We consider the graphical mean curvature flow of strictly area decreasing maps $f:M\to N$, where $M$ is a compact Riemannian manifold of dimension $m>1$ and $N$ a complete Riemannian surface of bounded geometry. We prove long-time existence of the flow and that the strictly area decreasing property is preserved, when the bi-Ricci curvature $BRic_M$ of $M$ is bounded from below by the sectional curvature $σ_N$ of $N$. In addition, we obtain smooth convergence to a minimal map if $Ric_M\ge\sup\{0,{\sup}_Nσ_N\}$. These results significantly improve known results on the graphical mean curvature flow in codimension $2$.
We extend the concept of singular Ricci flow by Kleiner and Lott from 3d compact manifolds to 3d complete manifolds with possibly unbounded curvature. As an application of the generalized singular Ricci flow, we show that for any 3d complete Riemannian manifold with non-negative Ricci curvature, there exists a smooth Ricci flow starting from it.
The notion of the Ricci curvature is defined for sprays on a manifold. With a volume form on a manifold, every spray can be deformed to a projective spray. The Ricci curvature of a projective spray is called the projective Ricci curvature. In this paper, we introduce the notion of projectively Ricci-flat sprays. We establish a global rigidity result for projectively Ricci-flat sprays with nonnegative Ricci curvature. Then we study and characterize projectively Ricci-flat Randers metrics.
We establish a dichotomy on the curvature decay for four dimensional complete noncompact non Ricci flat steady gradient Ricci soliton with linear curvature decay and proper potential function. A similar dichotomy is also shown in higher dimensions under the additional assumption that the Ricci curvature is nonnegative outside a compact subset.
We extend Cheeger-Gromov's and Anderson's convergence theorems to regular limit spaces of manifolds with bounded Ricci curvature and local covering geometry, by establishing the $C^{1,α}$-regularities that are the best one may expect on those Ricci-limit spaces. As an application we prove an optimal generalization of Fukaya's fibration theorem on collapsed manifolds with bounded Ricci curvature, which also improves the original version to $C^{1,α}$ limit spaces.
Motivated by the recent work of Chu-Lee-Tam on the nefness of canonical line bundle for compact Kähler manifolds with nonpositive $k$-Ricci curvature, we consider a natural notion of {\em almost nonpositive $k$-Ricci curvature}, which is weaker than the existence of a Kähler metric with nonpositive $k$-Ricci curvature. When $k=1$, this is just the {\em almost nonpositive holomorphic sectional curvature} introduced by Zhang. We firstly give a lower bound for the existence time of the twisted Kähler-Ricci flow when there exists a Kähler metric with $k$-Ricci curvature bounded from above by a pos…
We will show the Cheeger-Colding segment inequality for manifolds with integral Ricci curvature bound. By using this segment inequality, the almost rigidity structure results for integral Ricci curvature will be derived by a similar method as in \cite{CC1}. And the sharp Hölder continuity result of \cite{CoN} holds in the limit space of manifolds with integral Ricci curvature bound.
In a previous paper, we constructed complete manifolds of positive Ricci curvature with quadratically asymptotically nonnegative curvature and infinite topological type but dimension $\ge 6$. The purpose of the present paper is to use a different way to exhibit a family of complete $I$-dimensinal ($I\ge5$) Riemannian manifolds of positive Ricci curvature, quadratically asymptotically nonnegative sectional curvature, and certain infinite Betti number $b_j$ ($2\le j\le I-2$).
We are concerned with the study of different notions of curvature on graphs. We show that if a graph has stronger inner-outer curvature growth than a model graph, then it has faster volume growth too. We also study the relationhips of volume growth with other kind of curvatures, such as the Ollivier-Ricci curvature.
We show that a complete Ricci flow of bounded curvature which begins from a manifold with a Ricci lower bound, local entropy bound, and small local scale-invariant integral curvature control will have global point-wise curvature control at positive times. As applications, we obtain under similar assumptions a compactness result and a gap theorem for complete noncompact manifolds with nonnegative Ricci Curvature.
We survey some recent developments in the study of collapsing Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded below, especially the locally bounded Ricci covering geometry and the Ricci flow smoothing techniques. We then prove that if a Calabi-Yau manifold is sufficiently volume collapsed with bounded diameter and sectional curvature, then it admits a Ricci-flat Kähler metrictogether with a compatible pure nilpotent Killing structure: this is related to an open question of Cheeger, Fukaya and Gromov.
