The future Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) would allow collisions of an intense electron beam with protons or heavy ions at the High Luminosity-Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). Owing to a center of mass energy greater than a TeV and very high luminosity (~1 ab{-1}), the LHeC would not only be a new generation collider for deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) but also an important facility for precision Higgs physics, complementary to pp and e+ e- colliders. Previously, it has been found that uncertainties of 0.8% and 7.4% can be achieved on the Higgs boson coupling strength to b- and c-quarks respectively. These results were obtained in the fast simulation frameworks for the LHeC detector. Focusing on the dominant Higgs boson decay channel, H to bb, the present work aims to give a comparison of these results with a fully simulated detector. We present our results in this study using the publicly available ATLAS software infrastructure. Based on state-of-the art reconstruction algorithms, a novel analysis of the bb decay could be performed leading to an independent verification of the existing results to an exceptionally high precision.
A measurement of Z production cross-section in $γe^{-}$ collision at Large Hadron-electron Collider (LHeC) is presented to compare to that at International Linear Collider (ILC). The total cross-section depends strongly on the polarization of the initial and final $e^{-}$ beams, the electron beam energy $E_{e}$ with the energy of the proton beam taken to be $E_{p} = 7$ TeV. The result shows that the total cross-section in $γe^{-} \rightarrow Z e^{-} \rightarrow l^{-}l^{+}e^{-}$ at LHeC is much larger than that at ILC.
The future Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) would enable collisions of an intense electron beam with either protons or heavy ions at the High Luminosity-Large Hadron Collider (HL- LHC). With a center of mass energy greater than a TeV and a high luminosity, the LHeC would be a new-generation collider for deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) and a significant facility for precise Higgs physics, complementing pp and electron-positron colliders. Anomalous hadronic decay signatures of the Higgs Boson, such as those into three or more partons, are challenging to detect at the LHC due to high backgro…
We study the exotic decay of the 125 GeV Higgs boson ($h$) into a pair of light spin-0 particles ($ϕ$) which subsequently decays and results in a $4b$ final state. This decay mode is well motivated in the Next to Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) and extended Higgs sector models. Instead of searching at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) which are beset by large Standard Model (SM) backgrounds, we investigate this decay channel at the much cleaner Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC). With some simple selection cuts this channel …
We examine the potential of the process $ep \rightarrow eγ^{*} γ^{*} p\rightarrow eτ\barτp$ at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Hadron Electron Collider (FCC-he) to examine non-standard $τ\barτγ$ coupling in a model independent way by means of the effective Lagrangian approach. We perform pure leptonic and semileptonic decays for $τ^{-}τ^{+}$ production in the final state. Furthermore, we use $L = 10, 50, 100, 300, 500, 1000$ fb$^{-1}$ with at $\sqrt{s}=1.30, 1.98, 7.07, 10$ TeV and we consider systematic uncertainties of $δ_{sys}=0,5,10 \%$. The best sensitivi…
We consider the decay of the Higgs boson to W$^{+}$ W$^{-}$ at a proposed Large Hadron Electron Collider and determine the likelihood of detecting a signal for the Higgs mass from its decay product W jets by imposing cuts to select candidate jet pairs and optimizing the value of the angular separation $ΔR$. It was found that at the LHeC experiment (CM energy $\sqrt{s}=1.3$ TeV and luminosity of 100 fb$^{-1}$ per year), the highest efficiency is obtained with $ΔR = 0.4$, along with a selection scheme of $|Δη| <1, 10<m<85$ GeV, $p_T$ of jets 1 and 2 between $10 - 20$ GeV and $p_T$ of jets 3 and …
The linear and non-linear behavior of the top reduced cross section in the LHeC region is considered concerning the boson-gluon fusion (BGF) model at the deep inelastic scattering leptoproduction. We will show that the nonlinear behavior, at this region, for the $t\overline{t}$ production is very small. Also the behavior of the top reduced cross section and the ratio $R^{t}$ in this processes is considered.
The deep inelastic scattering mode of $t\overline{t}$ pair production at the proposed LHeC and FCC-eh is considered. We present a method to extract the top reduced cross section related to the transversal structure function $F_{2}(x,Q^{2})$ parameterization. Numerical calculations with known kinematics of the LHeC and FCC-eh colliders are demonstrated. The results obtained for charm and beauty pair production are comparable with the experimental data. We show that for a wide range of the momentum transfer into the top quark pair, the reduced cross section is well described by center-of-mass en…

We calculate cross sections for inclusive dijet photoproduction in electron-nucleus scattering in the kinematics of the future EIC and the possible LHeC, HE-LHeC, and the FCC using next-to-leading order (NLO) perturbative QCD and nCTEQ15 and EPPS16 nuclear parton density functions (nPDFs). We make predictions for distributions in the dijet average transverse momentum ${\bar p}_T$, the average rapidity $\barη$, the observed nuclear momentum fraction $x_A^{\rm obs}$, and the observed photon momentum fraction $x_γ^{\rm obs}$. Comparing the kinematic reaches of the four colliders, we find that an …
We study the potential of the next $ep$ collider, namely LHeC, with two options $\sqrt{s}=1.3$ TeV $\sqrt{s}=1.98$ TeV, to search for excited spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 neutrinos. We calculate the single production cross section of excited spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 neutrinos according to their effective currents describing their interactions between gauge bosons and SM leptons. We choose the $ν^{\star}\rightarrow eW$ decay mode of excited neutrinos and $W\rightarrow jj$ decay mode of $W$-boson for the analysis. We put some kinematical cuts for the final state detectable particles and plot the invariant…
As an important sequential work of the S-wave $B_c^{(*)}$ ($^1S_0(^3S_1)$) meson production at the large hadron electron collider (LHeC), we investigate the production of the P-wave excited $B_c^{**}$ states ($^1P_1$ and $^3P_J$ with $J=0,1,2$) via photoproduction mechanism within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD at the LHeC. Generally, the $e^-+P \to γ+ g \rightarrow B_c^{**} +b+ \bar{c}$ process is considered as the main production mechanism at an electron-proton collider due to the large luminosity of the gluon. However, according to our experience on the S-wave $B_c^{(*)}$ meson produc…
In this work we consider the dilepton production via timelike Compton scattering (TCS) in electron-proton and proton-proton collisions. In particular, the differential cross section in terms of the dilepton invariant mass and rapidity is computed within the $k_T$-factorization approach. Besides, we utilize distinct unintegrated gluon distributions (UGD) in order to compare their impact on the differential cross section of TCS in $pp$ ($ep$) collisions evaluated at the LHC (LHeC), HL-LHC (LHeC), HE-LHC (LHeC) and FCC-hh (eh) center-of-mass energies.
We study the anomalous $W^+W^-γ$ couplings in performing the production of the W-pair through the process $e^- p\,\rightarrow\,e^-γ^*γ^* p\,\rightarrow\,e^-W^+W^-p$ at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). We examine the pure hadronic, the semi-leptonic and the pure leptonic decay channels of the produced W-pair. We assume the center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=1.30$ and $1.98$ TeV and the integrated luminosities of 10-100 fb$^{-1}$ for the LHeC and the center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=3.46$ and $5.29$ TeV and the integrated …
The exclusive production of vector mesons and photons in $ep$ collisions is investigated considering three phenomenological saturation models based on distinct assumptions for the treatment of the dipole - hadron scattering amplitude. The latest high precision HERA data for the reduced and vector meson cross sections are used to update the saturation model proposed by Marquet - Peschanski - Soyez (MPS), which predicts that the saturation model is dependent of the squared momentum transfer $t$. The MPS predictions for the photon virtuality, energy and $t$ - dependencies of the exclusive $ρ$, $J…
We consider the ratio of the top structure functions $R^{t}(τ_{t})$ in top pair production as a probe of the top content of the proton at the LHeC project. We study the top structure functions with the geometrical scaling of gluon distribution at small $x$ and show that top reduced cross section exhibits geometrical scaling in a large range of photon vitualities. This analysis shows that top longitudinal structure function has sizeable impact on the top reduced cross section at $Q^{2}{\approx}~ 4m_{t}^{2}$.
The possibility that the 125 GeV Higgs boson may decay into invisible non-standard-model (non-SM) particles is theoretically and phenomenologically intriguing. In this letter we investigate the sensitivity of the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) to an invisibly decaying Higgs, in its proposed high luminosity running mode. We focus on the neutral current Higgs production channel which offers more kinematical handles than its charged current counterpart. The signal contains one electron, one jet and large missing energy. With a cut-based parton level analysis, we estimate that if the $hZZ$ …
In this paper, we study the single top and Higgs associated production $\rm e^- p\rightarrow ν_e \bar{t} \rightarrow ν_e h \bar{q}(h\rightarrow b\bar{b})$ in the top-Higgs FCNC couplings at the LHeC with the electron beam energy of $E_{e}$ = 60 GeV and $E_{e}$ = 120 GeV, combination of a 7 TeV and 50 TeV proton beam. With the possibility of e-beam polarization ($p_{e}$ = 0, $\pm0.6$), we distinct the Cut-based method and the Multivariate Analysis (MVA) based method, and compare with the current experimental and theoretical limits. It is shown that the branching ratio Br $\rm(t\to uh)$ can be p…
Predictions of the top-pair production cross section in electron-proton (ep) collisions at the future circular collider hadron-electron (FCC-he) and the large hadron electron collider (LHeC) in the leading order (LO) and the next-to-leading order (NLO) approximations in perturbative quantum chromodynamics (QCD) are presented. Numerical results for the top structure functions and the ratio of structure functions are computed at the renormalization scale $μ^{2}=Q^{2}+4m^{2}_{t}$ in the collinear generalized double asymptotic scaling (DAS) approach. These results are presented in terms of the eff…
In this paper, we study the anomalous flavor changing neutral current Yukawa interactions between the top quark, the Higgs boson, and either an up or charm quark ($\rm tqH, q=u, c$). We probe these couplings in $\rm e^- p\rightarrow ν_e \bar{t} \rightarrow ν_e H \bar{q}$ and the channel $\rm e^- p \rightarrow ν_e H b$. Both channels are induced by charged current interactions through $\rm e^- p$ collision at the Large Hadron Electron Collider(LHeC). We study the signatures with the Higgs decay modes $\rm H\rightarrow γγ, b\bar{b}$ and $τ^+τ^-$. Our results show that the flavor changing couplin…
The proposed electron-proton collider LHeC is a unique facility where electroweak interactions can be studied with a very high precision in a largely unexplored kinematic regime of spacelike momentum transfer. We have simulated inclusive neutral- and charged-current deep-inelastic lepton proton scattering cross section data at center-of-mass energies of 1.2 and 1.3 TeV including their systematic uncertainties. Based on simultaneous fits of electroweak physics parameters and parton distribution functions, we estimate the uncertainties of Standard Model parameters as well as a number of paramete…
The quartic gauge boson couplings that identify the strengths of the gauge boson self-interactions are exactly determined by the non-Abelian gauge nature of the Standard Model. The examination of these couplings at $ep$ collisions with high center-of-mass energy and high integrated luminosity provides an important opportunity to test the validity of the Standard Model and the existence of new physics beyond the Standard Model. The quartic gauge boson couplings can contribute directly to multi-boson production at colliders. Therefore, we examine the potential of the process $ep \rightarrow ν_{e…
Leading neutron (LN) production in $ep$ collisions at high energies is investigated using the color dipole formalism and taking into account saturation effects. We update the treatment of absorptive effects and estimate the impact of these effects on LN spectra in the kinematical range that will be probed by the Electron Ion Collider (EIC) and by the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC). We demonstrate that Feynman scaling, associated to saturation, is not violated by the inclusion of absorptive effects. Moreover, our results indicate that the LN spectrum is strongly suppressed at small photo…
We investigate the possibility of detecting Majorana neutrinos at the Large Hadron-electron Collider (LHeC), an electron-proton collision mode at CERN. We study the $l_j^{+} + 3 jets$ ($l_j\equiv e ,μ,τ$) final states which are, due to leptonic number violation, a clear signature for intermediate Majorana neutrino contributions. Such signals are not possible if the heavy neutrinos have Dirac nature. The interactions between Majorana neutrinos and the Standard Model (SM) particles are obtained from an effective lagrangian approach. We present our results for the total cross section as a functio…
As one category of vector boson fusion, photo-production is one important production mechanism at $e$-$p$ colliders. A future $e$-$p$ collider -- Large Hadron-electron Collider (LHeC) has been discussed as a "Higgs factory" candidate where the Higgs boson produced via weak boson fusion (WBF) at the LHeC plays an important role in precision measurement of Yukawa couplings. On the other hand, a measurement of photo-production of the Higgs boson, if possible, might be complementary to the measurement of Higgs to di-photon partial decay width $Γ({h\toγγ})$. In this paper, we study the possibility …
Based on the nonrelativistic QCD framework, we study the $Υ$ production in semi-inclusive deep inelastic electron-proton scattering (SIDIS) at HERA, EIC, and LHeC, with the main aim of assessing the viability of observing $Υ$ electroproduction at the three colliders. The color-octet (CO) contributions are found to have a crucial effect on both the integrated and differential cross sections, serving to further establish the significance of the CO mechanism. By setting the kinematic cuts to $p_{t,Υ}^{\star 2}>1~\textrm{GeV}^{2}$, $W>50$ GeV, $2<Q^2<100~\textrm{GeV}^2$, and $0.3<z<0.9$, only a fe…
The precision measurement of the $WWγ$ vertex at the future Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) at CERN is discussed in this paper. We propose to measure this vertex in the $e^{-} p\to e^{-}W^{\pm}j$ channel as a complement to the conventional charged current $ν_{e}γj$ channel. In addition to the cross section measurement, $χ^{2}$ method studies of angular variables provide powerful tools to probe the anomalous structure of triple gauge boson couplings. We study the distribution of the well-known azimuthal angle between the final state forward electron and jet in this vector-boson fusion (VB…
The exclusive vector meson production in electron-ion collisions for the energies of the future colliders is investigated. We present predictions for the coherent and incoherent $ϕ$ and $J/ψ$ production in $eAu$ collisions considering the possible states of nucleon configurations in the nuclear wave function and taking into account of the non-linear corrections to the QCD dynamics. The cross sections and transverse momentum distributions are estimated assuming the energies of the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) and Future Circular Collider (FCC-$eh$). Our res…
We study the cross-section of production of a single $W^-$ boson in association with a neutrino through the process $e^-p \to e^-γ^*p \to ν_eW^- p$. Additionally, we obtain the anomalous couplings $Δκ_γ$ and $λ_γ$ of the $W^+W^-γ$ vertex at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider Hadron-Electron (FCC-he). The impact of the polarized beam due to the electron is also analyzed. Our best limits for $Δκ_γ$ and $λ_γ$ at the $95\%$ C.L. are: $Δκ_γ= \pm 0.0017$, $λ_γ= \pm 0.0053$ (unpolarized electron beam) and $Δκ_γ= \pm 0.0013$, $λ_γ= \pm 0.0046$ (polarized electro…
In this paper, a study is carried out on the $e^-p \to e^-γ^* p \to p W^+γν_e$ production to probe quartic $W^+W^-γγ$ couplings using 10, 100 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ of $e^-p$ collisions data at $\sqrt{s}$= 1.30, 1.98 GeV at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and 100, 1000 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ with $\sqrt{s}$= 3.46, 5.29 GeV at the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). Production cross-sections are determined for both at leptonic and hadronic decay channel of the $W$-boson. With the data from future $e^-p$ colliders, it is possible to obtain sensitivity measures at $95\%$ C.L. on the an…
In the present work, $k_T$-factorization formalism is applied to compute the exclusive dilepton production by timelike Compton scattering (TCS) in $eA$, $pA$ and $AA$ collisions. The nuclear effects are investigated considering heavy and light ions. The production cross section in terms of invariant mass and rapidity distribution of the lepton pair is shown. The analysis is done for electron-ion collisions at the Large Hadron-Electron Collider (LHeC), its high-energy upgrade (HE-LHeC) and at the Future Circular Collider (FCC) in lepton-hadron mode. Additionally, ultraperipheral heavy ion colli…
We explore the possibility of searching for axionlike particle (ALP) by $ep$ collisions via the subprocess $e^{-}γ\rightarrow e^{-}a \rightarrow e^{-}γγ$. Sensitivities to the effective ALP-photon coupling $g_{aγγ}$ for its mass in the range of 10 GeV $< M_{a}< 3$ TeV are obtained for the LHeC and its high-energy upgrade, FCC-eh. Comparing to existing bounds on the ALP free parameters, we find that the bounds given by $ep$ colliders are competitive and complementary to other colliders.
We study the diffractive jet production in electron-ion collisions in the kinematical region where the mass $M_X$ of the diffractive final state is larger than $Q^2$. Based on parton saturation framework predictions are done for the kinematics of future or possible $eA$ machines as the EIC, LHeC, HE-LHeC and FCC-eA. We analyze the differential cross section as a function of jet (gluon) transverse momentum and from the experimental point of view this observable could be used to extract the saturation scale as a function of $x_{I\!\!P}$.
In this paper we study the electroproduction of open heavy flavor $D$- and $B$-mesons in the kinematics of future $ep$ colliders, such as the Electron Ion Collider (EIC), the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider (FCC-he). We study in detail the dependence of the cross-sections on multiplicity of co-produced hadrons, in view of its possible sensitivity to contributions from multipomeron contributions, and discuss different observables which might be used for its study. According to our theoretical expectations, in $ep$ collisions the multipomeron contributions …
In this note we analyse the excess in the $W^+W^-$ inclusive cross section recently measured by the LHC experiments. We point out that in fact for the ATLAS fiducial cross sections there is no excess in the measurements compared to the NLO QCD predictions. We also argue that higher order effects to the fiducial cross section are small, and tend to cancel each other, hence the inclusion of NNLO and NNLL corrections will not modify this agreement significantly. We find that at 8 TeV a substantial part of the disagreement with the NLO prediction for the total cross section observed by ATLAS is du…
We investigate the anomalous flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions of top quark through the process $e^{-}p\to e^{-}W^{\pm}q+X$. We calculate the signal and background cross sections in electron proton collisions at Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) with a 7 TeV proton beam from the LHC and a new 60 GeV electron beam from energy recovery linac (ERL). We study the relevant background processes including one electron and three jets in the final state. The distributions of the invariant mass of two jets and an additional jet tagged as $b$-jet are used to account signal and back…
The cross sections of $e^+e^- \rightarrow πZ_c(3900) \rightarrow ππJ/ψ$ and $e^+e^- \rightarrow πZ_c(3900) \rightarrow πD\bar{D}^{*}$ have been measured by BESIII experiment. We try to perform a combined fit to the cross sections with one Breit-Wigner function, the fit results show the structure's mass and width are $M=(4232\pm5)$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ=(65\pm21)$ MeV. The ratio $\frac{\mathcal{B}(Z_c(3900)\rightarrow D\bar{D}^{*})}{\mathcal{B}(Z_c(3900)\rightarrowπJ/ψ)}$ is determined to be $(16\pm6)$. We also try to fit the cross sections with two Breit-Wigner functions, while we can't come to any de…
We perform an updated analysis on the searches for the anomalous FCNC Yukawa interactions between the top quark, the Higgs boson, and either an up or charm quark ($\rm tqh,\ q=u,\ c$). We probe the observability of the FCNC top-Higgs couplings through the processes $\rm e^- p\rightarrow ν_e \bar{t} \rightarrow ν_e h \bar{q}$ (signal.I) and $\rm \ e^- p \to ν_e h b$ (singal.II) at the proposed electron proton (ep) colliders, where the Higgs boson decays to a $\rm b\bar{b}$ pair. We find that at the high luminosity (1 $\rm ab^{-1}$) ep colliders where the electrons have a polarisation of $\rm 80…
Model estimates are obtained for the influence of Coulomb effects on the ratio of the cross sections for the production of charged and neutral $B\bar B$ and $B^*\bar B^*$ pairs in $e^+e^-$ annihilation. It is shown that the difference between the masses of charged and neutral mesons obtained under the assumption that this ratio is constant on a scale of the order of the beam energy spread can differ from the true one by $δM \sim 0.03\,\mbox{MeV}$ at the energy of $Υ(5S)$ and by $δM \sim 0.4\,\mbox{MeV}$ at the energy of $Υ(4S)$. Thus, the errors given in the PDG for the difference between the …
We have calculated one loop quantum electrodynamic corrections to the process $ γγ\rightarrowμ^+μ^-γ$, where all photons are on mass shell and the muon mass is taken into account. The result is obtained in the analytical form and is implemented as functions in the C programming language, which can be used to calculate the cross-section, the differential cross section, and to construct generators. We also present numerical results for corrections to the cross section and to the differential cross section.
An approximately analysis study of the collinear approach for $t\overline{t}$ production at the Future Circular Collider hadron-electron (FCC-he) and the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) is performed. To study heavy quark production processes, the collinear generalized double asymptotic scaling (DAS) approach in a wide rang of $Q^{2}$ is used. The reduced cross sections for top quark pair production at the FCC-he (for $Q^{2}{\geq}m^{2}_{t}$) and LHeC (for $Q^{2}{\leq}m^{2}_{t}$) center-of-mass energies at the high inelasticity are derived. These results may be considering for both the fut…
This document discusses for the first time the experimental prospects on the measurement of cross section and the forward-backward asymmetry in $e^{-}e^{+}\rightarrow c\bar{c}$ collisions at 250 GeV at the International Linear Collider operating polarised beams. The cross section will be normalised to the total hadronic cross section. We discuss the results for an analysis assuming the integrated luminosity of 2000 fb$^{-1}$ foreseen in the baseline project. The measurement requires determining the charge of both jets identified as originated by a $c$-quark. The charge measurement is optimally…
We present a set of formula to extract exponents of the longitudinal structure function and reduced cross section from the Regge-like behavior at small $x$. The exponents are found to be independent of $Q^{2}$ at NNLO analysis. As a result, we show that the reduced cross section exponents do not have the same behavior at some values of $x$. This difference predicts the non-linear effects and some evidence for shadowing and antishadowing at LHeC. Also the ratio $\frac{F_{2}}σ$ is calculated and compared with the corresponding HERA data. Our calculations show a very good agreement with the DIS e…
We investigate roads for evaluating model-independent cross-section distributions for the sequential hyperon decay $Σ^0\rightarrowΛγ;Λ\rightarrow pπ^- $ and its corresponding antihyperon decay. The hyperons are produced in the reaction $e^+e^-\rightarrow J/ψ\rightarrow Σ^0\barΣ^0$. Cross-section distributions are calculated using the folding technique.
