In this work we study the pseudorapidity spectra o charged particles produced in proton+proton and proton+antiproton interactions in a wide energy range using the non-extensive Tsallis approach. We evaluate the inelasticity coefficients of the discussed reactions which remain approximately independent of the collision energy.
We provide description of rapidity spectra of particles produced in p-anti-p collisions using anomalous diffusion approach to account for their non-equilibrium character. In particular, we exhibit connection between multiproduction processes and anomalous diffusion described through the nonlinear Focker-Planck equation with nonlinearity given by the nonextensivity parameter q describing the underlying Tsallis q-statistics and demonstrate how it leads to the Feynman scaling violation in these collisions. The q parameter obtained this way turns out to be closely connected to parameter 1/k conver…
The pseudorapidity measurements at LHC, although in the central region only, allows to perform preliminary tests of the multiparticle production extrapolation formula inspired by the recent cosmic ray data analysis. Feynman scaling violation in the form proposed originally by Wdowczyk and Wolfendale in 70s has been applied to the Pierre Auger Observatory and the Hi-Res group measurements. The consistency of the Extensive Air Shower development and anisotropy data was found for smoothly rise of the scaling violation parameter. We have shown that the longitudinal momenta of produced particles de…
We formulate empirically the rapidity density distribution of produced particles in multiple particle production. The assumed mechanism is that the produced particles are emitted isotropically from several emitting centers, located on the rapidity axis. The formula includes five adjustable parameters, which are to be determined by the experimental data of (pseudo-)rapidity density distributions and transverse momentum distributions at various energies. It is a distinguished difference of the present rapidity density distribution from those of other models that the particle production is suppre…
A 2-stage hybrid model is proposed that joins the fast initial state of interaction, described by the hadron string dynamics (HSD) model, to subsequent evolution of the expanding system at the second stage, treated within ideal hydrodynamics. The developed hybrid model is assigned to describe heavy-ion collisions in the energy range of the NICA collider under construction in Dubna. Generally, the model is in reasonable agreement with the available data on proton rapidity spectra. However, reproducing proton rapidity spectra, our hybrid model cannot describe the rapidity distributions of pions.…
Net-baryon rapidity distributions in central Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV per nucleon are shown to consist of three components. The nonequilibrium contributions are accounted for in a Relativistic Diffusion Model. Near midrapidity, a third fraction containing approximately 22 protons reaches local statistical equilibrium in a discontinuous transition. It may be associated with a deconfinement of the participant partons and thus, serve as a signature for Quark-Gluon Matter formation.
An extension of the single-freeze-out model with thermal and geometric parameters dependent on the spatial rapidity, $α_\parallel$, is used to describe the rapidity and transverse-momentum spectra of pions, kaons, protons, and antiprotons measured at RHIC at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200 {\rm GeV}$ by the BRAHMS collaboration. {\tt THERMINATOR} is used to perform the necessary simulation, which includes all resonance decays. The result of the fit to the rapidity spectra in the range of the BRAHMS data is the expected growth of the baryon and strange chemical potentials with the magnitude of $α_\parallel$…
In contrast to the recent prediction of high $p_T$ hadron suppression within the parton saturation model, it is shown that multiple parton scattering suffered by the projectile will enhance high $p_T$ hadron spectra in $d+A$ collisions relative to a superposition of binary $p+p$ collisions at RHIC. A stronger enhancement in the forward rapidity region of the projectile is also predicted, resulting in a unique rapidity asymmetry of the hadron spectra at high $p_T$. The shape of the rapidity asymmetry should be reversed for low $p_T$ hadrons that are dominated by soft and coherent interactions w…
There is experimental and theoretical evidence that the broad rapidity distribution of net proton yield in central heavy-ion collisions at SPS energies could be a signal of non-equilibrium properties of the system. We show that the broad rapidity shape can be well reproduced in the framework of a non-linear relativistic Fokker-Planck dynamics which incorporates non-extensive statistics and anomalous diffusion.
We show that the remaining internal longitudinal flow of colliding quarks in nuclei offers a natural explanation for the diversity of rapidity spectral shapes observed in Pb--Pb 158AGeV nuclear collisions. Thus QGP sudden hadronization reaction picture is a suitable approach to explain the rapidity spectra of hadrons produced.
A new iteration method is proposed for analyzing both the multiplicities and the transverse momentum spectra measured only within a small rapidity interval and with low momentum limit without any inconsistency or ad hoc assumptions and applied to the hadron data by the ALICE collaboration in Pb+Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV/A. In order to correctly consider the resonance contribution only to the small rapidity interval, ratios involving only those hadrons whose transverse momentum spectrum is available are considered. In spite of the small number of ratios considered, the fittings of both the rati…
We argue that large fluctuations in the saturation momentum are necessary to explain the ATLAS and ALICE data on pA collisions measured at the LHC. Using a form for the distribution of fluctuations motivated by theoretical studies of the non-linear evolution equations for the Color Glass Condensate, we find a remarkably good agreement between theory and the measured distributions. If the saturation momentum fluctuates, we argue that the cross section for a proton probe should also fluctuate, consistent with previous observations. Finally we discuss these results and their possible consistency …
We analyze longitudinal pion spectra from \sqrt{s_{NN}}= 2 GeV to \sqrt {s_{\rm NN}}=20 GeV within Landau's hydrodynamical model and the UrQMD hybrid approach. From the measured data on the widths of the pion rapidity spectra, we extract the sound velocity c_s^2 in the dense stage of the reactions. It is found that the sound velocity has a local minimum (indicating a softest point in the equation of state, EoS) at \sqrt{s_{NN}}= 4-9 GeV, an energy range accessible at the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) as well as the RHIC-Beam Energy Scan (RHIC-BES). This softening of the EoS i…
Within a quark combination model, we study systematically the yields and rapidity spectra of various hadrons in central Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}= 200$ GeV. We find that considering the difference in rapidity between net-quarks and newborn quarks, the data of multiplicities, rapidity distributions for $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $p(\bar{p})$ and, in particular the ratios of charged antihadron to hadron as a function of rapidity, can be well described. The effect of net-quarks on various hadrons is analysed, and the rapidity distributions for $K^{0}_{s}$, $Λ(\barΛ)$, $Σ^{+}(\barΣ^{_-})$, $\m…
We use the extended statistical thermal model to describe various hadron rapidity spectra at the highest RHIC energy (200 GeV/A). The model assumes the formation of hot and dense regions moving along the beam axis with increasing rapidities, yFB. It has been earlier shown that this model can explain the net proton flow i.e. p minus pbar, ratio pbar/p and the pion rapidity spectra. In this paper we have attempted to show that in addition to these quantities, this model can also successfully describe the individual rapidity spectra of protons, antiprotons, Kaons, antiKaons, pions, the ratios lam…
The rapidity distribution of thermal photons produced in Pb+Pb collisions at CERN-SPS energies is calculated within scaling and three-fluid hydrodynamics. It is shown that these scenarios lead to very different rapidity spectra. A measurement of the rapidity dependence of photon radiation can give cleaner insight into the reaction dynamics than pion spectra, especially into the rapidity dependence of the temperature.
The rapidity dependent transverse momentum spectra of heavy quarkonia (J/psi and Upsilon mesons) produced in small collision systems such as proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at center-of-mass energy (per nucleon pair) 5-13 TeV are described by a two-component statistical model which is based on the Tsallis statistics and inverse power-law. The experimental data measured by the LHCb Collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are well fitted by the model results. The related parameters are obtained and the dependences of parameters on rapidity are analyzed.
The centrality dependence of rapidity distributions of pions in Pb+Pb reactions can be understood by imposing local energy-momentum conservation in the longitudinal "fire-streaks" of excited matter. With no tuning nor adjustment to the experimental data, the rapidity distribution of pions produced by the fire-streak which we obtained from Pb+Pb collisions reproduces the shape of the experimental pion rapidity distribution in p+p interactions, measured by the NA49 Collaboration at the same energy. The observed difference in the absolute normalization of this distribution can be explained by the…
The calculation of inclusive spectra of pions produced in $pp$ and $AA$ collisions as a function of rapidity $y$ is presented within the self-similarity approach. It is shown that at not large rapidities $y$ one can obtain the analytical form of the self-similarity function $Π(y,p_t)$ dependent of $y$ and hadron transverse momentum $p_t$. A satisfactory description of data on the rapidity spectra at $|y|\leq$ 0.3 is illustrated within a good agreement. The universal energy dependence of these spectra is also shown.
In AA collisions fusion and percolation of colour strings is studied at fixed rapidity $y$. Distribution of strings in rapidity is obtained from the observed rapidity spectra in pp collisions. For $y$-dependence of multiplicities in Au-Au collisions good agreement is obtained with the existing experimental data. Predictions for LHC energies coincide with the extrapolation of the data. Agreement with the data of the transverse momentum spectra requires introduction of quenching into the model.
The quark combination mechanism of hadron production is applied to nucleus-nucleus collisions at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) and BNL Alternating Gradient Synchrotron (AGS). The rapidity spectra of identified hadrons and their spectrum widths are studied. The data of $π^{-}$, $K^{\pm}$, $ϕ$, $Λ$, $\barΛ$, $Ξ^{-}$, and $\barΞ^{+}$ at 80 and 40 AGeV, in particular at 30 and 20 AGeV where the onset of deconfinement is suggested to happen, are consistently described by the quark combination model. However at AGS 11.6 AGeV below the onset the spectra of $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$ and $Λ$ can n…
This study aims at understanding the nature of measured data on the rapidity spectra of some heavy baryons [$Λ$, $Λ$bar, $Ξ^-$ & $Ξ$bar$^+$] produced in the nuclear collisions at some modestly high energies. Furthermore, our objective is also to build up a comprehensive and consistent methodology to analyze the data on this specific observable which has a very important place in the domain of High Energy Physics (HEP). On an overall basis, our target here attains a moderate degree of success even for production of such rare secondaries. In addition to this, the limitations of such an approach …
On the basis of the Grand Combinational Model (GCM) outlined and somewhat detailed in the text, we have attempted to capture here the several interesting assorted characteristics of the rapidity-spectra of the major varieties of secondaries produced in diverse nuclear reactions at various energies, though the main thrust of our work lies on addressing the data-trends from RHIC-BNL experiments. Obviously the core of the present approach is purely phenomenological. Still, the method and the model address the features of the data modestly well. And the method appears to have the rich potentiality…
Rapidity-dependent transverse momentum spectra of negatively charged pions measured at different rapidities in proton-proton collisions at the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) at various energies within its Beam Energy Scan (BES) program are investigated by using one- and two-component standard distributions where the chemical potential and spin property of particles are implemented. The rapidity spectra are described by a double-Gaussian distribution. At the stage of kinetic freeze-out, the event patterns are structured by the scatter plots in the three-dimensional subspaces of velocity, moment…
We present a phenomenological approach (EPOS), based on the parton model, but going much beyond, and try to understand proton-proton and deuteron-gold collisions, in particular the transverse momentum results from all the four RHIC experiments. It turns out that elastic and inelastic parton ladder splitting is the key issue. Elastic splitting is in fact related to screening and saturation, but much more important is the inelastic contribution, being crucial to understand the data. We investigate in detail the rapidity dependence of nuclear effects, which is actually relatively weak in the mode…
We study the mass dependent hierarchy of kinetic freeze-out parameters of hadrons in low energy heavy-ion collisions. For this purpose, the transverse momentum and rapidity spectra of the identified hadrons produced in central Pb+Pb collisions, available at SPS energies ranging from $\rm E_{Lab}=20A-158A $ GeV, are analyzed within a generalized non boost-invariant blast wave model. We consider separate simultaneous fits for light hadrons ($π^{-}$, $K^{\pm}$) and heavy strange hadrons ($Λ$, $\barΛ$, $ϕ$, $Ξ^{\pm}$, $Ω^{\pm}$), for which the transverse momentum spectra as well as rapidity spectr…
A model of multiparticle production in hadronic collisions at ultra-relativistic energies, based on the assumption of independent string fragmentation, reproduces the rapidity spectra of $Λ$ and $\barΛ$ in sulphur-sulphur collisions reported by the NA35 Collaboration. This is achieved after a reconsideration of the intermediate multi-string states and the structure of the diquarks. Nuclear stopping power is also studied through the computation of the $p-\bar{p}$ rapidity spectra.
The self-consistent approach based on similarity of inclusive spectra of hadrons produced in $pp$ and $AA$ collisions is reviewed. This approach allows us to describe rather well the ratio of proton to anti-proton yields in $AA$ collisions as a function of the initial energy at a wide range from a few GeV to a few TeV. We suggest its modification due to the quark-gluon dynamics to describe the inclusive spectra of hadrons produced in $pp$ collision as a function of the transverse momentum $p_t$ at mid-rapidity. The extension of this approach to analyze the pion $p_t$-spectra produced in $AA$ c…
We present predictions of single inclusive jet transverse momentum, energy, and Feynman-$x$ spectra at forward rapidity ($5.2 < y < 6.6$) in proton-proton collisions with $\sqrt{s} = 7$ and 13 TeV. Calculations based on high-energy factorization and $k_T$-dependent parton densities are compared to simulations using the \pythia\ event generator. Effects from parton density evolution, parton shower dynamics, multi-parton interactions, and saturation of parton densities are investigated.
The UrQMD transport model, version 3.4, is used to study the new experimental data on transverse momentum spectra of $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $p$ and $\bar p$ produced in inelastic $p+p$ interactions at SPS energies, recently published by the NA61/SHINE Collaboration. The comparison of model predictions to these new measurements is presented as a function of collision energy for central and forward particle rapidity intervals. In addition, the inverse slope parameters characterizing the transverse momentum distributions are extracted from the predicted spectra and compared to the corresponding va…
In a Relativistic Diffusion Model (RDM), the evolution of net-proton rapidity spectra with sqrt(s_NN) in heavy systems is proposed as an indicator for local equilibration and longitudinal expansion. The broad midrapidity valley recently discovered at RHIC in central Au + Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN)= 200 GeV suggests rapid local equilibration which is most likely due to deconfinement, and fast longitudinal expansion. Rapidity spectra of produced charged hadrons in d + Au and Au + Au systems at RHIC energies and their centrality dependence are well described in a three-sources RDM. In central co…
We have attempted to describe the rapidity and transverse momentum spectra, simultaneously, of the hadrons produced in the Ultra-relativistic Nuclear Collisions. This we have tried to achieve in a single statistical thermal freeze-out model using single set of parameters. We assume the formation of a hadronic gas in thermo-chemical equilibrium at the freeze-out. The model incorporates a longitudinal as well as a transverse hydrodynamic flow. We have also found that the role of heavier hadronic resonance decay is important in explaining the particle spectra.
The large and rapidly varying electric and magnetic fields induced by the spectator systems moving at ultrarelativistic velocities induce a charge splitting of directed flow, $v_1$, of positive and negative pions in the final state of the heavy ion collision. The same effect results in a very sizeable distortion of charged pion spectra as well as ratios of charged pions ($π^+/π^-$) emitted at high values of rapidity. Both phenomena are sensitive to the actual distance between the pion emission site and the spectator system. This distance $d_E$ appears to decrease with increasing rapidity of th…
I present the first isolation of azimuth quadrupole components from published $v_2(p_t)$ data (called elliptic flow) as spectra on transverse rapidity $y_t$ for identified pions, kaons and lambdas/protons from minimum-bias Au-Au collisions at 200 GeV. The form of the spectra on $y_t$ indicates that the three hadron species are emitted from a common boosted source with boost $Δy_{t0} \sim 0.6$. The quadrupole spectra have a Lévy form similar to the soft component of the single-particle spectrum, but with significantly reduced ($\sim 0.7\times$) slope parameters $T$. Comparison of quadrupole spe…
Rapidity and Energy Dependences of Temperatures and Volume Extracted from Identified Charged Hadron Spectra in Proton-Proton Collisions at a Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS)
The evolution of net-proton rapidity spectra with sqrt(s_NN) in heavy relativistic systems is proposed as an indicator for local equilibration and longitudinal expansion. In a Relativistic Diffusion Model, bell-shaped distributions in central collisions at AGS energies and double-humped nonequilibrium spectra at SPS show pronounced longitudinal collective expansion when compared to the available data. The broad midrapidity valley recently discovered at RHIC in central Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV indicates rapid local equilibration which is most likely due to deconfinement, and fas…
Transverse momentum ($p_T$) and rapidity ($y$) spectra of $Z$ bosons and quarkonium states (some charmonium $c\bar c$ mesons such as $J/ψ$ and $ψ(2S)$, and some bottomonium $b\bar b$ mesons such as $Υ(1S)$, $Υ(2S)$, and $Υ(3S)$) produced in proton-proton ($pp$) and lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions at the large hadron collider (LHC) are uniformly described by a hybrid model of two-component Erlang distribution for $p_T$ spectrum and two-component Gaussian distribution for $y$ spectrum. The former distribution results from a multisource thermal model, and the latter one results from the revised Land…
The entropy per rapidity $d S/d y$ produced in central Pb-Pb ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions at LHC energies is calculated using experimentally observed identified particle spectra and source radii estimated from Hanbury Brown-Twiss (HBT) for particles, $π$, $k$, $p$, $Λ$, $Ω$, and $\barΣ$, and $π$, $k$, $p$, $Λ$ and $K_s^0$ at $ \sqrt{s}$ $=2.76$ and $5.02$ TeV, respectively. Artificial neural network (ANN) simulation model is used to estimate the entropy per rapidity $d S/d y$ at the considered energies. The simulation results are compared with equivalent experimental data, and good ag…
A two-component model (TCM) for single-particle $p_t$ spectra describes 200 GeV p-p data accurately. Based on that TCM a spectrum hard component was isolated that is related quantitatively to pQCD predictions for jet fragmentation down to low jet energies ($\approx 3$ GeV). We here address jet-related structure in 2D trigger-associated (TA) correlations as a more-detailed method to explore the kinematic limits of low-energy jet production and low-momentum jet fragment structure in p-p collisions. We derive a TCM for p-p TA correlations that can be used to isolate 2D jet-related structure. Infe…
The shapes of invariant differential cross section for charged particle production as function of transverse momentum measured in pp collisions by the UA1 detector are analyzed. The spectra shape varies with the produced particle's pseudorapidity changing. To describe this and several other recently observed effects a simple qualitative model for hadroproduction mechanism was proposed.
A systematic analysis of transverse momentum and rapidity distributions measured in high-energy proton - proton (pp) collisions for energies ranging from 53 GeV to 7 TeV using Tsallis thermodynamics is presented. The excellent description of all transverse momentum spectra obtained in earlier analyses is confirmed and extended. All energies can be described by a single Tsallis temperature of 68 +/- 5 MeV at all beam energies and particle types investigated (43 in total). The value of the entropic index, q, shows a wider spread but is always close to q approx 1.146. These values are then used t…
In recent years the Tsallis statistics is gaining popularity in describing charged particle produc- tion and their properties, in particular pT spectra and the multiplicities in high energy particle collisions. Motivated by its success, an analysis of the LHC data of proton-proton collisions at ener- gies ranging from 0.9 TeV to 7 TeV in different rapidity windows for charged particle multiplicities has been done. A comparative analysis is performed in terms of the Tsallis distribution, the Gamma distribution and the shifted-Gamma distribution. An interesting observation on the inapplicability…
We present calculations of single inclusive jet transverse momentum and energy spectra at forward rapidity ($5.2\!<\!y\!<\!6.6$) in proton-lead collisions with $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV. The predictions are obtained with the KaTie Monte Carlo event generator, which allows to calculate interactions within the High Energy Factorisation framework. The tree-level matrix element results are subsequently interfaced with the CASCADE Monte Carlo event generator to account for hadronisation. The effects of the saturation of the gluon density, leading to suppression of the cross section, are investigat…
Based on statistical thermal approaches, the transverse momentum distribution of the well-identified produced particles, $π^+$, $π^-$, $K^+$, $K^-$, $p$, $\bar{p}$, is studied. From the partition function of grand-canonical ensemble, we propose a generic expression for the dependence of the full chemical potential $μ$ on rapidity $y$. Then, by fitting this expression with the experimental results of most central $p_{\perp}$ and $d^2 N/2 πp_{\bot} dp_{\bot} dy$, at $7.7$, $11.5$, $19.6$, $27$, $39$, $130$, $200~$GeV, we introduce a generic expression for the rapidity dependence of $μ$, at diffe…
Longitudinal hadron spectra from Proton-Proton (pp) and nucleus-nucleus (AA) collisions from $E_{lab}= 2$ AGeV to $\sqrt s=200$ AGeV are investigated. The widths of the rapidity spectra for various particle species increases monotonously with energy. The present calculation indicates no sign of a step like behaviour as excepted from the Kaon transverse mass systematics. For Pions, the transport simulation is consistent with a Landau type scaling of the rapidity widths, both in central AA reactions and in pp collisions. However, other hadron species do not follow the Landau scaling. The present…
We use the string melting version of a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model to study Cu+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV. The rapidity distributions of identified hadrons show asymmetric dependences on rapidity. In addition, elliptic and triangular flows at mid-rapidity from the AMPT model for pions, kaons, and protons agree reasonably with the experimental data up to $p_{T}\sim1$ GeV$/c$. We then investigate the forward/backward asymmetry of $v_2$ and $v_3$. We find that these anisotropic flows are larger on the Au-going side than the Cu-going side, while the asymmetry tends to go away …
We calculate pseudorapidity ($η$) asymmetry in $pA$ and $dA$ collisions in a pQCD-improved parton model. With the calculations tuned to describe existing spectra from $pp$ collisions and asymmetric systems at midrapidity and large rapidities at FNAL and RHIC energies, we investigate the roles of nuclear shadowing and multiple scattering on the observed asymmetry. Using this framework, we make predictions for pseudorapidity asymmetries at high $p_T$ and large $η$ in a wide range of energies up to LHC.
We present results for final state charged particle (pseudo-)rapidity distributions in $\rm{p}$ + $\bar{\rm{p}}$ / $\rm{p}$ + $\rm{p}$ and Pb+Pb/Au+Au at ultra high energies (17.3 GeV $\leq$ $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ $\leq$ 14 TeV) from the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD-v2.3) model. In addition, excitation functions of produced charged particle multiplicities ($N_{\rm{ch}}$) and pseudorapidity spectra are investigated up to LHC energies. Good agreement is observed between UrQMD and measured pseudorapidity distributions of charged particles up to the highest Tevatron and Sp$\b…
The mid-rapidity transverse momentum spectra of hadrons (p, p-bar, K+, K-, K0-short, phi, Λ, Λ-bar, Ξ,Ξ-bar, (Ξ + Ξ-bar), Ω, and Ω-bar) and the available rapidity distributions of the strange hadrons K0-short, (Λ + Λ-bar), (Ξ + Ξ-bar) produced in p-p collisions at LHC energy root(sNN) = 0.9 TeV have been studied using a Unified Statistical Thermal Freeze-out Model (USTFM). The calculated results are found to be in good agreement with the experimental data. The theoretical fits of the transverse momentum spectra using the model calculations provide the thermal freeze-out conditions in terms of …
The UrQMD transport model is used to study a system-size and energy dependence of the pion production in high energy collisions. New data of the NA61/SHINE Collaboration on spectra of negatively charged pions in proton-proton interactions at SPS energies are considered. These results are compared with the corresponding data of the NA49 Collaboration in central Pb+Pb collisions at the same collision energies per nucleon. Mean pion multiplicity per participant nucleon, inverse slope parameter of the transverse momentum spectra, and width of rapidity distribution are investigated. A role of isosp…
We used the blast wave model with Boltzmann Gibbs statistics and analyzed the experimental data measured by NA61/SHINE Collaboration in inelastic (INEL) proton-proton collisions at different rapidity slices at different center-of-mass energies. The particles used in this study are pion, kaon, proton and anti-proton. We extracted kinetic freeze-out temperature, transverse flow velocity and kinetic freeze-out volume from the transverse momentum spectra of the particles. We observed that the kinetic freeze-out temperature is rapidity and energy dependent, while transverse flow velocity does not d…
We attempt to describe the rapidity and transverse momentum spectra of strange as well as non-strange hadrons e.g. cascade, cascadebar, lambda , lambdabar, proton, protonbar,(omega+omegabar, Kaon, anti-Kaon and their ratios in the ultra-relativistic collisions of gold nuclei at (Root sNN)=200 GeV. This is done by using a statistical thermal freeze-out model which incorporates the rapidity (collision) axis as well as transverse direction boosts developed within an expanding hot and dense hadronic fluid (fireball) till the final freeze-out. We determine the thermo-chemical freeze-out conditions p…
With the help of a phenomenological approach outlined in the text in some detail, we have dealt here with the description of the plots on rapidity and pseudorapidity spectra of some hadron-secondaries produced in various nucleus-nucleus interactions at high energies. The agreement between the measured data and the attempted fits are, on the whole, modestly satisfactory excepting a very narrow central region in the vicinity of y=$η$=0. At last, hints to how the steps suggested in the main body of the text to proceed with the description of the measured data given in the plots could lead finally…
Experimental results of the rapidity spectra of protons and net-protons (protons minus antiprotons) emitted in gold-gold (Au-Au) and lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions, measured by a few collaborations at the alternating gradient synchrotron (AGS), super proton synchrotron (SPS), and relativistic heavy ion collider (RHIC), are described by a three-source distribution. The values of the distribution width $σ_C$ and contribution ratio (relative contribution) $k_C$ of the central rapidity region, and the distribution width $σ_F$ and rapidity shift $Δy$ of the forward/backward rapidity regions, are then…
Recently Beccattini and Cleymamns have proposed a model to understand the p-pbar data obtained at RHIC and SPS. We have shown that this model has a much greater applicability and can very well be used to describe the rapidity spectra of protons and antiprotons separately measured at the highest energy of Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider i.e., 200 GeV/A by BRAHMS Collaboration. We have also determined that the contribution of the decay products of the heavier resonances like delta, lambda etc. actually dominate over the protons (antiprotons) of pure thermal origin. We have also imposed the crite…
We evaluate the spectra of produced particles (pions, kaons, antiprotons) from partonic cascades which may develop in the wake of heavy-ion collisions at CERN SPS energies and which may hadronize by formation of clusters which decay into hadrons. Using the experimental data obtained by NA35 and NA44 collaborations for S+S and Pb+Pb collisions, we conclude that the Monte Carlo implementation of the recently developed parton-cascade/cluster-hadronization model provides a reasonable description of the distributions of the particles produced in such collisions. While the rapidity distribution of t…
Recently, we proposed a thermodynamically consistent excluded-volume model for the HG fireball and we noticed that our model gives a suitable description for various properties of multiparticle production and their ratios in the entire range of temperatures and baryon densities. The aim in this paper is to obtain the variations of freeze-out volume in a slice of unit rapidity i.e. $dV/dy$ as well as total volume of the fireball with respect to center-of-mass energy $(\sqrt{s_{NN}})$ and confront our model calculations with the corresponding thermal freeze-out volume obtained from the Hanbury-B…
We demonstrate that rapidity separated di-hadron spectra in high multiplicity proton-proton collisions at the LHC can be quantitatively described by a combination of BFKL and saturation dynamics. Based on these results, we predict the systematics of di-hadron spectra in proton-nucleus collisions at the LHC.
Transverse spectra of both jets and hadrons obtained in high-energy $pp$ and $p\bar p $ collisions at central rapidity exhibit power-law behavior of $1/p_T^n$ at high $p_T$. The power index $n$ is 4-5 for jet production and is 6-10 for hadron production. Furthermore, the hadron spectra spanning over 14 orders of magnitude down to the lowest $p_T$ region in $pp$ collisions at LHC can be adequately described by a single nonextensive statistical mechanical distribution that is widely used in other branches of science. This suggests indirectly the possible dominance of the hard-scattering process …
We calculate rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of charmonium formed in high energy heavy ion collsions from incoherent recombination of charm quarks. The results are very sensitive to the corresponding distributions of the charm quarks, and thus can serve as a probe of the state of matter produced in the heavy ion collision. At one extreme we generate a set of charm pair momenta directly from pQCD amplitudes, which are appropriate if one can neglect interaction of the quarks with the medium. At the other extreme we generate momenta of charm quarks in thermal equilibrium with the e…
