An electroweak (EW) sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with masses of a few hundred GeV can account for variety of experimental data, assuming the lightest neutralino to be the lightest supersymmetric (SUSY) particle: the non-observation at the LHC searches owing to their small production cross sections, the results for the (upper limit of the) Dark Matter (DM) relic abundance and the DM Direct Detection (DD) limits. Such a light EW sector can in particular explain the reinforced $4.2\,σ$ discrepancy between the experimental result for $(g-2)_μ$, and its Standard Model (SM) prediction. Using the improved limits on $(g-2)_μ$, we review the predictions for the future prospects of the DD experiments. This analysis is performed for several different realizations of DM in the MSSM: bino, bino/wino, wino and higgsino DM. We find that higgsino, wino and one type of bino scenario can be covered by future DD experiments. Mixed bino/wino and another type of bino DM can reach DD cross sections below the neutrino floor. In these cases future collider experiments must cover the remaining parameter space.
New studies of the ATLAS and CMS collaborations are presented on the sensitivity to searches for non-standard signatures of particular SUSY scenarios. These signatures include non-pointing photons, as well as pairs of prompt photons, as expected in GMSB SUSY models, as well as heavy stable charged particles produced in split supersymmetry models, long lived staus from GMSB SUSY and long lived stops in other SUSY scenarios. A detailed detector simulation is used for the study, and all relevant Standard Model backgrounds and detector effects that can mimic these special signatures are included. …
In this talk, prospects for the charged Higgs in non-SUSY models are reviewed, in view of LHC results (as of October, 2012). The four models (Type I, Type II, lepton-specific and flipped) without tree level flavor-changing neutral currents are discussed. Updates for the case in which the charged Higgs is lighter than the top, leading to production in top decays, are presented along with expectations for the future. If the charged Higgs is heavier than the top quark, detection may be possible through the tau-nu decay mode. In addition, it is pointed out that the decay of the charged Higgs into …
We analyze constraints on the parameters of the R-parity violating supersymmetry which can be extracted from non-observation of the neutrinoless nuclear double beta decay ($0νββ$) at a given half-life lower bound. Our analysis covers a large class of phenomenologically viable R-parity violating SUSY models. We introduce special characteristics: the SUSY sensitivity of a $ββ$ decaying isotope and the SUSY reach of a $0νββ$ experiment. The former provides a physical criterion for a selection of the most promising isotopes for SUSY searches and the latter gives a measure of success for a $0νββ$ e…
Discussions are underway for a high-energy proton-proton collider. Two preliminary ideas are the $\sqrt{s}=33$ TeV HE-LHC and the $\sqrt{s}=100$ TeV VLHC. With Bayesian statistics, we calculate the probabilities that the LHC, HE-LHC and VLHC discover SUSY in the future, assuming that nature is described by the CMSSM and given the experimental data from the LHC, LUX and Planck. We find that the LHC with $300$/fb at $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV has a $15$-$75%$ probability of discovering SUSY. Should that run fail to discover SUSY, the probability of discovering SUSY with $3000$/fb is merely $1$-$10%$. Wer…
We examine production and decay of heavy neutral SUSY Higgs bosons pp-> H,\ A -> τ\barτ within the hMSSM and compare against a perhaps more plausible natural supersymmetry scenario dubbed m_h^{125}({\rm nat}) which allows for a natural explanation for m_{weak}\simeq m_{W,Z,h}\sim 100 GeV while maintaining m_h\simeq 125 GeV. We evaluate signal against various Standard Model backgrounds from γ,Z ->τ\barτ, t\bar{t} and vector boson pair production VV. We combine the transverse mass method for back-to-back (BtB) taus along with the ditau mass peak m_{ττ} method for acollinear taus as our signal ch…
In the post-LHC8 world-- where a Standard Model-like Higgs boson has been established but there is no sign of supersymmetry (SUSY)-- the detailed profiling of the Higgs boson properties has emerged as an important road towards discovery of new physics. We present calculations of the expected deviations in Higgs boson couplings $κ_{τ,b}$, $κ_t$, $κ_{W,Z}$, $κ_g$ and $κ_γ$ versus the naturalness measure $Δ_{\rm EW}$. Low values of $Δ_{\rm EW}\sim 10-30$ give rise to a natural Little Hierarchy characterized by light higgsinos with a mass of $μ\sim m_Z$ while top squarks are highly mixed but lie i…
We perform a study of the impact of the recently released limits on BR(Bs -> mu+ mu-) by LHCb and CMS on several SUSY models. We show that the obtained constraints can be superior to those which are derived from direct searches for SUSY particles in some scenarios, and the use of a double ratio of purely leptonic decays involving Bs -> mu+ mu- can further strengthen such constraints. We also discuss the experimental sensitivity and prospects for observation of Bs -> mu+ mu- during the sqrt(s)=7 TeV run of the LHC, and its potential implications.
The ATLAS and CMS experiments will take first data soon. I consider here the prospects for new physics (excluding SUSY) with a few inverse fb of data. This means processes with signal cross sections of a few 100 fb or less, with clear and fairly simple signatures - precision comparison of data to Standard Model tails will take longer, needing more luminosity and very good understanding of detector calibrations, resolutions and trigger efficiencies. The approach I take here is signature rather than model based, but examples of models will be given.
We explore supersymmetry (SUSY) parameter space with non-universal high scale parameters in gravity mediated SUSY breaking (SUGRA) scenario that accommodates a Higgs mass of (125$\pm$2) GeV while satisfying cold dark matter relic density and other low energy constraints. We indicate a few benchmark points consistent with different dark matter annihilation processes where third family squarks are lighter than the first two as a requirement to keep the Higgs mass within the limit. We show that bottom rich and leptonic final states have better reach in such parameter space points and is the most …
Applying realistic veto efficiencies for the low angle electromagnetic calorimeter located in the very forward direction of the future international linear collider, we revisited the Standard Model background contributions studied previously in stau analyses with supersymmetrical dark matter scenarios.
We perform an investigation of the MSSM parameter space at the Fermi scale taking into account available accelerator, non-accelerator and cosmological constraints. Extra assumptions about upper bounds for some of the SUSY particles are also imposed. We show that a non-observation of the SUSY dark matter candidates with a high-accuracy dark matter detector, such as Ge-73, under above-mentioned assumptions can exclude large domains of the MSSM parameter space and, for instance, can make especially desirable collider search for light SUSY charged Higgs boson.
I discuss the construction of Simplified Models for Dark Matter searches at the LHC. After reviewing the phylosophy and some simple example, I turn the attention to the aspect of the theoretical consistency of these models.
We discuss CP violation in the context of the minimal SUSY extension of the standard model as well as in a generic low-energy SUSY model. After analyzing the SUSY contributions to the observed CP violation in the kaon system, we emphasize the prospects for disentangling SUSY loop contributions from pure SM effects in B physics.
We investigate the phenomenological consequences of string models wherein the MSSM resides on a D-brane, and the hypercharge gaugino mass is generated in a geometrically separated hidden sector. This hypercharged anomaly-mediated SUSY breaking (HCAMSB) model naturally solves the tachyonic slepton mass problem endemic to pure AMSB scenarios. In HCAMSB, one obtains a mass ordering M_1>μ>M_2 with split left- and right- scalars, whereas in mAMSB models, one obtains μ>M_1>M_2 with nearly degenerate left- and right-scalars. We compute the allowed parameter space and expected superparticle mass spect…
One of the key motivations for supersymmetry is that it provides a natural candidate for dark matter. For a long time the density of this candidate particle fell within cosmological bounds across much of the SUSY parameter space. However with the precision results of WMAP, it has become apparent that the majority of the SUSY parameter space no longer fits the observed relic density. This has given rise to claims that supersymmetry no longer provides a natural explanation of dark matter. We address this claim by quantifying the degree of fine-tuning required for the different dark matter region…
We review the phenomenology of SUSY dark matter in various versions of MSSM, with universal and nonuniversal gaugino masses at the GUT scale. We start with the universal case (CMSSM), where the cosmologically compatible dark matter relic density is achieved only over some narrow regions of parameter space, involving some fine-tuning. Moreover, most of these regions are seriously challenged by the constraints from collider and direct dark matter detection experiments. Then we consider some simple and predictive nonuniversal gaugino mass models, based on SU(5) GUT. Several of these models offer …
The Split SUSY scenario with light Higgsino states is treated as an application to the Dark Matter problem. We have considered the structure of the neutralino-nucleon interaction and calculated cross-section of the neutralino-nucleon scattering. The decay properties of the lightest chargino and next lightest neutralino are analyzed in details.
This talk presents the detection issues for the lightest slepton \tildeτ_1 at a future e+e- TeV collider given the dark matter constraints set on the SUSY mass spectrum by the WMAP results. Two methods for measuring its mass m_{\tildeτ_1} and the resulting precision on the dark matter density are briefly discussed in the SUSY mSUGRA scenario with R-parity conservation when the mass difference between m_{\tildeτ_1} and that of the lightest neutralino is small (a few GeV). The analysis is performed with TESLA parameters in both head-on and crossing angle modes.
Under the expectation that nature is natural, we extend the Standard Model to include SUSY to stabilize the electroweak sector and PQ symmetry to stabilize the QCD sector. Then natural SUSY arises from a Kim-Nilles solution to the SUSY mu problem which allows for a little hierarchy where mu ~ f_a^2/M_P ~ 100-300 GeV while the SUSY particle mass scale m(SUSY)~ 1-10 TeV >> mu. Dark matter then consists of two particles: a higgsino-like WIMP and a SUSY DFSZ axion. The range of allowed axion mass values m(axion) depends on the mixed axion-higgsino relic density. The range of m(axion) is actually r…
Given the recent progress in dark matter direction detection experiments, we examine a light bino-higgsino dark matter (DM) scenario ($M_1<100$ GeV and $μ<300$ GeV) in natural supersymmetry with the electroweak fine tuning measure $Δ_{EW}<30$. By imposing various constraints, we note that: (i) For $sign(μ/M_1)=+1$, the parameter space allowed by the DM relic density and collider bounds can almost be excluded by the very recent spin-independent (SI) scattering cross section limits from the XENON1T (2017) experiment. (ii) For $sign(μ/M_1)=-1$, the SI limits can be evaded due to the cancelation e…
We present full QCD and SUSY-QCD corrections to neutralino pair annihilation into quark-antiquark pairs. We show results and numerically evaluate their impact on the neutralino annihilation cross section and the relic density in scenarios with non-universal gaugino masses. By comparing to the relic density obtained from a pure leading order calculation, we demonstrate that the corrections strongly influence the extraction of SUSY mass parameters from cosmological data.
We propose an extended version of the gauge-mediated SUSY breaking models where extra $SU(2)_L$ doublets and singlet field are introduced. These fields are assumed to be parity-odd under an additional matter parity. In this model, the lightest parity-odd particle among them would be dark matter in the Universe. In this paper, we discuss direct detection of the dark matter and the collider signatures of the model
We consider neutralino dark matter within the framework of SUSY GUTs with non-universal gaugino masses. In particular we focus on the case of SU(5) with a SUSY breaking F-term in the 1, 24, 75 and 200 dimensional representations. We discuss the 24 case in some detail, and show that the bulk dark matter region cannot be accessed. We then go on to consider the admixture of the singlet SUSY breaking F-term with one of the 24, 75 or 200 dimensional F-terms, and show that in these cases it becomes possible to access the bulk regions corresponding to low fine-tuned dark matter. Our results are prese…
We investigate the dark matter constraints for the nonminimal SUSY standard model (NMSSM). The cosmologically restricted mass spectra of the NMSSM are compared to the minimal SUSY standard model (MSSM). The differences of the two models concerning the neutralino, sfermion and Higgs sector are discussed. The dark matter condition leads to cosmologically allowed mass ranges for the SUSY particles in the NMSSM: m_{\tildeχ^0_1} < 300 GeV, m_{\tilde{e}_R} < 300 GeV, 300 GeV < m_{\tilde{u}_R} < 1900 GeV, 200 GeV < m_{\tilde{t}_1} < 1500 GeV, 350 GeV < m_{\tilde{g}} < 2100 GeV and for the mass of the…
In this talk I review the motivations for physics beyond the Standard Model at the TeV scale and the prospects for their detection in the second Run of LHC. Then I focus in the supersymmetric case, paying special attention to the formulation and implications of the Natural SUSY scenario.
We present a preliminary study on the possibility to search for massive long-lived electrically charged particles at the MoEDAL detector. MoEDAL is sensitive to highly ionising objects such as magnetic monopoles or massive (meta-)stable electrically charged particles and we focus on the latter in this paper. Requirements on triggering or reducing the cosmic-ray and cavern background, applied in the ATLAS and CMS analyses for long-lived particles, are not necessary at MoEDAL, due to its completely different detector design and extremely low background. On the other hand, MoEDAL requires slow-mo…
The requirement of t-b-τYukawa coupling unification is common in simple grand unified models based on the gauge group SO(10), and it also places a severe constraint on the expected spectrum of superpartners. For Yukawa-unified models with μ>0, the spectrum is characterized by three mass scales: {\it i}). first and second generation scalars in the multi-TeV range, {\it ii}). third generation scalars, μand m_A in the few-TeV range and {\it iii}). gluinos in the \sim 350-500 GeV range with chargino masses around 100-160 GeV. In such a scenario, gluino pair production should occur at large rates a…
We investigate the prospects for the discovery of a neutral Higgs boson produced in association with a $b$ quark, followed by the Higgs decay into a pair of bottom quarks, $pp \to bϕ^0 \to b b\bar{b} +X$, at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) within the framework of unified supersymmetric models. The Higgs boson $ϕ^0$ can be a heavy scalar $H^0$ or a pseudoscalar $A^0$. Furthermore, this direct discovery channel is compared with the indirect Higgs searches in the rare decay $B_s \to μ^+μ^-$ at hadron colliders. Promising results are found for the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) model, the anom…
We present a complete calculation of the QCD and SUSY-QCD corrections to neutralino pair annihilation into bottom quark-antiquark pairs through exchange of a pseudoscalar Higgs boson, which is the dominant process in the cosmological A-funnel region of the mSUGRA model. We present numerical predictions for the annihilation cross section and discuss the influence of the correction terms on the cold dark matter relic density with respect to recent cosmological data.
A brief review of non-universalities in the soft SUSY breaking sector of supergravity grand unification is given. The effects of these non-universalities on the analysis of event rates in neutralino nucleus scattering are discussed. An analysis is also given of the implications of the simultaneous imposition of proton stability and dark matter constraints. One finds that these constraints put an upper limit on the gluino mass.
The lightest superparticle in the MSSM is expected to be a Bino, Higgsino or Wino. We consider the dark matter abundance constraint on these LSP scenarios in the minimal SUGRA and AMSB models. We discuss the resulting collider signals for the Bino LSP at LHC and the Higgsino and Wino LSP at CLIC. The Bino, Higgsino and Wino LSP signals in dark matter experiments are also discussed briefly. We conclude with a discussion of these LSP scenarios in nonminimal SUSY models.
After a brief review of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) and specifically the Minimal Supergravity Model (SUGRA), the prospects for discovering and studying SUSY at the CERN Large Hadron Collider are reviewed. The possible role for a future Lepton Collider --- whether $μ^+μ^-$ or $e^+e^-$ --- is also discussed.
If the energy density of the Universe before nucleosynthesis is dominated by a scalar field $ϕ$ that decays and reheats the plasma to a low reheating temperature $T_{RH}$, neutralinos may be warm dark matter particles. We study this possibility and derive the conditions on the production mechanism and on the supersymmetric spectrum for which it is viable. Large values of the $μ$ parameter and of the slepton masses are characteristic features of these models. We compute the expected direct detection cross sections and point out that Split-SUSY provides a natural framework for neutralino warm da…
Weak scale supersymmetry is a highly motivated extension of the Standard Model that has a strong degree of support from data. It provides several viable dark matter candidates: the lightest neutralino (a WIMP), the gravitino, and the axion/axino supermultiplet. The LHC turn-on is imminent. The discovery of supersymmetry at the LHC will go a long way towards establishing the nature of dark matter. I present arguments why mainly axion cold dark matter is a better fit for supersymmetric models than neutralinos. I also argue that Yukawa-unified SUSY GUT theories based on SO(10) with mixed axion/ax…
We determine the allowed parameter space and the particle spectra of the minimal SUSY standard model (MSSM) and nonminimal SUSY standard model (NMSSM) imposing correct electroweak gauge-symmetry breaking and recent experimental constraints. The parameters of the models are evolved with the SUSY RGEs assuming universality at the GUT scale. Applying the new unbounded from below (UFB) constraints we can exclude the LSP singlinos and light scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs singlets of the NMSSM. This exclusion removes the experimental possibility to distinguish between the MSSM and NMSSM via the recen…
We discuss first a method of measuring $τ$ polarisation at the ILC using the 1--prong hadronic decays of the $τ$. We then show in this contribution how a study of the $\tilde τ$ sector and particularly use of decay $τ$ polarisation can offer a very good handle for distinguishing between mSUGRA and a SUSY-GUT scenario, both of which can give rise to appropriate Dark Matter.
We describe in detail our calculation of the full supersymmetric (SUSY) QCD corrections to neutralino annihilation into heavy quarks and extend our numerical analysis of the resulting dark matter relic density to scenarios without scalar or gaugino mass unification. In these scenarios, the final state is often composed of top quarks and the annihilation proceeds through Z^0-boson or scalar top-quark exchanges. The impact of the corrections is again shown to be sizable, so that they must be taken into account systematically in global analyses of the supersymmetry parameter space.
The lack of a new physics signal thus far at the Large Hadron Collider motivates us to consider how to look for challenging final states, with large Standard Model backgrounds and subtle kinematic features, such as cascade decays with compressed spectra. Adopting a benchmark SUSY-like decay topology with a four-body final state proceeding through a sequence of two-body decays via intermediate resonances, we focus our attention on the kinematic variable $Δ_{4}$ which previously has been used to parameterize the boundary of the allowed four-body phase space. We highlight the advantages of using …
We study the direct detection rate for SUSY cold dark matter (CDM) predicted by the minimal supersymmetric standard model with universal boundary conditions and large values for tan(beta). The relic abundance of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), assumed to be approximately a bino, is obtained by including its coannihilations with the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP), which is the lightest s-tau. The cosmological constraint on this quantity severely limits the allowed SUSY parameter space, especially in the case the CP-even Higgs has mass of around 114 GeV. We find that…
The recent WMAP data have confirmed that exotic dark matter together with the vacuum energy (cosmological constant) dominate in the flat Universe. Thus the direct dark matter detection, consisting of detecting the recoiling nucleus, is central to particle physics and cosmology. Supersymmetry provides a natural dark matter candidate, the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). The relevant cross sections arise out of two mechanisms: i) The coherent mode, due to the scalar interaction and ii) The spin contribution arising from the axial current. In this paper we will focus on the spin contributi…
In this talk we investigate the dark matter prospects for supersymmetric models with non-universal gaugino masses. We motivate the use of non-universal gaugino masses from several directions, including problems with the current favorite scenario, the cMSSM. We then display new corridors of parameter space that allow an acceptable dark matter relic density once gaugino mass universality is relaxed. We finish with a specific string-derived model that allows this universality relaxation and then use the dark matter constraint to make specific statements about the hidden sector of the model.
In this talk we will discuss how inflation can be embedded within a minimal extension of the Standard Model where the inflaton carries the Standard Model charges. There is no need of an ad-hoc scalar field to be introduced in order to explain the temperature anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background radiation, all the ingredients are present within a minimal supersymmetric Standard Model. For the first time inflaton properties can be directly linked to the particle phenomenology, dark matter, and the baryons of the Standard Model.
Natural SUSY scenarios with a low value of the $μ$ parameter, are characterised by a higgsino-like dark matter candidate, and a compressed spectrum for the lightest higgsinos. We explore the prospects for probing this scenario at the 13 TeV stage of the LHC via monojet searches, with various integrated luminosity options, and demonstrate how these results are affect by different assumptions on the achievable level of control on the experimental systematic uncertainties. The complementarity between collider and direct detection experiments (present and future) is also highlighted.
This paper presents the detection issues for the lightest slepton \tildeτ_1 at a future e^+e^- TeV collider given the dark matter constraints set on the SUSY mass spectrum by the WMAP results. It intends to illustrate the importance of an optimal detection of energetic electrons in the very forward region for an efficient rejection of the γγbackground. The TESLA parameters have been used in the case of head-on collisions and in the case of a 10, mrad half crossing angle.
We examine dark matter production rates in supersymmetric axion models typified by the mass hierarchy m_gravitino << m_neutralino << m_axino. In such models, one expects the dark matter to be composed of an axion/gravitino admixture. After presenting motivation for how such a mass hierarchy might arise, we examine dark matter production in the SUSY Kim-Shifman-Vainshtein-Zakharov (KSVZ) model, the SUSY Dine-Fischler-Srednicki-Zhitnitsky (DFSZ) model and a hybrid model containing contributions from both KSVZ and DFSZ. Gravitinos can be produced thermally and also non-thermally from axino, saxio…
In this paper, six SUSY scenarios with heavy sfermions, mainly based on theoretical arguments and on experimental indications for new physics, are defined. These scenarios, consistent with the amount of dark matter (DM) measured by WMAP, are then analysed in detail providing pertinent examples of the potential of ILC. It is shown that in most cases ILC, with its high precision based on the chargino analysis and in spite of an incomplete coverage of the gaugino and slepton mass spectrum, can predict the amount of DM in our universe with an accuracy which matches the WMAP results.
One can expect accessible lower bounds for dark matter detection rate due to restrictions on masses of the SUSY-partners. To explore this correlation one needs a new-generation large-mass detector. The absolute lower bound for detection rate can naturally be due to spin-dependent interaction. Aimed at detecting dark matter with sensitivity higher than $10^{-5}$ event/day/kg an experiment should have a non-zero-spin target. Perhaps, the best is to create a GENIUS-like detector with both Ge-73 (high spin) and Ge-76 nuclei.
We discuss the effect of the supersymmetry breaking on the Mass Varying Neutrinos(MaVaNs) scenario. Especially, the effect mediated by the gravitational interaction between the hidden sector and the dark energy sector is studied. A model including a chiral superfield in the dark sector and the right-handed neutrino superfield is proposed. Evolutions of the neutrino mass and the equation of state parameter are presented in the model.
Motivated by recent progress in experimental techniques of electric dipole moment (EDM) measurements, we study correlations between the neutron and electron EDMs in common supersymmetric models. These include minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) with small CP phases, mSUGRA with a heavy SUSY spectrum, the decoupling scenario and split SUSY. In most cases, the electron and neutron EDMs are found to be observable in the next round of EDM experiments. They exhibit certain correlation patterns. For example, if d_n ~ 10^{-27} e cm is found, d_e is predicted to lie in the range 10^{-28}-10^{-29} e cm.
Within the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), we explore a decoupling of the parameters into separate sectors that determine consistency with collider data, the abundance of dark matter, and potential signatures at direct dark matter searches. We consider weak-scale bino-like neutralino dark matter, and find that annihilations via light slepton exchange present a viable mechanism for obtaining the appropriate dark matter abundance assuming a thermal history. Constraints and prospects for discovery of these models are discussed, including the possibility that direct …
In the event that R-Parity conserving supersymmetry (SUSY) is discovered at the LHC, a key issue which will need to be addressed will be the consistency of that signal with astrophysical and non-accelerator constraints on SUSY Dark Matter. This issue is studied for the SPS1a mSUGRA benchmark model by using measurements of end-points and thresholds in the invariant mass spectra of various combinations of leptons and jets in ATLAS to constrain the model parameters. These constraints are then used to assess the statistical accuracy with which quantities such as the Dark Matter relic density and d…
The connection between the present density of neutralinos that are left over from the Big Bang and the superparticle mass scale is briefly reviewed. Superparticle mass scales in the range from a few GeV to several TeV can lead to an acceptable density of thermal relic neutralinos, the actual value depending on relations between the masses of certain sparticles and Higgs bosons.
The ability of the LHC to make statements about the dark matter problem is considered, with a specific focus on supersymmetry. After reviewing the current strategies for supersymmetry searches at the LHC (in both CMS and ATLAS), some key ATLAS studies are used to demonstrate how one could establish that SUSY exists before going on to measure the relic density of a neutralino WIMP candidate. Finally, the general prospects for success at the LHC are investigated by looking at different points in the MSSM parameter space.
Supersymmetric left-right models are well motivated extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model since they automatically contain the ingredients to explain the observed neutrino masses and mixings. Here we study a SUSY model in which the left-right symmetry is broken by triplets at a high scale leading to automatic R-parity conservation at low energies. The sparticle spectra in this model differ from the usual constrained MSSM expectations and these changes affect the relic abundance of the lightest neutralino. We discuss two examples: (1) the standard stau co-annihilation region, …
In the Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model with minimal particle content the three neutrinos can have non trivial masses and mixings, generated at 1 loop due to renormalizable lepton number violating interactions. We show that the resulting mass matrix can provide simultaneously a significant amount of the Dark Matter of the Universe and solve the solar neutrino problem, if the free parameters of the model are fixed to values which are consistent with all the present accelerator and cosmological constraints. The theory also predicts new effects in future experiments looking for neut…
We consider explicit models of dynamical supersymmetry breaking where dark matter is a 10 -- 100 TeV strongly-interacting composite state carrying no standard model quantum numbers. These constructions are simple variants of well-known supersymmetry breaking mechanisms, augmented to allow for a large "flavor" symmetry. Dark matter is the lightest composite modulus charged under this symmetry and is a viable cold dark matter candidate with a thermal relic abundance. This is an attractive possibility in low-scale gauge-mediated scenarios where the gravitino is the lightest superparticle. A light…
