This article describes calculations of the yield ratio of anti-particles to the yield of particles ($\bar{p}/p$, $\bar{d}/d$,$\overline{^{3}\mathrm{He}}$/$^{3}$He) in proton-proton and nuclear-nuclear interactions using the self-similarity parameter in the central rapidity region. The used approach is based on the study of relativistic nuclear interactions in the four-velocity space. The results of the calculations are compared with the existing experimental data in a wide center-of-mass energy range ($SPS$, $RHIC$, $LHC$). Within this approach the inclusive spectra of pions and kaons and ratios of their yields in $pp$ collisions have been successfully described earlier.
Nuclei are nearly transparent to each other when they collide at high energy, but the collisions do produce high energy density matter in the central rapidity region where most experimental measurements are made. What happens to the receding nuclear fireballs? We calculate the energy loss of the nuclei using the color glass condensate model. We then use a simple space-time picture of the collision to calculate the baryon and energy densities of the receding fireballs. For central collisions of large nuclei at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and the CERN Large Hadron Collider we find ba…
In very high energy collisions nuclei are practically transparent to each other but produce very hot, nearly baryon-free, matter in the so-called central rapidity region. The energy in the central rapidity region comes from the kinetic energy of the colliding nuclei. We calculate the energy and rapidity loss of the nuclei using the color glass condensate model. This model also predicts the excitation energy of the nuclear fragments. Using a space-time picture of the collision we calculate the baryon and energy densities of the receding baryonic fireballs. For central collisions of gold nuclei …
A data-driven idea is presented to test if light nuclei and hypernuclei obey the coalescence-inspired sum rule, i.e., to test if the flow of a light nucleus or hypernucleus is the summed flow of each of its constituents. Here, the mass difference and charge difference among the constituents of light nuclei and hypernuclei are treated appropriately. The idea is applied to the available data for $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 3$ GeV fixed-target Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), published by the STAR collaboration. It is found that the sum rule for light nuclei is approximately v…
The longitudinal asymmetry arises in relativistic heavy ion collisions due to fluctuation in the number of participating nucleons. This asymmetry causes a shift in the center of mass rapidity of the participant zone. The rapidity shift as well as the longitudinal asymmetry have been found to be significant at the top LHC energy for collisions of identical nuclei. We study the longitudinal asymmetry and its effect on charged particle rapidity distribution and anisotropic flow parameters at relatively lower RHIC energies using a model calculation. The rapidity shift is found to be more pronounce…
The rapidity dependence of the initial energy density in heavy-ion collisions is calculated from a three-dimensional McLerran-Venugopalan model (3dMVn) introduced by Lam and Mahlon. This model is infrared safe since global color neutrality is enforced. In this non-boost-invariant framework, the nuclei have non-zero thickness in the longitudinal direction. This results in Bjorken-x dependent unintegrated gluon distribution functions which lead to a rapidity-dependent initial energy density after the collision. The initial energy density and its rapidity dependence are important initial conditio…
In collisions of identical nuclei at a given impact parameter, the number of nucleons participating in the overlap region of each nucleus can be unequal due to nuclear density fluctuations. The asymmetry due to the unequal number of participating nucleons, referred to as longitudinal asymmetry, causes a shift in the center of mass rapidity of the participant zone. The information of the event asymmetry allows us to isolate and study the effect of longitudinal asymmetry on rapidity distribution of final state particles. In a Monte Carlo Glauber model the average rapidity-shift is found to be al…
We have carried out a wide study of shadowing and antishadowing effects on \jpsi\ production in \dAu\ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV. We have studied the effects of three different gluon nPDF sets, using the exact kinematics for a $2\to 2$ process, namely $g+g\to J/ψ+g$ as expected from LO pQCD. We have computed the rapidity dependence of \RCP\ and $R_{d\rm Au}$ for the different centrality classes of the PHENIX data. For mid rapidities, we have also computed the transverse-momentum dependence of the nuclear modification factor, which cannot be predicted with the usual $2\to 1$ simplifi…
The rapidity distribution of gluons produced in heavy ion collisions is studied by a numerical computation in 2+1-dimensional classical Yang-Mills theory. By assuming that the classical source strength g^2 mu depends on rapidity as g^4 mu^2 ~ exp(+- lambda y) and studying collisions of two nuclei with different g^2 mu we find that the rapidity distribution of produced gluons at central rapidities is very broad. The transverse energy is seen to decrease even more slowly as a function of y than the multiplicity. We discuss these results and the range in y and sqrt(s) where they are applicable in…
Using the coalescence model based on the phase-space distributions of protons, neutrons, Lambdas and their antiparticles from a multiphase transport (AMPT) model, we study the production of deuteron, triton, helium 3, hypertriton, hyperhelium 3 and their antinuclei in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV. The resulting transverse momentum spectra, elliptic flows and coalescence parameters for these nuclei are presented and compared with available experimental data. We also show the constituent number scaled elliptic flows of these nuclei and discuss their implications.

In these proceedings, we present the measurements of centrality, transverse momentum and rapidity dependences of proton ($p$) and light nuclei ($d$ ($\overline{d}$), $t$, $^{3}\mathrm{He}$ ($\overline{^{3}\mathrm{He}}$), and $^{4}\mathrm{He}$) production in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 3 GeV, and isobaric (Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr) collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 200 GeV. The compound yield ratios in central collisions at 3 GeV are found to be larger than the transport model calculations. Furthermore, the kinetic freeze-out parameters at 3 GeV show a different trend compared …
We consider production of prompt photons in high energy gold-gold and deuteron-gold collisions in the forward rapidity region of RHIC ($y \sim 3.8$). In this kinematics, the projectile partons typically have large $x_{bj}$ while the target partons are mostly at very small $x_{bj}$ so that the primary partonic collisions involve valence quarks from the projectile and gluons from the target. We take the target nucleus to be a Color Glass Condensate while the projectile deuteron or nucleus is treated as a dilute system of partons. We show that the photon production cross section can be written as…
The production of light (anti)nuclei have been investigated using the dynamically constrained phase-space coalescence model based on the final-state hadrons generated by the PACIAE model in Cu+Cu collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=200$GeV with $|η|<0.5$ and $0<p_T<8$GeV/c. The results show that there is a strong centrality dependence of yields of $\rm d$, $\rm\overline d$, $\rm ^3He$, $\rm^3\overline {He}$, $\rm ^4He$, and $\rm^4\overline {He}$, i.e., their yields decrease rapidly with the increase of centrality, and the greater the mass is, the greater the dependence shows; whereas their ratio…
The amount of proton stopping in central Pb+Pb collisions from 20-160 AGeV as well as hyperon and antihyperon rapidity distributions are calculated within the UrQMD model in comparison to experimental data at 40, 80 and 160 AGeV taken recently from the NA49 collaboration. Furthermore, the amount of baryon stopping at 160 AGeV for Pb+Pb collisions is studied as a function of centrality in comparison to the NA49 data. We find that the strange baryon yield is reasonably described for central collisions, however, the rapidity distributions are somewhat more narrow than the data. Moreover, the expe…
We investigate charmonium production in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC beam energy $E_{\text {lab}}$=2.76 A TeV at fixed-target experiment ($\sqrt {s_{\text{NN}}}$=72 GeV). In the frame of a transport approach including cold and hot nuclear matter effects on charmonium evolution, we focus on the anti-shadowing effect on the nuclear modification factors $R_{AA}$ and $r_{AA}$ for the $J/ψ$ yield and transverse momentum. The yield is more suppressed at less forward rapidity ($y_\text{lab}\simeq$2) than that at very forward rapidity ($y_\text{lab}\simeq$4) due to the shadowing and anti-shadowing in diffe…
The rapidity dependent directed flow of particles produced in a relativistic heavy ion collision can be generated in the hydrodynamic expansion of a tilted source. The asymmetry of the pressure leads to a build up of a directed flow of matter with respect to the collision axis. The experimentally observed ordering of the directed flow of baryons, pions and antibaryons can be described as resulting from the expansion of a baryon inhomogeneous fireball. An uneven distribution of baryons in the transverse plane leads to an asymmetry in the collective push for protons and antiprotons. Precise meas…
The present thesis deals with the theoretical study of multi-fragmentation and its related phenomena's like directed transverse flow, rapidity distribution, elliptical flow and nuclear stopping in intermediate energy heavy-ion collisions for asymmetric colliding nuclei. We aim to discuss the role of Coulomb interactions, nuclear equations of state (NEOS) and various rapidity bins by taking mass asymmetry into account.
The revised (three-source) Landau hydrodynamic model is used in this paper to study the (pseudo)rapidity distributions of charged particles produced in proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions at high energies. The central source is assumed to contribute with a Gaussian function which covers the rapidity distribution region as wide as possible. The target and projectile sources are assumed to emit isotropically particles in their respective rest frames. The model calculations obtained with a Monte Carlo method are fitted to the experimental data over an energy range from 0.2 to 13 TeV. T…
In this work we study the pseudorapidity spectra o charged particles produced in proton+proton and proton+antiproton interactions in a wide energy range using the non-extensive Tsallis approach. We evaluate the inelasticity coefficients of the discussed reactions which remain approximately independent of the collision energy.
The photon-photon interaction in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collision is a source of the $(e^+,e^-)$ pairs. The photon-photon fusion leads the lepton creation in the broad configuration space around "collision" point. Those created close to heavy nuclei may undergo strong interaction with them. The impact parameter space distribution of electrons and positrons are calculated within the b-space EPA model of such collisions. The evolution due to the electromagnetic interaction of $(e^+,e^-)$ with nuclei is studied, and the distortion of rapidity and transverse momentum distributions are shown.…
The cross sections for a variety of diffractive processes in proton-nucleus scattering, associated with large gaps in rapidity, are calculated within an improved Glauber-Gribov theory, where the inelastic shadowing corrections are summed to all orders by employing the dipole representation. The effects of nucleon correlations, leading to a modification of the nuclear thickness function, are also taken into account. Numerical calculations are performed for the energies of the HERA-B experiment, and the RHIC and LHC colliders, and for several nuclei. It is found that whereas the Gribov correctio…
The rapidity and transverse momentum spectra for identified hadrons in central Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}= 200$ GeV are computed in a quark combination model. The data of rapidity distributions for $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $p(\bar{p})$ and net protons $(p-\bar{p})$ are well described. We also predict rapidity distributions for $K^{0}_{s}$, $Λ(\barΛ)$, $\mathrm{Ξ^{-}}$ ($\mathrm{\barΞ^{_+}}$) and $\mathrm{Ω^{-}}+\mathrm{\barΩ}^{_+}$. The multiplicity ratios of charged antihadrons to hadrons as a function of rapidity are reproduced. The results for ${p}_{T}$ spectra of $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$,…
Using the multiphase transport (AMPT) model, we study the relative neutron density fluctuation and neutron-proton correlation in matter produced by Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}} = $7.7-200 GeV. The rapidity, centrality, and energy dependence of these two observations are also discussed. The light nuclei yield ratio of proton, deuteron, and triton $N_tN_p/N_d^2$ calculated directly from the relative neutron density fluctuation and neutron-proton correlation, decreases with rapidity coverage and increases with collision centrality. Our study also found that the ratio does not exhibit a…
In high energy heavy-ion collisions, the two colliding nuclei pass through each other leaving behind an almost baryon free central rapidity region. Most of the baryons are carried away by the nuclear remnants and are located in the so-called fragmentation regions. In previous papers \cite{Li:2016wzh,Li:2018ini}, it has been argued that very high baryon densities, more than ten times larger than the normal nuclear density, can be achieved in these fragmentation regions. In this paper, we assume the high baryon density matter is thermalized at the same time as the baryon-free quark-gluon plasma …
Within A Multi-Phase Transport model, we investigate decorrelation of event planes over pseudorapidity and its effect on azimuthal anisotropy measurements in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The decorrelation increases with increasing η gap between particles used to reconstruct the event planes. The third harmonic event planes are found even anticorrelated between forward and backward rapidities, the source of which may root in the opposite orientation of the collision geometry triangularities. The decorrelation may call into question the anisotropic flow measurements with pseudorapidity gap…
We study nuclear reactions induced by virtual photons associated with Lorentz-boosted Coulomb fields of ultrarelativistic heavy ions. Evaporation, fission and multifragmentation mechanisms are included in a new RELDIS code, which describes the deexcitation of residual nuclei formed after single and double photon absorption in peripheral heavy-ion collisions. Partial cross sections for different dissociation channels, including the multiple neutron emission ones, are calculated and compared with data when available. Rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of nucleons, nuclear fragments a…
This report summarizes our understanding of antikaon-nucleon interactions and reviews the present theoretical situation in the quest for quasibound antikaon-nuclear systems.
From the analysis of light (anti)nuclei multiplicities that were measured recently by the ALICE collaboration in Pb+Pb collisions at the center-of-mass collision energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}} =2.76$ TeV there arose a highly non-trivial question about the excluded volume of composite particles. Surprisingly, the hadron resonance gas model (HRGM) is able to perfectly describe the light (anti)nuclei multiplicities under various assumptions. Thus, one can consider the (anti)nuclei with a vanishing hard-core radius (as the point-like particles) or with the hard-core radius of proton, but the fit quality is…
Analytical study of the rapidity distribution of the final state particles in deep inelastic scattering at small x is presented. We separate and analyse three sources of particle production: fragmentation of the quark-antiquark pair, accompanying coherent soft gluon radiation due to octet color exchange in the t-channel, and fragmentation of gluons that form parton distribution functions. Connection to Catani-Ciafaloni-Fiorani-Marchesini (CCFM) equations and the role of gluon reggezation are also discussed.
Studying antiproton scattering by nuclei (atoms) in the range of low energies, we found out that the increase in the antiproton-nucleus scattering amplitude through Coulomb interaction provides the possibility to investigate spin-dependent processes accompanying the interaction of antiprotons with nuclei (polarized or unpolarized) by means of mirror reflection of antiprotons from the vacuum-matter boundary, diffraction and channeling (surface diffraction and channeling) of antiprotons in crystals.
We have used the dynamically constrained phase space coalescence model to investigate the centrality dependence of light (anti)nuclei and (anti)hypertriton production based on the $6.2\times 10^7$ hadronic final states generated by the PACIAE model in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=200$ GeV in $|y| <1$ and $p_T<5$ acceptances. It turned out that the yields of light (anti)nuclei and (anti)hypertriton strongly depend on the centrality, i.e. their yields decrease rapidly with the increase of centrality bins; but their yield ratios are independent on centrality. These theoretical results …
A novel nuclear effect on the flavour asymmetry of anti-quarks in the nucleon bound in a nucleus is discussed in terms of the meson cloud model and the Pauli exclusion principle. It is expected that the flavour asymmetry is enhanced in a nucleus.
We present the analysis of experimental data on forward antiproton production on nuclei. The calculations are done in the framework of a folding model which takes properly into account both incoherent direct proton-nucleon and cascade pion-nucleon antiproton production processes as well as internal nucleon momentum distribution. The effective antiproton-nucleon cross section in nuclear matter and the imaginary part of the antiproton nuclear optical potential are estimated to be 25-45 mb and -(38-56) MeV at normal nuclear matter density, respectively. The results of the performed analysis evide…
We use the parton and hadron cascade (PACIAE) model and the dynamically constrained phase-space coalescence (DCPC) model to investigate the productions of (anti)hypertriton and light (anti)nuclei generated by 0-10% centrality $^{12}$C+$^{12}$C, $^{24}$Mg+$^{24}$Mg, $^{40}$Ca+$^{40}$Ca, and $^{64}$Cu+$^{64}$Cu collisions at $\sqrt{S_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV with $|y|$ $<$ 1.5 and $p_{T}$ $<$ 5. We study the yield ratios of the antiparticle to particle and the rapidity distributions of the different (anti)nuclei. We find that the amounts of antimatter produced are significantly lower than that of the co…
We compare data of antineutron and antiproton annihilation cross sections on different targets at very low energies. After subtracting Coulomb effects, we observe that the ratio between the antineutron proton and antiproton proton annihilation cross sections is an oscillating function of the energy at momenta smaller 300 MeV/c. This nontrivial behavior is confirmed by the analysis of the relative number of antiproton-neutron and antiproton-proton annihilations in nuclei. We show that a part of the strong shadowing phenomena in antiproton-nucleus annihilations can be explained in terms of this …
Using a multiphase transport model (AMPT), which includes both initial partonic and final hadronic interactions, we study the rapidity distributions of charged particles such as protons, antiprotons, pions, and kaons in heavy ion collisions at RHIC. The theoretical results for the total charged particle multiplicity at midrapidity are consistent with those measured by the PHOBOS collaboration in central Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt s$ = 56 and 130 AGeV. We find that these hadronic observables are much more sensitive to the hadronic interactions than the partonic interactions.
A broad extension of periodic system into the sector of antimatter could be possible sometimes in a remote future. We expect that anti-alpha spontaneous emission from an antimatter nucleus will have the same Q-value and half-life as alpha emission from the corresponding mirror nucleus. This is the consequence of the invariance of binding energy as well as of the surface and Coulomb energy when passing from matter to antimatter nuclei with the the same mass number and the same atomic number. The Q-values and half-lives of all measured up to now 27 cluster radioactivities are given together with…
We present recent progress on the properties of antikaons in nuclei and dense nuclear matter as obtained from two {\bar K}N interaction models: one based on the lowest-order meson-baryon chiral lagrangian and the other derived from a meson-exchange picture.
We calculate, in a systematic way, the enhancement effect on antiproton-proton and antiproton-nucleus annihilation cross sections at low energy due to the initial state electrostatic interaction between the projectile and the target nucleus. This calculation is aimed at future comparisons between antineutron and antiproton annihilation rates on different targets, for the extraction of pure isospin channels.
Creations of light anti-nuclei (anti-deuterium, anti-tritium, anti-He3 and anti-He4) are observed by collaborations at the LHC and RHIC accelerators. Some cosmic ray experiments are aimed to find the anti-nuclei in cosmic rays. To support the experimental studies of the anti-nuclei a Monte Carlo simulation of anti-nuclei interactions with matter is implemented in the Geant4 toolkit. The implementation combines practically all known theoretical approaches to the problem of antinucleon-nucleon interactions.
We present, using the statistical model, an analysis of the production of light nuclei, hypernuclei and their antiparticles in central collisions of heavy nuclei. Based on these studies we provide predictions for the production yields of multiply-strange light nuclei.
We present the scaling properties of mass number of light (anti)nuclei production in midrapidity Au + Au collisions at $\sqrt {s_{NN}}=200$ GeV based on the PACIAE + DCPC model. It is found that the integrated yield of light (anti)nuclei decreased exponentially with the increase of mass numbers which depends on the centrality, this properties of the system can be described quantitatively by temperature $T$ at hadronic freeze-out, and the model results are consistent with STAR data. Furthermore, we found that the integrated yield of heavier (anti)nuclei per participant nucleon increases from pe…
In high energy collisions nuclei are practically transparent to each other but produce very hot, nearly baryon-free, matter in the central rapidity region. Where do the baryons go? We calculate the energy loss of the nuclei using the color glass condensate model. Using a space-time picture of the collision we calculate the baryon and energy densities of the receding baryonic fireballs. For central collisions of large nuclei at RHIC and LHC we find baryon densities more than ten times that of atomic nuclei over a large volume which appear at high rapidities. These results can and are being used…
We investigate the properties of light (anti)nuclei and (anti)hypertriton production in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=2.76$ TeV, based on the parton and hadron cascade and dynamically constrained phase-space coalescence (PACIAE + DCPC) model. We found that the yields of light (anti)nuclei and (anti)hypertriton strongly depend on the centrality, i.e., their yields decrease rapidly with the increase of centrality bins, but their yield ratios are independent of centrality. The results of theoretical model are well consistent with ALICE data. Furthermore, we found that the integrated yie…
We briefly outline the models of the $n\bar{n}$ transition in nuclei and analyse a well known calculation based on diagram technique published in 1992 and repeated recently by V. Kopeliovich and I. Potashnikova.
We briefly outline the present state of the $n\bar{n}$ transition problem and analyse the recent manuscript of the Vladimir Kopeliovich (arXiv: 0912.5065).
We calculate isolated photon production at forward rapidities in proton-nucleus collisions in the Color Glass Condensate framework. Our calculation uses dipole cross sections solved from the running coupling Balitsky-Kovchegov equation with an initial condition fit to deep inelastic scattering data and extended to nuclei with an optical Glauber procedure that introduces no additional parameters beyond the basic nuclear geometry. We present predictions for future forward RHIC and LHC measurements. The predictions are also compared to updated results for the nuclear modification factors for pion…
We consider the implications of the Color Glass Condensate for the central region of p+A collisions. We compute the k_t distribution of radiated gluons and their rapidity distribution dN/dy analytically, both in the perturbative regime and in the region between the two saturation momenta. We find an analytic expression for the number of produced gluons which is valid when the saturation momentum of the proton is much less than that of the nucleus. We discuss the scaling of the produced multiplicity with A. We show that the slope of the rapidity density dN/dy provides an experimental measure fo…
With the kinetic freeze-out nucleons and antinucleons obtained from the quark combination model, we study the production of light nuclei and antinuclei in the (anti-)nucleon coalescence mechanism in relativistic heavy ion collisions. We derive analytic formulas of the momentum distributions of different light nuclei and apply them to compute transverse momentum ($p_T$) spectra of (anti-)deuterons ($d$, $\bar d$) and (anti-)tritons ($t$, $\bar t$) in Au-Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=$7.7, 11.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 54.4 GeV. We find that the experimental data available for these $p_T$ spectra can be…
