particles.
Our talk is intended for the session in memory of Mitya Diakonov. The problem is considered of existence of flavor multiplets consisting of multi-quark baryons. We have argued that the S-matrix should have poles, at least Regge ones, with any quantum numbers, including exotic. This is a novel argument for possible a proof, yet there are no theoretical arguments to forbid exotics. Then we apply the partial-wave analysis (PWA) with addressing mainly to the non-strange exotic members of the anti-decuplet or even of higher multiplets. It suggested new N(1680) as a possible partner of Theta+. Later…
New almost-degenerate charged and neutral heavy leptons are a feature of a number of theories of physics beyond the Standard Model. The prospects for detecting these at the Large Hadron Collider using a time-of-flight technique are considered, along with any cosmological or experimental constraints on their masses. Based on a discovery criterion of 10 detected exotic leptons we conclude that, with an integrated luminosity of 100 fb-1, it should be possible to detect such leptons provided their masses are less than 950 GeV. It should also be possible to use the angular distribution of the produ…
In this talk, multiquarks are studied microscopically in a standard quark model. In pure ground-state pentaquarks the short-range interaction is computed and it is shown to be repulsive, a narrow pentaquark cannot be in the groundstate. As a possible excitation, an additional quark-antiquark pair is then considered, and this is suggested to produce linear molecular system, with a narrow decay width. This excitation may be energetically favourable to the p-wave excitation suggested by the other pentaquark models. Here, the quarks assemble in three hadronic clusters, and the central hadron provi…
We construct charmonium-like and bottomonium-like molecular interpolating currents with quantum numbers J(PC)=1(+-) in a systematic way, including both color singlet-singlet and color octet-octet structures. Using these interpolating currents, we calculate two-point correlation functions and perform QCD sum rule analyses to obtain mass spectra of the charmonium-like and bottomonium-like molecular states. Masses of the charmonium-like q_bar c c_bar q molecular states for these various currents are extracted in the range 3.85-4.22 GeV, which are in good agreement with observed masses of the Zc r…
We study heavy hadron spectroscopy near heavy meson thresholds. We employ heavy pseudoscalar meson P and heavy vector meson P* as effective degrees of freedom and consider meson exchange potentials between them. All possible composite states which can be constructed from the P and P* mesons are studied up to the total angular momentum J <= 2. We consider, as exotic states, isosinglet states with exotic J^{PC} quantum numbers and isotriplet states. We solve numerically the Schrödinger equation with channel-couplings for each state. We found B(*)barB(*) molecule states for I^G(J^{PC}) = 1^+(1^{+…
The possible detection of massive quasi-stable exotic particles at the high luminosity hadronic colliders is discussed. In the coming ten years the LHC, now under preparation, has the best opportunity to observe them at the TeV scale. The present design of the ATLAS detector, that has been almost irreversibly decided, may turn out to be flexible enough to allow the detection of this interesting class of exotic particles. The trigger acceptance, the track reconstruction and the particle identification are studied. The necessity of a good measurement of the ionization loss in the muon sector of t…
Inspired by the newly observed $Ω(2012)$ state at Belle II, we investigate the two-body strong decays of $Ω$ baryons up to $N=2$ shell within the chiral quark model. Our results indicate that: (i) the newly observed $Ω(2012)$ state could be assigned to the spin-parity $J^P=3/2^-$ state $|70,^210,1,1,\frac{3}{2}^-\rangle$ and the experimental data can be reasonably described. However, the spin-parity $J^P=1/2^-$ state $|70,^210,1,1,\frac{1}{2}^-\rangle$ and spin-parity $J^P=3/2^+$ state $|56,^410,2,0,\frac{3}{2}^+\rangle$ can't be completely excluded. (ii) The $D$-wave states in the $N=2$ shell…
Inspired by the newly observed $Ω_b$ states by the LHCb Collaboration, we investigate the two-body strong decays of the low-lying $λ$-mode $Ω_b$ baryons up to $N=2$ shell using the chiral quark model within the $j$-$j$ coupling scheme. Our results indicate that: (i) the newly observed states $Ω_b(6316)^-$ and $Ω_b(6330)^-$ are good candidates of the light spin $j=1$ states, while the spin-parity $J^P=1/2^-$ and $J^P=3/2^-$ cannot be distinguished. The other two states, $Ω_b(6340)$ and $Ω_b(6350)$ mostly correspond to the light spin $j=2$ states, while the spin-parity $J^P=3/2^-$ and $J^P=5/2^-…
This is a conference mostly devoted to diquarks. Although an exotic meson can in principle be composed of a diquark and an antidiquark, such an exotic is unlikely to be experimentally observable in the near future. The reason, according to the model, is that diquark-antidiquark exotics have masses well above the threshold for decay into two mesons, and are likely to have widths too large to make them observable. A possible exception is a $ u d \bar b \bar b$ exotic, but it will be a long time before such a state can be observed even if it is stable against strong decay.
We propose stable exotic nuclei bound with $\bar{D}$ and $B$ mesons with respecting heavy quark symmetry. We indicate that an approximate degeneracy of $\bar{D}$($B$) and $\bar{D}^{*}$($B^{*}$) mesons plays an important role, and discuss the stability of $\bar{D}N$ and $BN$ bound states. We find the binding energies 1.4 MeV and 9.4 MeV for each state in the $J^{P}=1/2^{-}$ with I=0 channel. We discuss also possible existence of exotic nuclei $\bar{D}NN$ and $BNN$.
We use the chiral quark-soliton model to interpret five excited $Ω_c$ states recently reported by the LHCb collaboration and confirmed by Belle. We briefly recapitulate the model and its application to light baryons. We then show how the model can be extended to the case of baryons with one heavy quark. We test the model against ground state heavy baryons and then examine possible excitations. We argue that it is not possible to accommodate all five $Ω_c$'s within five parity minus excitations predicetd by the model and propose to interpret two narrowest states split by 70 MeV as pentaquarks b…
We discuss possible options for interpreting the newly observed state Y(4140) by the CDF collaboration in $B^+\to J/ψϕK^+$ decay above the $J/ψϕ$ threshold, and argue that it is more likely to be a $D_s^*$-$D_s^*$ molecular state or an exotic ($J^{PC}=1^{-+}$) hybrid charmonium. We have discussed decay modes which would allow unambiguous identification of the hybrid charmonium option.
We investigate the production of the newly found pentaquark exotic baryon Xi_5 in the bar{K} N -> K Xi_5 and the bar{K} N -> K* Xi_5 reactions at the tree level. We consider both positive- and negative parities of the Xi_5. The reactions are dominated by the s- and u-channel processes, and the resulting cross sections depend very much on the parity of Xi_5 and on the type of form factor. We have seen that the cross sections for the positive-parity Xi_5 are generally about a hundred times larger than those of the negative-parity one. This large difference in the cross sections will be useful fo…
Based on the fact that the long expected pentaquark which possesses the exotic quantum numbers of $B=1$ and $S=1$ was not experimentally found, although exotic states of $XYZ$ have been observed recently, we conjecture that the heavy flavors may play an important role in stabilizing the hadronic structures beyond the traditional $q\bar q$ and $qqq$ composites.
The width of the newly observed exotic state $X_b(5568)$ is calculated via its dominant strong decay to $% B_s^{0} π^{+}$ using the QCD sum rule method on the light-cone in conjunction with the soft-meson approximation. To this end, the vertex $X_{b}B_{s}π$ is studied and the strong coupling $g_{X_{b}B_{s}π}$ is computed employing for $X_b(5568)$ state the interpolating diquark-antidiquark current of the $[su][\overline{b}\overline{d}]$ type. The obtained prediction for the decay width of $X_b(5568)$ is confronted and a nice agreement found with the experimental data of the D0 Collaboration.
We describe a heavy and exotic tetraquark state as a holographic molecule, by binding the lightest heavy-light meson $(0^-, 1^-)$ multiplet to a flavored sphaleron, in the bulk of the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model. Bound tetraquark states emerge as Efimov states in the heavy quark limit, with a binding energy for charm tetraquark comparable to the $T_{cc}^+$ recently reported by the LHCb, but a substantially smaller width, for a large but finite $^\prime$t Hooft coupling. Fixing the parameters of the model at the empirical mass of $T_{cc}^+$ allows us to predict the bindings of the undiscovered …
We discuss the quantum state structure on the basis of $SU(3)_c$ for some known exotic quark systems using a model which describes these particular states as highly correlated diquarks and antidiquarks. We are then able to calculate for a single colored diquark a finite von Neumann entropy from the quantum reduced density matrix, from which we explicitly evaluate the likelihood of certain arrangements of quark flavors in a given diquark. These results can be related to some recently experimentally found pentaquark systems as well as a possible model for the scalar mesons.
In the framework of the color-magnetic interaction model, we have systematically calculated the mass splittings for the S-wave triply heavy pentaquark states with the configuration $qqQQ\bar{Q}$ $(Q=c,b;q=u,d,s)$. Their masses are estimated and their stabilities are discussed according to possible rearrangement decay patterns. Our results indicate that there may exist several stable or narrow such states. We hope the present study can help experimentalists to search for exotic pentaquarks.
We use the QCD sum rules to study possible $B_c$-like molecular states. We consider isoscalar $J^P = 0^+$ and $J^P = 1^+ D^{(\ast)}B^{(\ast)}$ molecular currents. We consider the contributions of condensates up to dimension eight and we work at leading order in $α_s$ . We obtain for these states masses around 7 GeV.
Very recently, a new $Ω^{*}$ state was reported by the Belle Collaboration, with its mass of $2012.4 \pm 0.7\ \text{(stat)}\pm 0.6\ \text{(syst)}\ \mathrm{MeV}$, which locates just below the $KΞ^*$ threshold and hence hints to be a possible $KΞ^*$ hadronic molecule. Using the effective Lagrangian approach as the same as our previous works for other possible hadronic molecular states, we investigate the decay behavior of this new $Ω^*$ state within the hadronic molecular picture. The results show that the measured decay width can be reproduced well and its dominant decay channel is predicted to…
We show that it is possible to introduce the confining hidden sector gauge group SU(5)' with the chiral matter 10 plus 5-bar, which are neutral under the standard model gauge group, toward a gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) in a Z_{12-I} orbifold compactification of E_8xE_8 heterotic string. Three families of MSSM result without exotics. We also find a desirable matter parity P (or R-parity) assignment. We note that this model contains the spectrum of the Lee-Weinberg model which has a nice solution of the mu problem.
We present an exact calculation of $S$ and $P$ wave $QQ\bar n\bar n$ states using different standard nonrelativistic quark--quark potentials. We explore in detail the charm and bottom sectors looking for bound states that could be measured within existing facilities. Against the proliferation of four--quark states sometimes predicted in the literature, we found a small number of candidates to be stable. We analyze their properties in a trial to distinguish between compact and molecular states. Possible decay modes are discussed.
In this work, we adopt the one-boson-exchange model to study the $D^{(*)}K^{(*)}$ interactions. With the same parameters, we can simultaneously reproduce the masses of the $D_{s0}(2317)$, $D_{s1}(2460)$, and $T_{c\bar{s}}^{a0(++)}(2900)$ recently observed by the LHCb collaboration in the hadronic molecular picture, where the $D_{s0}(2317)$, $D_{s1}(2460)$, and $T_{c\bar{s}}^{a0(++)}(2900)$ are regarded as the $DK[I(J^P)=0(0^+)]$, $D^*K[0(1^+)]$, and $D^*K^*[1(0^+)]$ charmed-strange molecular states, respectively. In addition, we extend to study the $Λ_cK^{(*)}$ and $Σ_cK^{(*)}$ interactions an…

Charmonium, the spectroscopy of c\bar{c} mesons, has recently enjoyed a renaissance with the discovery of several missing states and a number of unexpected charmonium-like resonances. The discovery of these new states has been made possible by the extremely large data samples made available by the B-factories at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and at KEK in Japan, and at the CESR e^+e^- collider at Cornell. Conventional c\bar{c} states are well described by quark potential models. However, many of these newly discovered charmonium-like mesons do not seem to fit into the conventional c\b…
Stimulated by the recent observation of the exotic $X(5568)$ state by D0 Collaboration, we study the four-quark system $us\bar{b}\bar{d}$ with quantum numbers $J^P=0^+$ in the framework of chiral quark model. Two structures, diquark-antidiquark and meson-meson, with all possible color configurations are investigated by using Gaussian expansion method. The results show that energies of the tetraquark states with diquark-antiquark structure are too high to the candidate of $X(5568)$, and no molecular structure can be formed in our calculations. The calculation is also extended to the four-quark …
We study the effect of exotic charged current interactions on the electron energy spectrum in tritium decay, focussing on the KATRIN experiment and a possible modified setup that has access to the full spectrum. Both sub-eV and keV neutrino masses are considered. We perform a fully relativistic calculation and take all possible new interactions into account, demonstrating the possible sizable distortions in the energy spectrum.
We find that several thresholds can contribute to the enhancements of the newly observed heavy pentaquark candidates $P_c^+(4380)$ and $P_c^+(4450)$ via the anomalous triangle singularity (ATS) transitions in the specific kinematics of $Λ_b\to J/ψK^- p$. Apart from the observed two peaks we find that another peaks around 4.5 GeV can also be produced by the ATS. We also show that the $Σ_c^{(*)}$ can be produced at leading order in $Λ_b$ decay. This process is different from the triangle diagram and its threshold enhancement only appears as CUSP effects if there is no pole structure or the ATS i…
Recently, for the first time, exotic loop trajectories were observed in a photon triple slit experiment. We discuss possible origins and potential impacts of analogical exotic trajectories in neutrino production, propagation and detection onto the neutrino oscillation observables.
Exotic mesons with quantum numbers of a hybrid ($\bar{q} q g$) such as $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$are shown to exist as narrow resonant states in the large $N_c$ limit of QCD. The width of these states is proportional to $1/N_c$. Possible phenomenological implications for the world of $N_c=3$ are discussed.
The assumption that the newly observed charged bottomonia states Z_b(10610) and Z_b(10650) are of molecular nature is confronted with the measured invariant mass distributions for the transitions of the Upsilon(5S) to the final states h_b pi^+ pi^- and h_b(2P) pi^+ pi^-. It is shown that the assumption that the Z_b(10610) and Z_b(10650) are B\bar B^*+{\rm c.c.} and B^*\bar B^* bound states, respectively, with very small binding energies is consistent with the data. The calculation is based on a power counting for bottom meson loops, which is explicitly given up to two-loop in the framework of …
Identifying hadronic molecular states and/or hadrons with multi-quark components either with or without exotic quantum numbers is a long standing challenge in hadronic physics. We suggest that studying the production of these hadrons in relativistic heavy ion collisions offer a promising resolution to this problem as yields of exotic hadrons are expected to be strongly affected by their structures. Using the coalescence model for hadron production, we find that compared to the case of a non-exotic hadron with normal quark numbers, the yield of an exotic hadron is typically an order of magnitud…
We investigate the $η\bar{K}K^*$ three body system in order to look for possible $I^G(J^{PC})=0^+(1^{-+})$ exotic states in the framework of the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev equation. We assume the scattering of $η$ on a clusterized system $\bar{K}K^*$, which is known to generate the $f_1(1285)$, or a $\bar{K}$ on a clusterized system $ηK^*$, which is shown to generate the $K_1(1270)$. In the case of the $η$-$(\bar{K}K^*)_{f_1(1285)}$ scattering, we find evidence of a bound state $I^G(J^{PC})=0^+(1^{-+})$ below the $η{f_1(1285)}$ threshold with mass around 1700 MeV and width about…
Agreement between theoretical calculations of atomic structure and spectroscopic measurements is used to constrain possible contribution of exotic spin-dependent interactions between electrons to the energy differences between states in helium-4. In particular, constraints on dipole-dipole interactions associated with the exchange of pseudoscalar bosons (such as axions or axion-like particles, ALPs) with masses $10^{-2}~{\rm eV} \lesssim m \lesssim 10^{4}~{\rm eV}$ are improved by a factor of $\sim 100$. The first atomic-scale constraints on several exotic velocity-dependent dipole-dipole inte…
Heavy ion collisions (HIC) at high energies are excellent ways for producing heavy hadrons and composite particles. With upgraded detectors at RHIC and LHC, it has become possible to measure hadrons beyond their ground states. Therefore, HIC provide a new method for studying exotic hadrons that are either hadronic molecular states or compact multiquark systems. Because their structures are related to the fundamental properties of QCD, studying exotic hadrons is currently one of the most active areas of research in hadron physics. Experiments carried out at various accelerator facilities have i…
The developments in the experimental facilities and analyses techniques have recently lead to the observation of many hadronic states ranging from excitations of conventional hadrons to various exotic states. The baryons with single heavy quark are among these states providing an attractive field of research to get a better understanding of the nonperturbative nature of the strong interaction. Recently, the Belle Collaboration announced observation of the state $Λ_c(2910)^+$ with a mass $2913.8\pm5.6\pm3.8~\mathrm{MeV}/c^2$ and width $51.8\pm20.0\pm18.8~\mathrm{MeV}$. In the present study, by …
The charmed meson pair $(\frac{3}{2})^+$ and anti-$(\frac{1}{2})^-$, i.e. $D_1(2420)\bar D+c.c.$, $D_1(2420)\bar D^*+c.c.$, $D_2(2460)\bar D^*+c.c.$, can couple to states with vector quantum number $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ and exotic quantum number $J^{PC}=1^{-+}$ in a relative $S$ wave. Near threshold, the charmed meson pair may form hadronic molecules due to the strong $S$-wave coupling, and the mysterious vector state $Y(4260)$ could be such a state of the $D_1(2420)\bar D+c.c.$ molecule. This implies the possible existence of its exotic partner made of the same charmed mesons but with $J^{PC}=1^{-+…
We investigate how exotic differential structures may reveal themselves in particle physics. The analysis is based on the A. Connes' construction of the standard model. It is shown that, if one of the copies of the spacetime manifold is equipped with an exotic differential structure, compact object of geometric origin may exist even if the spacetime is topologically trivial. Possible implications are discussed. An $SU(3)\otimes SU(2)\otimes U(1)$ gauge model is constructed. This model may not be realistic but it shows what kind of physical phenomena might be expected due to the existence of ex…
The LHCb Collaboration recently reported the observation of a new excited bottom baryon $Ξ_b(6227)^0$ and announced an improvement in the measurements related to the previously observed $Ξ_b(6227)^-$ state. We conduct an analysis for $Ξ_b(6227)^0$ state considering it as isospin partner of the $Ξ_b(6227)^-$ resonance and possibly $1P$ or $2S$ excited state with spin $J=\frac{3}{2}$. The corresponding masses for both possibilities have consistent results with the experimental data, indicating that only with the mass sum rules, one can not make exact decision on the nature and quantum numbers of…
In this work, we study systematically the mass splittings of the $qq\bar{Q}\bar{Q}$ ($q=u$, $d$, $s$ and $Q=c$, $b$) tetraquark states with the color-magnetic interaction by considering color mixing effects and estimate roughly their masses. We find that the color mixing effect is relatively important for the $J^P=0^+$ states and possible stable tetraquarks exist in the $nn\bar{Q}\bar{Q}$ ($n=u$, $d$) and $ns\bar{Q}\bar{Q}$ systems either with $J=0$ or with $J=1$. Possible decay patterns of the tetraquarks are briefly discussed.
