Almost Monotonicity Formula for H-minimal Legendrian Surfaces in the Heisenberg Group

We prove an almost monotonicity formula for H-minimal Legendrian Surfaces (also called {\it contact stationary legendrian immersions}) in the Heisenberg Group ${\mathbb H}^2$ . From this formula we deduce a Bernstein-Liouville type theorem for H-minimal Legendrian Surfaces. This last result happens to be in particular a central ingredient in the analysis part of the proof of the Willmore conjecture given by the author in arXiv:2007.05467

Moduli of Legendrian foliations and quadratic differentials in the Heisenberg group

The aim of the paper is to prove the following result concerning moduli of curve families in the Heisenberg group. Let $Ω$ be a domain in the Heisenberg group foliated by a family $Γ$ of legendrian curves. Assume that there is a quadratic differential $q$ on $Ω$ in the kernel of an operator defined in \cite{Tim2} and every curve in $Γ$ is a horizontal trajectory for $q$. Let $l_Γ: Ω\rightarrow ]0,+\infty[$ be the function that associates to a point $p\in Ω$, the $q$-length of the leaf containing $p$. Then, the modulus of $Γ$ is \[ M_4 (Γ) = \int_Ω\frac{|q|^2}{(l_Γ) ^4} \mathrm{d} L^3.\]

Regularity of non-characteristic minimal graphs in the Heisenberg group $H^1$

Minimal surfaces in the sub-Riemannian Heisenberg group can be constructed by means of a Riemannian approximation scheme, as limit of Riemannian minimal surfaces. We study the regularity of Lipschitz, non-characteristic minimal surfaces which arise as such limits. Our main results are a-priori estimates on the solutions of the approximating Riemannian PDE and the ensuing $C^{\infty}$ regularity of the sub-Riemannian minimal surface along its Legendrian foliation.

Sub-Finsler Heisenberg Perimeter Measures

This work is an investigation of perimeter measures in the metric measure space given by the Heisenberg group with Haar measure and a Carnot-Carathéodory metric, which is in general a sub-Finsler metric. Regularity of C^{1} smooth surfaces with prescribed p-mean curvature in the Heisenberg group

We consider a $C^{1}$ smooth surface with prescribed $p$(or $H$)-mean curvature in the 3-dimensional Heisenberg group. Assuming only the prescribed $p$-mean curvature $H\in C^{0},$ we show that any characteristic curve is $C^{2}$ smooth and its (line) curvature equals $-H$ in the nonsingular domain$.$ By introducing characteristic coordinates and invoking the jump formulas along characteristic curves, we can prove that the Legendrian (or horizontal) normal gains one more derivative. Metric differentiation, monotonicity and maps to L^1

We give a new approach to the infinitesimal structure of Lipschitz maps into L^1. As a first application, we give an alternative proof of the main theorem from an earlier paper, that the Heisenberg group does not admit a bi-Lipschitz embedding in L^1. The proof uses the metric differentiation theorem of Pauls and the cut metric decomposition to reduce the nonembedding argument to a classification of monotone subsets of the Heisenberg group.

Minimal surfaces in pseudohermitian geometry

We consider surfaces immersed in three-dimensional pseudohermitian manifolds. We define the notion of (p-)mean curvature and of the associated (p-)minimal surfaces, extending some concepts previously given for the (flat) Heisenberg group.
