Within the framework of the dinuclear system model, the preequilibrium emission of neutron, proton, deuteron, triton, $^{3}$He, $α$, $^{6}$Li, $^{7}$Li, $^{8}$Be and $^{9}$Be in the transfer reactions of $^{12}$C + $^{209}$Bi, $^{40,48}$Ca+$^{238}$U, $^{238}$U+$^{238}$U and $^{238}$U+$^{248}$Cm has been systematically investigated. The production rate, kinetic energy spectra and emission angular distribution are calculated. It is found that the preequilibrium emission mechanism is associated with the reaction system and beam energy. The preequilibrium cross sections of proton, deuteron, triton and alpha are comparable in magnitude. The reaction with $^{40}$Ca is favorable for the cluster emission in comparison with $^{48}$Ca on $^{238}$U at the near barrier energy. A broad angular distribution of the preequilibrium cluster is found in the heavy systems $^{238}$U+$^{238}$U and $^{238}$U+$^{248}$Cm.
We investigate the role of deformation on the fusion probability around the barrier using the Time-Dependent Hartree-Fock theory with a full Skyrme force. We obtain a distribution of fusion probabilities around the nominal barrier due to the different contributions of the various orientations of the deformed nucleus at the touching point. It is also shown that the long range Coulomb reorientation reduces the fusion probability around the barrier.
The effect of continuum couplings in the fusion of the halo nucleus $^{11}$Be on $^{208}$Pb around the Coulomb barrier is studied using a three-body model within a coupled discretised continuum channels (CDCC) formalism. We investigate in particular the role of continuum-continuum couplings. These are found to hinder total, complete and incomplete fusion processes. Couplings to the projectile $1p_{1/2}$ bound excited state redistribute the complete and incomplete fusion cross sections, but the total fusion cross section remains nearly constant. Results show that continuum-continuum couplings e…
Coulomb barrier height is a basic parameter to describing the nuclear reactions. Recently it is found that ions produce from nuclear reactions can be used to study electron loss and capture processes. Hence determining the Coulomb barrier becomes important in both nuclear and atomic physics. The different models depend on the nucleus-nucleus potential chosen or parameters used to calculate the barrier heights. In this work we plan to develop a parameterized formula from experimental results obtained from quasi elastic scattering. Since quasi elastic data spread over Z1Z2=64 to Z1Z2=2460, the f…
The breakup of the $^{9}$Be projectile on the $^{209}$Bi target at bombarding energies above and near the Coulomb barrier is studied in the adiabatic two-center shell model approach. The effect of $^{9}$Be$% \to $n$+2α$ breakup channel on complete fusion, elastic and inelastic cross sections is investigated. Results show that the breakup of the projectile $^{9}$Be could be due to a molecular single-particle effect shortly before the colliding nuclei reach the Coulomb barrier.
We carry out realistic coupled-channels calculations for $^{11}$Be + $^{208}$Pb reaction in order to discuss the effects of break-up of the projectile nucleus on sub-barrier fusion. We discretize in energy the particle continuum states, which are associated with the break-up process, and construct the coupling form factors to these states on a microscopic basis. The incoming boundary condition is employed in solving coupled-channels equations, which enables us to define the flux for complete fusion inside the Coulomb barrier. It is shown that complete fusion cross sections are significantly en…
The nucleus-nucleus interaction potentials in heavy-ion fusion reactions are extracted from the microscopic time-dependent Hartree-Fock theory for mass symmetric reactions $^{16}$O${}+^{16}$O, $^{40}$Ca${}+^{40}$Ca, $^{48}$Ca${}+^{48}$Ca and mass asymmetric reactions $^{16}$O$ +^{40,48}$Ca, $^{40}$Ca${}+^{48}$Ca, $^{16}$O+$^{208}$Pb, $^{40}$Ca+$^{90}$Zr. When the center-of-mass energy is much higher than the Coulomb barrier energy, potentials deduced with the microscopic theory identify with the frozen density approximation. As the center-of-mass energy decreases and approaches the Coulomb bar…
We investigate projectile breakup effects on 6Li+209Bi elastic scattering near the Coulomb barrier with the four-body version of the continuum-discretized coupled-channel method (four-body CDCC). This is the first application of four-body CDCC to 6Li elastic scattering. The elastic scattering is well described by the p+n+4He+209Bi four-body model. We propose a reasonable three-body model for describing the four-body scattering, clarifying four-body dynamics of the elastic scattering.
We accurately analyze the $^6$He+$^{209}$Bi scattering at 19 and 22.5 MeV near the Coulomb barrier energy, using the continuum-discretized coupled-channels method (CDCC) based on the $n$+$n$+$^4$He+$^{209}$Bi four-body model. The three-body breakup continuum of $^6$He is discretized by diagonalizing the internal Hamiltonian of $^6$He in a space spanned by the Gaussian basis functions. The calculated elastic and total reaction cross sections are in good agreement with the experimental data, while the CDCC calculation based on the di-neutron model of $^6$He, i.e., the $^2n$+$^{4}$He+$^{209}$Bi t…
The shell correction is proposed in the improved isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics (ImIQMD) model, which plays an important role in heavy-ion fusion reactions near Coulomb barrier. By using the ImIQMD model, the static and dynamical fusion barriers, dynamical barrier distribution in the fusion reactions are analyzed systematically. The fusion and capture excitation functions for a series of reaction systems are calculated and compared with experimental data. It is found that the fusion cross sections for neutron-rich systems increase obviously, and the strong shell effects of two co…
Dissipation and fluctuations of one-body observables in heavy-ion reactions around the Coulomb barrier are investigated with a microscopic stochastic mean-field approach. By projecting the stochastic mean-field dynamics on a suitable collective path, transport coefficients associated with the relative distance between colliding nuclei and a fragment mass are extracted. Although microscopic mean-field approach is know to underestimate the variance of fragment mass distribution, the description of the variance is much improved by the stochastic mean-field method. While fluctuations are consisten…
The $α$-particle production in the dissociation of $^{9}$Be on $^{209}$Bi and $^{64}$Zn at energies just above the Coulomb barrier is studied within the two-center shell model approach. The dissociation of $^{9}$Be on $^{209}$Bi is caused by a molecular single-particle effect (Landau-Zener mechanism) before the nuclei reach the Coulomb barrier. Molecular single-particle effects do not occur at that stage of the collision for $^{9}$Be+$^{64}$Zn, and this explains the absence of fusion suppression observed for this system. The polarisation of the energy level of the last neutron of $^{9}$Be and,…
Classical mechanics and Time Dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) calculations of heavy ions collisions are performed to study the rotation of a deformed nucleus in the Coulomb field of its partner. This reorientation is shown to be independent on charges and relative energy of the partners. It only depends upon the deformations and inertias. TDHF calculations predict an increase by 30% of the induced rotation due to quantum effects while the nuclear contribution seems negligible. This reorientation modifies strongly the fusion cross-section around the barrier for light deformed nuclei on heavy colli…
Based on an approach recently proposed by us, simultaneous $χ^{2}$-analyses are performed for elastic scattering, direct reaction (DR) and fusion cross sections data for the $^{6}$He+$^{209}$Bi system at near-Coulomb-barrier energies to determine the parameters of the polarization potential consisting of DR and fusion parts. We show that the data are well reproduced by the resultant potential, which also satisfies the proper dispersion relation. A discussion is given of the nature of the threshold anomaly seen in the potential.
Total (complete + incomplete) fusion excitation functions of $^{6,7}$Li on $^{59}$Co and $^{209}$Bi targets around the Coulomb barrier are obtained using a new continuum discretized coupled channel (CDCC) method of calculating fusion. The relative importance of breakup and bound-state structure effects on total fusion is particularly investigated. The effect of breakup on fusion can be observed in the total fusion excitation function. The breakup enhances the total fusion at energies just around the barrier, whereas it hardly affects the total fusion at energies well above the barrier. The dif…
By using the updated improved Quantum Molecular Dynamics model in which a surface-symmetry potential term has been introduced for the first time, the excitation functions for fusion reactions of $^{40,48}$Ca+$^{90,96}$Zr at energies around the Coulomb barrier have been studied. The experimental data of the fusion cross sections for $^{40}$Ca+$^{90,96}$Zr have been reproduced remarkably well without introducing any new parameters. The fusion cross sections for the neutron-rich fusion reactions of $^{48}$Ca+$^{90,96}$Zr around the Coulomb barrier are predicted to be enhanced compared with a non-…
In order to describe heavy-ion fusion reactions around the Coulomb barrier with an actinide target nucleus, we propose a model which combines the coupled-channels approach and a fluctuation-dissipation model for dynamical calculations. This model takes into account couplings to the collective states of the interacting nuclei in the penetration of the Coulomb barrier and the subsequent dynamical evolution of a nuclear shape from the contact configuration. In the fluctuation-dissipation model with a Langevin equation, the effect of nuclear orientation at the initial impact on the prolately defor…
Background: Recent high-precision measurements of alpha-induced reaction data below the Coulomb barrier have pointed out questions of the alpha-particle optical-model potential (OMP) which are yet open within various mass ranges. Purpose: The applicability of a previous optical potential and eventual uncertainties and/or systematic errors of the OMP assessment at low energies can be further considered on this basis. Method: Nuclear model parameters based on the analysis of recent independent data, particularly gamma-ray strength functions, have been involved within statistical model calculatio…
Cross sections for $^{40}$Ca + $α$ at low energies have been calculated from two different models and three different $α$-nucleus potentials. The first model determines the cross sections from the barrier transmission in a real nuclear potential. Second, cross sections are derived within the optical model using a complex nuclear potential. The excitation functions from barrier transmission are smooth whereas the excitation functions from the optical model show a significant sensitivity to the chosen imaginary potential. Cross sections far below the Coulomb barrier are lower from barrier transm…
We present an optical model (OM) analysis of the elastic scattering data of the reactions 6He+27Al and 6He+208Pb at incident energies around the Coulomb barrier. The bare part of the optical potential is constructed microscopically by means of a double folding procedure, using the Sao Paulo prescription without any renormalization. This bare interaction is supplemented with a Coulomb dipole polarization (CDP) potential, which takes into account the effect of the dipole Coulomb interaction. For this CDP potential, we use an analytical formula derived from the semiclassical theory of Coulomb exc…
Based on the extended optical model approach in which the polarization potential is decomposed into direct reaction (DR) and fusion parts, simultaneous $χ^{2}$ analyses are performed for elastic scattering and fusion cross section data for the $^{6}$Li+$^{208}$Pb system at near-Coulomb-barrier energies. A folding potential is used as the bare potential. It is found that the real part of the resultant DR part of the polarization potential is repulsive, which is consistent with the results from the Continuum Discretized Coupled Channel (CDCC) calculations and the normalization factors needed for…
The fusion of two interacting heavy ions traditionally has been interpreted in terms of the penetration of the projectile into the target. Observed rates well below the Coulomb barrier are considerably lower than estimates obtained from penetration factors. One approach in the analysis of the data invokes coupling to non-elastic channels in the scattering as the source of the depletion. Another is to analyze those data in terms of tunneling in semi-classical models, with the observed depletion being taken as evidence of a ``friction'' under the barrier. A complementary approach is to consider …
Comparing the capture cross sections calculated without the breakup effect and experimental complete fusion cross sections, the breakup was analyzed in reactions with weakly bound projectiles $^{6,7,9}$Li, $^{9,11}$Be, and $^{6,8}$He. A trend of a systematic behavior for the complete fusion suppression as a function of the target charge and bombarding energy is not achieved. The quasielastic backscattering is suggested to be an useful tool to study the behavior of the breakup probability in reactions with weakly bound projectiles.
Based on the extended optical model with the double folding potential, in which the polarization potential is decomposed into direct reaction (DR) and fusion parts, simultaneous $χ^{2}$ analyses are performed of elastic scattering and fusion cross section data for the $^{9}$Be+$^{28}$Si, $^{144}$Sm, and $^{208}$Pb systems at near-Coulomb-barrier energies. We find that the real part of the resultant DR part of the polarization potential is systematically repulsive for all the targets considered, which is consistent with the results deduced from the Continuum Discretized Coupled Channel (CDCC) c…
The elastic and alpha-production channels for the 6He+208Pb reaction are investigated at energies around the Coulomb barrier (E_{lab}=14, 16, 18, 22, and 27 MeV). The effect of the two-neutron transfer channels on the elastic scattering has been studied within the Coupled-Reaction-Channels (CRC) method. We find that the explicit inclusion of these channels allows a simultaneous description of the elastic data and the inclusive alpha cross sections at backward angles. Three-body Continuum-Discretized Coupled-Channels (CDCC) calculations are found to reproduce the elastic data, but not the trans…
Based on the extended optical model approach in which the polarization potential is decomposed into direct reaction (DR) and fusion parts, simultaneous $χ^{2}$ analyses are performed for elastic scattering, DR, and fusion cross section data for the $^{9}$Be+$^{208}$Pb system at near-Coulomb-barrier energies. Similar $χ^{2}$ analyses are also performed by only taking into account the elastic scattering and fusion data as was previously done by the present authors, and the results are compared with those of the full analysis including the DR cross section data as well. We find that the analyses …
Background: Further studies of high-precision measurements of alpha-induced reaction data below the Coulomb barrier have still raised questions about the alpha-particle optical model potential (OMP) within various mass ranges, i.e. for 64Zn, 108Cd, 113,115In, 121,123Sb, and 191,193Ir target nuclei. Purpose: The accuracy as well as eventual uncertainties and/or systematic errors of using a previous optical potential are much better considered by analysis of such accurate data. Method: Statistical model (SM) calculations of the (alpha,x) reaction cross sections have been carried out using model …
We perform exact coupled-channels calculations, taking into account properly the effects of Coulomb coupling and the finite excitation energy of collective excitations in the colliding nuclei, for three Fm formation reactions, $^{37}$Cl + $^{209}$Bi, $^{45}$Sc + $^{197}$Au, and $^{59}$Co + $^{181}$Ta. For the $^{37}$Cl + $^{209}$Bi and $^{45}$Sc + $^{197}$Au reactions, those calculations well reproduce the experimental total fission cross sections, and a part of the extra-push phenomena can be explained in terms of the Coulomb excitations to multi-phonon states. On the other hand, for the heav…
The vast knowledge of strong influence of quadrupole deformation $β_2$ of colliding nuclei on heavy-ion subbarrier fusion reactions inspires a desire to quest the sensitivity of fusion dynamics to higher order deformations, such as $β_4$ and $β_6$ deformations. However, such studies have rarely been carried out, especially for deformation of projectile nuclei. In this article, we investigated the role of $β_4$ of the projectile nucleus in fusion of the $^{28}$Si + $^{92}$Zr system. We demonstrated that the fusion barrier distribution is sensitive to the sign and the value of the $β_4$ paramete…
The elastic scattering of the halo nucleus $^6$He from heavy targets at incident energies near the Coulomb barrier displays a marked deviation from the standard Fresnel-type diffraction behavior. This deviation is due to the strong Coulomb dipole breakup coupling produced by the Coulomb field of the heavy target, a specific feature of the nuclear structure of $^6$He. We have performed Continuum Discretized Coupled Channels calculations for the elastic scattering of $^{6}$He and $^6$Li from $^{58}$Ni, $^{120}$Sn, $^{144}$Sm, $^{181}$Ta and $^{208}$Pb targets in order to determine the range of $…
Simultaneous $χ^{2}$ analyses previously made for elastic scattering and fusion cross section data for the $^{6}$Li+$^{208}$Pb system is extended to the $^{7}$Li+$^{208}$Pb system at near-Coulomb-barrier energies based on the extended optical model approach, in which the polarization potential is decomposed into direct reaction (DR) and fusion parts. Use is made of the double folding potential as a bare potential. It is found that the experimental elastic scattering and fusion data are well reproduced without introducing any normalization factor for the double folding potential and that both t…
The $^{10}$B+$^{120}$Sn reaction has been systematically studied at laboratory energies around the Coulomb barrier: E$_{\rm LAB}=$31.5, 33.5, 35.0, and 37.5 MeV. Cross sections for the elastic scattering and some reaction processes have been measured: excitation to the $1^+$ state of $^{10}$B; excitation to the $2^+$ and $3^-$ states of $^{120}$Sn; and the one-neutron pick-up transfer $^{120}$Sn($^{10}$B,$^{11}$B)$^{119}$Sn. Coupled reaction channel (CRC) calculations have been performed in the context of the double-folding São Paulo potential. The theoretical calculations result in a good ove…
Simultaneous $χ^{2}$ analyses are performed for elastic scattering and fusion cross section data for the $^{12}$C+$^{208}$Pb system at near-Coulomb-barrier energies by using the extended optical model approach in which the polarization potential is decomposed into direct reaction (DR) and fusion parts. Use is made of the double folding potential as a bare potential. It is found that the experimental elastic scattering and fusion data are well reproduced without introducing any normalization factor for the double folding potential and also that both DR and fusion parts of the polarization poten…
Systematic calculations of the Coulomb barrier parameters for collisions of spherical nuclei are performed within the framework of the double folding approach. The value of the parameter $B_Z=Z_PZ_T/(A^{1/3}_P+(A^{1/3}_P)$ (which estimates the Coulomb barrier height) varies in these calculations from 10 MeV up to 150 MeV. The nuclear densities came from the Hartree-Fock calculations which reproduce the experimental charge densities with good accuracy. For the nucleon-nucleon effective interaction two analytical approximations known in the literature are used: the M3Y and Migdal forces. The cal…
An approach is proposed to calculate the direct reaction (DR) and fusion probabilities for heavy ion collisions at near-Coulomb-barrier energies as functions of the distance of closest approach D within the framework of the optical model that introduces two types of imaginary potentials, DR and fusion. The probabilities are calculated by using partial DR and fusion cross sections, together with the classical relations associated with the Coulomb trajectory. Such an approach makes it possible to analyze the data for angular distributions of the inclusive DR cross section, facilitating the deter…
Despite the supposed simplicity of double-closed shell nuclei, conventional coupled-channels calculations, that include all of the known collective states of the target and projectile, give a poor fit to the fusion cross section for the $^{16}$O + $^{208}$Pb system. The discrepancies are highlighted through the experimental barrier distribution and logarithmic derivative, that are both well defined by the precise experimental fusion data available. In order to broaden our search for possible causes for this anomaly, we revisit this system and include in our calculations a large number of non-c…
Starting from the WKB approximation, a new barrier penetration formula is proposed for potential barriers containing a long-range Coulomb interaction. This formula is especially proper for the barrier penetration with penetration energy much lower than the Coulomb barrier. The penetrabilities calculated from the new formula agree well with the results from the WKB method. As a first attempt, this new formula is used to evaluate alpha decay half-lives of atomic nuclei and a good agreement with the experiment is obtained.
With the recent availability of state-of-the-art heavy-ion stable and radioactive beams, there has been a renew interest in the investigation of nuclear reactions with heavy ions. I first present the role of inelastic and transfer channel couplings in fusion reactions induced by stable heavy ions. Analysis of experimental fusion cross sections by using standard coupled-channel calculations is discussed. The role of multi-neutron transfer is investigated in the fusion process below the Coulomb barrier by analyzing $^{32}$S+$^{90,96}$Zr as benchmark reactions. The enhancement of fusion cross sec…
The multinucleon transfer reactions near barrier energies has been investigated with a multistep model based on the dinuclear system (DNS) concept, in which the capture of two colliding nuclei, the transfer dynamics and the de-excitation process of primary fragments are described by the analytical formula, the diffusion theory and the statistical model, respectively. The nucleon transfer takes place after forming the DNS and is coupled to the dissipation of relative motion energy and angular momentum by solving a set of microscopically derived master equations within the potential energy surfa…

We discuss two recent topics on heavy-ion quasi-elastic scattering at energies around the Coulomb barrier. The first topic is an application of quasi-elastic scattering at deep-subbarrier energies to extracting the surface diffuseness parameter of the nucleus-nucleus potential. The second topic is a coupled-channels analysis for the quasi-elastic barrier distribution for the $^{70}$Zn + $^{208}$Pb reaction. We show that the coupled-channels calculations which include the multi-phonon excitations in the colliding nuclei reproduce reasonably well the experimental excitation function for quasi-el…
Nucleus-nucleus interaction potentials in heavy-ion fusion reactions are extracted from the microscopic time-dependent Hartree-Fock theory. When the center-of-mass energy is much higher than the Coulomb barrier energy, extracted potentials identify with the frozen density approximation. As the center-of-mass energy decreases to the Coulomb barrier energy, potentials become energy dependent. This dependence indicates dynamical reorganization of internal degrees of freedom and leads to a reduction of the "apparent" barrier. Including this effect leads to the Coulomb barrier energy very close to …
We investigate heavy-ion multinucleon transfer reactions using the coupled-channels formalism. We first use the semi-classical approximation and show that a direct coupling between the entrance and the pair transfer channels improves a fit to the experimental one- and two-neutron transfer cross sections for the 40Ca+96Zr and 60Ni+116Sn systems. We then discuss the validity of the perturbative approach and highlight the effect of high order terms. The effect of absorption is also investigated for energies around the Coulomb barrier. Finally, we use a quantal coupled-channels approach to achieve…
Within the framework of the dinuclear system model, the reaction mechanisms for synthesizing target-like isotopes from Bk to compound nuclei Lv are thoroughly investigated in complete and incomplete fusion reaction of $^{48}$Ca +$^{248}$Cm around Coulomb barrier energies. Production cross-section of $^{292,293}$Lv as a function of excitation energy in fusion-evaporation reactions and target-like isotopic yields in multinucleon transfer reactions are evaluated, in which a statistical approach is used to describe the decay process of excited nuclei. The available experimental data can be reprodu…
Transverse emission of preequilibrium nucleons, light clusters (complex particles) and charged pions from the isotopic $^{112,124}$Sn+$^{112,124}$Sn reactions at a beam energy of 400\emph{A} MeV, to extract the high-density behavior of nuclear symmetry energy, are investigated within an isospin and momentum dependent transport model. Specifically, the double ratios of neutron/proton, triton/helium-3 and $π^{-}/π^{+}$ in the squeeze-out domain are analyzed systematically, which have the advantage of reducing the influence of the Coulomb force and less systematic errors. It is found that the tra…
We study beams of medium-energy electrons and positrons which obey the Dirac equation and scatter from nuclei with $Z > 100.$ At small distances the potential is modelled to be that of a charged sphere. A large peak is found in the probability of positron penetration to the origin for $Z \approx 184.$ This may be understood as an example of Klein tunnelling through the Coulomb barrier: it is the analogue of the Klein Paradox for the Coulomb potential.
A large number of complete fusion excitation functions of reactions including the breakup channel were measured in recent decades, especially in the last few years. It allows us to investigate the systematic behavior of the breakup effects on the complete fusion cross sections. To this end, we perform a systematic study of the breakup effects on the complete fusion cross sections at energies above the Coulomb barrier. The reduced fusion functions F(x) are compared with the universal fusion functions which are used as a uniform standard reference. The complete fusion cross sections at energies …
Complete fusion excitation functions of reactions involving breakup are studied by using the empirical coupled-channel (ECC) model with breakup effects considered. An exponential function with two parameters is adopted to describe the prompt-breakup probability in the ECC model. These two parameters are fixed by fitting the measured prompt-breakup probability or the complete fusion cross sections. The suppression of complete fusion at energies above the Coulomb barrier is studied by comparing the data with the predictions from the ECC model without the breakup channel considered. The results s…
We investigate the 9Be + 208Pb elastic scattering and fusion at energies around the Coulomb barrier. The $^9$Be nucleus is described in a α+ α+ n three-body model, using the hyperspherical coordinate method. The scattering with $^{208}$Pb is then studied with the Continuum Discretized Coupled Channel (CDCC) method, where the α+ α+ n continuum is approximated by a discrete number of pseudostates. Optical potentials for the $α+^{208}$Pb and $n+^{208}$Pb systems are taken from the literature. We present elastic-scattering and fusion cross sections at different energies, and investigate the conver…
New experimental data from the scattering of 6He+208Pb at energies around and below the Coulomb barrier are presented. The yield of breakup products coming from projectile fragmentation is dominated by a strong group of $α$ particles. The energy and angular distributions of this group have been analyzed and compared with theoretical calculations. This analysis indicates that the $α$ particles emitted at backward angles in this reaction are mainly due to two-neutron transfer to weakly bound states of the final nucleus.
The cross sections of complete fusion and incomplete fusion for the $ ^{9} $Be + $ ^{197} $Au system, at energies not too much above the Coulomb barrier, were measured for the first time. The online activation followed by offline $γ$-ray spectroscopy method was used for the derivation of the cross sections. A slightly higher value of ICF/TF ratio has been observed, compared to other systems reported in the literature with $ ^{9} $Be beam. The experimental data were compared with coupled channel calculations without taking into account the coupling of the breakup channel, and experimental data …
The complete and incomplete fusion cross sections for $^{7}$Li+$^{124}$Sn reaction were measured using online and offline characteristic $γ$-ray detection techniques. The complete fusion (CF) cross sections at energies above the Coulomb barrier were found to be suppressed by $\sim$ 26 \% compared to the coupled channel calculations. This suppression observed in complete fusion cross sections is found to be commensurate with the measured total incomplete fusion (ICF) cross sections. There is a distinct feature observed in the ICF cross sections, i.e., $\textit{t}$-capture is found to be dominan…
We investigate the nuclear and the Coulomb contributions to the breakup cross sections of $^6$Li in collisions with targets in different mass ranges. Comparing cross sections for different targets at collision energies corresponding to the same $E/V_{\mathrm{\scriptscriptstyle B}}$, we obtain interesting scaling laws. First, we derive an approximate linear expression for the nuclear breakup cross section as a function of $A_{\mathrm{% \scriptscriptstyle T}}^{1/3}$. We then confirm the validity of this expression performing CDCC calculations. Scaling laws for the Coulomb breakup cross section a…
