The aim of this manuscript is to review the studies about de Sitter solution and the null infinity of asymptotically flat and de Sitter space-times. Thus, after introducing the de Sitter space-time, the symmetry group is described. Also precise definitions of asymptotically flat and de Sitter space-times are reviewed. Henceforth, the null infinities and the asymptotic symmetry groups of these two space-times are considered, which lead to the Fefferman-Graham approach and the Penrose-Newman formalism.
We analyze asymptotic structure of general gravitational and electromagnetic fields near an anti-de Sitter-like conformal infinity. Dependence of the radiative component of the fields on a null direction along which the infinity is approached is obtained. The directional pattern of outgoing and ingoing radiation, which supplements standard peeling property, is determined by the algebraic (Petrov) type of the fields and also by orientation of principal null directions with respect to the timelike infinity. The dependence on the orientation is a new feature if compared to spacelike infinity.
The grand-canonical thermodynamic potential for Bose and Fermi fields in anti-de Sitter space-time is introduced and a Mellin complex representation is given. This is used to investigate the high temperature properties of the thermal state at finite charge. The time-like nature of spatial infinity is shown to act as a boundary, and changes the free energy of the field in thermal equilibrium.
We solve for the retarded Greens function for linearized gravity in a background with a negative cosmological constant, anti de Sitter space. In this background, it is possible for a signal to reach spatial infinity in a finite time. Therefore the form of the Greens function depends on a choice of boundary condition at spatial infinity. We take as our condition that a signal which reaches infinity should be lost, not reflected back. We calculate the Greens function associated with this condition, and show that it reproduces the correct classical solution for a point mass at the origin, the ant…
We investigate solutions $(\mathcal{M}, g)$ to Einstein's vacuum field equations with positive cosmological constant $Λ$ which admit a smooth past null infinity $\mathcal{J}^-$ à la Penrose and a Killing vector field whose associated Mars-Simon tensor (MST) vanishes. The main purpose of this work is to provide a characterization of these spacetimes in terms of their Cauchy data on $\mathcal{J}^-$. Along the way, we also study spacetimes for which the MST does not vanish. In that case there is an ambiguity in its definition which is captured by a scalar function $Q$. We analyze properties of th…
We present a characterization of general gravitational and electromagnetic fields near de Sitter-like conformal infinity which supplements the standard peeling behavior. This is based on an explicit evaluation of the dependence of the radiative component of the fields on the null direction from which infinity is approached. It is shown that the directional pattern of radiation has a universal character that is determined by the algebraic (Petrov) type of the spacetime. Specifically, the radiation field vanishes along directions opposite to principal null directions.
We use the formulation of asymptotically anti-de Sitter boundary conditions given by Ashtekar and Magnon to obtain a coordinate expression for the general asymptotically AdeS metric in a neighbourhood of infinity. From this, we are able to compute the time delay of null curves propagating near infinity. If the gravitational mass is negative, so will be the time delay (relative to null geodesics at infinity) for certain null geodesics in the spacetime. Following closely an argument given by Penrose, Sorkin, and Woolgar, who treated the asymptotically flat case, we are then able to argue that a …
The requirements are formulated which lead to the existence of the class of globally regular solutions to the minimally coupled GR equations which are asymptotically de Sitter at the center. The brief review of the resulting geometry is presented. The source term, invariant under radial boots, is classified as spherically symmetric vacuum with variable density and pressure, associated with an r-dependent cosmological term, whose asymptotic in the origin, dictated by the weak energy condition, is the Einstein cosmological term. For this class of metrics the ADM mass is related to both de Sitter…
We generalize our unique continuation results recently established for a class of linear and nonlinear wave equations $\Box_g ϕ+ σϕ= \mathcal{G} ( ϕ, \partial ϕ)$ on asymptotically anti-de Sitter (aAdS) spacetimes to aAdS spacetimes admitting non-static boundary metrics. The new Carleman estimates established in this setting constitute an essential ingredient in proving unique continuation results for the full nonlinear Einstein equations, which will be addressed in forthcoming papers. Key to the proof is a new geometrically adapted construction of foliations of pseudoconvex hypersurfaces near…
We outline the class of globally regular spherically symmetric solutions to the minimally coupled GR equations asymptotically de Sitter in the origin and asymptotically Schwarzschild at infinity. A source term connects smoothly de Sitter vacuum at the regular center with Minkowski vacuum at infinity and corresponds to anisotropic spherically symmetric vacuum defined macroscopically by the algebraic structure of its stress-energy tensor invariant under boosts in the radial direction. De Sitter-Schwarzschild geometry describes a vacuum nonsingular black hole which evolves, in the course of Hawki…
We construct traversable wormholes with anti-de Sitter asymptotics supported by a phantom field. These wormholes are massless and symmetric with respect to reflection of the radial coordinate $η\to - η$. Their circumferential radius decreases monotonically from radial infinity to their single throat. Analogous to their asymptotically flat counterparts, these anti-de Sitter wormholes possess an unstable radial mode.
We investigate the asymptotic symmetry algebra of (2+1)-dimensional higher spin, anti-de Sitter gravity. We use the formulation of the theory as a Chern-Simons gauge theory based on the higher spin algebra hs(1,1). Expanding the gauge connection around asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetime, we specify consistent boundary conditions on the higher spin gauge fields. We then study residual gauge transformation, the corresponding surface terms and their Poisson bracket algebra. We find that the asymptotic symmetry algebra is a nonlinearly deformed W(infinity) algebra with classical central charg…
In this short paper, we prove a well-posedness theorem for the massive wave equation (with the mass satisfying the Breitenlohner-Freedman bound) on asymptotically anti-de Sitter spaces. The solution is constructed as a limit of solutions to an initial boundary value problem with boundary at a finite location in spacetime by finally pushing the boundary out to infinity. The solution obtained is unique within the energy class (but non-unique if the decay at infinity is weakened).
We study the propagation of a massless scalar wave in de Sitter spacetime perturbed by an arbitrary central mass. By focusing on the late time limit, this probes the portion of the scalar signal traveling inside the null cone. Unlike in asymptotically flat spacetimes, the amplitude of the scalar field detected by an observer at timelike infinity does not decay back to zero but develops a spacetime constant shift - both at zeroth and first order in the central mass M. This indicates that massless scalar field propagation in asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes exhibits both linear and nonlinear …
We study gravitational and electromagnetic radiation generated by uniformly accelerated charged black holes in anti-de Sitter spacetime. This is described by the C-metric exact solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations with a negative cosmological constant Lambda. We explicitly find and interpret the pattern of radiation that characterizes the dependence of the fields on a null direction from which the (timelike) conformal infinity is approached. This directional pattern exhibits specific properties which are more complicated if compared with recent analogous results obtained for asymptotic b…
We consider quantum general relativity in three dimensions with a positive cosmological constant. The Hartle-Hawking wave function is computed as a function of metric data at asymptotic future infinity. The analytic continuation from Euclidean Anti-de Sitter space provides a natural integration contour in the space of metrics, allowing us -- with certain assumptions -- to compute the wave function exactly, including both perturbative and non-perturbative effects. The resulting wave function is a non-normalizable function of the conformal structure of future infinity which is infinitely peaked …
We analyze the directional properties of general gravitational, electromagnetic, and spin-s fields near conformal infinity I. The fields are evaluated in normalized tetrads which are parallelly propagated along null geodesics which approach a point P of I. The standard peeling-off property is recovered and its meaning is discussed and refined. When the (local) character of the conformal infinity is null, such as in asymptotically flat spacetimes, the dominant term which is identified with radiation is unique. However, for spacetimes with a non-vanishing cosmological constant the conformal infi…
We consider the problem of quasinormal modes (QNM) for strongly hyperbolic systems on stationary, asymptotically anti-de Sitter black holes, with very general boundary conditions at infinity. We argue that for a time slicing regular at the horizon the QNM should be identified with certain H^k eigenvalues of the infinitesimal generator of the solution semigroup. Using this definition we are able to prove directly that the quasinormal frequencies form a discrete, countable subset of the complex plane, which in the globally stationary case accumulates only at infinity. We avoid any need for merom…
We consider the unique continuation properties of asymptotically Anti-de Sitter spacetimes by studying Klein-Gordon-type equations $\Box_g ϕ+ σϕ= \mathcal{G} ( ϕ, \partial ϕ)$, $σ\in \mathbb{R}$, on a large class of such spacetimes. Our main result establishes that if $ϕ$ vanishes to sufficiently high order (depending on $σ$) on a sufficiently long time interval along the conformal boundary $\mathcal{I}$, then the solution necessarily vanishes in a neighborhood of $\mathcal{I}$. In particular, in the $σ$-range where Dirichlet and Neumann conditions are possible on $\mathcal{I}$ for the forward…
We provide an infinity of spacetimes which contain part of both the Schwarzschild vacuum and de Sitter space. The transition, which occurs below the Schwarzschild event horizon, involves only boundary surfaces (no surface layers). An explicit example is given in which the weak and strong energy conditions are satisfied everywhere (except in the de Sitter section) and the dominant energy condition is violated only in the vicinity of the boundary to the Schwarzschild section. The singularity is avoided by way of a change in topology in accord with a theorem due to Borde..
In the spherically symmetric case the dominant energy condition together with the requirements of regularity at the center, asymptotic flatness and fineteness of the ADM mass, defines the family of asymptotically flat globally regular solutions to the Einstein minimally coupled equations which includes the class of metrics asymptotically de Sitter at approaching the regular center. The source term corresponds to an r-dependent cosmological term given by the second rank symmetric tensor invariant under boosts in the radial direction and evolving from de Sitter vacuum in the origin to Minkowski …
A framework conceptually based on the conformal techniques employed to study the structure of the gravitational field at infinity is set up in the context of loop quantum gravity to describe asymptotically anti-de Sitter quantum spacetimes. A conformal compactification of the spatial slice is performed, which, in terms of the rescaled metric, has now finite volume, and can thus be conveniently described by spin networks states. The conformal factor used is a physical scalar field, which has the necessary asymptotics for many asymptotically AdS black hole solutions.
It is a standard fact that trapped or marginally trapped surfaces are not visible from conformal infinity, under the usual set of conditions on matter fields and the conformal completion, provided that the cosmological constant is non-positive. In this note we show that the situation is more delicate in the presence of a positive cosmological constant: we present examples of visible marginally trapped surfaces, and we provide a set of natural conditions which guarantee non-visibility.
Radiative properties of gravitational and electromagnetic fields generated by uniformly accelerated charged black holes in asymptotically de Sitter spacetime are studied by analyzing the C-metric exact solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations with a positive cosmological constant. Its global structure and physical properties are thoroughly discussed. We explicitly find and describe the specific pattern of radiation which exhibits the dependence of the fields on a null direction along which the (spacelike) conformal infinity is approached. This directional characteristic of radiation suppleme…
In this paper, the following two propositions are proven under the dominant energy condition for the matter field in the higher-dimensional spherically symmetric spacetime in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity in the presence of a cosmological constant $Λ$. First, for $Λ\le 0$ and $α\ge 0$ without a fine-tuning to give a unique anti-de Sitter vacuum, where $α$ is the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant, vanishing generalized Misner-Sharp mass is equivalent to the maximally symmetric spacetime. Under the fine-tuning, it is equivalent to the vacuum class I spacetime. Second, under the fine-tuning with $α>…
All inextendible null geodesics in four dimensional de Sitter space dS^4 are complete and globally achronal. This achronality is related to the fact that all observer horizons in dS^4 are eternal, i.e. extend from future infinity scri^+ all the way back to past infinity scri^-. We show that the property of having a null line (inextendible achronal null geodesic) that extends from scri^- to scri^+ characterizes dS^4 among all globally hyperbolic and asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes satisfying the vacuum Einstein equations with positive cosmological constant. This result is then further exten…
We consider Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes and evaluate their mass, angular momentum and entropy according to the boundary counterterm prescription. We provide a physicall interpretation for angular velocity and angular momentum at future/past infinity. We show that the entropy of the four-dimensional Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes is less than of pure de Sitter spacetime in agreement to the entropic N-bound. Moreover, we show that maximal mass conjecture which states any asymptotically de Sitter spacetime with mass greater than de Sitter has a cosmological singularity is respected by asymptotically de …
Using asymptotic characterization results of spacetimes at conformal infinity, we prove that Kerr-Schild-de Sitter spacetimes are in one-to-one correspondence with spacetimes in the Kerr-de Sitter-like class with conformally flat $\mathscr{I}$. Kerr-Schild-de Sitter are spacetimes of Kerr-Schild form with de Sitter background that solve the $(Λ>0)$-vacuum Einstein equations and admit a smooth conformal compactification sharing $\mathscr{I}$ with the background metric. Kerr-de Sitter-like metrics with conformally flat $\mathscr{I}$ are a generalization of the Kerr-de Sitter metrics, defined ori…
Penrose's quasi-local mass construction is carried through for two-surfaces at infinity in asymptotically anti-de Sitter space-times. A modification of the Witten argument is given to prove a positivity property of the resulting conserved quantities. [This work formed part of Ron Kelly's Oxford D.Phil. thesis, and the first person pronoun refers to him. It appeared in hand-written form as `Asymptotically anti-de Sitter space-times' in Twistor Newsletter 20 (1985) pp11-23 (available at http://people.maths.ox.ac.uk/lmason/Tn/TN1-25), but is appearing type-set for the first time here. We investigate nature of asymptotically de Sitter space-times containing a black hole. We show that if the matter fields satisfy the dominant energy condition and the cosmic censorship holds in the considering space-time, the area of the cosmological event horizon for an observer approaching a future timelike infinity does not decrease, i.e. the second law is satisfied. We also show under the same conditions that the total area of the black hole and the cosmological event horizon, a quarter of which is the total Bekenstein-Hawking entropy, is less than $12π/Λ$, where $Λ$ is a cosmological cons…
In our previous paper (Phys. Rev. D 94, 104030 (2016)), inspired by the work of Allen and Turyn (Nucl. Phys. B 292, 813 (1987)), we expressed the graviton two-point function in terms of maximally symmetric bitensors in de Sitter spacetime. Quite contrary to the result of their work, however, we explicitly showed that the de Sitter symmetry breaking is universal and the associated infrared divergences cannot be gauged away. In this Letter, the origin of this contradiction, which is greatly related to the well-known scientific dispute about the infrared behavior of the graviton two-point functio…
Bubbles of nothing are a class of vacuum decay processes present in some theories with compactified extra dimensions. We investigate the existence and properties of bubbles of nothing in models where the scalar pseudomoduli controlling the size of the extra dimensions are stabilized at positive vacuum energy, which is a necessary feature of any realistic model. We map the construction of bubbles of nothing to a four-dimensional Coleman-De Luccia problem and establish necessary conditions on the asymptotic behavior of the scalar potential for the existence of suitable solutions. We perform deta…
We provide a partial characterization of the conformal infinity of asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes by deriving constraints that relate the asymptotics of the stress-energy tensor with conformal geometric data. The latter is captured using recently defined objects, called higher conformal fundamental forms. For the boundary hypersurface, these generalize to higher order the trace-free part of the second form.
Asymptotically anti-de Sitter space-times are considered in a general dimension $d\ge 4$. As one might expect, the boundary conditions at infinity ensure that the asymptotic symmetry group is the anti-de Sitter group (although there is an interesting subtlety if d=4). Asymptotic field equations imply that, associated with each generator $ξ$ of this group, there is a quantity $Q_ξ$ which satisfies the expected `balance equation' if there is flux of physical matter fields across the boundary $\I$ at infinity and is absolutely conserved in absence of this flux. Irrespective of the dimension d, al…
We present the first detailed study of the kinematics of free relativistic particles whose symmetries are described by a quantum deformation of the de Sitter algebra, known as $q$-de Sitter Hopf algebra. The quantum deformation parameter is a function of the Planck length $\ell$ and the de Sitter radius $H^{-1}$, such that when the Planck length vanishes, the algebra reduces to the de Sitter algebra, while when the de Sitter radius is sent to infinity one recovers the $κ$-Poincaré Hopf algebra. In the first limit the picture is that of a particle with trivial momentum space geometry moving on …
We examine counterparts of the Reissner-Nordstrom-anti-de Sitter black hole spacetimes in which the two-sphere has been replaced by a surface Sigma of constant negative or zero curvature. When horizons exist, the spacetimes are black holes with an asymptotically locally anti-de Sitter infinity, but the infinity topology differs from that in the asymptotically Minkowski case, and the horizon topology is not S^2. Maximal analytic extensions of the solutions are given. The local Hawking temperature is found. When Sigma is closed, we derive the first law of thermodynamics using a Brown-York type q…
The asymptotic symmetry group (ASG) at future null infinity (I^+) of four-dimensional de Sitter spacetimes is defined and shown to be given by the group of three-dimensional diffeomorphisms acting on I^+. Finite charges are constructed for each choice of ASG generator together with a two-surface on I^+. A conservation equation is derived relating the evolution of the charges with the radiation flux through I^+.
We prove uniqueness, existence, and regularity results for maximal hypersurfaces in spacetimes with a conformal completion at timelike infinity and asymptotically constant scalar curvature, as relevant for asymptotically AdS spacetimes. This work is dedicated to Yvonne Choquet-Bruhat on the occasion of her upcoming 99th birthday.
The classical Bondi-Penrose approach to the gravitational radiation theory in asymptotically flat spacetimes is recalled and recent advances in the proofs of the existence of such spacetimes are briefly reviewed. We then mention the unique role of the boost-rotation symmetric spacetimes, representing uniformly accelerated objects, as the only explicit radiative solutions known which are asymptotically flat; they are used as test beds in numerical relativity and approximation methods. The main part of the review is devoted to the examples of radiative fields in the vacuum spacetimes with positi…
We analyze the behavior of causal geodesics on a Kerr-de Sitter spacetime with particular emphasis on their completeness property. We set up an initial value problem (IVP) whose solutions lead to a global understanding of causal geodesics on these spacetime. Causal geodesics that avoid the rotation axis are complete except the ones that hit the ring-like curvature singularity and those that encounter the ring singularity are necessary equatorial ones. We also show the existence of geodesics that cross or lie on the rotation axis. The equations governing the latter family show the repulsive nat…
In this paper, we study the linear wave equations in an asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetime. We will consider the mixed boundary problem, where the initial data are given on an outgoing null hypersurface and a timelike hypersurface, and the asymptotic information is given on conformal infinity.
In this short note, we verify explicitly in static coordinates that the non trivial asymptotic Killing vectors at spatial infinity for anti-de Sitter space-times correspond one to one to the conformal Killing vectors of the conformally flat metric induced on the boundary. The fall-off conditions for the metric perturbations that guarantee finiteness of the associated conserved charges are derived.
We investigate the asymptotic symmetries of Rindler space at null infinity and at the event horizon using both systematic and ad hoc methods. We find that the approaches that yield infinite-dimensional asymptotic symmetry algebras in the case of anti-de Sitter and flat spaces only give a finite-dimensional algebra for Rindler space at null infinity. We calculate the charges corresponding to these symmetries and confirm that they are finite, conserved, and integrable, and that the algebra of charges gives a representation of the asymptotic symmetry algebra. We also use relaxed boundary conditio…
We obtain a coordinate independent algorithm to determine the class of conformal Killing vectors of a locally conformally flat $n$-metric $γ$ of signature $(r,s)$ modulo conformal transformations of $γ$. This is done in terms of endomorphisms in the pseudo-orthogonal Lie algebra $\mathfrak{o}(r+1,s+1)$ up to conjugation of the its group $O(r+1,s+1)$. The explicit classification is worked out in full for the Riemannian $γ$ case ($r = 0, s = n$). As an application of this result, we prove that the set of five dimensional, $(Λ>0)$-vacuum, algebraically special metrics with non-degenerate optical …
It is argued that the symmetry algebra of asymptotically flat spacetimes at null infinity in 4 dimensions should be taken as the semi-direct sum of supertranslations with infinitesimal local conformal transformations and not, as usually done, with the Lorentz algebra. As a consequence, two dimensional conformal field theory techniques will play as fundamental a role in this context of direct physical interest as they do in three dimensional anti-de Sitter gravity.
The symmetry algebra of asymptotically flat spacetimes at null infinity in three dimensions is the semi-direct sum of the infinitesimal diffeomorphisms on the circle with an abelian ideal of supertranslations. The associated charge algebra is shown to admit a non trivial classical central extension of Virasoro type closely related to that of the anti-de Sitter case.
The asymptotic behavior of Einstein-Rosen waves at null infinity in 4 dimensions is investigated in {\it all} directions by exploiting the relation between the 4-dimensional space-time and the 3-dimensional symmetry reduction thereof. Somewhat surprisingly, the behavior in a generic direction is {\it better} than that in directions orthogonal to the symmetry axis. The geometric origin of this difference can be understood most clearly from the 3-dimensional perspective.
Building upon the work of Brendle, Marques and Neves on the construction of counterexamples to Min-Oo's conjecture, we exhibit deformations of the de Sitter-Schwarzschild space of dimension $n\geq 3$ satisfying the dominant energy condition and agreeing with the standard metric along the event and cosmological horizons, which remain totally geodesic. Our results actually hold for generalized Kottler-de Sitter-Schwarzschild spaces whose cross sections are compact rank one symmetric spaces and indicate that there exists no analogue of the Penrose inequality in the case of positive cosmological c…
We present a covariant phase space construction of hamiltonian generators of asymptotic symmetries with `Dirichlet' boundary conditions in de Sitter spacetime, extending a previous study of Jäger. We show that the de Sitter charges so defined are identical to those of Ashtekar, Bonga, and Kesavan (ABK). We then present a comparison of ABK charges with other notions of de Sitter charges. We compare ABK charges with counterterm charges, showing that they differ only by a constant offset, which is determined in terms of the boundary metric alone. We also compare ABK charges with charges defined b…
I study the global structure of de Sitter space in the semi-classical and one-loop approximations to quantum gravity. The creation and evaporation of neutral black holes causes the fragmentation of de Sitter space into disconnected daughter universes. If the black holes are stabilized by a charge, I find that the decay leads to a necklace of de Sitter universes (`beads') joined by near-extremal black hole throats. For sufficient charge, more and more beads keep forming on the necklace, so that an unbounded number of universes will be produced. In any case, future infinity will not be connected…
We study the Maxwell quasinormal spectrum on asymptotically anti-de Sitter black holes with a set of two Robin type boundary conditions, by requiring the energy flux to vanish at asymptotic infinity. Focusing, for illustrative purposes, on Schwarzschild-anti-de Sitter black holes both without and with a global monopole, we unveil that, on the one hand, the Maxwell quasinormal spectrum bifurcates as the black hole radius increases for both boundary conditions, which is termed the mode split effect; while on the other hand, with an appropriate fixed black hole radius but increasing the monopole …
We use the auxiliary fields and (excited-) de Sitter solutions to study the standard power spectrum of primordial fluctuations of a scalar field in the early universe. The auxiliary fields are the negative norm solutions of the field equation and as it is shown, with a fixed boundary condition, utilizing these states results in a finite power spectrum without any infinity. The power spectrum is determined by the de Sitter solutions up to some corrections and the space-time symmetry is not broken in this point of view. The modulation to the power spectrum is of order $ (\frac{H}Λ)^{2} $, where …
We study the linear stability of asymptotically anti-de Sitter black holes in general relativity in spacetime dimension $d\ge4$. Our approach is an adaptation of the general framework of Hollands and Wald, which gives a stability criterion in terms of the sign of the canonical energy, $\mathcal{E}$. The general framework was originally formulated for static or stationary and axisymmetric black holes in the asymptotically flat case, and the stability analysis for that case applies only to axisymmetric perturbations. However, in the asymptotically anti-de Sitter case, the stability analysis requ…
We argue that the flat spacetime with inexact quantum mechanics in it is dual to the de Sitter spacetime with exact quantum mechanics in it, and the positive cosmological constant of this de Sitter spacetime is in the second order of the degree of the violation of the bulk quantum mechanics in the flat spacetime. The flat spacetime is holographic and has a dual time-contracted boundary conformal field theory with two redefined central charges at null infinity. The vanishing smallness of the observed positive cosmological constant suggests the extraordinary exactness of the bulk quantum mechani…
Starting from the Chern-Simons formulation, the two-dimensional dual theory for three-dimensional asymptotically flat Einstein gravity at null infinity is constructed. Solving the constraints together with suitable gauge fixing conditions gives in a first stage a chiral Wess-Zumino-Witten like model based on the Poincaré algebra in three dimensions. The next stage involves a Hamiltonian reduction to a BMS3 invariant Liouville theory. These results are connected to those originally derived in the anti-de Sitter case by rephrasing the latter in a suitable gauge before taking their flat-space lim…
