If the LHC discovers a $Z'$-like state the extraction of its couplings to the particles of the Standard Model becomes mandatory in order to determine the nature of the underlying new physics theory. It has been well-known for some time that the direct measurements performed at the LHC in the Drell-Yan channel cannot determine these parameters uniquely in a model-independent manner even if large integrated luminosities, $\sim 100 fb^{-1}$, become available and the $Z'$ is relatively light $\lsim 1.5$ TeV. Here we examine the possibility that a proposed $e_{L,R}^\pm p$ collider upgrade at the LHC, the LHeC, with $\sqrt s=1.5-2$ TeV could be helpful with such coupling determinations in the years before a Linear Collider is constructed. We show that the polarization and charge asymmetries constructed from the cross sections for these processes can be useful in this regard depending upon the specific values of the particular $Z'$ model parameters.

95% C. In the context of $SU(2)_L\times U(1)$ dimension six operators we study the potential of the LHeC to provide information on top quark effective interactions. We focus on single antitop production and how it is affected not only by the effective $tbW$ coupling but also by four-fermion operators. Compared to the LHC, the LHeC provides a cleaner environment to make a precise measurement of the top quark production cross section. Therefore, this machine would give a much better assesment of $V_{tb}$ in the context of the SM or $V_L$ in the context of higher dimension operators. The LHeC could also…
考虑新物理能量标度为$Λ$ = 1 TeV,通过$ep\to νH +X$、$γp\to W H +X$和$eγ\to W H ν$过程,我们获得了异常$HWW$和$HWWγ$顶点耦合的95%置信水平限值,设计亮度为10 fb $^{-1}$,电子束能量为140 GeV。还简要讨论了LHeC对新物理尺度的敏感性。
We conducted a study on measuring $W^+W^-$ production and on the sensitivity limits at $95\%$ Confidence Level on thirteen anomalous couplings obtained by dimension-8 operators which are related to the anomalous quartic $WWγγ$ couplings. We consider the main $e^-p \to e^-γ^*γ^*p \to e^-W^+W^-p$ reaction with the sub-process $γ^*γ^* \to W^+W^-$ at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). For the LHeC, energies of the $e^-$ beams are taken to be $E_e =60$ and 140 GeV and the energy of the $p$ beams is taken to be $E_p = 7$ TeV. For the …
We explore the physics expected sensitivity at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he) to search for the anomalous quartic $WWγγ$ couplings in single $W$-boson production in association with a photon. We study the process $ep \to e^-γ^* p \to eWγq'X$ via the subprocess $γ^* q \to Wγq'$. The center-of-mass energies and luminosities of the LHeC are assumed to be $\sqrt{s}=1.30, 1.98$ TeV, ${\cal L}=10-100$ ${\rm fb^{-1} }$ and for the FCC-he $\sqrt{s}=3.46, 5.29$ TeV and ${\cal L}=100-1000$ ${\rm fb^{-1} }$. With these energies and lumi…
We study the anomalous $W^+W^-γ$ couplings in performing the production of the W-pair through the process $e^- p\,\rightarrow\,e^-γ^*γ^* p\,\rightarrow\,e^-W^+W^-p$ at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). We examine the pure hadronic, the semi-leptonic and the pure leptonic decay channels of the produced W-pair. We assume the center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=1.30$ and $1.98$ TeV and the integrated luminosities of 10-100 fb$^{-1}$ for the LHeC and the center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=3.46$ and $5.29$ TeV and the integrated …
We examine the potential of the $e^-p \to e^-γ^*p \to e^-W^-q'X$ ($γ^*$ is Weizsacker-Willams photon) reaction to probe the non-standard $W^+W^-γ$ couplings at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). We find $95\%$ confidence level bounds on the anomalous coupling $Δκ_γ$ and $λ_γ$ parameters in the view of effective Lagrangian approach with various values of the integrated luminosity. We assume center-of-mass energies of the electron-proton system $\sqrt{s}= 1.30, 1.98, 7.07, 10\hspace{0.8mm}{\rm TeV}$ and luminosities ${\cal L} = 10…
The precision measurement of the $WWγ$ vertex at the future Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) at CERN is discussed in this paper. We propose to measure this vertex in the $e^{-} p\to e^{-}W^{\pm}j$ channel as a complement to the conventional charged current $ν_{e}γj$ channel. In addition to the cross section measurement, $χ^{2}$ method studies of angular variables provide powerful tools to probe the anomalous structure of triple gauge boson couplings. We study the distribution of the well-known azimuthal angle between the final state forward electron and jet in this vector-boson fusion (VB…
In this paper, a study is carried out on the $e^-p \to e^-γ^* p \to p W^+γν_e$ production to probe quartic $W^+W^-γγ$ couplings using 10, 100 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ of $e^-p$ collisions data at $\sqrt{s}$= 1.30, 1.98 GeV at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and 100, 1000 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ with $\sqrt{s}$= 3.46, 5.29 GeV at the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). Production cross-sections are determined for both at leptonic and hadronic decay channel of the $W$-boson. With the data from future $e^-p$ colliders, it is possible to obtain sensitivity measures at $95\%$ C.L. on the an…
A study of the top quark \emph{Flavour Changing Neutral Current} (FCNC) through $Z$-boson has been performed in the proposed future $e^-p$ collider for the energy, $E_{e(p)} = 60~(7000)$~GeV. We considered an effective theory where the anomalous FCNC couplings are of vector and tensor nature. The effect of these couplings is probed in the single top production along with the scattered electron. The polar angle $θ$ of the electrons coming out of the primary vertex in association with the top quark polarization asymmetries constructed from the angular distribution of the secondary lepton arising…
The determination of the Higgs self coupling is one of the key ingredients for understanding the mechanism behind the electroweak symmetry breaking. An indirect method for constraining the Higgs trilinear self coupling via single Higgs production at next-to-leading order (NLO) has been proposed in order to avoid the drawbacks of studies with double Higgs production. In this paper we study the Higgs self interaction through the vector boson fusion (VBF) process $e^{-} p \to ν_{e} h j$ at the future LHeC. At NLO level, we compute analytically the scattering amplitudes for relevant processes, in …
We investigate the possibility of detecting Majorana neutrinos at the Large Hadron-electron Collider (LHeC), an electron-proton collision mode at CERN. We study the $l_j^{+} + 3 jets$ ($l_j\equiv e ,μ,τ$) final states which are, due to leptonic number violation, a clear signature for intermediate Majorana neutrino contributions. Such signals are not possible if the heavy neutrinos have Dirac nature. The interactions between Majorana neutrinos and the Standard Model (SM) particles are obtained from an effective lagrangian approach. We present our results for the total cross section as a functio…
In this paper, we study the single top and Higgs associated production $\rm e^- p\rightarrow ν_e \bar{t} \rightarrow ν_e h \bar{q}(h\rightarrow b\bar{b})$ in the top-Higgs FCNC couplings at the LHeC with the electron beam energy of $E_{e}$ = 60 GeV and $E_{e}$ = 120 GeV, combination of a 7 TeV and 50 TeV proton beam. With the possibility of e-beam polarization ($p_{e}$ = 0, $\pm0.6$), we distinct the Cut-based method and the Multivariate Analysis (MVA) based method, and compare with the current experimental and theoretical limits. It is shown that the branching ratio Br $\rm(t\to uh)$ can be p…
The LHeC is a proposed upgrade of the LHC to study $ep/eA$ collisions in the TeV regime, by adding a 60 GeV electron beam through an energy recovery linac. In $ep$, high precision top and electroweak physics can be performed, such as measurements of anomalous top couplings, light quark couplings to the $Z$ boson and the energy dependence of the weak mixing angle $\sin^2\!θ_W$, for which simulation studies are presented.
We study the cross-section of production of a single $W^-$ boson in association with a neutrino through the process $e^-p \to e^-γ^*p \to ν_eW^- p$. Additionally, we obtain the anomalous couplings $Δκ_γ$ and $λ_γ$ of the $W^+W^-γ$ vertex at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider Hadron-Electron (FCC-he). The impact of the polarized beam due to the electron is also analyzed. Our best limits for $Δκ_γ$ and $λ_γ$ at the $95\%$ C.L. are: $Δκ_γ= \pm 0.0017$, $λ_γ= \pm 0.0053$ (unpolarized electron beam) and $Δκ_γ= \pm 0.0013$, $λ_γ= \pm 0.0046$ (polarized electro…
We examine the potential of the process $ep \rightarrow eγ^{*} γ^{*} p\rightarrow eτ\barτp$ at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Hadron Electron Collider (FCC-he) to examine non-standard $τ\barτγ$ coupling in a model independent way by means of the effective Lagrangian approach. We perform pure leptonic and semileptonic decays for $τ^{-}τ^{+}$ production in the final state. Furthermore, we use $L = 10, 50, 100, 300, 500, 1000$ fb$^{-1}$ with at $\sqrt{s}=1.30, 1.98, 7.07, 10$ TeV and we consider systematic uncertainties of $δ_{sys}=0,5,10 \%$. The best sensitivi…
While charged lepton flavor violation (cLFV) with taus is often expected to be largest in many extensions of the Standard Model (SM), it is currently much less constrained than cLFV with electrons and muons. We study the sensitivity of the LHeC to $e$-$τ$ (and $e$-$μ$) conversion processes $p e^- \to τ^- + j$ (and $p e^- \to μ^- + j$) mediated by a $Z'$ with flavor-violating couplings to charged leptons in the $t$-channel. Compared to current tests at the LHC, where cLFV decays of the $Z'$ (produced in the s-channel) are searched for, the LHeC has sensitivity to much higher $Z'$ masses, up to …
We study the potential of the next $ep$ collider, namely LHeC, with two options $\sqrt{s}=1.3$ TeV $\sqrt{s}=1.98$ TeV, to search for excited spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 neutrinos. We calculate the single production cross section of excited spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 neutrinos according to their effective currents describing their interactions between gauge bosons and SM leptons. We choose the $ν^{\star}\rightarrow eW$ decay mode of excited neutrinos and $W\rightarrow jj$ decay mode of $W$-boson for the analysis. We put some kinematical cuts for the final state detectable particles and plot the invariant…
The quartic gauge boson couplings that identify the strengths of the gauge boson self-interactions are exactly determined by the non-Abelian gauge nature of the Standard Model. The examination of these couplings at $ep$ collisions with high center-of-mass energy and high integrated luminosity provides an important opportunity to test the validity of the Standard Model and the existence of new physics beyond the Standard Model. The quartic gauge boson couplings can contribute directly to multi-boson production at colliders. Therefore, we examine the potential of the process $ep \rightarrow ν_{e…
We investigate the anomalous flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) interactions of top quark through the process $e^{-}p\to e^{-}W^{\pm}q+X$. We calculate the signal and background cross sections in electron proton collisions at Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) with a 7 TeV proton beam from the LHC and a new 60 GeV electron beam from energy recovery linac (ERL). We study the relevant background processes including one electron and three jets in the final state. The distributions of the invariant mass of two jets and an additional jet tagged as $b$-jet are used to account signal and back…
As one category of vector boson fusion, photo-production is one important production mechanism at $e$-$p$ colliders. A future $e$-$p$ collider -- Large Hadron-electron Collider (LHeC) has been discussed as a "Higgs factory" candidate where the Higgs boson produced via weak boson fusion (WBF) at the LHeC plays an important role in precision measurement of Yukawa couplings. On the other hand, a measurement of photo-production of the Higgs boson, if possible, might be complementary to the measurement of Higgs to di-photon partial decay width $Γ({h\toγγ})$. In this paper, we study the possibility …
We study the exotic decay of the 125 GeV Higgs boson ($h$) into a pair of light spin-0 particles ($ϕ$) which subsequently decays and results in a $4b$ final state. This decay mode is well motivated in the Next to Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) and extended Higgs sector models. Instead of searching at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) which are beset by large Standard Model (SM) backgrounds, we investigate this decay channel at the much cleaner Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC). With some simple selection cuts this channel …
We summarize the quantitative results of our analysis [1] of top-pair photoproduction in semileptonic mode in $pe$ collisions at the LHeC and FCC-he. We define three photoproduction regions, based on the rapidity acceptance range of the electron tagger, that provide different degrees of sensitivity to top-quark effective couplings. We focus on the $t\bar{t}γ$ dipole couplings and the left-handed vector $tbW$ coupling, for which we determine limits at both energies in the different photoproduction regions. We find that the LHeC and FCC-he will yield tight direct bounds on top dipole moments, gr…
Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has provided direct evidence of Yukawa couplings between the third generation charged fermions and the 125 GeV Higgs boson. Whether the first two generation charged fermions arise from exactly the same mechanism becomes the next interesting question. Therefore, direct measurements of charm or muon Yukawa couplings will be crucial to answering this puzzle. The charm Yukawa measurement at the LHC suffers from severe QCD background and it is extremely difficult to reach the sensitivity. In this paper, we compare the potential of probing charm Yukawa coupling at the two…
We explore leptoquark production and decay for the $\tilde{R}_{2}$ class of models at the proposed $e^{-} p$ collider LHeC, planned to operate with 150 GeV electron and 7 TeV proton beams. In addition to the coupling of leptoquark with the lepton and jet, the model also has right handed neutrinos, coupled to the leptoquark. We analyse the collider signatures of a number of final states, that can originate from leptoquark decay into the standard model particles, as well as, the final states that originate from further decay of the heavy neutrinos, produced from leptoquark. We find that the fina…
The future Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) would allow collisions of an intense electron beam with protons or heavy ions at the High Luminosity-Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). Owing to a center of mass energy greater than a TeV and very high luminosity (~1 ab{-1}), the LHeC would not only be a new generation collider for deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) but also an important facility for precision Higgs physics, complementary to pp and e+ e- colliders. Previously, it has been found that uncertainties of 0.8% and 7.4% can be achieved on the Higgs boson coupling strength to b- and c-quarks …
The measurement of the Higgs quartic coupling modifier between a Higgs boson pair and a vector boson pair, $κ_{2V}$, is expected to be achieved from vector-boson fusion (VBF) production of a Higgs boson pair. However, this process involves another unmeasured parameter, the trilinear Higgs self-coupling modifier $κ_{λ}$. A sensitivity analysis should target both parameters. Since the LHC cannot avoid the gluon fusion pollution, which becomes severe for non-SM $κ_{λ}$, an electron-proton collider is more appropriate for the comprehensive measurement. In this regard, we study the VBF production o…
In this paper, we study the anomalous flavor changing neutral current Yukawa interactions between the top quark, the Higgs boson, and either an up or charm quark ($\rm tqH, q=u, c$). We probe these couplings in $\rm e^- p\rightarrow ν_e \bar{t} \rightarrow ν_e H \bar{q}$ and the channel $\rm e^- p \rightarrow ν_e H b$. Both channels are induced by charged current interactions through $\rm e^- p$ collision at the Large Hadron Electron Collider(LHeC). We study the signatures with the Higgs decay modes $\rm H\rightarrow γγ, b\bar{b}$ and $τ^+τ^-$. Our results show that the flavor changing couplin…
The proposed electron-proton collider LHeC is a unique facility where electroweak interactions can be studied with a very high precision in a largely unexplored kinematic regime of spacelike momentum transfer. We have simulated inclusive neutral- and charged-current deep-inelastic lepton proton scattering cross section data at center-of-mass energies of 1.2 and 1.3 TeV including their systematic uncertainties. Based on simultaneous fits of electroweak physics parameters and parton distribution functions, we estimate the uncertainties of Standard Model parameters as well as a number of paramete…
We perform a search for beyond the standard model dimension-six operators relevant to the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Hadron Electron Collider (FCC-he). With a large amount of data (few ab$^{-1}$) and collisions at TeV scale, both LHeC and FCC-he provide excellent opportunities to search for the BSM effects. The study is done through the process $e^-p \to h j ν_e$ where the Higgs boson decays into a pair of $b \bar{b}$ and we consider the main sources of background processes including a realistic simulation of detector effects. For the FCC-h…
The new vector-like top partners with charge $2/3$ are a typical feature of many new physics models beyond the Standard Model (SM). We propose a search strategy for single production of top partners $T$ focusing on both the $T\to Wb$ and $T\to th$ decay channels at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC). Our analysis is based on a simplified model in which the top partner is an $SU(2)$ singlet, with couplings only to the third generation of SM quarks. We study the observability of the single $T$ through the processes $e^{+}p \to T(\to bW^{+})\barν_{e}\to b\ell^{+}+ \not E_T^{miss}$ and $e^{…
We perform an updated analysis on the searches for the anomalous FCNC Yukawa interactions between the top quark, the Higgs boson, and either an up or charm quark ($\rm tqh,\ q=u,\ c$). We probe the observability of the FCNC top-Higgs couplings through the processes $\rm e^- p\rightarrow ν_e \bar{t} \rightarrow ν_e h \bar{q}$ (signal.I) and $\rm \ e^- p \to ν_e h b$ (singal.II) at the proposed electron proton (ep) colliders, where the Higgs boson decays to a $\rm b\bar{b}$ pair. We find that at the high luminosity (1 $\rm ab^{-1}$) ep colliders where the electrons have a polarisation of $\rm 80…
The top quark flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) processes are extremely suppressed within the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. However, they could be enhanced in a new physics model Beyond the Standard Model (BSM). The top quark FCNC interactions would be a good test of new physics at present and future colliders. Within the framework of the BSM models, these interactions can be described by an effective Lagrangian. In this work, we study tqgamma and tqZ effective FCNC interaction vertices through the process e-p->e-Wq+X at future electron proton colliders, projected as Large Hadr…

We study the accuracy with which the lowest order $CP$ conserving anomalous $Wtb$ couplings in the single top quark production at the proposed large hadron electron collider (LHeC) can be probed. The one dimensional distribution of various kinematic observables at the parton level MC and their asymmetries arising due to the presence of anomalous couplings both in the hadronic and leptonic $W$ decay is examined. \par We find that at 95 \% C.L. the anomalous coupling associated with the left handed vector current can be measured at an accuracy of the order of $\sim 10^{-2}-10^{-3}$, while those …
The couplings of the Higgs boson ($H$) with massive gauge bosons of weak interaction ($V= W, Z$), can be probed in single Higgs boson production at the proposed future Large Hadron-Electron Collider (LHeC). In the collision of an electron with a proton, single Higgs production takes place via so-called charged-current ($e^-p \to ν_e H j$) and neutral-current ($e^-p \to e^-H j$) processes. We explore the potential of the azimuthal angle correlation between the forward jet and scattered neutrino or electron in probing the non-standard $HVV$ couplings at the collider center-of-mass energy of $\sq…
Photoproduction of Theta^+(1540,1/2^+) reexamined with new theoretical information
The strong coupling constants of hadronic multiplets are fundamental parameters which carry information of the strong interactions among participating particles. These parameters can help us construct the hadron-hadron strong potential and gain information about the structure of the involved hadrons. Motivated by the recent observation of the doubly charmed $Ξ_{cc}$ state by LHCb, we determine the strong coupling constants among the doubly heavy spin-1/2 baryons, $ Ξ^{(\prime)}_{QQ^\prime }$, $ Ω^{(\prime)}_{QQ^\prime}$ and light pseudoscalar mesons, $ π$, $ K $, $η$ and $ η^\prime $ within th…
