The $D_{s0}(2590)^{+}$ resonance observed by LHCb Collaboration is a strong candidate of the $D_{s}(2^1S_0)$ state according to its spin parity and strong decay mode. However, the measured mass seems relatively lower than the previous theoretical predictions, which interests the coupled channel interpretations in the literature. In this work, we adopt an alternate approach, taking into account the screening effects in the potential model, to describe the $D_{s0}(2590)^{+}$ resonance. The mass spectrum and strong decays of the excited charmed-strange mesons are investigated within the modified relativized quark model and $^3P_0$ model. The calculated mass and width of the $D_{s0}(2590)^{+}$ are consistent with the experimental observations, which indicate that it can be reasonably interpreted as the $D_{s}(2^{1}S_{0})$ state.
This paper intends to collect the various evidences observed by ATLAS and CMS within searches for heavy scalars and pseudocalars. These searches in tt, hZ, tautau and 2jets+W, obtain individual excesses in five channels, each at a modest level of significance, ~3 standard deviations, but, put together, give a strong evidence for a pseudoscalar at ~400 GeV. Preliminary interpretations are given which suggest that additional observations should appear in the HL-LHC phase.
We sketch a novel method to search for light di-leptonic resonances by exploiting precision measurements of Drell-Yan production. Motivated by the recent hints of lepton flavour universality violation in $B \to K^{\ast} \ell^+ \ell^-$, we illustrate our proposal by studying the case of spin-1 resonances that couple to muons and have masses in the range of a few GeV. We show that the existing LHC data on $pp \to Z/γ^\ast \to μ^+ μ^-$ put non-trivial constraints on light di-muon resonance interpretations of $B$ decay anomalies in a model-independent fashion. The impact of our proposal on the lon…
Recently, the LHCb Collaboration has confirmed the state $X(4140)$, with a mass $M=4146.5\pm 4.5^{+4.6}_{-2.8}$~MeV, and a much larger width $Γ=83\pm21^{+21}_{-14}$~MeV than the previous experimental measurements, which has confused the understanding of its nature. We will investigate the possibility of the $χ_{c1}(3P)$ interpretation for the $X(4140)$, considering the mass spectra predicted in the quark model, and the strong decay properties within the $^3P_0$ model. We also predict the strong decay properties of the charmonium states $χ_{c0}(3P)$ and $χ_{c2}(3P)$. Our results show that the $…
In this work, we consider the canonical charmonium assignments for Y(4360) and Y(4660). Y(4660) is good candidate of $\rm 5 ^3S_1$ $c\bar{c}$ state, the possibility of Y(4360) as a $\rm 3 ^3D_1$ $c\bar{c}$ state is studied, and the charmonium hybrid interpretation of Y(4360) can not be excluded completely. We evaluate the $e^{+}e^{-}$ leptonic widths, E1 transitions, M1 transitions and the open flavor strong decays of Y(4360) and Y(4660). Experimental tests for the charmonium assignments are suggested.
With an expected rate of about one event per 100,000 top-quark pairs, four top-quark final states very rarely arise at the LHC. Though scarce, they offer a unique window onto top-quark compositeness, self-interactions and more generically, onto any top-philic new physics. By employing simplified models featuring heavy resonances, we study the range of validity of effective theory interpretations of current four top-quark analyses at the LHC and establish their future reach at the HL-LHC. We find that for the class of models under consideration, the effective field theory interpretations are no…
We argue that the mass, production, total decay width, and decay pattern of the $η_2(1870)$ do not appear to contradict with the picture of it being the conventional $2 ^1D_2$ $q\bar{q}$ state. The possibility of the $η_2(1870)$ being a mixture of the conventional $q\bar{q}$ and the hybrid is also discussed.
Recently, LHCb collaboration has confirmed the state $X(4140)$, with a much larger width $Γ= 83\pm 21^{+21}_{-14}$ MeV than the previous experimental measurements, which has confused the understanding of its nature. We have investigated the possibility of the $χ_{c1}(3P)$ interpretation for the $X(4140)$, considering the mass and the strong decay properties.
The precise measurement of binding energy, total width and DDpi branching fraction, constrains, in a model independent way, the loosely bound hadron molecule interpretation of X(3872). A full discernment is not yet possible on the basis of present data. Similar considerations might be extended to all those Y,Z resonances susceptible of a molecular description.
The exotic J^{PC}= 1^{-+} resonance π_{1}(1600)is examined in the framework of the Quark Model with Constituent Gluon (QMCG). We report the possibility of interpreting that resonance as quark-antiquark-gluon hybrid meson, with a masse = 1.65+0.05-0.04 GeV and a rho-pi decay width = 0.28+0.14-0.09 GeV.
The spectrum and decay properties of radially excited $D_s$ states are examined in a new model. Good agreement is obtained with the properties of two recently announced $D_s$ mesons identified as $D_{s0}(2860) = c\bar{s}(2P)$ and $D^*_{s}(2690) = c\bar{s}$ as a possible mixture of $(2S;{}^3S_1)$ and $(1D;{}^3D_1)$. Searching for these mesons in B decays is advocated due to large predicted branching ratios.
The Monte Carlo (MC) procedure for sampling the hadron yields within hadron resonance gas (HRG) model is presented. The effects of excluded-volume due to the finite hadron eigenvolumes and of exact charge conservation within the canonical ensemble (CE) formulation are simultaneously taken into account with the help of the importance sampling technique combined with the rejection sampling. The MC procedure allows one to calculate arbitrary moments of the event-by-event hadron yields. Note that the CE formulation for the excluded-volume HRG has not been considered before. The MC simulations coin…
Stimulated by the newly observed $Λ_b(6146)^0$ and $Λ_b(6152)^0$ resonances, we investigate the strong decays of the low-lying singly bottom baryons within the quark pair creation model. Considering their masses and decay modes, we tentatively assign these states as the $λ-$ mode $Λ_b(2S)$, $Λ_b(1D)$, $Σ_b(2S)$, and $Σ_b(1P)$ states, and then estimate their strong decay widths. Compared with the experimental total widths and decay modes measured by the LHCb Collaboration, the $Λ_b(6146)^0$ and $Λ_b(6152)^0$ can be reasonably clarified into the $J^P=5/2^+$ and $J^P=3/2^+$ $Λ_b(1D)$ sates respec…
Inspired by the new resonance $Y(10750)$, we calculate the masses and two-body OZI-allowed strong decays of the higher vector bottomonium sates within both screened and linear potential models. We discuss the possibilities of $Υ(10860)$ and $Y(10750)$ as mixed states via the $S-D$ mixing. Our results suggest that $Y(10750)$ and $Υ(10860)$ might be explained as mixed states between $5S$- and $4D$-wave vector $b\bar{b}$ states. The $Y(10750)$ and $Υ(10860)$ resonances may correspond to the mixed states dominated by the $4D$- and $5S$-wave components, respectively. The mass and the strong decay b…
The ATLAS excess in fat jet pair production is kinematically compatible with the decay of a heavy resonance into two gauge bosons plus an extra particle. This hypothesis would explain the absence of such a large excess in the analogous CMS analysis of fat dijet final states, as well as the negative results of diboson resonance searches in the semi-leptonic decay modes. If the extra particle is the Higgs boson, this hypothesis might also explain -statistical fluctuations aside- why the CMS search for WH resonances in the semi-leptonic channel finds some excess while in the fully hadronic one it…
We investigate the $Λ(1520)$ photoproduction in the $\vecγ p \to K^+ Λ(1520)$ reaction within the effective Lagrangian method near threshold. In addition to the "background" contributions from the contact, $t-$channel $K$ exchange, and $s-$channel nucleon pole terms, which were already considered in previous works, the contribution from the nucleon resonance $N^*(2080)$ (spin-parity $J^P = 3/2^-$) is also considered. We show that the inclusion of the nucleon resonance $N^*(2080)$ leads to a fairly good description of the new LEPS differential cross-section data, and that these measurements can…
We examine whether the LHCb vector $ud\bar{c}\bar{s}$ state $X(2900)$ can be interpreted as a kinematical cusp effect arising from $\bar D^*K^*$ and $\bar D_1 K^*$ interactions. The production amplitude is modelled as a triangle diagram with hadronic final state interactions. A satisfactory fit to the Dalitz plot projection is obtained that leverages the singularities of the production diagram without the need for $\bar{D}K$ resonances. A somewhat better fit is obtained if the final state interactions are strong enough to generate resonances, although the evidence in favour of this scenario is…
We analyze the Belle data [K. F. Chen {\it et al.} (Belle Collaboration), Phys.\ Rev.\ Lett.\ {\bf 100}, 112001 (2008); I. Adachi {\it et al.} (Belle Collaboration), arXiv:0808.2445] on the processes $e^+ e^- \to Υ(1S)\; π^+π^-, Υ(2S)\; π^+π^-$ near the peak of the $Υ(5S)$ resonance, which are found to be anomalously large in rates compared to similar dipion transitions between the lower $Υ$ resonances. Assuming these final states arise from the production and decays of the $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ state $Y_b(10890)$, which we interpret as a bound (diquark-antidiquark) tetraquark state $[bq][\bar{b}\ba…
We study the charmed and bottomed doubly strange baryons within the heavy-quark-light-diquark framework. The two strange quarks are assumed to lie in $S$ wave and thus their total spin is 1. We calculate the mass spectra of the $S$ and $P$ wave orbitally excited states and find the $Ω_c^0 (2695)$ and $Ω_c^0 (2770)$ fit well as the $S$ wave states of charmed doubly strange baryons. The five newly $Ω_c^0(X)$ resonances observed by the LHCb Collaboration, i.e. $Ω_c^0(3000)$, $Ω_c^0(3050)$, $Ω_c^0(3066)$, $Ω_c^0(3090)$, and $Ω_c^0(3119)$, can be interpreted as the $P$ wave orbitally excited states…
We scrutinise the evidences recently reported by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations for compatible 750 GeV resonances which appear in the di-photon channels of the two experiments in both the 8 TeV and 13 TeV datasets. Similar resonances in di-boson, di-lepton, di-jet and $t\bar t$ final states are instead not detected. After discussing the properties and the compatibility of the reported signals, we study the implications on the physics beyond the Standard Model with particular emphasis on possible scalar extensions of the theory such as singlet extensions and the two Higgs doublet models. We a…
We consider the diphoton resonance at the 13 TeV LHC in a consistent model with new scalars and vector-like fermions added to the Standard Model (SM), which can be constructed from orbifold grand unified theories and string models. The gauge coupling unification can be achieved, neutrino masses can be generated radiatively, and electroweak vacuum stability problem can be solved. To explain the diphoton resonance, we study a spin-0 particle, and discuss various associated final states.
We suggest that the J/psi phi structures observed by LHCb can be fitted in two tetraquak multiplets, the S-wave ground state and the first radial excitation, with composition [cs][cbar sbar]. When compared to the previously identified [cq][cbar qbar] multiplet, the observed masses agree with what expected for a multiplet with q -->s. We propose the X(4274), fitted by LHCb with a single 1^++ resonance, to correspond rather to two, almost degenerate, unresolved lines with J^PC = 0^++, 2^++. Masses of missing particles in the 1S and 2S multiplets are predicted.
The ATLAS collaboration has reported excesses in searches for resonant diboson production decaying into hadronic final states. This deviation from the Standard Model prediction may be a signature of an extra bosonic particle having a mass of around 2 TeV with a fairly narrow width, which implies the presence of a new perturbative theory at the TeV scale. In this paper, we study interpretations of the signal and its implication to physics beyond the Standard Model. We find that the resonance could be regarded as a leptophobic vector particle, which could explain a part of the observed excesses …
Three neutral resonances $Ξ_c(2923)^0$, $Ξ_c(2939)^0$ and $Ξ_c(2965)^0$ have been observed in the $Λ_c^+ K^-$ mass spectrum by the LHCb Collaboration. Given the $Ξ_c$ and $Ξ_c^\prime$ mass spectra predicted by the constituent quark models, these three resonances are tentatively treated as the $λ-$mode $Ξ_c(2S)$, $Ξ_c^\prime(2S)$, $Ξ_c^{\prime *}(2S)$, and $Ξ_c^\prime(1P)$ states, and their strong decay behaviors are calculated within the $^3P_0$ model. Our results indicate that the $Ξ_c(2923)^0$ and $Ξ_c(2939)^0$ can be clarified into the $J^P=3/2^-$ and $5/2^-$ $Ξ_c^\prime(1P)$ states respect…
Ten resonances were found in the mass spectrum of pi+pi- -system from the reaction np->nppi+pi- in np-interactions at Pn=5.20 GeV/c in the 1-m HBC of LHE JINR by using the criterion cos(teta)[c.m.c.] p>0. Such effects were not found in pi-pi0 - combinations from the reaction np->pppi-pi0. Therefore, it is necessary to attribute the value of isotopic spin I = 0 to the resonances found in the mass spectrum of the pi+pi- -system. The spin was estimated for the most statistically provided resonances. We determine with a high degree of confidence that J = 0 for the resonances at MR = 757 MeV/c^2 an…
We speculate about the origin of the recent excess at ~750 GeV in diphoton resonance searches observed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments using the first 13 TeV data. Its interpretation as a new scalar resonance produced in gluon fusion and decaying to photons is consistent with all relevant exclusion bounds from the 8 TeV LHC run. We provide a simple phenomenological framework to parametrize the properties of the new resonance and show in a model-independent way that, if the scalar is produced in gluon fusion, additional new colored and charged particles are required. Finally, we discuss some i…
The IceCube experiment (IC) has recently observed 2 cascade events with energies between 1 and 10 PeV. This energy combined with the fact that no muon-track events are observed may be interpreted as a cosmogenic $\bar ν_e$ interacting in IC via the Glashow resonance (GR) $\bar ν_e e \to W^-\to$ (hadrons or $\bar ν_e e$). We point out a unique, background-free signature of the GR, a single isolated muon unaccompanied by any shower activity from the interaction $\bar ν_e e \to W^-\to \bar ν_μμ^-$, and propose it as a test of this interpretation. We calculate the event numbers and find that a sin…
The LHCb Collaboration has recently observed four $J/ψϕ$ structures called $X(4140)$, $X(4274)$, $X(4500)$ and $X(4700)$ in the $B^{+}\to J/ψϕK^{+}$ decays. We study them herein using a nonrelativistic constituent quark model in which the degrees of freedom are quark-antiquark and meson-meson components. The $X(4140)$ resonance appears as a cusp in the $J/ψϕ$ channel due to the near coincidence of the $D_{s}^{\pm}D_{s}^{\ast\pm}$ and $J/ψϕ$ mass thresholds. The remaining three $X(4274)$, $X(4500)$ and $X(4700)$ appear as conventional charmonium states with quantum numbers $3^{3}P_{1}$, $4^{3}P…
We consider the analytic continuation of the transfer function for a 2x2 matrix Hamiltonian into the unphysical sheets of the energy Riemann surface. We construct a family of non-selfadjoint operators which reproduce certain parts of the transfer-function spectrum including resonances situated on the unphysical sheets neighboring the physical sheet. On this basis, completeness and basis properties for the root vectors of the transfer function (including those for the resonances) are proved.

We propose a possible scheme to interpret the complex expectation values associated with resonances having the complex eigenenergies. Using the Green's function for resonances, the expectation value is basically described by the Breit-Wigner distribution as a function of the real excitation energy. In the expression of the complex expectation values for resonances, the real part brings the integral value of the distribution, while the imaginary part produces the deviation from the Breit-Wigner distribution, which explains a shift of the peak in the strength from the resonance energy. We apply t…
We discuss the likely tetraquark interpretation of the X(1576) K+ K- isovector resonance recently reported by BES with J^{PC}=1^{--}. We point out that if this interpretation as a four-quark state is correct, the (s u sbar dbar) tetraquark decays might have striking signatures. We also provide predictions for possible analogous tetraquarks involving heavy quarks - (c q cbar qbar) and (b q bbar qbar).
We study whether the nonmonotonic behavior found in the differential cross section of the phi-meson photoproduction near threshold can be described by a resonance. The resonant contribution is evaluated by using an effective Lagrangian approach. We find that, with the assumption of a J^P=3/2^- resonance with mass of 2.10 \pm 0.03 GeV and width of 0.465 \pm 0.141 GeV, LEPS data can indeed be well described. The ratio of the helicity amplitudes A_1/2/A_3/2 calculated from the resulting coupling constants differs in sign from that of the known D13(2080). We further find that the addition of this …
Recently reported diboson and diphoton excesses at LHC are interpreted to be connected with heavy $WW$ zero spin resonances. The resonances appears due to the wouldbe anomalous triple interaction of the weak bosons, which is defined by well-known coupling constant $λ$. The $2\, TeV$ anomaly tentatively corresponds to weak isotopic spin 2 scalar state and the $γγ\,\,750\, GeV$ anomaly corresponds to weak isotopic spin 0 pseudoscalar state. We obtain estimates for the effect, which qualitatively agree with ATLAS data. Effects are predicted in a production of $W^+ W^-, (Z,γ) (Z,γ)$ via resonance …
Bound, antibound and resonance states are associated to poles in the on-shell partial wave amplitudes. We show here that from the residues of the pole a rank 1 projection operator associated with any of these states can be extracted, in terms of which a sum rule related to the composition of the state can be derived. Although typically it involves complex coefficients for the compositeness and elementariness, except for the bound state case, we demonstrate that one can formulate a meaningful compositeness relation with only positive coefficients for resonances whose associated Laurent series i…
With null results in resonance searches at the LHC, the physics potential focus is now shifting towards the interpretation of non-resonant phenomena. An example of such shift is the increased popularity of the EFT programme. We can embark on such programme owing to good integrated luminosity and an excellent understanding of the detectors, which will allow these searches to become more intense as the LHC continues. In this paper we provide a framework to perform this interpretation in terms of a diverse set of scenarios, including {\it 1.) } generic heavy new physics described at low energies …

We investigate theoretical interpretations of the 1.4 GeV J^PC exotic resonance reported by the E852 collaboration. It is argued that interpretation in terms of a hybrid meson is untenable. A K-matrix analysis shows that the 1.4 GeV enhancement in the E852 eta pi data can be understood as an interference of a non-resonant Deck-type background and a resonance at 1.6 GeV. A final state rescattering calculation shows that the 1.6 GeV hybrid has a eta pi width which is bounded above by 57 \pm 14 MeV.
The axial vector meson $K_1(1270)$ was studied within the chiral unitary approach, where it was shown that it has a two-pole structure. We reanalyze the high-statistics WA3 experiment $K^- p\to K^-π^+π^- p$ at 63 GeV, which established the existence of both $K_1(1270)$ and $K_1(1400)$, and we show that it clearly favors our two-pole interpretation. We also reanalyze the traditional K-matrix interpretation of the WA3 data and find that the good fit of the data obtained there comes from large cancellations of terms of unclear physical interpretation.
Recently, an excess of events in diphoton channel with invariant mass of about 750 GeV has been reported by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations. Considering it as a tantalizing hint for new physics beyond the Standard Model (SM), we propose a simple extension of the SM with an additional doublet Higgs $H^{'}$ and a singlet $s$. We consider the neutral component $H^{\prime }_0$ of $H'$ as the 750 GeV resonance, and assume that $s$ is lighter than 2.6 GeV. In particular, $H^{\prime }_0$ can be produced at tree level via $q{\bar q}$ production, and decay into a pair of $s$ at tree level. And then $s…
We extend the SHM analysis of hadron production results showing here consistency with the increased experimental data set, stability of the fit with regard to inclusion of finite resonance widths and 2-star hyperon resonances. We present new results on strangeness yield as a function of centrality and present their interpretation in terms of QGP inspired model of strangeness abundance in the hadronizing fireball.
A spin-two resonance would have couplings to the SM, suppressed via higher-dimensional operators. Therefore, a sizeable cross-section would indicate that the scale of additional new phenomena cannot be too far above the 750 GeV mark. Below I present some theoretical arguments to place the resonance in a wider framework: a manifestation of new extra-dimensions, or a glueball of a new strong sector. In each case, I identify some conditions the UV theory must satisfy to accommodate other experimental bounds. Based on those, I draw correlations with associated phenomena we expect to find in future…
It is now widely recognized that large Bjorken $x$ data play an important role in global analyses of Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) even at collider energies, through perturbative QCD evolution. For values of the scale of the reaction, $Q^2$, in the multi-GeV region the structure functions at large $x$ present resonance structure. Notwithstanding, these data can be incorporated in the analyses by using quark-hadron duality or approximate scaling of the structure function data averaged over their resonance structure. Several averaging methods have been proposed using either the PDFs Melli…
QCD Gaussian sum-rules are used to explore the vector ($J^{PC}=1^{--}$) strangeonium hybrid interpretation of the $Y(2175)$. Using a two-resonance model consisting of the $Y(2175)$ and an additional resonance, we find that the relative resonance strength of the $Y(2175)$ in the Gaussian sum-rules is less than 5\% that of a heavier 2.9 GeV state. This small relative strength presents a challenge to a dominantly-hybrid interpretation of the $Y(2175)$.
A resonance near 750 GeV has been observed at both the ATLAS and CMS experiments in its diphoton decay channel. We propose a possible interpretation based on a simplified model: a 750 GeV singlet scalar resonance, and a minimal stealth vector quark are introduced. At the LHC, the scalar is produced through gluon fusion, and subsequently decays to diphoton final state. The light stealth quarks could enhance the diphoton rate significantly, while still keeping other channels below the current LHC search limits. We find that the stealth quarks around 400 ~ 500 GeV with its coupling to scalar arou…
We propose an interpretation of the two neutrino initiated cascade events with PeV energies observed by IceCube: Ultra-high energy cosmic ray protons (or Fe nuclei) scatter on CMB photons through the Delta-resonance (the Berezinsky-Zatsepin process) yielding charged pions and neutrons. The neutron decays give electron-antineutrinos which undergo neutrino oscillations to populate all antineutrino flavors, but the electron-antineutrino flux remains dominant. At 6.3 PeV electron-antineutrino energy their annihilation on electrons in the IceCube detector is enhanced by the Glashow resonance (the W…
A version of the bound state soliton model which allows both $η$ and $K$ bound states is used to study low partial wave octet baryon resonances. It is found that negative parity $S-$wave resonances are well described within this framework. A possible interpretation of the $P-$wave resonances is also discussed.
Composite Higgs models generically predict the existence of heavy spin-1 resonances with the same quantum numbers as electroweak gauge bosons. The effective lagrangian description of these resonances is presented, pointing out the origin of their interactions with SM matter fields and the resulting LHC phenomenology. Search strategies for spin-1 resonances are discussed, mentioning possible advantages offered by boosted decay products. The impact of interactions between spin-1 resonances and fermion resonances, crucial for the proper interpretation of LHC searches, is pointed out.
Invoked by the recent observation of $Y(4390)$ at BESIII, which is about 40 MeV below the $D^*(2010)\bar{D}_1(2420)$ threshold, we investigate possible bound and resonance states from the $D^*(2010)\bar{D}_1(2420)$ interaction with the one-boson-exchange model in a quasipotential Bethe-Salpeter equation approach. A bound state with quantum number $0^-(1^{--})$ is produced at 4384 MeV from the $D^ (2010)\bar{D}_1(2420)$ interaction, which can be related to experimentally observed $Y(4390)$. Another state with quantum number $1^+(1^{+})$ is also produced at $4461+i39$ MeV from this interaction. …
We study the implications of the flavour SU(3) symmetry for various interpretations of the neutron anomaly in the $γN\toηN$ cross section. We show that the explanation of the neutron anomaly due to interference of known N(1535) and N(1650) resonances implies that N(1650) resonance should have a huge coupling to $ϕ$-meson -- at least 5 times larger than the corresponding $ρ^0$ coupling. In terms of quark degrees of freedom this means that the well-known N(1650) resonance must be a "cryptoexotic pentaquark"-- its wave function should contain predominantly an $s\bar s$ component. It turns out tha…
An evidence for a diphoton resonance at a mass of 750 GeV has been observed in the data collected at the LHC run at a center of mass energy of 13 TeV. We explore several interpretations of this signal in terms of Higgs-like resonances in a two-Higgs doublet model and its supersymmetric incarnation, in which the heavier CP-even and CP-odd states present in the model are produced in gluon fusion and decay into two photons through top quark loops. We show that one cannot accommodate the observed signal in the minimal versions of these models and that an additional particle content is necessary. W…
We study, within phenomenological Lagrangian approach, the possibility that the near-threshold peak found in the phi-photoproduction cross section is caused by a resonance. We show that, by employing a J^P=3/2^- resonance with a mass of 2.08 +/- 0.05 GeV and a width of 0.570 +/- 0.169 GeV, the LEPS data which include new data on nine spin-density matrix elements can indeed be described reasonably well. We also find that the ratio of helicity amplitudes A_1/2/A_3/2 calculated from the resulting coupling constants differs in sign from that of D13(2080). The resonance is further found to be able …
A novel theoretical approach to the problem of the compositeness ($X$) of a resonance or bound state is developed on the basis of the expectation values of the number operators of the free particles in the continuum. This formalism is specially suitable for effective field theories in which the bare elementary states are integrated out but that give rise to resonance and bound states when implemented in nonperturbative calculations. We demonstrate that $X=1$ for finite-range energy-independent potentials, either regular or singular. A non-trivial example for an energy-dependent potential is di…
