We study a two-component dark matter model consisting of a Dirac fermion and a complex scalar charged under new U(1) gauge group in the hidden sector. The dark fermion plays the dominant component of dark matter which explains the measured DM relic density of the Universe. It has no direct coupling to ordinary standard model particles, thus evading strong constraints from the direct DM detection experiments. The dark fermion is self-interacting through the light dark gauge boson and it would be possible to address that this model can be a resolution to the small scale structure problem of the Universe. The light dark gauge boson, which interacts with the standard model sector, is also stable and composes the subdominant DM component. We investigate the model parameter space allowed by current experimental constraints and phenomenological bounds. We also discuss the sensitivity of future experiments such as SHiP, DUNE and ILC, for the obtained allowed parameter space.
New confining sectors can contain a set of pseudo-Goldstone mesons that exhibit a complicated structure in terms of stability and relative masses. Stable ones can act as dark matter candidates, while their interactions with the unstable ones determine their relic abundances. The overall structure, by specifying which channels are kinematically forbidden or not, affects the cosmology, constraints and collider phenomenology. In this paper, we present a classification of these pseudo-Goldstone meson structures. We find that the structures can be classified into three categories, corresponding to …
We analyze the consistency of electroweak breaking, neutrino and dark matter phenomenology within the simplest scoto-seesaw model. By adding the minimal dark sector to the simplest "missing partner" type-I seesaw one has a physical picture for the neutrino oscillation lengths: the "atmospheric" mass scale arises from the tree-level seesaw, while the "solar" scale is induced radiatively, mediated by the dark sector. We identify parameter regions consistent with theoretical constraints, as well as dark matter relic abundance and direct detection searches. Using two-loop renormalization group equ…
We analyze a model with unbroken B-L gauge symmetry where neutrino masses are generated at one loop, after spontaneous breaking of a global U(1) symmetry. These symmetries ensure dark matter stability and the Diracness of neutrinos. Within this context, we examine fermionic dark matter. Consistency between the required neutrino mass and the observed relic abundance indicates dark matter masses and couplings within the reach of direct detection experiments.
We discuss the phenomenology of a minimal model for GeV-scale Majorana dark matter (DM) coupled to the standard model lepton sector via a charged scalar singlet. The theoretical framework extends the Standard Model by two $SU(2)_L$ singlets: one charged Higgs boson and a singlet right-handed fermion. The latter plays the role of the DM candidate. We show that there is an anti-correlation between the spin-independent DM-Nucleus scattering cross-section ($σ_{\rm SI}$) and the DM relic density. We suggest a scenario that can be tested in both electron-electron and electron-positron collisions usi…
We consider dark matter physics in a model for the dark sector with extra dark U(1)$_X$ gauge symmetry. The dark sector is composed of exotic fermions that are charged under both dark U(1)$_X$ and the standard model SU(3)$_C \times$U(1)$_Y$ gauge groups, as well as standard model singlet complex scalars $Φ$ and $X$ with nonzero U(1)$_X$ charge. In this model, there are two dark matter candidates$-$a scalar and a fermion$-$both of which are stabilized by accidental $Z_2$ symmetry. Their thermal relic density, and direct and indirect detection constraints are discussed in detail and we search fo…
We review the phenomenology of gravitino dark matter within supergravity framework. Gravitino can be dark matter if it is the lightest supersymmetric particle, which is stable if R-parity is conserved. There are several distinct scenarios depending on what the next to lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) is. We discuss the constraints and summarize the phenomenology of neutralino, stau, stop and sneutrino NLSPs.
We discuss some aspects of dark matter phenomenology, in particular related to Direct detection and collider searches, of models in which a fermionic Dark Matter interacts with SM fermions through spin 1 mediators. Contrary to conventional simplified models we will consider fixed assignments of the couplings of the ($Z^{'}$) mediator, according theoretically motivated embeddings. This allows to predict signals at future experimental facilities which can be used to test and possibly discriminate different realizations.
New gauge symmetries often appear in theories beyond the Standard Model. Here we study a model where lepton number is promoted to a gauge symmetry. Anomaly cancellation requires the introduction of additional leptons, the lightest of which is a natural leptophilic dark matter candidate. We perform a comprehensive study of both collider and dark matter phenomenology. Furthermore we find that the model exhibits a first order lepton number breaking phase transition in large regions of parameter space. The corresponding gravitational wave signal is computed, and its detectability at LISA and other…
We study the impact of semi-annihilations x_i x_j <-> x_k X, where x_i is any dark matter and X is any standard model particle, on dark matter phenomenology. We formulate minimal scalar dark matter models with an extra doublet and a complex singlet that predict non-trivial dark matter phenomenology with semi-annihilation processes for different discrete Abelian symmetries Z_N, N>2. We implement two such example models with Z_3 and Z_4 symmetry in micrOMEGAs and work out their phenomenology. We show that both semi-annihilations and annihilations involving only particles from two different dark …
We discuss phenomenology in a new TeV scale model which would explain neutrino oscillation, dark matter, and baryon asymmetry of the Universe simultaneously by the dynamics of the extended Higgs sector and TeV-scale right-handed neutrinos. Tiny neutrino masses are generated at the three-loop level due to the exact $Z_2$ symmetry, by which the stability of the dark matter candidate is guaranteed. The model provides various discriminative predictions in Higgs phenomenology, which can be tested at the Large Hadron Collider and the International Linear Collider.

The constituents of dark matter are still an unresolved puzzle. Several Beyond Standard Model (BSM) Physics offer suitable candidates. In this study here we consider the Two Higgs Doublet model augmented with a complex scalar singlet (2HDMS) and focus on the dark matter phenomenology of 2HDMS with the complex scalar singlet as the dark matter candidate. The parameter space allowed from existing experimental constraints from dark matter, flavour physics and collider searches has been studied. The discovery potential for such a 2HDMS at HL-LHC and at future $e^+e^-$ colliders has been worked out…
I present a class of hidden sector dark matter (DM) models with local dark gauge symmetries, where DM is stable due to unbroken local dark gauge symmetry, or due topology, or it is long-lived because of some accidental symme- tries, and the particle contents and their dynamics are completely fixed by local gauge symmetries. In these models, one have two types of natural force mediators, dark gauge bosons and dark Higgs boson, which would affect DM and Higgs phenomenology in important ways. I discuss various phenomenological issues including the GeV scale gamma-ray excess from the galactic cent…
We study the dark matter phenomenology of scotogenic frameworks through a rather illustrative model extending the Standard Model by scalar and fermionic singlets and doublets. Such a setup is phenomenologically attractive since it provides the radiative generation of neutrino masses, while also including viable candidates for cold dark matter. We employ a Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm to explore the associated parameter space in view of numerous constraints stemming from the Higgs mass, the neutrino sector, dark matter, and lepton-flavour violating processes. After a general discussion of…
We study the effective field theory obtained by extending the Standard Model field content with two singlets: a 750 GeV (pseudo-)scalar and a stable fermion. Accounting for collider productions initiated by both gluon and photon fusion, we investigate where the theory is consistent with both the LHC diphoton excess and bounds from Run 1. We analyze dark matter phenomenology in such regions, including relic density constraints as well as collider, direct, and indirect bounds. Scalar portal dark matter models are very close to limits from direct detection and mono-jet searches if gluon fusion do…
Understanding the properties of dark matter has proved to be one of the most challenging problems of particle phenomenology. In this paper, we have tried to understand the phenomenology of dark matter in light of very well understood properties of cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy. To connect these two, inflation and its subsequent evolution known as the reheating phase play the important role. Following the previous analysis, we first established a one-to-one correspondence between the CMB power spectrum and the reheating temperature assuming the perturbative reheating scenario. Fu…
We study the implications of phenomenological processes on a two-singlet extension of the Standard Model we introduced in a previous work to describe light cold dark matter. We look into the rare decays of $Υ$ and $B$ mesons, most particularly the invisible channels, and study the decay channels of the Higgs particle. Preferred regions of the parameter space are indicated, together with others that are excluded. Comments in relation to recent Higgs searches and finds at the LHC are made.
We propose an extended version of the gauge-mediated SUSY breaking models where extra $SU(2)_L$ doublets and singlet field are introduced. These fields are assumed to be parity-odd under an additional matter parity. In this model, the lightest parity-odd particle among them would be dark matter in the Universe. In this paper, we discuss direct detection of the dark matter and the collider signatures of the model
We will investigate the scenario in which the Standard Model (SM) Higgs sector and its 2-doublet extension (called the Two Higgs Doublet Model or 2HDM) are the "portal" for the interactions between the Standard Model and a fermionic Dark Matter (DM) candidate. The latter is the lightest stable neutral particle of a family of vector-like leptons (VLLs). We will provide an extensive overview of this scenario combining the constraints purely coming from DM phenomenology with more general constraints like Electro-weak Precision Tests (EWPT) as well as with collider searches. In the case that the n…
We present a detailed study of dark matter phenomenology in low-scale left-right symmetric models. Stability of new fermion or scalar multiplets is ensured by an accidental matter parity that survives the spontaneous symmetry breaking of the gauge group by scalar triplets. The relic abundance of these particles is set by gauge interactions and gives rise to dark matter candidates with masses above the electroweak scale. Dark matter annihilations are thus modified by the Sommerfeld effect, not only in the early Universe, but also today, for instance, in the Center of the Galaxy. Majorana candid…
Recent data on $e^+/e^-$ and $\bar{p}$ cosmic rays suggest that dark matter annihilate into the standard model (SM) particles through new leptophilic interaction. In this paper, we consider a standard model extension with the gauged $U(1)_{L_μ- L_τ}$ group, with a new Dirac fermion charged under this U(1) as a dark matter. We study the muon $(g-2)_μ$, thermal relic density of the cold dark matter, and the collider signatures of this model. $Z^{'}$ productions at the Tevatron or the LHC could be easily order of $O(1)-O(10^3)$ fb.
The left-right twin Higgs model predicts a light stable scalar \hat{S}, which is a candidate for WIMP dark matter. We study its scattering on nucleon and find that the cross section is below the CDMS II upper bound but can reach the SuperCDMS sensitivity. Then we study the Higgs phenomenology by paying special attention to the decay h -> \hat{S} \hat{S} which is strongly correlated with the dark matter scattering on nucleon. We find that such an invisible decay can be sizable, which can severely suppress the conventional decay modes like h->VV (V=W,Z) and h->b\bar{b}. On the other hand, compar…
Asymmetric dark matter (ADM) has been an attractive possibility attempting to explain the observed ratio of baryon to dark matter abundance in the universe. While a bosonic ADM is constrained by the limits from existence of old neutron stars, a fermionic ADM requires an additional light particle in order to annihilate its symmetric component in the early universe. We revisit the phenomenology of a minimal GeV scale fermionic ADM model including a light scalar state. The current constraints on this scenario from cosmology, dark matter direct detection, flavour physics and collider searches are …
We study the inclusion of new heavy fermions on complex scalar dark matter (DM) phenomenology within gauged two Higgs doublet model (G2HDM). We find that for DM mass above 1 TeV, heavy quarks coannihilations into the Standard Model (SM) quarks and gluons dominate the thermally-averaged cross section relevant for the relic abundance of complex scalar DM. We demonstrate that the effects of QCD Sommerfeld correction as well as QCD bound state formation in determining the DM relic are negligible. We show that the allowed parameter space is significantly constrained by the current PLANCK relic dens…
We explore the phenomenology of Elastically Decoupling Relic (ELDER) dark matter. ELDER is a thermal relic whose present density is determined primarily by the cross-section of its elastic scattering off Standard Model (SM) particles. Assuming that this scattering is mediated by a kinetically mixed dark photon, we argue that the ELDER scenario makes robust predictions for electron-recoil direct-detection experiments, as well as for dark photon searches. These predictions are independent of the details of interactions within the dark sector. Together with the closely related Strongly-Interactin…
The extension of the standard model's minimal Higgs sector with an inert $SU(2)_L$ scalar doublet can provide light dark matter candidate and simultaneously induce a strong phase transition for explaining Baryogenesis. There is however no symmetry reasons to prevent the extension using scalars with higher $SU(2)_L$ representations. By making random scans over the models' parameters, we show that in the light of electroweak physics constraints, strong first order electroweak phase transition and the possibility of having sub-TeV cold dark matter candidate the higher representations are rather d…
We investigate the phenomenology of a simplified model with a Majorana fermion as dark matter candidate which interacts with Standard Model quarks via a colour-charged coannihilation partner. Recently it has been realized that non-perturbative dynamics, including the Sommerfeld effect, bound state formation/dissociation and thermal corrections, play an important role in coannihilations with coloured mediators. This calls for a careful analysis of thermal freeze-out and a new look at the experimental signatures expected for a thermal relic. We employ a state of the art calculation of the relic …
In the recently proposed dark left-right gauge model of particle interactions, the left-handed fermion doublet $(ν,e)_L$ is connected to its right-handed counterpart $(n,e)_R$ through a scalar bidoublet, but $ν_L$ couples to $n_R$ only through $ϕ_1^0$ which has no vacuum expectation value. The usual R parity, i.e. $R = (-)^{3B+L+2j}$, can be defined for this nonsupersymmetric model so that both $n$ and $Φ_1$ are odd together with $W_R^\pm$. The lightest $n$ is thus a viable dark-matter candidate (scotino). Here we explore the phenomenology associated with the $SU(2)_R$ gauge group of this mode…
We consider the CMB constraints on reheating and dark matter parameter space for a specific plateau type inflationary model. The plateau inflationary models which are currently most favored models from data can be well approximated by a potential of the form $V(ϕ)\propto ϕ^n$ around $ϕ=0$. This fact makes it possible to study the reheating phase with general inflaton equation of state in a viable cosmological scenario. In addition, following our recent work[1], we generalize the connection between reheating and the present CMB data and the dark matter parameter space for general inflaton equat…
We discuss a model with a dark sector, in which smallness of mass for charged leptons and neutrinos can naturally be explained by one-loop effects mediated by particles in the dark sector. These new particles, including dark matter candidates, also contribute to the anomalous magnetic dipole moment, denoted by $(g-2)$, for charged leptons. We show that our model can explain the muon $(g-2)$ anomaly and observed neutrino oscillations under the constraints from lepton flavor violating decays of charged leptons. We illustrate that the scenario with scalar dark matter is highly constrained by dire…
We examine the collider and dark matter phenomenology of the Standard Model extended by a hypercharge-zero SU(2) triplet scalar and gauge singlet scalar. In particular, we study the scenario where the singlet and triplet are both charged under a single $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry. We find that such an extension is capable of generating the observed dark matter density, while also modifying the collider phenomenology such that the lower bound on the mass of the triplet is smaller than in minimal triplet scalar extensions to the Standard Model. A high triplet mass is in tension with the parameter sp…
We propose an extension of the Standard Model (SM) with a $U_{A'}(1)$ gauge invariant dark dector connected to the SM via a new portal -- the Stueckelberg portal, arising in the framework of dark photon $A'$ mass generation via Stueckelberg mechanism. This portal opens through the effective dim=5 operators constructed from the covariant term of the auxiliary Stueckelberg scalar field $σ$ providing flavor non-diagonal renormalizable couplings of both $σ$ and $A'$ to the SM fermions $ψ$. The Stueckelberg scalar plays a role of Goldstone boson in the generation of mass of the Dark Photon. Contrar…
We present a model based on the A4 non-abelian discrete symmetry leading to a predictive five-parameter neutrino mass matrix and providing a stable dark matter candidate. We found an interesting correlation among the atmospheric and the reactor angles which predicts theta_23 ~ pi/4 for very small reactor angle and deviation from maximal atmospheric mixing for large theta_13. Only normal neutrino mass spectrum is possible and the effective mass entering the neutrinoless double beta decay rate is constrained to be |m_ee| > 4 10^{-4} eV.
In the model of quintessino as dark matter particle, the dark matter and dark energy are unified in one superfield, where the dynamics of the Quintessence drives the Universe acceleration and its superpartner, quintessino, makes up the dark matter of the Universe. This scenario predicts the existence of long lived $\tildeτ$ as the next lightest supersymmetric particle. In this paper we study the possibility of detecting $\tildeτ$ produced by the high energy cosmic neutrinos interacting with the earth matter. By a detailed calculation we find that the event rate is one to several hundred per ye…
We discuss the possibility that a Stueckelberg portal connects both Standard Model and Dark Matter sectors. The particle responsible of this portal is the lightest Z' boson that induces isospin-violating interactions. This property leads to a rich phenomenology for the direct detection and collider experiments that can constraint the parameter space of this kind of models and can be tested in the future.
I compare the non-relativistic effective theory of one-body dark matter-nucleon interactions to current dark matter direct detection experiments and neutrino telescope observations, presenting exclusion limits on the coupling constants of the theory. In the analysis of direct detection experiments, I focus on the interference of different dark matter-nucleon interaction operators and on predictions observable at directional detectors. Interpreting neutrino telescope observations, I use new nuclear response functions recently derived through nuclear structure calculations and show that hydrogen…
We propose an interesting model of neutrino masses to realize leptogenesis and dark matter at the TeV scale. A real scalar is introduced to naturally realize the Majorana masses of the right-handed neutrinos. We also include a new Higgs doublet that contributes to the dark matter of the universe. The neutrino masses come from the vacuum expectation value of the triplet Higgs scalar. The right-handed neutrinos are not constrained by the neutrino masses and hence they could generate leptogenesis at the TeV scale without subscribing to resonant leptogenesis. In our model, all new particles could …
Colored dark sectors where the dark matter particle is accompanied by colored partners have recently attracted theoretical and phenomenological interest. We explore the possibility that the dark sector consists of the dark matter particle and a color-octet partner, where the interaction with the Standard Model is governed by an effective operator involving gluons. The resulting interactions resemble the color analogues of electric and magnetic dipole moments. Although many phenomenological features of this kind of model only depend on the group representation of the partner under SU(3)$_c$, we…
The Large Volume Scenario for getting a non-supersymmetric vacuum in type IIB string theory leads, through the Weyl anomaly and renormalization group running, to an interesting phenomenology. However, for gravitino masses below 500 TeV there are cosmological problems and the resulting Higgs mass is well below 124 GeV. Here we discuss the phenomenology and cosmology for gravitino masses which are $\gtrsim$ 500 TeV. We find that not only is the cosmological modulus problem alleviated and the right value for dark matter density obtained, but also the Higgs mass is in the 122-125 GeV range. Howeve…
Scalar singlet dark matter in anomaly-free composite Higgs models is accompanied by exotic particles to which the dark matter annihilates. The latter can therefore freeze out even in the absence of couplings to the Standard Model. In this regime, both current and future direct detection constraints can be avoided. Moreover, due to the different decay modes of the extra particles, the dark matter candidate can even escape indirect detection constraints. Assessing this issue requires dedicated simulations of the gamma ray spectrum, that we provide in the present article in the context of $SO(7)/…
Neutrinos are the only particles in the Standard Model of particle physics that have only been observed with left handed chirality to date. If right handed neutrinos exist, they could be responsible for several phenomena that have no explanation within the Standard Model, including neutrino oscillations, the baryon asymmetry of the universe, dark matter and dark radiation. After a pedagogical introduction, we review recent progress in the phenomenology of right handed neutrinos. We in particular discuss the mass ranges suggested by hints for neutrino oscillation anomalies and dark radiation (e…
The presence of a hidden sector with very weak interactions with the standard model has significant implications on LHC signatures. In this work we discuss LHC phenomenology with the inclusion of a hidden sector by a $U(1)$ extension of MSSM/SUGRA. We consider both kinetic mixing and Stueckelberg mass mixing between the $U(1)$ gauge field of the hidden sector and $U(1)_Y$ of the visible sector. Such a model has an extended parameter space. We consider here two limited regions of this parameter space. In the first case we consider a $U(1)$ gauge field along with chiral fields needed for the Stu…
Gauged $U(1)_{L_μ- L_τ}$ model has been advocated for a long time in light of muon $g-2$ anomaly, which is a more than $3σ$ discrepancy between the experimental measurement and the standard model prediction. We augment this model with three right-handed neutrinos $(N_e, N_μ, N_τ)$ and a vector-like singlet fermion $(χ)$ to explain simultaneously the non-zero neutrino mass and dark matter content of the Universe, while satisfying anomalous muon $g-2$ constraints. It is shown that in a large parameter space of this model we can explain positron excess, observed at PAMELA, Fermi-LAT and AMS-02, t…
We consider a model of dynamical neutrino masses via the see-saw mechanism. Nambu-Goldstone bosons (majorons) arise associated with the formation of the heavy right-handed majorana masses. These bosons then acquire naturally soft masses (become pNGB's) at loop level via the Higgs-Yukawa mass terms. These models, like the original neutrino pNGB quintessence schemes of the 1980's that proceed through the Dirac masses, are natural, have cosmological implications through mass varying neutrinos, long range forces, and provide a soft potential for dark energy. We further argue that these models can …
We reexamine the minimal Singlet + Triplet Scotogenic Model, where dark matter is the mediator of neutrino mass generation. We assume it to be a scalar WIMP, whose stability follows from the same $\mathbb{Z} _{2}$ symmetry that leads to the radiative origin of neutrino masses. The scheme is the minimal one that allows for solar and atmospheric mass scales to be generated. We perform a full numerical analysis of the signatures expected at dark matter as well as collider experiments. We identify parameter regions where dark matter predictions agree with theoretical and experimental constraints, …
We study the possibility of a light Dark Matter (DM) within a constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (cMSSM) framework augmented by a SM singlet-pair sector to account for the non-zero neutrino masses by inverse seesaw mechanism. Working within a 'hybrid' scenario with the MSSM sector fixed at high scale and the singlet neutrino sector at low scale, we find that, contrary to the case of the usual cMSSM where the neutralino DM cannot be very light, we can have a light sneutrino DM with mass below 100 GeV satisfying all the current experimental constraints from cosmology, collider as …
We perform a general study of the relic density and LHC constraints on simplified models where the dark matter coannihilates with a strongly interacting particle X. In these models, the dark matter depletion is driven by the self-annihilation of X to pairs of quarks and gluons through the strong interaction. The phenomenology of these scenarios therefore only depends on the dark matter mass and the mass splitting between dark matter and X as well as the quantum numbers of X. In this paper, we consider simplified models where X can be either a scalar, a fermion or a vector, as well as a color t…
