We perform a quantitative analysis of the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ tetraquark decays into hidden- and open-bottom mesons and calculate, for the first time, the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ tetraquark total decay width. On the basis of our results, we propose the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b} \to B^{+} B^{-} (B^0 \bar{B}^0) (B_s^0 \bar{B}_s^0) \to l^{+} l^{-}+\text{X}$ decays as the most suitable channels to observe the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ tetraquark states, since the calculated two-lepton cross section upper limit, $\simeq 39 $ fb, is so large as to be potentially detectable with the 2018 LHCb sensitivity,
paving the way to the observation of the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ tetraquark in the future LHCb upgrade. The $4μ$ signal for the ground state, $J^{PC}=0^{++}$, is likely to be too small even for the upgraded LHCb, but it may not be hopeless for the $J^{PC}=2^{++}$ fully-bottom state.
We perform a quantitative analysis of the decays of $cc\bar c\bar c$ tetraquarks with $J^{PC}=0^{++}, 2^{++}$ into 4 muons and into hidden- and open-charm mesons and estimate, for the first time, the fully charmed tetraquark decay width. The calculated cross section upper limit is $\sim 40$ fb for the 4 muons channel, and $\sim 28$ nb for the $D^{(*)} \bar D^{(*)} \to eμ$ channel. On the basis of our results, with the present sensitivity LHCb should detect both signals, for $0^{++}$ and $2^{++}$ fully-charmed tetraquarks.
In the paper we discuss contribution of the doubly intrinsic heavy mechanism into the production of $B_c$ meson, the doubly heavy baryons and the all-charm tetraquark at a future fixed-target experiment at the LHC (AFTER@LHC). The production cross sections and the mean values of Feynman-x for the finale states are presented.
We discuss the interpretation of the $J\!/\!ψ\,J\!/\!ψ$ peak recently seen by the LHCb collaboration at CERN, and take the opportunity to review the experimental and theoretical state of the art for exotic hadrons. It is stressed that in constituent models, the states in the continuum require a dedicated treatment to single out resonances atop the continuum.
The article is devoted to double J/psi-meson production at LHC. Theoretical predictions for pp -> 2J/psi+X cross section at sqrt{s}=7 TeV for different kinematical restrictions are presented. Special attention is payed to possible contribution of novel particles -- tetraquarks build from four c-quarks. According to presented in our article estimates, it is quietly possible to observe at least one of these state (tensor meson) experimentally.
In the LHC collider a significant rate of events with double parton scattering is expected. This will be the leading mechanism for production of two b-bbar pairs. We estimate the probability of binding two b quarks into a diquark and the probability of dressing this diquark into a b-b-ubar-dbar ISP=01+ tetraquark. Calculations shows that that this bound state of two B mesons is stable against the strong interaction and has a life time of the order of ps. We estimate that the production rate at luminosity L=0.1 events per second will be about 6 tetraquarks per hour or more.
In this article, we study the first radial excited states of the scalar, axialvector, vector and tensor diquark-antidiquark type $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ tetraquark states with the QCD sum rules and obtain the masses and pole residues, then we use the Regge trajectory to obtain the masses of the second radial excited states. The predicted masses support assigning the broad structure from 6.2 to 6.8 GeV in the di-$J/ψ$ mass spectrum to be the first radial excited state of the scalar, axialvector, vector or tensor $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ tetraquark state, and assigning the narrow structure at about 6.9 GeV…
Inspired by the observation of the fully-charm tetraquark $X(6900)$ state at LHCb, the production of $X(6900)$ in $\bar{p}p\rightarrow J/ψJ/ψ$ reaction is studied within an effective Lagrangian approach and Breit-Wigner formula. The numerical results show that the cross section of $X(6900)$ at the c.m. energy of 6.9 GeV is much larger than that from the background contribution. Moreover, we estimate dozens of signal events can be detected by D0 experiment, which indicates that searching for the $X(6900)$ via antiproton-proton scattering may be a very important and promising way. Therefore, rel…
The high prompt production cross section of X(3872) at hadron colliders has shown to be very informative about the quark nature of the X, Y, Z states. We present here a number of results on X production in pp(pbar) collisions obtained with Monte Carlo hadronization methods and illustrate what can be learned from their use to improve our understanding of exotic states. In particular, a comparison between antideuteron and X production cross sections is proposed. Hadronization might be the key to solve the problem of the extra states expected in diquark-antidiquark models which are naturally favo…
We describe a heavy and exotic tetraquark state as a holographic molecule, by binding the lightest heavy-light meson $(0^-, 1^-)$ multiplet to a flavored sphaleron, in the bulk of the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model. Bound tetraquark states emerge as Efimov states in the heavy quark limit, with a binding energy for charm tetraquark comparable to the $T_{cc}^+$ recently reported by the LHCb, but a substantially smaller width, for a large but finite $^\prime$t Hooft coupling. Fixing the parameters of the model at the empirical mass of $T_{cc}^+$ allows us to predict the bindings of the undiscovered …
The feasibility of tetraquark detection is studied. For the cc\bar{u}\bar{d} tetraquark we show that in present (SELEX, Tevatron, RHIC) and future facilities (LHCb, ALICE) the production rate is promising and we propose some detectable decay channels.
We analyse the deuteron-like $T^+_{cc}$ state observed by the LHCb Collaboration from the perspective of the quark clustering. The $T^+_{cc}$ state implies the possible existence of other compact doubly heavy tetraquark states.
There has been much theoretical speculation about the existence of a deeply bounded tetra-bottom state. Such a state would not be expected to be more than a GeV below $ΥΥ$ threshold. If such a state exists below the $η_bη_b$ threshold it would be narrow, as Zweig allowed strong decays are kinematically forbidden. Given the observation of $Υ$ pair production at CMS, such a state with a large branching fraction into $ΥΥ^*$ is likely discoverable at the LHC. The discovery mode is similar to the SM Higgs decaying into four leptons through the $Z Z^*$ channel. The testable features of both producti…
Systematic study of fully heavy-flavored tetraquarks $Q_1Q_2\bar{Q}_1\bar{Q}_2\,(Q_{1;2} \in \left\{b;c\right\})$: Mass spectra, threshold analysis, and confrontation with LHC data
University of Geneva(日内瓦大学);University of Yaounde I(雅温得第一大学)
We investigate the production of exotic tetraquarks, $QQ\bar{q}\bar{q} \equiv T_{QQ}$ ($Q=c$ or $b$ and $q=u$ or $d$), in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using the quark coalescence model. The $T_{QQ}$ yield is given by the overlap of the density matrix of the constituents in the emission source with the Wigner function of the produced tetraquark. The tetraquark wave function is obtained from exact solutions of the four-body problem using realistic constituent models. The production yields are typically one order of magnitude smaller than previous estimations based on simplified wave functio…
We investigate the production of the fully - heavy tetraquark states $T_{4Q}$ in the $γγ$ interactions present in proton-proton, proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We focus on the $γγ\rightarrow {\cal{Q}}{\cal{Q}}$ (${\cal{Q}} = J/ψ,\, Υ$) subprocess, mediated by the $T_{4Q}$ resonance in the $s$ - channel, and present predictions for the hadronic cross sections considering the kinematical ranges probed by the ALICE and LHCb Collaborations. Our results demonstrate that the experimental study of this process is feasible and can be used to inve…
In the light of the recent discovery of the $Ξ^{++}_{cc}$ by LHCb collaboration, we study the stable doubly heavy tetraquarks. These states are compact exotic hadrons which can be approximated as the diquark-anti-diquark correlations. In the flavor SU(3) symmetry, they form an SU(3) triplet or anti-sextet. The spectra of the stable doubly heavy tetraquark states are predicted by Sakharov-Zeldovich formula. We find that the $T^+_{cc\bar{u}\bar{d}}({\bf 3})$ is about 16MeV below the $DD^*$ threshold, while $T^{-}_{bb\bar{u}\bar{d}}({\bf 3})$ is about 73MeV below the $BB^*$ threshold. We then stu…
We study the case of a di-bottomonium $bb\bar b\bar b$ particle at the LHC. Its mass and decay width are obtained within a new model of diquark-antidiquark interactions in tetraquarks. The same model solves several open problems on the phenomenology of the experimentally better known $X,Z$ states. We show that the $bb\bar b\bar b$ tetraquark is expected approximately 100 MeV below threshold, and compare to a recent analysis by LHCb seeking it in the $Υμμ$ final state.
In the hadrocharmonium picture a $\bar cc$ state and a light hadron form a bound state. The effective interaction is described in terms of the chromoelectric polarizability of the $\bar cc$ state and energy-momentum-tensor densities of the light hadron. This picture is justified in the heavy quark limit, and may successfully account for a hidden-charm pentaquark state recently observed by LHCb. In this work we extend the formalism to the description of hidden-charm tetraquarks, and address the question of whether the resonant states observed by LHCb in the $J/ψ$-$ϕ$ spectrum can be described a…
The LHCb experiment at CERN has discovered a doubly charmed isoscalar tetraquark $T_{cc}$ with the quantum numbers of $c c \bar u \bar d$ and mass of about 3875 MeV/$c^2$, decaying to $D^0 D^0 π^+$ through the intermediate channel $D^{*+} D^0$. We present a study of its strange companions with the quantum numbers of $c c \bar q \bar s$, where $q = u, d$ and isospin violation is neglected.
We develop a model to study tetraquark production in hadronic collisions. We focus on double parton scattering and formulate a version of the color evaporation model for the production of the $X(3872)$ and of the $T_{4c}$ tetraquark, a state composed by the $c \bar{c} c \bar{c}$ quarks. We find that the production cross section grows rapidly with the collision energy $\sqrt{s}$ and make predictions for the forthcoming higher energy data of the LHC.
In this study, we investigate the discovery potential of double-charm tetraquarks $T^{\{cc\}}_{[\bar{q}\bar{q}']}$. We find that their production cross sections at the LHCb with $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV reach $\mathcal{O}(10^4)$ pb, which indicates that the LHCb has collected $\mathcal{O}(10^8)$ such particles. Through the decay channels of $T^{\{cc\}}_{[\bar{u}\bar{d}]}\to D^{+}K^{-}π^{+}$ or $D^0D^+γ$ (if stable) or $T^{\{cc\}}_{[\bar{u}\bar{d}]}\to D^0D^{*+}\to D^0D^0π^+$ (if unstable), it is highly expected that they get discovered at the LHCb in the near future. We also discuss the productions…
In this article, we construct the $[sc]_A[\bar{s}\bar{c}]_V-[sc]_V[\bar{s}\bar{c}]_A$ type tensor current to study the mass and width of the $X(4274)$ with the QCD sum rules in details. The predicted mass $M_{X}=(4.27\pm0.09) \, \rm{GeV}$ for the $J^{PC}=1^{++}$ tetraquark state is in excellent agreement with the experimental data $4273.3 \pm 8.3 ^{+17.2}_{-3.6} \mbox MeV}$ from the LHCb collaboration. The central value of the width $Γ(X(4274)\to J/ψϕ)=47.9\,{\rm{MeV}}$ is in excellent agreement with the experimental data $56 \pm 11 ^{+8}_{-11} \mbox MeV}}$ from the LHCb collaboration. The pre…
The LHC newly-discovered resonant structures around 7 GeV, such as the $X(6900)$, could be responsible for the observed excess in light-by-light scattering between 5 and 10 GeV. We show that the ATLAS data for light-by-light scattering may indeed be explained by such a state with the $γγ$ branching ratio of order of $10^{-4}$. This is much larger than the value inferred by the vector-meson dominance, but agrees quite well with the tetraquark expectation for the nature of this state. Further light-by-light scattering data in this region, obtained during the ongoing Run-3 and future Run-4 of the…
New data from BESIII and LHCb show the existence of resonances with strangeness filling multiplets of the broken SU(3)_f symmetry, with the pattern predicted by the quark model. This is the case of the newly discovered Z_{cs} (3985) and Z_{cs}(4003), which have a natural accommodation in the tetraquark picture, as shown in this note. The quasi-degeneracy between Z_{cs} (3985) and Z_{cs}(4003) reproduces, in the strange sector, the situation observed with X(3872) and Z_c(3900). This represents a significative score in favor of the tetraquark scheme.
The masses of tetraquark states of all $qc\bar q \bar c$ and $cc\bar c \bar c$ quark configurations are evaluated in a constituent quark model, where the Cornell-like potential and one-gluon exchange spin-spin coupling are employed. All model parameters are predetermined by comparing the theoretical and experimental masses of light, charmed and bottom mesons. The theoretical predictions of the charmoniumlike tetraquarks are compared with the observed $XYZ$ states, and one tentative assignment is suggested. The work suggests that the $X(6900)$ observed by LHCb is likely to be the first radial e…
The $X(6900)$ resonance, very recently discovered in the double-$J/ψ$ channel at LHCb experiment, has spurred intensive interest in unravelling the nature of the fully charmed tetraquark state. The aim of this paper is to present a model-independent theoretical framework to study the inclusive production of this novel species of exotic hadrons, the resonances composed of four heavy quark (commonly referred to as $T_{4c}$), at large $p_T$ in hadron collision experiments. Appealing to asymptotic freedom and the fact $m_c\gg Λ_{\rm QCD}$, we propose that the nonpertubative yet universal gluon-to-…
The mass spectra of all-charm tetraquark states with the [cc][$\bar{c}\bar{c}$] quark configuration are investigated. The coulomb plus linear potential is used in conjunction with the relativistic mass correction term $\mathcal{O}(\frac{1}{m})$. To determine the fitting parameters for all-charm tetraquarks states [cc][$\bar{c}\bar{c}$], we first calculate the mass spectra of charmonia [c$\bar{c}$] and its decay constants ($f^{2}_{P/V}$). We estimated the masses of the tetraquark states in their ground and radially excited states. For mass spectra of tetraquark states, we also included spin-spi…
Inspired by recent measurement of possible fully charmed tetraquarks in LHCb Collaboration, we investigate the mass spectra of fully heavy tetraquarks $QQ \bar Q \bar Q$ in an extended relativized quark model. Our estimations indicate that the broad structure around 6.4 GeV should contain one or more ground $cc \bar c \bar c$ tetraquark states, while the narrow structure near 6.9 GeV can be categorized as the first radial excitation of $cc \bar c \bar c$ system. Moreover, with the wave functions of the tetraquarks and mesons, the strong decays of tetraquarks into heavy quarkonium pair are qual…
In this work, we take all the color-antitriplet diquarks, such as the scalar, pseudoscalar, vector, axialvector and tensor diquarks, as the basic constituents to construct the local pseudoscalar four-quark currents without importing the explicit P-waves to implement the negative-parity, and investigate the mass spectroscopy of the pseudoscalar hidden-charm tetraquark states without strange, with strange and with hidden-strange in the framework of the QCD sum rules in a consistent and comprehensive way. We obtain the lowest mass $4.56\pm0.08\,\rm{GeV}$ for the pseudoscalar tetraquark state with…
The 2020 announcement by LHCb of a narrow structure $X(6900)$ in the di-$J/ψ$ spectrum -- a potential $c\bar c c\bar c$ state -- has opened a new era in hadronic spectroscopy. In this talk, we briefly survey theory works preceding this event, examine key features of the observed spectrum, and then discuss how subsequent theory studies (including with the author's own dynamical diquark model) have interpreted these features. We conclude with proposals for experiments capable of distinguishing competing interpretations.
We study the LHC discovery potential of the double-bottom tetraquarks $bb \bar u \bar d$, $bb \bar u \bar s$ and $bb \bar d \bar s$, the lightest of which having $J^P=1^+$, called $T^{\{bb\}}_{[\bar u \bar d]}$, $T^{\{bb\}}_{[\bar u \bar s]}$ and $T^{\{bb\}}_{[\bar d \bar s]}$, are expected to be stable against strong decays. Employing the Monte Carlo generators MadGraph5$\_$aMC@NLO and Pythia6, we simulate the process $pp\to \bar b b\bar b b$ and calculate the $b b$-diquark jet configurations, specified by the invariant mass interval $m_{bb} < M_{T^{\{bb\}}_{[\bar q \bar q']}} + ΔM$. Estimate…
Beauty tetraquark states $X(\bar b q'q'' \bar q )$ composed of $ \bar b s u \bar d$, $\bar b d s \bar u$, and $\bar b u d \bar s$, are unique that all the four valence quarks are different. Although the claim of existence of the first two states by D0 was not confirmed by data from LHCb, the possibility of such states still generated a lot of interests and should be pursued further. Non-observation of $X(\bar b q'q'' \bar q )$ states by LHCb may be just due to a still lower production rate than the limit of LHCb or at some different mass ranges. In this work we use light quark $SU(3)$ flavor s…
Recently, some progresses have been made on the double-heavy tetraquarks in the experiments, such as $T_{cc}$ reported by LHCb Collaboration, and $X_{cc\bar{s}\bar{s}}$ reported by the Belle Collaboration. Coming on the heels of our previous work about $T_{cc}$ and $T_{bb}$, we present a study on the bound states and the resonant states of its companions $QQ\bar{q}\bar{s}$ ($Q=c,b; q=u, s$) tetraquarks with strange flavor in the chiral quark model. Two pictures, one with meson-meson picture, another with diquark-antidiquark picture and their couplings are considered in our calculations. Isospi…
In this work, we study the $D\bar{D}$, $DD$, $D\bar{D}_s$, $DD_s$, $D_s\bar{D}_s$ and $D_sD_s$ tetraquark molecular states with the $J^{PC}=0^{++}$ via the QCD sum rules. The prediction $M_{D_s\bar {D}_s} = 3.98\pm0.10\, \rm{GeV}$ is in very good agreement with the experimental value $M_{X(3960)} = 3956 \pm 5\pm 10 \,\rm{MeV}$ from the LHCb collaboration and supports assigning the $X(3960)$ as the $D_s^+D_s^-$ molecular state with the $J^{PC}=0^{++}$. We take account of our previous works on the four-quark states consisting of two color-neutral clusters, and acquire the mass spectrum of the gr…
We discuss the production mechanism of fully charm tetraquark, observed recently by the LHCb at M = 6.9 GeV in the $J/ψJ/ψ$ channel. Both single parton scattering (SPS) and double parton scattering (DPS) mechanisms are considered. We calculate the distribution in the invariant mass of the four-quark system $M_{4c}$ for SPS and DPS production of $c c \bar c \bar c$ in the $k_t$-factorization approach. We present transverse momentum distribution in $p_{t,4c}$ for $c \bar c c \bar c$ system in a mass window around tetraquark mass. The calculation of the SPS $g^* g^* \to T_{4c}(6900)$ fusion mecha…
A possibility to observe TeV-scale gravity signals at the LHC is discussed. The ADD scenario with large extra dimensions is considered and its LHC discovery potential is derived studying by muon pairs with large invariant masses.
In this talk, we briefly report the investigations of the mass spectra for the $cc\bar c\bar c, bb\bar b\bar b$, $bc\bar b\bar c$ and $cc\bar b\bar b$ tetraquark states by using the QCD moment sum rule method. The calculations for the fully-charm $cc\bar c\bar c$ tetraquarks have been successfully predicted the existence of di-$J/ψ$ resonances including $X(6900)$ in LHCb's observation. The quantum numbers for these resonance structures are also suggested. More efforts are still needed in both theoretical and experimental aspects to study the properties of these fully-heavy tetraquark states. T…
We discuss the model independent parameterization for a strongly interacting electroweak sector. Phenomenological studies are made to probe such a sector for future colliders such as the LHC, $e^+e^-$ Linear collider and a muon collider.
Very recently the LHCb Collaboration reported their observation of the first two fully open-flavor tetraquark states, the $X_0(2900)$ of $J^P = 0^+$ and the $X_1(2900)$ of $J^P = 1^-$. We study their possible interpretations using the method of QCD sum rules, paying special attention to an interesting feature of this experiment that the higher resonance $X_1(2900)$ has a width significantly larger than the lower one $X_0(2900)$. Our results suggest that the $X_0(2900)$ can be interpreted as the $S$-wave $D^{*-}K^{*+}$ molecule state of $J^P = 0^+$, and the $X_1(2900)$ can be interpreted as the…
We study here the di-muon decay mode of a very light CP-odd Higgs boson of the NMSSM, a1, produced in association with a bottom-antibottom pair and find that, despite small event rates, a significant signal should be extractable from the SM background at the LHC with high luminosity.
In this article, we study the $S\bar{S}$ type scalar tetraquark state $cq\bar{c}\bar{q}$ in details with the QCD sum rules by calculating the contributions of the vacuum condensates up to dimension-10 in the operator product expansion, and obtain the value $M_{Z_c}=\left(3.82^{+0.08}_{-0.08}\right)\,\rm{GeV}$, which is the lowest mass for the hidden charmed tetraquark states from the QCD sum rules. Furthermore, we calculate the hadronic coupling constants $G_{Z_cη_cπ}$ and $G_{Z_cDD}$ with the three-point QCD sum rules, then study the strong decays $ Z_c\to η_cπ\, ,\, DD$, and observe that the…
We discuss the production mechanism of a new state, a putative fully charm tetraquark, observed recently by the LHCb at M = 6.9 GeV in the $J/ψJ/ψ$ channel. Both single parton scattering (SPS) and double parton scattering (DPS) mechanisms are considered. We calculate the distribution in the invariant mass of the four-quark system $M_{4c}$ for SPS and DPS production of $c c \bar c \bar c$ in the $k_t$-factorization approach with modern unintegrated gluon distribution functions (UGDFs). The so-calculated contribution of DPS is almost two orders of magnitude larger than the SPS one, but the tetra…
We provide comprehensive investigations for the mass spectrum of exotic open-flavor charmed/bottom $sq\bar q\bar c$, $qq\bar q\bar c$, $sq\bar q\bar b$, $qq\bar q\bar b$ tetraquark states with various spin-parity assignments $J^P=0^+, 1^+, 2^+$ and $0^-, 1^-$ in the framework of QCD sum rules. In the diquark configuration, we construct the diquark-antidiquark interpolating tetraquark currents using the color-antisymmetric scalar and axial-vector diquark fields. The stable mass sum rules are established in reasonable parameter working ranges, which are used to give reliable mass predictions for…
We study the prospects for observing double parton scattering through four-muon final states, forming two opposite-sign muon pairs, in the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at 14 TeV centre of mass energy. We consider two special cases, namely double Drell-Yan and J/psi-pair production. The kinematic properties and prospects for observing these processes are discussed. We find that the production rate depends strongly on the origin of the four muons, while many kinematic properties can be used to help identify the presence of double parton scattering events.
The ATLAS and CMS collaborations recently reported indication of a Higgs boson around 125 GeV. If we add extra vector-like quarks to the MSSM, such a relatively heavy Higgs can be naturally realized in the GMSB framework, simultaneously explaining the muon g-2 anomaly. I will discuss LHC prospects of this attractive model.
We analyze the decays to muons of a light dilaton produced via vector boson fusion at the LHC. We investigate models in which the electroweak symmetry breaking is triggered by a spontaneously broken, approximately conformal sector. Taking into account the possibility of shifts in the dilaton Yukawa couplings to muons, we find a rather promising scenario for the conformal model search in the channel, with the possibility for a dilaton discovery at a delivered luminosity of 100 fb-1 at the LHC or, alternatively, for an extension of the exclusion zone in the model parameter space, until now fixed…
The recent observation by the D0 collaboration of a narrow structure X(5568) consisting of four different quark flavors bdus, has not been confirmed by LHCb. More data and dedicated analyses are needed to cover a larger mass range. In the tightly bound diquark model, we estimate the lightest bdus, 0^+ tetraquark at a mass of about 5770 MeV, approximately 200 MeV above the reported X(5568), and just 7 MeV below the B Kbar threshold. The charged tetraquark is accompanied by I=1 and I=0 neutral partners almost degenerate in mass. A bdus, S-wave, 1^+ quartet at 5820 MeV is implied as well. In the …
