Rare Higgs decays into a pair of heavy vector quarkonia, $h\to VV$ ($V=J/Ψ$, $Υ$ etc.), have been investigated in the standard model. Different from the past literature in which these decays are thought to be only dominated by the longitudinally polarized final states, we also include the transitions, which proceed through $h\to γ^*γ^*$/$h\to Vγ^*$, followed by $γ^*\to V$. The final vector quarkonia via these ways are dominantly transversely polarized. Our calculation however shows that these transitions could lead to significant contributions to the decay rate, especially for the charmonium final states. The total branching ratios of these processes are predicted to be around $10^{-10}$, far below the current experimental upper bounds. Hopefully, experimental studies of these very rare decays in future high-precision experimental facilities might be interesting both to test the standard model and to look for new physics scenarios.
We address the impact of sterile fermions on the lepton flavor violating decays of quarkonia as well as of the $Z$ boson. We compute the relevant Wilson coefficients and show that the ${\rm B}(V\to\ell_α\ell_β)$, where $V=ϕ,ψ^{(n)}$, $Υ^{(n)},Z$ can be significantly enhanced in the case of large sterile fermion masses and a non-negligible active-sterile mixing. We illustrate that feature in a specific minimal realization of the inverse seesaw mechanism, known as $(2,3)$-ISS, and in an effective model in which the presence of non-standard sterile fermions is parameterized by means of one heavy …
Partial decay widths and branching fractions are calculated for the exclusive decays of the Standard Model Higgs boson into a pair of vector quarkonium states, $ H\to J/ψJ/ψ, H\to ΥΥ, H\to J/ψϕ, H\to J/ψΥ$, with relativistic corrections due to quark motion in mesons taken into account.
It is well know that the precise measurement of $H\toγγ$ can generate two degenerate parameter spaces of $Hγγ$ anomalous coupling. We propose to utilize the exclusive Higgs rare decays $H\toΥ(ns)+γ$ to break above mentioned degeneracy and further to constrain the $Hγγ$ anomalous coupling at the HL-LHC. We demonstrate that the branching ratios of $H\toΥ(ns)+γ$ can be significantly enhanced in the non-SM-like parameter space from $H\toγγ$ measurement, due to the destructive interference between the direct and indirect production of $Υ(ns)$ in the SM. By applying the NRQCD factorization formalism…
Based on the two Higgs doublet model, we study the effect of Higgs-boson exchange on the (super)heavy quarkonium \bar QQ, which induces a strong attractive force between a (super)heavy quark Q and an antiquark \bar Q. An interesting application is the decay of (super)heavy quarkonia \bar QQ into a Higgs boson associated with gauge bosons. The criterion for making the \bar QQ bound state is studied. We also show that non-perturbative effects due to gluonic field fluctuations are rather small in such a heavy quark sector. Possible enhancement for productions and decays of \bar QQ bound states ma…
Within the standard model, we have investigated rare $Z$-boson decays into double heavy quarkonia, $Z\to VV$ and $Z\to VP$ with $V$ denoting vector and $P$ denoting pseudoscalar quarkonia, respectively. It is assumed that the leading-order QCD diagrams would give the dominant contributions to these processes, and the corresponding branching fractions, for instance, ${\cal B}(Z\to J/ΨJ/Ψ)$ has been estimated to be around $10^{-13}$ in the literature. However, these decays could also happen through the electromagnetic transition $Z\to Vγ^*$ and $Z\to Pγ^*$, with the virtual photon transforming i…
In this paper we discuss decays of the Higgs boson to quarkonia in association with a photon. We identify a new mechanism for producing such final states in Higgs decays that leads to predictions for the decay rates that differ by an order of magnitude from previous estimates. Although the branching ratios for these processes are still small, the processes are experimentally clean, and the H \to J/ψ+gamma decay should be observable at a 14 TeV LHC. We point out that quantum interference between two different production mechanisms makes the decay rates sensitive to the HQQbar couplings. Consequ…
The double parton distributions (dPDF), both conventional and those corresponding to parton splitting, are calculated and compared for different two-parton combinations. The conventional and splitting dPDFs have very similar shape in $x_1$ and $x_2$. We make a first quantitative evaluation of the single-ladder-splitting contribution to double parton scattering (DPS) production of two S- or P-wave quarkonia, two Higgs bosons and $c \bar c c \bar c$. The ratio of the single-ladder-splitting to conventional contributions is discussed as a function of centre-of-mass energy, mass of the produced sy…
It is shown that $BR(χ_{b1}(1P)\rightarrow Z\rightarrow e^+e^-)\simeq 3.3\cdot 10^{-7}$, $BR(χ_{b1}(2P)\rightarrow Z\rightarrow e^+e^-)\simeq 4.1\cdot 10^{-7}$ and $BR(χ_{c1}(1P)\rightarrow Z\rightarrow e^+e^-)\simeq 10^{-8}$ that give a good chance to search for the direct production of pseudovector $^3P_1$ heavy quarkonia in $e^+e^-$ collisions ($e^+e^-\rightarrow Z\rightarrow ^3P_1$) even at current facilities not to mention $b$ and $c-τ$ factories. Leading radiative corrections to annihilation of quarkonia in QCD are discussed.
We investigate the associated production of heavy quarkonia, with angular-momentum quantum numbers ^{2S+1}L_J = ^1S_0, ^3S_1, ^1P_1, ^3P_J (J = 0, 1, 2), and photons, Z bosons, and W bosons in photon-photon, photon-hadron, and hadron-hadron collisions within the factorization formalism of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics providing all contributing partonic cross sections in analytic form. In the case of photoproduction, we also include the resolved-photon contributions. We present numerical results for the processes involving J/psi and chi_{cJ} mesons appropriate for the Fermilab Tevatro…
Cross sections for the concurrent production of pairs of quarkonia (J/psi, Upsilon) and/or gauge bosons (W, Z) from double-parton scatterings (DPS) in high-energy proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at the LHC are calculated. The estimates are based on next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD predictions, including nuclear modifications of the parton densities, for the corresponding single-scattering cross sections. Expected event rates for J/psi+J/psi, J/psi+Upsilon, J/psi+W, J/psi+Z, Upsilon+Upsilon, Upsilon+W, Upsilon+Z, and same-sign W+W production in their (di)leptonic decay modes…
We improve the theoretical predictions for the decays of the Higgs boson to an $S$-wave vector quarkonium plus a photon by calculating the relativistic correction of order $v^2$, where $v$ is the heavy-quark velocity in the quarkonium rest frame. Our numerical results are given for the $J/ψ$ and $Υ(nS)$ channels, with $n=1,2,3$. The numerical results include a previously calculated correction of order $α_s$ and summations, to all orders in $α_s$, of leading logarithms of $m_H^2/m_Q^2$, where $m_H$ is the Higgs-boson mass and $m_Q$ is the heavy-quark mass. These QCD corrections apply to the con…
QCD corrections to all the allowed decays of superheavy groundstate quarkonia into electroweak gauge and Higgs bosons are presented. For quick estimates, approximations that reproduce the exact results within less than at worst two percent are also given.
In this paper, the production rates of quarkonia eta_c, J/psi, eta_b, Upsilon, B_c and B_c^* through W boson decay at the LHC are calculated, at the leading order in both the QCD coupling constant and in v, the typical velocity of the heavy quark inside of mesons. It shows that a sizable number of quarkonia from W boson decay will be produced at the LHC. Comparison with the predictions by using quark fragmentation mechanism is also discussed. Results show that, for the charmonium production through W decay, the difference between predictions by the fragmentation mechanism and complete leading …
The latest electroweak precision data allow the existence of additional chiral generations in the standard model. We study prospects of search for the fourth standard model family fermions and quarkonia at $e^{+}e^{-}$ and $γγ$ options of CLIC. It is shown that CLIC will be powerfull machine for discovery and investigation of both fourth family leptons and quarkonia. Moreover, the formation of the fourth family quarkonia will give a new opportunity to investigate Higgs boson properties.
The presence of charged Higgs bosons is a generic prediction of multiplet extensions of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs sector. Focusing on the Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model (2HDM), we discuss the charged Higgs boson collider phenomenology in the theoretically and experimentally viable parameter space. While almost all existing experimental searches at the LHC target the fermionic decays of charged Higgs bosons, we point out that the bosonic decay channels -- especially the decay into a non-SM-like Higgs boson and a $W$ boson -- often dominate over the fermionic channels. Moreover, we revisit two genu…
Production in association with an electroweak vector boson V is a distinctive mode of production for a Higgs boson H without tree-level couplings to fermions, known as a fermiophobic Higgs boson. We focus on HV associated production with H decay into a pair of photons, and V into a pair of jets, with the goal of distinguishing a fermiophobic Higgs boson from the standard model Higgs boson. Performing a simulation of the signal and pertinent QCD backgrounds, and using the same event selection cuts employed by the LHC ATLAS Collaboration, we argue that existing LHC data at 7 TeV with 4.9 fb^{-1}…
The search for evidence of beyond Standard Model Higgs bosons is an integral part of the Higgs boson studies at the LHC. This article reviews recent beyond Standard Model Higgs boson searches using Run I LHC proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector. In particular, searches for Higgs boson cascades, double Higgs boson production, scalar particles decaying to $γγ$ pairs, flavor changing neutral currents involving Higgs bosons, and Higgs bosons decaying to invisible particles are discussed. No significant deviations from the background expectations are found and corresponding c…
More than one Higgs boson may be present near the currently discovered Higgs mass, which can not be properly resolved due to the limitations in the intrinsic energy resolution at the Large Hadron Collider. We investigated the scenarios where two $CP$-even Higgs bosons are degenerate in mass. To correctly predict the Higgs signatures, quantum interference effects between the two Higgs bosons must be taken into account, which, however, has been often neglected in the literature. We carried out a global analysis including the interference effects for a variety of Higgs searching channels at the L…
The Monte Carlo integrator HAWK provides precision predictions for Higgs production at hadron colliders in vector-boson fusion and Higgs strahlung, i.e. in production processes where the Higgs boson is Attached to WeaK bosons. The fully differential predictions include the full QCD and electroweak next-to-leading-order corrections. Results are computed as integrated cross sections and as binned distributions for important hadron-collider observables.
The Higgs boson physics reach of the CMS detector with 300(0) fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at sqrt{s} = 14 TeV is presented. Precision measurements of the Higgs boson properties, Higgs boson pair production and self-coupling, rare Higgs boson decays, and the potential for additional Higgs bosons are discussed.
We review the search for the standard Higgs boson, the Higgs bosons of the supersymmetric standard model, and Higgs bosons from a variety of other models at present and future colliders.
We review possible properties of Higgs bosons in the NMSSM, which allow to discriminate this model from the MSSM: masses of mostly Standard-Model-like Higgs bosons at or above 140 GeV, or enhanced branching fractions into two photons, or Higgs-to-Higgs decays. In the case of a Standard-Model-like Higgs boson above 140 GeV, it is necessarily accompagnied by a lighter state with a large gauge singlet component. Examples for such scenarios are presented. Available studies on Higgs-to-Higgs decays are discussed according to the various Higgs production modes, light Higgs masses and decay channels.
Higgs Bosons produced via gluon-gluon fusion (ggF) with large transverse momentum ($p_T$) are sensitive probes of physics beyond the Standard Model. However, high $p_T$ Higgs Boson production is contaminated by a diversity of production modes other than ggF: vector boson fusion, production of a Higgs boson in association with a vector boson, and production of a Higgs boson with a top-quark pair. Combining jet substructure and event information with modern machine learning, we demonstrate the ability to focus on particular production modes. These tools hold great discovery potential for boosted…
In models with extended Higgs sector and additional matter fields, the decay modes of heavy Higgs bosons can be dominated by cascade decays through the new fermions rendering present search strategies ineffective. We investigate new decay topologies of heavy neutral Higgses in two Higgs doublet model with vectorlike leptons. We also discuss constraints from existing searches and discovery prospects. Among the most interesting signatures are monojet, mono Z, mono Higgs, and Z and Higgs bosons produced with a pair of charged leptons.
We interpret the potential observation of the 750 GeV di-photon resonance at the LHC in models, in which an $SU(2)$ isospin-singlet scalar boson mixes with the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson through an angle $α$. Allowing the singlet scalar boson to have renormalizable couplings to vector-like leptons and quarks and introducing sizable decay width of the 750 GeV di-photon resonance into non-SM particles such as dark matters, we can explain the large production cross section $σ(H_2) \times B(H_2 \to γγ)$ as well as the apparent large total width of the boson without conflicts from the results …
Since the discovery of the Higgs boson in the year 2012, the CMS experiment continuously makes use of a variety of final states to measure the properties of the Higgs boson, as well as to search for it in final states where the discovery could not yet be established. This article concentrates on Higgs searches in fermionic final states including a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in the $H \rightarrow b\overline{b}$ channel. Furthermore, three different searches for Higgs bosons beyond the Standard Model are presented. These comprise two searches for heavy neutral Higgs bosons and one…
We report results from searches for neutral Higgs bosons produced in p-pbar collisions recorded by the Dzero experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We study the production of inclusive neutral Higgs boson in the tautau final state and in association with a b quark in the btautau and bbb final states. These results are combined to improve the sensitivity to the production of neutral Higgs bosons in the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). The data are found to be consistent with expectation from background processes. Upper limits on MSSM Higgs boson production are…
The ATLAS and CMS experiments have recently discovered a new 125 GeV scalar boson. We show that the properties of this scalar, including the enhancement of its diphoton decay rate, can be explained in a model with an isospin symmetric Higgs boson. The predictions of the model relevant for future experiments are also discussed.
In supersymmetric theories of nature the Higgsino fermionic superpartner of the Higgs boson can arise as the lightest standard model superpartner depending on the couplings between the Higgs and supersymmetry breaking sectors. In this letter the production and decay of Higgsino pairs to the Goldstone fermion of supersymmetry breaking and the Higgs boson, h, or gauge bosons, Z or $γ$ are considered. Relatively clean di-boson final states, hh, $h γ$, hZ, $Z γ$, or ZZ, with a large amount of missing energy result. The latter channels provide novel discovery modes for supersymmetry at high energy …
We identify two types of well-motivated, so-far experimentally unexplored LHC signatures of extended Higgs sectors: First, Higgs-to-Higgs decay signatures that involve (at least) two Beyond-the-Standard Model (BSM) neutral scalar bosons, $ϕ_i \to ϕ_j ϕ_k$. These signatures are discussed in the framework of the Two-Real-Singlet-Model (TRSM), which can furthermore exhibit cascades of Higgs-to-Higgs decays leading to multi-Higgs final states. Second, the charged Higgs boson decay to a W boson and a neutral BSM Higgs boson, which can easily become the dominant decay within the Two-Higgs-Doublet-Mo…
We discuss the lightest Higgs boson mass in the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model with "pure gravity mediation". By requiring that the model provides the observed dark matter density, we find that the lightest Higgs boson is predicted to be below 132GeV. We also find that the upper limit on the lightest Higgs boson mass becomes 128GeV, if we further assume thermal leptogenesis mechanism as the origin of baryon asymmetry of universe. The interrelations between the Higgs boson mass and the gaugino masses are also discussed.
Recent results of searches for Higgs bosons by the CMS collaboration are presented. These consist of searches for rare Higgs boson decays, searches for additional neutral Higgs bosons, and searches for charged Higgs bosons.
We show that the standard model (SM)-like Higgs boson may decay into neutrinos with a sizable decay branching ratio in one well-known two Higgs doublet model, so-called neutrinophilic Higgs model. This could happen if the mass of the lighter extra neutral Higgs boson is smaller than one half of the SM-like Higgs boson mass. The definite prediction of this scenario is that the rate of the SM-like Higgs boson decay into diphoton normalized by the SM value is about 0.9. In the case that a neutrino is Majorana particle, a displaced vertex of right-handed neutrino decay would be additionally observ…
We show that, in the present inclusive searches for the Higgs boson at the LHC, a fermiophobic Higgs mimics the standard-model-like Higgs if its mass is around 125 GeV. For that mass the order-of-magnitude reduction of fermiophobic Higgs production cross sections is compensated by a corresponding increase in the Higgs branching fraction into $γγ$, while the $WW^*,$ $ZZ^*,$ $Zγ$ signal yields are predicted to be somewhat smaller. The excess seen in the ATLAS and CMS fermiophobic Higgs boson searches in $γγ$ channel, including the exclusive vector-boson-fusion analysis, suggests that the LHC see…
We compute the next-to-next-to-leading order QCD corrections to Higgs boson production in weak boson fusion followed by its decay to a $b\bar b$ pair or to a pair of leptonically-decaying $W$ bosons. Our calculation allows us to compute realistic fiducial cross sections and assess the impact of fiducial cuts applied to the Higgs boson decay products on the magnitude of QCD radiative corrections in weak boson fusion.
The existence of charged Higgs boson(s) is inevitable in models with two (or more) Higgs doublets. Hence, their discovery would constitute unambiguous evidence for new physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). Taking into account all relevant results from direct charged and neutral Higgs boson searches at LEP and the LHC, as well as the most recent constraints from flavour physics, we present a detailed analysis of the current phenomenological status of the charged Higgs sector in a variety of well-motivated Two Higgs Doublet Models (2HDMs). We find that charged Higgs bosons as light as 75 GeV c…
By using the LHC and Tevatron measurements of the cross sections to various decay channels relative to the standard model Higgs boson, the total width of the putative 125 GeV Higgs boson is determined as 6.1 +7.7-2.9 MeV. We describe a way to estimate the branching fraction for Higgs decay to dark matter. We also discuss a No-Go theorem for the gammagamma signal of the Higgs boson at the LHC.
We propose a novel process where singly charged Higgs bosons are produced in a same-sign pair via vector boson fusion at hadron colliders in two Higgs doublet models. The process directly relates to the global symmetry structure of the Higgs potential. The produced charged Higgs bosons predominantly decay into a tau lepton and the neutrino or into a pair of top and bottom quarks, depending on the type of Yukawa interactions. We evaluate the signal and the background for the both cases at the CERN Large Hadron Collider and future higher-energy hadron colliders. We find that the process can be f…
We propose a new method to determine the spin of Higgs bosons at the LHC by using the decay products of black holes. Black holes may be produced if TeV-scale gravity theories are correct, and black holes decay into several particles. This decay results in the emission of high energy particles, including Higgs bosons. The difference of the degree of freedom between spin 0 and spin 1 Higgs bosons leads to a difference of the number of reconstructed Higgs bosons. From this fact, we can determine the spin of Higgs bosons with $5 σ$ significance by using the integrated luminosity L = 2.4 fb^-1, whi…
Various theories beyond the Standard Model predict the existence of heavy resonances decaying to Higgs (H) boson pairs. In order to maximize the sensitivity of searches for such resonances, it is important that experimental analyses cover a variety of decay modes. The decay of H boson pairs to four $τ$ leptons (HH$ \to ττττ$) has not been discussed in the literature so far. This decay mode provides a small branching fraction, but also comparatively low backgrounds. We present an algorithm for the reconstruction of the mass of the H boson pair in events in which the H boson pair decays via HH$ …
Searches for diphoton resonance have been shown to be very useful in discovering new heavy spin-0 or spin-2 particles. Supposing that a new heavy particle shows up in the diphoton channel and it points to a spin-0 boson, it can be allowed to have a small mixing with the observed 125 GeV Higgs-like boson. We borrow the example of the 750 GeV particles hinted with 3.2 fb$^{-1}$ data at the end of 2015 (though it did not appear in the 2016 data) to perform an analysis of "double Higgcision". In this work, we perform a complete Higgs-signal strength analysis in the Higgs-portal type framework, usi…
The present status of ATLAS searches for Higgs bosons in extensions of the Standard Model (SM) is presented. This includes searches for the Higgs bosons of the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM), the Minimal Supersymmetric Model (MSSM), the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Model (NMSSM) and models with an invisibly decaying Higgs boson. A review of the phenomenology of the Higgs sectors of these models is given together with the search strategy and the resulting experimental constraints.
We calculate the multi-photon decay widths of the Higgs boson from an effective Lagrangian for a system of electromagnetic and Higgs fields. We utilize a low-energy theorem to connect the above Lagrangian to the Heisenberg-Euler effective Lagrangian induced by charged particles that gain mass from interactions with the Higgs boson. In the standard model only the W^\pm gauge bosons and the top quark are relevant, and we compute their contributions to the effective couplings and the multi-photon decay widths of the Higgs boson.
The scenario of two mass-degenerate Higgs bosons within the general two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) is revisited. We focus on the global picture when two $CP$-even Higgs bosons of $h$ and $H$ are nearly mass-degenerate. A global fit to the signal strength of the 125 GeV Higgs measured at the LHC is performed. Based on the best-fit result of the 2HDM mixing angles $(α,β)$, theoretical constraints, charged and $CP$-odd Higgs boson direct search constraints and the electroweak precision constraints are imposed to the 2HDM parameter space. We present the signal predictions of the $(4b\,, 2b\,2γ)$ c…
Charged Higgs boson can exist in many physics beyond the standard models (BSM) and it is the obvious BSM signal. We briefly describe why the 125GeV scalar discovered at the LHC must have (heavy) companion: the charged Higgs boson, in a new paradigm. We then focus on the charged Higgs phenomenology, especially on how to measure $\tanβ$ precisely utilizing the top quark polarization information.
We explore the implications of a 126 GeV Higgs boson indicated by the recent LHC results for two-Higgs doublet model (2HDM). Identifying the 126 GeV Higgs boson as either the lighter or heavier of CP even neutral Higgs bosons in 2HDM, we examine how the masses of Higgs fields and mixing parameters can be constrained by the theoretical conditions and experimental constraints. The theoretical conditions taken into account are the vacuum stability, perturbativity and unitarity required to be satisfied up to a cut-off scale. We also show how bounds on the masses of Higgs bosons and mixing paramete…
We present an algorithm for the reconstruction of the Higgs mass in events with Higgs bosons decaying into a pair of tau leptons. The algorithm is based on matrix element (ME) techniques and achieves a relative resolution on the Higgs boson mass of typically 15-20%. A previous version of the algorithm has been used in analyses of Higgs boson production performed by the CMS collaboration during LHC Run 1. The algorithm is described in detail and its performance on simulated events is assessed. The development of techniques to handle tau decays in the ME formalism represents an important result …
The minimal $U(1)_X$ extension of the Standard Model (SM) is a simple and well-motivated extension of the SM, which supplements the SM with the seesaw mechanism for naturally generating the light neutrino masses and offers various interesting phenomenologies. In the model, the $U(1)_X$ charge of each SM field is characterized by the $U(1)_X$ charge of the SM Higgs doublet with a free parameter $x_H$. Due to the $U(1)_X$ charge of the Higgs doublet, the Higgs boson has a trilinear coupling with the $Z$ boson and the $U(1)_X$ gauge boson ($Z^\prime$). With this coupling, a new process for the as…
We investigate the SM Higgs decays into heavy quarkonia J/ψand Υin both color-singlet and color-octet mechanisms. It is found that in J/ψproduction the contribution through color-octet processes overwhelm that in color-singlet processes all the intermediate region M_Z<M_{H^0}<2 M_w and the fraction ratio is comparatively large, but in Υproduction the contribution through color-octet mechanism is negligible.
The latest electroweak precission data allow the existence of additional chiral generations in the standard model. We study the influence of extra generations on the production of SM Higgs boson at hadron colliders. Due to the enhancement of the gluon fusion channel, the ``golden mode'' becomes more promising even at upgraded Tevatron. Furthermore, the formation of the fourth family quarkonia with the subsequent $η_{4}\to ZH$ decay introduces additional tool for the investigation of the Higgs boson properties.
Pseudoscalar and charged Higgs bosons production in the processes $μ^+ μ^-\to P^0_i Z^0$, $μ^+μ^- \to H^{\pm}W^{\mp}$ within the models with several Higgs doublets and singlets is considered.
We discuss the triviality and spontaneous symmetry breaking scenario where the Higgs boson without self-interaction coexists with spontaneous symmetry breaking. We argue that non perturbative lattice investigations support this scenario. Moreover, from lattice simulations we predict that the Higgs boson is rather heavy. We estimate the Higgs boson mass $m_H = 754 \pm 20 {\text{(stat)}} \pm 20 {\text{(syst)}} {\text{GeV}}$ and the Higgs total width $Γ(H) \simeq 340 {\text{GeV}}$.
$B_c$ production rate in Higgs boson decays is evaluated in NRQCD framework. Given Higgs total decay width is about $4.20~MeV$ and the vector $B^*_c$ meson decays completely to the ground state, we find that the branching fraction of $B_c$ meson production in Higgs decays is $8.50\times10^{-4}$, where both leading QED and QCD contributions are included. This process is hence detectable in the high-luminosity/energy LHC. In confronting to the quarkonia production, we find that the fraction rate of $B_c$ production is more than an order of magnitude bigger than those of charmonium and bottomoium…
