The precise measurement of the top-quark mass constitutes one of the main goals of the LHC top-quark physics program. One possibility to extract this parameter uses the $ρ_{\mathrm{s}}$ distribution, which depends on the invariant mass of the $t\bar{t}j$ system. To fully take advantage of the experimental accuracy achievable in measuring top quark production cross sections at the LHC, the theory uncertainties need to be well under control. We present a study of the effect of varying the input parameters of the theoretical calculation on the predicted $ρ_{\mathrm{s}}$ distribution. Thereby we studied the influence of the $R$ parameter in the jet reconstruction procedure, as well as the effect of various renormalization and factorization scale definitions and different PDF sets. A behaviour similar to the one presented here for the $ρ_{\mathrm{s}}$-distribution was also found for other differential distributions.
Two theoretical descriptions of exclusive diffractive jets and Higgs production at the LHC were implemented into the FPMC generator: the Khoze, Martin, Ryskin model and the Cudell, Hernández, Ivanov, Dechambre exclusive model. We then study the uncertainties. We compare their predictions to the CDF measurement and discuss the possibility of constraining the exclusive Higgs production at the LHC with early measurements of exclusive jets. We show that the present theoretical uncertainties can be reduced with such data by a factor of 5.
We present updated nCTEQ nuclear parton distribution functions with errors including pion production data from RHIC. We compare them with the results of other groups and present selected LHC applications.
We study uncertainties of the predicted inclusive Higgs production cross section due to the uncertainties of parton distribution functions (PDF). Particular attention is given to bbH Yukawa coupling enhanced production mechanisms in beyond SM scenarios, such as MSSM. The PDF uncertainties are determined by the robust Lagrange Multiplier method within the CTEQ global analysis framework. We show that PDF uncertainties dominate over theoretical uncertainties of the perturbative calculation (usually estimated by the scale dependence of the calculated cross sections), except for low Higgs masses at…
We present predictions for relevant LHC observables obtained with the NNPDF2.0 set. We compute the combined PDFs uncertainties on these observables, and show that combining errors in quadrature yields an excellent approximation to exact error propagation. We then compare the NNPDF2.0 results to the other global PDF fits using a common value of $α_s$. At LHC 7 TeV, reasonable agreement, both in central values and in uncertainties, is found for NNPDF2.0, CTEQ6.6 and MSTW08.
The experimental errors in current and future hadron colliders are expected to decrease to a level that will challenge the uncertainties in the theoretical calculations. One important component in the prediction uncertainties comes from the Parton Density Functions of the (anti)proton. In this work we develop an interface from the Les Houches Accord Parton Density Functions (LHAPDF) package to the very popular Monte Carlo generator {\tt PYTHIA} version 6.2. Then we proceed to estimate the PDF uncertainties for the production of Drell-Yan pairs from the Z pole to masses above 1 $\TeV$ and for H…
In this contribution we discuss the impact of PDF uncertainties on t\bar{t} and t-channel single-top production at the LHC. We present predictions for total cross-sections computed at NLO accuracy with different PDF sets. For single- top production, we point out that the uncertainty arising from the choice of the bottom quark mass is one of the dominant theoretical uncertainties on the total cross-section. Finally, the possibility of using PDF induced correlations between top quark and electroweak vector boson production cross-sections to improve the accuracy of LHC measurements is investigate…
Present status of experimental studies of inelastic diffraction at the Large Hadron Collider is analysed. Impact of the current uncertainties concerning the diffraction rate on the predicted extensive air shower development is investigated. Relation to studies of the primary composition of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays is illustrated by comparing numerical simulation results to the data of the Telescope Array experiment on the distributions of the shower maximum position.
The LHC data will provide sensitivity to an unification of the couplings at low energies in the range $\sim$10-100 TeV. It is demonstrated in this note that the lack of knowledge on the proton structure, specifically its gluon distribution, can lower dramatically the sensitivity of bare cross section measurements to this physics. However, some more elaborated strategies could probably be developped to recover an important part of the sensitivity
The precision measurement of the W boson mass allows to perform stringent consistency tests of the Standard Model by means of global electroweak fits. The accurate determination of the W boson mass is one of the legacy results of the Tevatron, where the experimental accuracy is such that $M_W$ is now limited by theoretical uncertainties related to the parton distributions of the proton. In this contribution, we show how to quantify the impact of PDF uncertainties in the measurement of $M_W$ at the Tevatron and the LHC by means of a template method, and study both the use of the W transverse ma…
We present state-of-the-art predictions for off-shell $t\bar{t}b\bar{b}$ production with di-lepton decays at the LHC with $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV. Results are accurate at NLO in QCD and include all resonant and non-resonant diagrams, interferences and finite-width effects for top quarks and $W$ bosons. We discuss the impact of QCD corrections and assess theoretical uncertainties from scale and PDF dependence at the integrated and differential level. Additionally we investigate the size of contributions induced by initial-state $b$ quarks to the NLO cross section.
We study the sources of systematic errors in the measurement of the W to lepton and neutrino cross-sections at the LHC. We consider the systematic errors in both the total cross-section and acceptance for anticipated experimental cuts. We include the best available analysis of QCD effects at NNLO in assessing the effect of higher order corrections and PDF and scale uncertainties on the theoretical acceptance. In addition, we evaluate the error due to missing NLO electroweak corrections and propose which MC generators and computational schemes should be implemented to best simulate the events.
The MadAnalysis 5 framework can be used to assess the potential of various LHC analyses for unravelling any specific new physics signal. We present an extension of the LHC reinterpretation capabilities of the programme allowing for the inclusion of theoretical and systematical uncertainties on the signal in the reinterpretation procedure. We have implemented extra methods dedicated to the extrapolation of the impact of a given analysis to higher luminosities, including various options for the treatment of the errors. As an application, we study three classes of new physics models. We first foc…
Uncertainties on low-$x$ PDFs are crucial for the standard model benchmark processes of $W$ and $Z$ production at the LHC. The current level of PDF uncertainty is critically reviewed and the possibility of reducing this uncertainty using early LHC data is investigated taking into account realistic expectations for measurement accuracy, kinematic cuts and backgrounds.
We study the sources of systematic errors in the measurement of the Z to ll cross-sections at the LHC.
The Higgs boson with a mass $M_H \approx 126$ GeV has been observed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC and a total significance of about five standard deviations has been reported by both collaborations when the channels $H\to γγ$ and $H\to ZZ \to 4\ell$ are combined. Nevertheless, while the rates in the later search channel appear to be in accord with those predicted in the Standard Model, there seems to be an excess of data in the case of the $H\to γγ$ discovery channel. Before invoking new physics contributions to explain this excess in the di--photon Higgs rate, one should verify …
We study the simplifications occurring in any likelihood function in the presence of a large number of small systematic uncertainties. We find that the marginalisation of these uncertainties can be done analytically by means of second-order error propagation, error combination, the Lyapunov central limit theorem, and under mild approximations which are typically satisfied for LHC likelihoods. The outcomes of this analysis are i) a very light treatment of systematic uncertainties ii) a convenient way of reporting the main effects of systematic uncertainties such as the detector effects occuring…
Precision electroweak tests are a powerful probe of physics beyond the Standard Model, but the sensitivity is limited by the precision with which the $W$ boson mass ($M_W$) has been measured. The Parton Distribution Function (PDF) uncertainties are a potential limitation for measurements of $M_W$ with LHC data. It has recently been pointed out that, thanks to LHCb's unique forward rapidity acceptance, a new measurement of $M_W$ by LHCb can improve this situation. Here we report on a detailed study on the mechanism driving the PDF uncertainty in the LHCb measurement of $M_W$, and propose an app…
Main theoretical uncertainties in estimating the indirect production of $(b\bar{c})$-quarkonium ($B^-_c$ meson and its excited states) via top quark decays, $t\to (b\bar{c})+c+W^{+}$, are studied within the non-relativistic QCD framework. It is found that the dimensionless reduced decay width for a particular $(b\bar{c})$-quarkonium state, $\barΓ_{n}=Γ_{n} /Γ_{t\to W^{+}+b}$, is very sensitive to the $c$-quark mass, while the uncertainties from the $b$-quark and $t$-quark masses are small, where $n$ stands for the eight $(b\bar{c})$-quarkonium states up to ${\cal O}(v^4)$: $|(b\bar{c})(^1S_0)_…
We resum a class of large Sudakov logarithms affecting Higgs boson production in the exclusive one-jet bin at the LHC. We extend previous results by calculating the full one-loop soft function for this process, which extends the accuracy of the resummation to include the leading three logarithmic corrections at each order in the QCD coupling constant. We match this result to the next-to-leading order cross section and present a detailed numerical study assuming realistic LHC cuts. Careful attention is paid to the matching procedure, and to the theoretical uncertainties induced by residual scal…
We review several most recent prompt-photon measurements at HERA and the Tevatron and discuss their implication for future measurements at the LHC. A comparison to Monte Carlo models, as well as to NLO QCD predictions based on the standard DGLAP and the kT-factorization approaches is discussed. Effects from renormalization and factorization scale uncertainties, as well as uncertainties on the gluon density distribution inside a proton are discussed.
I consider the effects of including a variety of new LHC data sets into the MMHT approach for PDF determination. I consider the impact of fitting new LHC and Tevatron data, which leads to clear improvements in some PDF uncertainties. There are specific issues with ATLAS 7 TeV jet data and I include a discussion of the treatment of correlated uncertainties and briefly the effects of NNLO corrections. I also present preliminary results with the inclusion of the high precison final ATLAS 7 TeV $W,Z$ rapidity-dependent data.
We study nuclear effects of charged current deep inelastic neutrino-iron scattering in the framework of a chi^2 analysis of parton distribution functions (PDFs). We extract a set of iron PDFs which are used to compute x_Bj-dependent and Q^2-dependent nuclear correction factors for iron structure functions which are required in global analyses of free nucleon PDFs. We compare our results with nuclear correction factors from neutrino-nucleus scattering models and correction factors for charged lepton-iron scattering. We find that, except for very high x_Bj, our correction factors differ in both …
Standard Model $ZZ$ production is an important background for many searches at the LHC, especially in final states with missing transverse momentum. In this article, boson substitution is applied to estimate $ZZ \rightarrow \ell^+ \ell^- ν\barν$ yields from $Zγ\rightarrow \ell^+ \ell^- γ$ events. The cross-section ratio of the two processes and its uncertainties are evaluated at NNLO with the MATRIX generator as a function of the transverse momentum of the substituted boson. Uncertainties due to higher-order QCD corrections, parton distribution functions, photon isolation criteria, and electro…
We review the status of the QCD corrected cross sections and kinematic distributions for the production of a Higgs boson in association with top quark or bottom quark pairs at the Fermilab Tevatron and at the LHC. Results for b-bbar-H production are presented in the Minimal Supersymmetric Model, where the rates can be greatly enhanced relative to the Standard Model rates. We place particular emphasis on theoretical uncertainties due to renormalization and factorization scale dependence and on the uncertainties coming from the Parton Distribution Functions.
Strong interaction physics will be ubiquitous at the Large Hadron Collider since the colliding beams consist of confined quarks and gluons. Although the main purpose of the LHC is to study the mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking and to search for physics beyond the Standard Model, to maximise the precision and sensitivity of such anaylses it is necessary to understand in detail various perturbative, semi-perturbative and non-perturbative QCD effects. Many of these effects have been extensively studied at HERA and will be studied further at HERA II. We discuss the impact of the knowledge…
The precision measurement of the W boson mass is an important milestone for the LHC physics program in the coming years. An accurate measurement of $M_W$ allows to perform stringent consistency tests of the Standard Model by means of global electroweak fits, which in turn are sensitive to New Physics at scales potentially higher than the ones explored in direct searches. From the theoretical point of view, our limited knowledge of PDFs will be one of the dominant sources of uncertainty in ongoing and future LHC determinations of $M_W$. In this whitepaper, we have quantified the impact of PDF u…
The charge asymmetry in W + jets production at the LHC can serve to calibrate the presence of New Physics contributions. We study the ratio σ(W^+ + n jets)/σ(W^- + n jets) in the Standard Model for n <= 4, paying particular attention to the uncertainty in the prediction from higher-order perturbative corrections and uncertainties in parton distribution functions. We show that these uncertainties are generally of order a few percent, making the experimental measurement of the charge asymmetry ratio a particularly useful diagnostic tool for New Physics contributions.
The uncertainties in estimating the hadronic production of the $B_c$ meson are studied under the framework of the complete $α_s^4$ approach of the perturbative QCD and the gluon-gluon fusion mechanism. Quantitative comparisons on the production at TEVATRON and LHC are made. Considering the detectors at TEVATRON and LHC, we have also estimated the production with proper kinematic cuts. Based on the results, we conclude that the experimental studies of the $B_c$ meson at the two colliders will be complimentary and stimulative. We find that as c.m. energy is increasing from RUN-I to RUN-II at TEV…
A major focus at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will be Higgs boson studies and it would be an interesting prospect to simultaneously probe for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) in the Higgs signals. In this work we show as to what extent, the effects of Universal Extra Dimension (UED) can be isolated at the LHC through the Higgs signals. By doing a detailed study of the different uncertainties involved in the measurement of the rates for the process pp --> h --> gamma gamma we estimate the extent to which these uncertainties can mask the effects of the contributions coming from UED.
We propose to extract the electric and weak dipole moments of the top quark via $t\bar tγ$ and $t\bar t Z$ productions at the CERN LHC. With the large numbers of events available at the LHC, these dipole moments can be measured to the accuracy of $10^{-18}e cm$.
W and Z bosons will be produced copiously at the LHC proton-proton collider. We study the parton distribution dependence of the total production cross sections and rapidity distributions, paying particular attention to the uncertainties arising from uncertainties in the parton distributions themselves. Variations in the gluon, the strong coupling, the sea quarks and the overall normalisation are shown to lead to small but non-negligible variations in the cross section predictions. Ultimately, therefore, the measurement of these cross sections will provide a powerful cross check on our knowledg…
Precision determinations of Standard Model (SM) Electro-Weak (EW) parameters at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are dominated by uncertainties due to Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs). Reweighting and profiling techniques are routinely employed to treat this. We explore approaches based on combining measurements of charged current and neutral current Drell-Yan (DY) asymmetries to improve PDF uncertainties. We present the results of a numerical analysis performed with the open-source platform xFitter. PDF uncertainties are examined for lepton-charge and forward-backward asymmetries in region…
The theoretical analysis of production, lifetime, and decays of doubly heavy baryons is presented. The lifetime of $Ξ_{cc}^{++}$ baryon recently measured by the LHCb Collaboration is used to estimate the lifetimes of other doubly heavy baryons. The production and the possibility of observation of $Ξ_{bc}$ baryon at LHC are discussed.
We study the case of a di-bottomonium $bb\bar b\bar b$ particle at the LHC. Its mass and decay width are obtained within a new model of diquark-antidiquark interactions in tetraquarks. The same model solves several open problems on the phenomenology of the experimentally better known $X,Z$ states. We show that the $bb\bar b\bar b$ tetraquark is expected approximately 100 MeV below threshold, and compare to a recent analysis by LHCb seeking it in the $Υμμ$ final state.
W and Z production at the LHC occur at small Bjorken x, and are thus subject to the theoretical uncertainties of low-x physics. The implications of this for the PDF uncertainties on W and Z production are discussed, including the limitations this puts on their usefulness as luminosity monitors. The possibility of using LHC measurements to improve PDF uncertainties is discussed. Measurement of the W lepton decay spectra can improve the gluon PDFs, whereas measurement of the lepton asymmetry can give new information on valence distributions at small x.
A new generation of parton distribution functions with increased precision and quantitative estimates of uncertainties is presented. This work includes a full treatment of available experimental correlated systematic errors for both new and old data sets and a systematic and pragmatic treatment of uncertainties of the parton distributions and their physical predictions. The new gluon distribution is considerably harder than that of previous standard fits. Extensive results on the uncertainties of parton distributions at various scales, and on parton luminosity functions at the Tevatron RunII a…
We present results from a detailed assessment of the ultimate constraining power of LHC data on the PDFs that can be expected from the complete dataset, in particular after the High-Luminosity (HL) phase. To achieve this, HL-LHC pseudo-data for different projections of the experimental uncertainties are generated, and the resulting constraints on the PDF4LHC15 set are quantified by means of the Hessian profiling method. We find that HL-LHC measurements can reduce PDF uncertainties by up to a factor of 2 to 4 in comparison to state-of-the-art fits, leading to few-percent uncertainties for impor…
A thorough understanding of PDFs and their uncertainties is important for the LHC and for future collider experiments. The recently released NNPDF3.0 set was presented alongside results from closure tests, where PDF fits were performed on pseudo-data generated from a chosen input PDF set. The results there demonstrate the validity of the NNPDF methodology and also provide some information about different contributions to the PDF uncertainties. Here I present a number of additional closure test results, specifically an investigation into the effect of using cross-validation in the fits, and an …
Analysis of semi-inclusive DIS hadroproduction suggests broadening of transverse momentum distributions at small x below 1E-3 ~ 1E-2 which can be modeled in the Collins-Soper-Sterman formalism by a modification of impact parameter dependent parton densities. We investigate these consequences for the production of electroweak bosons at the Tevatron and the LHC. If substantial small-x broadening is observed in forward Z boson production in the Tevatron Run-2, it will strongly affect the predicted q_T distributions for W and Z boson production at the LHC.
We present results for the top quark pair cross section at the Tevatron and the LHC. We use the resummed double differential cross section, employing the fully kinematics-dependent soft anomalous dimension matrices, to calculate the soft-gluon contributions at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO). We improve and update our previous estimates by refining our methods, including further subleading terms, and employing the most recent parton distribution function sets. The NNLO soft corrections significantly enhance the NLO cross section while considerably reducing the scale dependence. We provide…
We perform a quantitative analysis of the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ tetraquark decays into hidden- and open-bottom mesons and calculate, for the first time, the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ tetraquark total decay width. On the basis of our results, we propose the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b} \to B^{+} B^{-} (B^0 \bar{B}^0) (B_s^0 \bar{B}_s^0) \to l^{+} l^{-}+\text{X}$ decays as the most suitable channels to observe the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ tetraquark states, since the calculated two-lepton cross section upper limit, $\simeq 39 $ fb, is so large as to be potentially detectable with the 2018 LHCb sensitivity, paving the way …
We observe that the flavour symmetries of the Standard Model gauge sector, broken as they are in the Standard Model Yukawa Lagrangian, naturally suppress baryon and lepton number violation at low energies and, simultaneously, make it accessible at the LHC through resonant processes involving at least six fermions from all three generations. We establish a model independent classification of such transitions and identify two classes that give rise to particularly clean LHC signatures, namely $\bar t μ^+ e^+$ and $\bar t \bar t$ + jets.
In this contribution we present an overview of recent results concerning the impact of a possible flavour dependence of the intrinsic quark transverse momentum on electroweak observables. In particular, we focus on the $q_T$ spectrum of electroweak gauge bosons produced in proton-proton collisions at the LHC and on the direct determination of the $W$ boson mass. We show that these effects are comparable in size to other non-perturbative effects commonly included in phenomenological analyses, and should thus be included in precise theoretical predictions for present and future hadron colliders.
Using the new schemes provided by the CTEQ and MRST collaborations and by Alekhin, we analyse the uncertainties due to the parton distribution functions (PDFs) on the next-to-leading-order cross sections of the four main production processes of the Standard Model Higgs boson at the LHC and the Tevatron. In the Higgs mass range where the production rates are large enough, the spread in the uncertainties when the three sets of PDFs are compared is of about 15% in all processes and at both colliders. However, within one given set of PDFs, the deviations from the values obtained with the reference…
We present an updated study of the systematic errors in the measurements of the electroweak boson cross-sections at the LHC for various experimental cuts for a center of mass energy of 7, 10 and 14 TeV. The size of both electroweak and NNLO QCD contributions are estimated, together with the systematic error from the parton distributions. The effects of new versions of the MSTW, CTEQ, and NNPDF PDFs are considered.
The hadronic production of $D$-wave states of $\bar b c$ is studied. The relative yield of such states is estimated for kinematic conditions of LHC experiments.
A sizable rate of events, with several pairs of $b$-quarks produced contemporarily by multiple parton interactions, may be expected at very high energies as a consequence of the large parton luminosities. The production rates are further enhanced in hadron-nucleus reactions, which may represent a convenient tool to study the phenomenon. We compare the different contributions to $b{\bar b}b{\bar b}$ production, due to single and double parton scatterings, in collisions of protons with nuclei at the CERN-LHC.
We estimate the current theoretical uncertainty in sparticle mass predictions by comparing several state-of-the-art computations within the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). We find that the theoretical uncertainty is comparable to the expected statistical errors from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), and significantly larger than those expected from a future e+e- Linear Collider (LC). We quantify the theoretical uncertainty on relevant sparticle observables for both LHC and LC, and show that the value of the error is significantly dependent upon the supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking pa…
We discuss charm production at LHC. The production of single $c \bar c$ pairs is calculated in the $k_t$-factorization approach. We use several unintegrated gluon distributions from the literature. Differential distributions for several charmed mesons are presented and compared to recent results of the ALICE and LHCb collaborations. Some missing strength can be observed. Furthermore we discuss production of two $c \bar c$ pairs within a simple formalism of double-parton scattering (DPS). Surprisingly large cross sections, comparable to single-parton scattering (SPS) contribution to $c \bar c$ …
We perform a quantitative analysis of the decays of $cc\bar c\bar c$ tetraquarks with $J^{PC}=0^{++}, 2^{++}$ into 4 muons and into hidden- and open-charm mesons and estimate, for the first time, the fully charmed tetraquark decay width. The calculated cross section upper limit is $\sim 40$ fb for the 4 muons channel, and $\sim 28$ nb for the $D^{(*)} \bar D^{(*)} \to eμ$ channel. On the basis of our results, with the present sensitivity LHCb should detect both signals, for $0^{++}$ and $2^{++}$ fully-charmed tetraquarks.
We study the possible production of the $ρ$-resonance from the Strong Electroweak Symmetry Breaking sector at LHC. Due to possibly enhanced couplings of $ρ$ to the top and bottom quarks we focus on the process pp -> b \bar{b} t \bar{t} where either b \bar{b} or t \bar{t} are the products of the $ρ$ decay.
In this paper, we study the sensitivity of the fraction of $t\bar{t}$ events arising from gluon-gluon fusion to the chromoelectric and chromomagnetic dipole moments (CEDM and CMDM) as well as the total and differential $t\bar{t}$ cross sections at the LHC and Tevatron. The sensitivity of measured charged asymmetry at the LHC to CEDM and CMDM is also studied. We find that at the Tevatron and the LHC, non-zero values of CMDM could suppress the $t\bar{t}$ production rate. It is shown that the ratio of $σ(gg\rightarrow t\bar{t})/σ(p\bar{p}\rightarrow t\bar{t})$ at the Tevatron is more sensitive to…
We study at a quantitative level the impact of the uncertainties on the value of the W boson mass measured at hadron colliders due to: the proton parton distribution functions (PDFs), the value of the strong coupling constant alpha_S and the value of the charm mass used in the PDF determination. The value of the W boson mass is extracted, by means of a template fit technique, from the lepton-pair transverse mass distribution measured in the charged current Drell-Yan process. We study the determination of M_W at the Tevatron and at the LHC with 7 and 14 TeV of center-of-mass energy in a realist…
Uncertainties on parton distribution functions (PDFs) compromise discovery at the LHC for any new physics which can be described as a contact-interaction. PDF uncertainties also limit our ability to use W and Z cross-sections as an accurate luminosity monitor. The impact of the current level of PDF uncertainty on LHC physics is reviewed and the possibility of reducing this uncertainty using LHC data is investigated.
We consider the production of the new gauge boson $Z^{}_{μτ}$ predicted by the ${U(1)}_{L^{}_μ - L^{}_τ}$ model via SM-like Higgs boson $h^{}_{1}$ decaying in the ${t}\bar{t}h^{}_{1}$ production at LHC. Considering the current constraints on the relevant free parameters, we calculate its production cross section and further investigate the possibility of detecting $Z^{}_{μτ}$ through the process $pp\to{t(\to{bjj})}\bar{t}(\to{\bar{b}l^{-}\barν_{l}})h_{1}(\to{Z_{μτ}Z_{μτ}})\to{b\bar{b}jjl^{-}\barν_{l}}+/\!\!\!\!E_{T}$ at LHC. We find that $Z^{}_{μτ}$ might be detected via this process at LHC wi…
The production of charmed and beauty baryons in proton-proton collisions at high energies is analyzed within the modified quark-gluon string model. We present some predictions for the experiments on the forward beauty baryon production in pp collisions at LHC energies. This analysis allows us to find useful information on the Regge trajectories of the heavy (b barb) mesons and the sea beauty quark distributions in the proton.
