The aim of this study is tree-fold. First, we investigate the thermodynamics of the Ising models with respect to 2-multiple Hamiltonians. This extends the previous results of [Chazotte and Redig, Electron. J. Probably., 2014] to $\mathbb{N}^d$. Second, we establish the large deviation principle (LDP) of the average $\frac{1}{N} S_N^G$, where $S_N^G$ is a 2-multiple sum along a semigroup generated by k numbers which are k co-primes. This extends the previous results [Ban et al. Indag. Math., 2021] to a board class of the long-range interactions. Finally, the results described above are generalized to the multidimensional lattice $\mathbb{N}^d, d\geq1$.
In this paper, we establish a moderate deviation principle for two-dimensional stochastic Navier-Stokes equations driven by multiplicative $L\acute{e}vy$ noises. The weak convergence method introduced by Budhiraja, Dupuis and Ganguly in arXiv:1401.73v1 plays a key role.
In this article we study imaginary Gaussian multiplicative chaos -- namely a family of random generalized functions which can formally be written as $e^{i X(x)}$, where $X$ is a log-correlated real-valued Gaussian field on $\mathbb{R}^d$, i.e. it has a logarithmic singularity on the diagonal of its covariance. We study basic analytic properties of these random generalized functions, such as what spaces of distributions do these objects live in, along with their basic stochastic properties, such as moment and tail estimates. After this, we discuss connections between imaginary multiplicative ch…
The Freidlin-Wentzell large deviation principle is established for the distributions of stochastic evolution equations with general monotone drift and small multiplicative noise. As examples, the main results are applied to derive the large deviation principle for different types of SPDE such as stochastic reaction-diffusion equations, stochastic porous media equations and fast diffusion equations, and the stochastic p-Laplace equation in Hilbert space. The weak convergence approach is employed in the proof to establish the Laplace principle, which is equivalent to the large deviation principl…
In this paper, we show the existence and uniqueness of a strong solution to stochastic 3D tamed Navier-Stokes equations driven by multiplicative Levy noise with periodic boundary conditions. Then we establish the large deviation principles of the strong solution on the state space $\mathcal{D}([0,T];\mathbb{H}^1)$, where the weak convergence approach plays a key role.
We demonstrate the large deviation property for the mild solutions of stochastic evolution equations with monotone nonlinearity and multiplica- tive noise. This is achieved using the recently developed weak convergence method, in studying the large deviation principle. An It^o-type inequality is a main tool in the proofs. We also give two examples to illustrate the applications of the theorems.
We study the large deviations principle (LDP) for stationary solutions of a class of stochastic differential equations (SDE) in infinite time intervals by the weak convergence approach, and then establish the LDP for the invariant measures of the SDE by the contraction principle. We further point out the equivalence of the rate function of the LDP for invariant measures induced by the LDP for stationary solutions and the rate function defined by quasi-potential. This fact gives another view of the quasi-potential introduced by Freidlin and Wentzell.
We demonstrate the large deviation principle in the small noise limit for the mild solution of stochastic evolution equations with monotone nonlinearity. A recently developed method, weak convergent method, has been employed in studying the large deviations. we have used essentially the main result of Budhiraja et al., [4] which discloses the variational representation of exponential integrals w.r.t. the Lévy noise. An Itô-type inequality is a main tool in our proofs. Our framework covers a wide range of semilinear parabolic, hyperbolic and delay differential equations. We give some examples t…
Uniform large deviations for the laws of the paths of the solutions of the stochastic nonlinear Schrodinger equation when the noise converges to zero are presented. The noise is a real multiplicative Gaussian noise. It is white in time and colored in space. The path space considered allows blow-up and is endowed with a topology analogue to a projective limit topology. Thus a large variety of large deviation principle may be deduced by contraction. As a consequence, asymptotics of the tails of the law of the blow-up time when the noise converges to zero are obtained.
We demonstrate the large deviation principle in the small noise limit for the three dimensional stochastic planetary geostrophic equations of large-scale ocean circulation. In this paper, we first prove the well-posedness of weak solutions to this system by the method of monotonicity. As we know, a recently developed method, weak convergent method, has been employed in studying the large deviations and this method is essentially based on the main result of \cite{ba2} which discloses the variational representation of exponential integrals with respect to the Brownian noise. The Itô inequality a…

We prove a large deviations principle for the total spin and the number of edges under the annealed Ising measure on generalized random graphs. We also give detailed results on how the annealing over the Ising model changes the degrees of the vertices in the graph and show how it gives rise to interesting correlated random graphs.
We introduce the multiplicative Ising model and prove basic properties of its thermodynamic formalism such as existence of pressure and entropies. We generalize to one-dimensional "layer-unique" Gibbs measures for which the same results can be obtained. For more general models associated to a $d$-dimensional multiplicative invariant potential, we prove a large deviation theorem in the uniqueness regime for averages of multiplicative shifts of general local functions. This thermodynamic formalism is motivated by the statistical properties of multiple ergodic averages.
In this work, we focus on the global solvability and uniform large deviations for the solutions of stochastic generalized Burgers-Huxley (SGBH) equation perturbed by a small multiplicative white in time and colored in space noise. The SGBH equation has the nonlinearity of polynomial order and noise considered in this work is infinite dimensional with a coefficient having linear growth. First, we prove the existence of a \textsl{unique local mild solution} in the sense of Walsh to SGBH equation with the help of a truncation argument and contraction mapping principle. Then the global solvability…
We continue the investigation of the spectral theory and exponential asymptotics of Markov processes, following Kontoyiannis and Meyn (2003). We introduce a new family of nonlinear Lyapunov drift criteria, characterizing distinct subclasses of geometrically ergodic Markov processes in terms of inequalities for the nonlinear generator. We concentrate on the class of "multiplicatively regular" Markov processes, characterized via conditions similar to (but weaker than) those of Donsker-Varadhan. For any such process {Phi(t)} with transition kernel P on a general state space, the following are obt…
In this paper, we establish a central limit theorem and a moderate deviations for 2D stochastic primitive equations with multiplicative noise. The proof is mainly based on the weak convergence approach.
We prove the large deviations principle (LDP) for the law of the solutions to a class of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by multiplicative noise. Our proof is based on the weak convergence approach and significantly improves earlier methods.
In this paper, we establish the large deviation principle for 3D stochastic primitive equations with small perturbation multiplicative noise. The proof is mainly based on the weak convergence approach.
In this paper, we establish the Freidlin-Wentzell type large deviation principles for porous medium-type equations perturbed by small multiplicative noise. The porous medium operator $Δ(|u|^{m-1}u)$ is allowed. Our proof is based on weak convergence approach.
We study the asymptotic behaviour of solutions of Forward Backward Stochastic Differential Equations in the coupled case, when the diffusion coefficient of the forward equation is multiplicatively perturbed by a small parameter that converges to zero. Furthermore, we establish a Large Deviation Principle for the laws of the corresponding processes.
We prove the the large deviation principle(LDP) for the law of the one-dimensional semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by nonlinear multiplicative noise. Firstly, combining the energy estimate and approximation procedure, we obtain the existence of global solution. Then the large deviation principle is obtained via weak convergence method.
We study the surface tension and the phenomenon of phase coexistence for the Ising model on $\mathbbm{Z}^d$ ($d \geqslant 2$) with ferromagnetic but random couplings. We prove the convergence in probability (with respect to random couplings) of surface tension and analyze its large deviations : upper deviations occur at volume order while lower deviations occur at surface order. We study the asymptotics of surface tension at low temperatures and relate the quenched value $τ^q$ of surface tension to maximal flows (first passage times if $d = 2$). For a broad class of distributions of the coupli…
In this paper, we established the Freidlin-Wentzell type large deviation principles for first-order scalar conservation laws perturbed by small multiplicative noise. Due to the lack of the viscous terms in the stochastic equations, the kinetic solution to the Cauchy problem for these first-order conservation laws is studied. Then, based on the well-posedness of the kinetic solutions, we show that the large deviations holds by utilising the weak convergence approach.
In this paper, we establish large deviation principle for the strong solution of a doubly nonlinear PDE driven by small multiplicative Brownian noise. Motononicity arguments and the weak convergence approach have been exploited in the proof. Moreover, by using certain a-priori estimates and sequentially weakly Feller property of the associated Markov semigroup, we show existence of invariant probability measure for the strong solution of the underlying problem.
Consider the partial sums {S_t} of a real-valued functional F(Phi(t)) of a Markov chain {Phi(t)} with values in a general state space. Assuming only that the Markov chain is geometrically ergodic and that the functional F is bounded, the following conclusions are obtained: 1. Spectral theory: Well-behaved solutions can be constructed for the ``multiplicative Poisson equation''. 2. A ``multiplicative'' mean ergodic theorem: For all complex αin a neighborhood of the origin, the normalized mean of \exp(αS_t) converges exponentially fast to a solution of the multiplicative Poisson equation. 3. Edg…
In this paper, we establish large deviation principle for the strong solution of evolutionary p-Laplace equation driven by small multiplicative Brownian noise, where the weak convergence approach plays a key role. Moreover, by using Girsanov transformation along with $L^1$-contraction approach, we show the quadratic transportation cost inequality for the strong solution of the underlying problem.
We prove a large deviation principle (LDP) for a general class of Banach space valued stochastic differential equations (SDE) that is uniform with respect to initial conditions in bounded subsets of the Banach space. A key step in the proof is showing that a uniform large deviation principle over compact sets is implied by a uniform over compact sets Laplace principle. Because bounded subsets of infinite dimensional Banach spaces are in general not relatively compact in the norm topology, we embed the Banach space into its double dual and utilize the weak-$\star $ compactness of closed bounded…
We study small noise large deviation asymptotics for stochastic differential equations with a multiplicative noise given as a fractional Brownian motion $B^H$ with Hurst parameter $H>\frac12$. The solutions of the stochastic differential equations are defined pathwise under appropriate conditions on the coefficients. The ingredients in the proof of the large deviation principle, which include a variational representation for nonnegative functionals of fractional Brownian motions and a general sufficient condition for a LDP for a collection of functionals of a fractional Brownian motions, have …
Dobrushin (1972) showed that the interface of a 3D Ising model with minus boundary conditions above the $xy$-plane and plus below is rigid (has $O(1)$-fluctuations) at every sufficiently low temperature. Since then, basic features of this interface -- such as the asymptotics of its maximum -- were only identified in more tractable random surface models that approximate the Ising interface at low temperatures, e.g., for the (2+1)D Solid-On-Solid model. Here we study the large deviations of the interface of the 3D Ising model in a cube of side-length $n$ with Dobrushin's boundary conditions, and…
In this paper we establish the large deviation principle for the stochastic quasi-geostrophic equation in the subcritical case with small multiplicative noise. The proof is mainly based on the stochastic control and weak convergence approach. Some analogous results are also obtained for the small time asymptotics of the stochastic quasi-geostrophic equation.
Phase separation is a fairly common physical phenomenon with examples including the formation of water droplets from humid air (fog, rain), the separation of a crystalline structure from an isotropic material such as a liquid or even the formation of the sizzling gas bubbles when a soda can is opened. It was recognized long ago (at least on a phenomenological level) that systems exhibiting several phases in equilibrium can be described with an appropriate variational principle: the phases arrange themselves in such a way that the energy associated with the phase boundaries is minimal. Typicall…
This paper is devoted to investigating the Freidlin-Wentzell's large deviation principle for a class of McKean-Vlasov quasilinear SPDEs perturbed by small multiplicative noise. We adopt the variational framework and the modified weak convergence criteria to prove the Laplace principle for McKean-Vlasov type SPDEs, which is equivalent to the large deviation principle. Moreover, we do not assume any compactness condition of embedding in the Gelfand triple to handle both the cases of bounded and unbounded domains in applications. The main results can be applied to various McKean-Vlasov type SPDEs…
We prove the large deviation principle for the law of the solutions to a class of parabolic semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by multiplicative noise, in $C\big([0,T]:L^ρ(D)\big)$, where $D\subset {\mathbb R}^d$ with $d\geqslant 1$ is a bounded convex domain with smooth boundary and $ρ$ is any real, positive and large enough number. The equation has nonlinearities of polynomial growth of any order, the space variable is of any dimension, and the proof is based on the weak convergence method.
We establish the large deviations principle (LDP) and the moderate deviations principle (MDP) and an almost sure version of the central limit theorem (CLT) for the stochastic 3D viscous primitive equations driven by a multiplicative white noise allowing dependence on spatial gradient of solutions with initial data in $H^2$. The LDP is established using the weak convergence approach of Budjihara and Dupuis and uniform version of the stochastic Gronwall lemma. The result corrects a minor technical issue in Z. Dong, J. Zhai, and R. Zhang: Large deviations principles for 3D stochastic primitive eq…
We derive a large deviations principle for the two-dimensional two-component plasma in a box. As a consequence, we obtain a variational representation for the free energy, and also show that the macroscopic empirical measure of either positive or negative charges converges to the uniform measure. An appendix, written by Wei Wu, discusses applications to the supercritical complex Gaussian multiplicative chaos.
In this work we first prove the existence and uniqueness of a strong solution to stochastic GOY model of turbulence with a small multiplicative noise. Then using the weak convergence approach, Laplace principle for so- lutions of the stochastic GOY model is established in certain Polish space. Thus a Wentzell-Freidlin type large deviation principle is established utilizing certain results by Varadhan and Bryc.
In this paper, we prove a central limit theorem and establish a moderate deviation principle for 2D stochastic hydrodynamical type systems with multiplicative noise in unbounded domains, which covers 2D Navier-Stokes equations, 2D MHD models and the 2D magnetic B?enard problem and also shell models of turbulence. The weak convergence method plays an important role in obtaining the moderate deviation principle.
We determine the order of magnitude of $\mathbb{E}|\sum_{n \leq x} f(n)|^{2q}$, where $f(n)$ is a Steinhaus or Rademacher random multiplicative function, and $0 \leq q \leq 1$. In the Steinhaus case, this is equivalent to determining the order of $\lim_{T \rightarrow \infty} \frac{1}{T} \int_{0}^{T} |\sum_{n \leq x} n^{-it}|^{2q} dt$. In particular, we find that $\mathbb{E}|\sum_{n \leq x} f(n)| \asymp \sqrt{x}/(\log\log x)^{1/4}$. This proves a conjecture of Helson that one should have better than squareroot cancellation in the first moment, and disproves counter-conjectures of various other …
The aim of this paper is threefold. Firstly, we prove the existence and the uniqueness of a global strong (in both the probabilistic and the PDE senses) $\mathrm{H}^{1}_2$-valued solution to the 2D stochastic Navier-Stokes equations (SNSEs) driven by a multiplicative Lévy noise under the natural Lipschitz on balls and linear growth assumptions on the jump coefficient. Secondly, we prove a Girsanov-type theorem for Poisson random measures and apply this result to a study of the well-posedness of the corresponding stochastic controlled problem for these SNSEs. Thirdly, we apply these results to …
This work addresses some asymptotic behavior of solutions to the stochastic convective Brinkman-Forchheimer (SCBF) equations perturbed by multiplicative Gaussian noise in bounded domains. Using a weak convergence approach of Budhiraja and Dupuis, we establish the Laplace principle for the strong solution to the SCBF equations in a suitable Polish space. Then, the Wentzell-Freidlin large deviation principle is derived using the well known results of Varadhan and Bryc. The large deviations for short time are also considered in this work. Furthermore, we study the exponential estimates on certain…
This paper explores the equivalences between four definitions of uniform large deviations principles and uniform Laplace principles found in the literature. Counterexamples are presented to illustrate the differences between these definitions and specific conditions are described under which these definitions are equivalent to each other. A fifth definition called the equicontinuous uniform Laplace principle (EULP) is proposed and proven to be equivalent to Freidlin and Wentzell's definition of a uniform large deviations principle. Sufficient conditions that imply a measurable function of infi…
In this paper, we establish a small time large deviation principles for scalar stochastic conservation laws driven by multiplicative noise. The doubling of variables method plays a key role.
