We consider the continuous Anderson operator $H=Δ+ξ$ on a two dimensional closed Riemannian manifold $\mathcal{S}$. We provide a short self-contained functional analysis construction of the operator as an unbounded operator on $L^2(\mathcal{S})$ and give almost sure spectral gap estimates under mild geometric assumptions on the Riemannian manifold. We prove a sharp Gaussian small time asymptotic for the heat kernel of $H$ that leads amongst others to strong norm estimates for quasimodes. We introduce a new random field, called Anderson Gaussian free field, and prove that the law of its random partition function characterizes the law of the spectrum of $H$. We also give a simple and short construction of the polymer measure on path space and relate the Wick square of the Anderson Gaussian free field to the occupation measure of a Poisson process of loops of polymer paths. We further prove large deviation results for the polymer measure and its bridges.
We prove a chaos expansion for the 2D parabolic Anderson Model in small time, with the expansion coefficients expressed in terms of the annealed density function of the polymer in a white noise environment.
We consider large time behavior of typical paths under the Anderson polymer measure. If $P$ is the measure induced by rate $κ,$ simple, symmetric random walk on $Z^d$ started at $x,$ this measure is defined as $$ dμ(X)={Z^{-1} \exp\{β\int_0^T dW_{X(s)}(s)\}dP(X) $$ where $\{W_x:x\in Z^d\}$ is a field of $iid$ standard, one-dimensional Brownian motions, $β>0, κ>0$ and $Z$ the normalizing constant. We establish that the polymer measure gives a macroscopic mass to a small neighborhood of a typical path as $T \to \infty$, for parameter values outside the perturbative regime of the random walk, giv…
We study the free energy of the Parabolic Anderson Model, a time-continuous model of directed polymers in random environment. We prove that in dimension 1 and 2, the free energy is always negative, meaning that very strong disorder always holds. The result for discrete polymers in dimension two, as well as better bounds on the free energy on dimension 1, were first obtained by Hubert Lacoin, and the goal of this paper is to adapt his proof to the Anderson Parabolic Model.
We consider a discrete-time version of the parabolic Anderson model. This may be described as a model for a directed (1+d)-dimensional polymer interacting with a random potential, which is constant in the deterministic direction and i.i.d. in the d orthogonal directions. The potential at each site is a positive random variable with a polynomial tail at infinity. We show that, as the size of the system diverges, the polymer extremity is localized almost surely at one single point which grows ballistically. We give an explicit characterization of the localization point and of the typical paths o…
We prove an invariance principle for the two-dimensional lattice parabolic Anderson model with small potential. As applications we deduce a Donsker type convergence result for a discrete random polymer measure, as well as a universality result for the spectrum of discrete random Schrödinger operators on large boxes with small potentials. Our proof is based on paracontrolled distributions and some basic results for multiple stochastic integrals of discrete martingales.
We consider the random Schrödinger operator on $\mathbb{R}$ obtained by perturbing the Laplacian with a white noise. We prove that Anderson localization holds for this operator: almost surely the spectral measure is pure point and the eigenfunctions are exponentially localized. We give two separate proofs of this result. We also present a detailed construction of the operator and relate it to the parabolic Anderson model. Finally, we discuss the case where the noise is smoothed out.

We consider the Anderson polymer partition function $$ u(t):=\mathbb{E}^X\Bigl[e^{\int_0^t \mathrm{d}B^{X(s)}_s}\Bigr]\,, $$ where $\{B^{x}_t\,;\, t\geq0\}_{x\in\mathbb{Z}^d}$ is a family of independent fractional Brownian motions all with Hurst parameter $H\in(0,1)$, and $\{X(t)\}_{t\in \mathbb{R}^{\geq 0}}$ is a continuous-time simple symmetric random walk on $\mathbb{Z}^d$ with jump rate $κ$ and started from the origin. $\mathbb{E}^X$ is the expectation with respect to this random walk. We prove that when $H\leq 1/2$, the function $u(t)$ almost surely grows asymptotically like $e^{l t}$, wh…
We construct the continuous Anderson hamiltonian on $(-L,L)^d$ driven by a white noise and endowed with either Dirichlet or periodic boundary conditions. Our construction holds in any dimension $d\le 3$ and relies on the theory of regularity structures: it yields a self-adjoint operator in $L^2\big((-L,L)^d\big)$ with pure point spectrum. In $d\ge 2$, a renormalisation of the operator by means of infinite constants is required to compensate for ill-defined products involving functionals of the white noise. We also obtain left tail estimates on the distributions of the eigenvalues: in particula…
An ensemble of quasi-periodic discrete Schrödinger operators with an arbitrary number of basic frequencies is considered, in a lattice of arbitrary dimension, in which the hull function is a realisation of a stationary Gaussian process on the torus. We show that, for almost every element of the ensemble, the quasi-periodic operator boasts Anderson localization with simple pure point spectrum at strong coupling. One of the ingredients of the proof is a new lower bound on the interpolation error for stationary Gaussian processes on the torus (also known as local non-determinism).
A one-channel operator is a self-adjoint operator on $\ell^2(\mathbb{G})$ for some countable set $\mathbb{G}$ with a rank 1 transition structure along the sets of a quasi-spherical partition of $\mathbb{G}$. Jacobi operators are a very special case. In essence, there is only one channel through which waves can travel across the shells to infinity. This channel can be described with transfer matrices which include scattering terms within the shells and connections to neighboring shells. Not all of the transfer matrices are defined for some countable set of energies. Still, many theorems from th…
In 1990, Klein, Lacroix, and Speis proved (spectral) Anderson localisation for the Anderson model on the strip of width $W \geqslant 1$, allowing for singular distribution of the potential. Their proof employs multi-scale analysis, in addition to arguments from the theory of random matrix products (the case of regular distributions was handled earlier in the works of Goldsheid and Lacroix by other means). We give a proof of their result avoiding multi-scale analysis, and also extend it to the general quasi-one-dimensional model, allowing, in particular, random hopping. Furthermore, we prove a …
We consider the model of the directed polymer in a random medium of dimension 1+3, and investigate its multifractal properties at the localization/delocalization transition. In close analogy with models of the quantum Anderson localization transition, where the multifractality of critical wavefunctions is well established, we analyse the statistics of the position weights $w_L(\vec r)$ of the end-point of the polymer of length $L$ via the moments $Y_q(L) = \sum_{\vec r} [w_L(\vec r)]^q$. We measure the generalized exponents $τ(q)$ and $\tilde τ(q)$ governing the decay of the typical values $Y^…
We consider the Anderson model with Bernoulli potential on the 3D lattice, and prove localization of eigenfunctions corresponding to eigenvalues near zero, the lower boundary of the spectrum. We follow the framework by Bourgain-Kenig and Ding-Smart, and our main contribution is a 3D discrete unique continuation, which says that any eigenfunction of the harmonic operator with bounded potential cannot be too small on a significant fractional portion of all the points. Its proof relies on geometric arguments about the 3D lattice.
We introduce a random differential operator, that we call the $\mathtt{CS}_τ$ operator, whose spectrum is given by the $\mbox{Sch}_τ$ point process introduced by Kritchevski, Valkó and Virág (2012) and whose eigenvectors match with the description provided by Rifkind and Virág (2018). This operator acts on $\mathbf{R}^2$-valued functions from the interval $[0,1]$ and takes the form: $$ 2 \begin{pmatrix} 0 & -\partial_t \\ \partial_t & 0 \end{pmatrix} + \sqrtτ \begin{pmatrix} d\mathcal{B} + \frac1{\sqrt 2} d\mathcal{W}_1 & \frac1{\sqrt 2} d\mathcal{W}_2\\ \frac1{\sqrt 2} d\mathcal{W}_2 & d\math…
We consider random Schrödinger operators with Dirichlet boundary conditions outside lattice approximations of a smooth Euclidean domain and study the behavior of its lowest-lying eigenvalues in the limit when the lattice spacing tends to zero. Under a suitable moment assumption on the random potential and regularity of the spatial dependence of its mean, we prove that the eigenvalues of the random operator converge to those of a deterministic Schrödinger operator. Assuming also regularity of the variance, the fluctuation of the random eigenvalues around their mean are shown to obey a multivari…
We construct a random Schrodinger operator on a subset of the hexagonal lattice and study its smallest positive eigenvalues. Using an asymptotic mapping, we relate them to the partition function of the directed polymer model on the square lattice. For a specific choice of the edge weight distribution, we obtain a model known as the log-Gamma polymer, which is integrable. Recent results about the fluctuations of free energy for the log-Gamma polymer allow us to prove Tracy-Widom type fluctuations for the smallest eigenvalue of the random Schrodinger operator. We also relate the distribution of …

Consider the partition function of a directed polymer in an IID field. We assume that both tails of the negative and the positive part of the field are at least as light as exponential. It is a well-known fact that the free energy of the polymer is equal to a deterministic constant for almost every realization of the field and that the upper tail of the large deviations is exponential. The lower tail of the large deviations is typically lighter than exponential. In this paper we provide a method to obtain estimates on the rate of decay of the lower tail of the large deviations, which are sharp…
We investigate the behavior near zero of the integrated density of states $\ell$ for random Schrödinger operators $Φ(-Δ) + V^ω$ in $L^2(\mathbb R^d)$, $d \geq 1$, where $Φ$ is a complete Bernstein function such that for some $α\in (0,2]$, one has $ Φ(λ) \asymp λ^{α/2}$, $λ\searrow 0$, and $V^ω(x) = \sum_{ \mathbf{i}\in \mathbb{Z}^d} q_{\mathbf{i}}(ω) W(x-\mathbf{i})$ is a random nonnegative alloy-type potential with compactly supported single site potential $W$. We prove that there are constants $C, \widetilde C,D, \widetilde D>0$ such that $$ -C \leq\liminf_{λ\searrow 0} \frac{λ^{d/α}}{|\log …
We define the Anderson hamiltonian on the two dimensional torus $\mathbb R^2/\mathbb Z^2$. This operator is formally defined as $\mathscr H:= -Δ+ ξ$ where $Δ$ is the Laplacian operator and where $ξ$ belongs to a general class of singular potential which includes the Gaussian white noise distribution. We use the notion of paracontrolled distribution as introduced by Gubinelli, Imkeller and Perkowski in [14]. We are able to define the Schrödinger operator $\mathscr H$ as an unbounded self-adjoint operator on $L^2(\mathbb T^2)$ and we prove that its real spectrum is discrete with no accumulation …
