We investigate the influence of strong dichromatic laser fields (i.e. 1ω-2ω and 1ω-3ω) with high-frequency limit on the cross sections of deuteron-triton(DT) fusion in Kramers-Henneberger(KH) frame. We focus on the transitions of phase-dependent effects depending on a dimensionless quantity n_{d} , which equals the ratio of the quiver oscillation amplitude to the geometrical touching radius of the deuteron and triton as defined in our previous research. Theoretical calculations show that the angle-dependent as well as phase-dependent Coulomb barrier penetrabilities can be enhanced in dichromatic intense fields, and the corresponding angle-averaged penetrabilities and the fusion cross sections increase significantly compared with field-free case. Moreover, we find that there are twice shifts of the peak in the cross sections whenever the frequency becomes sufficiently low or the intensity sufficiently high. The reason for the first shift is the angle-dependence effects for sub-barrier fusion, while the second shift is due to the accumulation of over-barrier fusion, these mechanisms are analyzed in detail in this paper.
Determination of the proper power-counting scheme is an important issue for the systematic application of Chiral Effective Field Theory in nuclear physics. We analyze the cutoff dependence of three-nucleon observables (the neutron-deuteron scattering lengths and the triton binding energy) at the leading and next-to-leading orders of a power counting that ensures order-by-order renormalization in the two-nucleon system. Our results imply that three-body forces are not needed for renormalization of the three-nucleon system up to next-to-leading order, as usually assumed in the literature. (Errat…
Based on the statistical theory of light nucleus reactions (STLN), the description of the complicated emission processes of proton and light composite charged particles are further improved through considering the effects of Coulomb barriers both in incident and different outgoing reaction channels. And the analysis of the reaction channels including the sequential and simultaneous emission processes for $p + ^7$Li reaction is performed in detail. So the partial spectra of all of outgoing particles are also obtained for different reaction processes. The calculated double differential cross sec…
We investigate deuteron-triton (DT) fusion in the presence of linearly polarized strong electromagnetic fields in high-frequency limit, in which a complex spherical square-well potential is exploited to describe the nuclear potential. Within the framework of the Kramers-Henneberger (KH) transformation, we have calculated the total and angular differential fusion cross sections by investigating the asymptotical phase shifts of the Coulomb wavefunctions. With introducing a dimensionless quantity of $n_d$ representing the ratio of the particle quiver oscillation amplitude to the radius of nuclear…
Deuteron-triton (DT) fusion is the primary fusion reaction used in controlled fusion research, mainly for its relatively high reaction cross sections compared to other fusion options. Even so, to attain appreciable reaction probabilities very high temperatures (on the order of 10-100 million kelvins) are required, which are extremely challenging to achieve and maintain. We show that intense low-frequency laser fields, such as those in the near-infrared regime for the majority of intense laser facilities around the world, are highly effective in transferring energy to the DT system and enhancin…
The emergence of Efimov levels in a three-body system is investigated near the unitarity limit characterized by resonating two-body interaction. No direct evidence of Efimov levels is seen in the three-nucleon system since the triton is the only physical bound state. We provide a model-independent analysis of nucleon-deuteron scattering at low energy by formulating a consistent effective field theory. We show that virtual states evolve into shallow bound states, which emerge as excited triton levels as we drive the system towards unitarity. Even though we consider this specific system, our res…
We study the transverse momentum spectra of light nuclei (deuteron, anti-deuteron and triton) produced in Gold-Gold (Au-Au) collisions in different centrality bins by the blast wave model with Tsallis statistics. The model results are in agreement with the experimental data measured by STAR Collaboration in special transverse momentum ranges. We extracted the kinetic freezeout temperature, transverse flow velocity and kinetic freezeout volume. It is observed that kinetic freezeout temperature and transverse flow velocity increases initially, and then saturates from 14.5-39 GeV, while the kinet…
Effective field theory (EFT) has been recently used for the calculation of neutron-deuteron radiative capture at very low energies. We present here the use of EFT to calculate the two-body photodisintegration of the triton, considering the three-body force. The calculated cross section shows sharp rising from threshold to maximum about 0.88 mb at 13 MeV and decreasing slightly to about 0.81 mb at 19 MeV, in agreement with the experimental data. Our results are in good agreement with the experimental data and the other calculations using modern realistic two- and three-nucleon forces, like AV18/…
The muon-capture reactions 2H(μ^-,ν_μ)nn and 3He(μ^-,ν_μ)3H are studied with nuclear strong-interaction potentials and charge-changing weak currents, derived in chiral effective field theory. The low-energy constants (LEC's) c_D and c_E, present in the three-nucleon potential and (c_D) axial-vector current, are constrained to reproduce the A=3 binding energies and the triton Gamow-Teller matrix element. The vector weak current is related to the isovector component of the electromagnetic current via the conserved-vector-current constraint, and the two LEC's entering the contact terms in the lat…
Light (anti-)nuclei in relativistic heavy-ion collisions are considered to be formed by the coalescence mechanism of (anti-)nucleons in the present work. Using a dynamical phase-space coalescence model coupled with a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model, we explore the formation of light clusters such as deuteron, triton and their anti-particles in different centralities for $^{197}$Au + $^{197}$Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 39$ GeV. The calculated transverse momentum spectra of protons, deuterons, and tritons are comparable to those of experimental data from the RHIC-STAR collaboration. Bot…
The axial charge of the triton is investigated using lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Extending previous work at heavier quark masses, calculations are performed using three ensembles of gauge field configurations generated with quark masses corresponding to a pion mass of 450 MeV. Finite-volume energy levels for the triton, as well as for the deuteron and diproton systems, are extracted from analysis of correlation functions computed on these ensembles, and the corresponding energies are extrapolated to infinite volume using finite-volume pionless effective field theory (FVEFT). It is fo…
An effective field theory is used to describe light nuclei, calculated from quantum chromodynamics on a lattice at unphysically large pion masses. The theory is calibrated at leading order to two available data sets on two- and three-body nuclei for two pion masses. At those pion masses we predict the quartet and doublet neutron-deuteron scattering lengths, and the alpha-particle binding energy. For $m_π=510~$MeV we obtain, respectively, $^4a_{\rm nD}=2.3\pm 1.3~$fm, $^2a_{\rm nD}=2.2\pm 2.1~$fm, and $B_α^{}=35\pm 22~$MeV, while for $m_π=805~$MeV $^4a_{\rm nD}=1.6\pm 1.3~$fm, $^2a_{\rm nD}=0.6…
We take a new look at the neutron radiative capture by a deuteron at thermal energy with the pionless effective field theory (EFT($π\!\!\!/$)) approach. We present in detail the calculation of $nd\rightarrow$ $^3Hγ$ amplitudes for incoming doublet and quartet channels leading to the formation of a triton fully in the projection method based on the cluster-configuration space approach. In the present work, we consider all possible one-body and two-body photon interaction diagrams. In fact, additional diagrams that make significant changes in the results of the calculation of the total cross sec…
We use the breakup absorption model to simultaneously describe the measured cross-sections of the Complete fusion (CF), Incomplete fusion (ICF), and Total fusion (TF) in nuclear reactions induced by weakly bound nuclei $^{6,7}$Li on $^{209}$Bi and $^{198}$Pt targets. The absorption cross-sections are calculated using the Continuum Discretized Coupled Channels (CDCC) method with different choices of short range imaginary potentials to get the ICF, CF and TF cross-sections. It is observed that the cross-sections for deuteron-ICF/deuteron-capture are of similar magnitude as the $α$-ICF/$α$-captur…
Calculations of inclusive $α$ particle production are performed to interpret reaction experimental data induced by the two-neutron halo $^6$He and the isotopes $^{6,7}$Li on different target nuclei. We have implemented the zero-range post-form DWBA to compute the elastic and nonelastic breakup cross sections. Integrated cross sections, angular distributions and spectra are presented. Projectiles are approximated as two-body clusters, namely $^6$He as $α$+dineutron and $^{6}$Li ($^{7}$Li) interpreted as $α$+deuteron(triton). The São Paulo optical potential is employed in the calculation of the …
