In this paper we present a consolidated equation for all low-field transport coefficients, based on a reservoir approach developed for non-interacting quasiparticles. This formalism allows us to treat the two distinct types of charged (fermionic and bosonic) quasiparticles that can be simultaneously present, as for example in superconductors. Indeed, in the underdoped cuprate superconductors these two types of carriers result in two onset temperatures with distinct features in transport: $T^*$, where the fermions first experience an excitation (pseudo)gap, and $T_c$, where bosonic conduction processes are dominant and often divergent. This provides the central goal of this paper, which is to address the challenges in thermoelectric transport that stem from having two characteristic temperatures as well as two types of charge carriers whose contributions can in some instances enhance each other and in others compete. We show how essential features of the cuprates (their bad-metal character and the presence of Fermi arcs) provide an explanation for the classic pseudogap onset signatures at $T^*$ in the longitudinal resistivity, $ρ_{xx}$. Based on the fits to the temperature-dependent $ρ_{xx}$, we present the implications for all of the other thermoelectric transport properties.
We describe the thermal and electrical conductivities of quasi-one dimensional wires, across a quantum phase transition from a superconductor to a metal induced by pairbreaking perturbations. Fluctuation corrections to BCS theory motivate a field theory for quantum criticality. We describe deviations in the Wiedemann-Franz ratio from the Lorenz number, which can act as sensitive tests of the theory. We also describe the crossovers out of the quantum critical region into the metallic and superconducting phases.
We study thermal and electrical transport in metals and superconductors near a quantum phase transition where antiferromagnetic order disappears. The same theory can also be applied to quantum phase transitions involving the loss of certain classes of intrinsic topological order. For a clean superconductor, we recover and extend the well-known universal results. The heat conductivity for commensurate and incommensurate antiferromagnetism coexisting with superconductivity shows a markedly different doping dependence near the quantum critical point, thus allowing to distinguish the states. In th…
The filled skutterudite compound PrOs4Sb12, the first example of a Pr-based heavy fermion superconductor, displays superconductivity with $T_c\sim 1.85$ K and has an effective mass $m^* \sim$ {50 $m_e$}, where $m_e$ is the free electron mass. For magnetic fields above 4.5 T, sharp features in the normal state electrical resistivity, magnetization, specific heat, and thermal expansion data suggest the occurrence of a phase transition at high fields. This high field ordered phase in the normal state may originate from a combination of crystalline electric field enhanced Zeeman splitting and quad…
In this work we present measurements of the electrical conductivity and of the magnetization of La and of La-Pr and La-Lu dilute (up to 2 atomic percent) alloys, from which we determine, very in particular, the influence of dilute magnetic impurities on the upper critical magnetic field amplitude [and then on the superconducting coherence length amplitude and on the Ginzburg-Landau parameter].
We present a theory of the Josephson effect in a twofold-tilted Josephson junction made by d-wave anisotropic layered superconductors. We find the appearance of an intrinsic electrical resistance that arises from the misalignment of the superconductive planes (the CuO_2 planes in YBCO) in the two electrodes. This intrinsic contribution to the tunnel barrier has several non-trivial consequences. The result is relevant for understanding the electric transport properties of [100] tilt and [100] tilt-tilt Josephson junctions based on d-wave superconductors.
We investigate the manifestation of the stripes in the in-plane resistivity anisotropy in untwinned single crystals of La_{2-x}Sr_{x}CuO_{4} (x = 0.02 - 0.04) and YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{y} (y = 6.35 - 7.0). It is found that both systems show strongly temperature-dependent in-plane anisotropy in the lightly hole-doped region and that the anisotropy in YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{y} grows with decreasing y below about 6.60 despite the decreasing orthorhombicity, which gives most direct evidence that electrons self-organize into a macroscopically anisotropic state. The transport is found to be easier along the dire…
We demonstrate that antiferromagnet-superconductor (AF-S) junctions show qualitatively different transport properties than normal metal-superconductor (N--S) and ferromagnet-superconductor (F-S) junctions. We attribute these transport features to presence of two new scattering processes in AF--S junctions, i.e., specular reflection of holes and retroreflection of electrons. Using the Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk formalism, we find that the electrical and thermal conductance depend nontrivially on antiferromagnetic exchange strength. Furthermore, we show that the interplay between the Néel vector d…
Superconductors with p+ip pairing symmetry are characterized by chiral edge states, but these are difficult to detect in equilibrium since the resulting magnetic field is screened by the Meissner effect. Nonequilibrium detection is hindered by the fact that the edge excitations are unpaired Majorana fermions, which cannot transport charge near the Fermi level. Here we show that the boundary between p_x+ip_y and p_x-ip_y domains forms a one-way channel for electrical charge. We derive a product rule for the domain wall conductance, which allows to cancel the effect of a tunnel barrier between m…
Sn0.8Ag0.2Te is a new superconductor with Tc ~ 2.4 K. The superconducting properties of Sn0.8Ag0.2Te have been investigated by specific heat measurements under magnetic fields. Bulk nature of superconductivity was confirmed from the amplitude of the specific heat jump at the superconducting transition, and the amplitude is consistent with fully-gapped superconductivity. Upper critical field was estimated from specific heat and electrical resistivity measurements under magnetic fields. The Hall coefficient was positive, suggesting that the Ag acts as a p-type dopant in Sn0.8Ag0.2Te.
The time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau approach is used to investigate nonlinear response of a strongly type-II superconductor. The dissipation takes a form of the flux flow which is quantitatively studied beyond linear response. Thermal fluctuations, represented by the Langevin white noise, are assumed to be strong enough to melt the Abrikosov vortex lattice created by the magnetic field into a moving vortex liquid and marginalize the effects of the vortex pinning by inhomogeneities. The layered structure of the superconductor is accounted for by means of the Lawrence-Doniach model. The nonlinear…
We studied the effects of multiband electronic structure on the thermoelectric and electrical transport properties in the normal state of kagome superconductors $A$V$_3$Sb$_5$ ($A$ = K, Rb, Cs). In all three members, the multiband nature is manifested by sign changes in the temperature dependence of the Seebeck and Hall resistivity, together with sublinear response of the isothermal Nernst and Hall effects to external magnetic fields in the charge ordered state. Moreover, ambipolar transport effects appear ubiquitously in all three systems, giving rise to sizable Nernst signal. Finally, possib…

We performed thermal conductivity measurements on a single crystal of the ferromagnetic superconductorUCoGe under magnetic field. Two different temperature dependencies of the thermal conductivity are observed, for H//b linear at low magnetic field and quadratic for magnetic field larger than 1 Tesla. At the same field value, a plateau appears in the field dependency of the residual term of thermal conductivity. Such observations suggest a multigap superconductivity with a line of nodes in the superconducting gap.
There are now many nodal superconductors in heavy fermion (HF) systems, charge conjugated organic metals, high Tc cuprates and ruthenates. On the other hand only few of them have a well established gap function. We present here a study of the angular dependent thermal conductivity in the vortex state of some of the nodal superconductors. We hope it will help to identify the nodal directions in the gap function of UPd_2Al_3, UNi_2Al_3, UBe_13 and URu_2Si_2.
We compute the electrical and thermal conductivities and Hall conductivities of the $d$-density wave (DDW) state in the low-temperature impurity-scattering-dominated regime for low-dopings, at which they are dominated by nodal quasiparticles. We show that the longitudinal conductivity in this limit in the DDW state is not Drude-like. However, the thermal conductivty is Drude-like; this is a reflection of the discrepancy between electrical and thermal transport at finite frequency in the DDW state. An extreme example of this occurs in the $μ=0$, $τ\to\infty$ limit, where there is a strong viola…
We show that a topological phase supporting Majorana fermions can form in a 2D electron gas (2DEG) adjacent to an interdigitated superconductor-ferromagnet structure. An advantage of this setup is that the 2DEG can induce the required Zeeman splitting and superconductivity from a single interface, allowing one to utilize a wide class of 2DEGs including the surface states of bulk InAs. We demonstrate that the interdigitated device supports a robust topological phase when the finger spacing lambda is smaller than half of the Fermi wavelength lambda_F. In this regime, the electrons effectively se…
Effect of surface pair breaking, entirely neglected by M. Samanta and S. Datta [Phys. Rev. B v. 57, 10972 (1998)], is quite important in considering surface (or interface) quasiparticle bound states and associated characteristics of junctions involving unconventional superconductors. The whole class of bound states with nonzero energy is simply omitted within the framework of the approach, using uniform spatial profile of the order parameter up to the interface. The contribution of these bound states (as well as midgap states) to current-voltage characteristics of the SIS' tunnel junctions wer…
Experimental studies of the electric and heat currents in the normal, superconducting and mixed states of high T$_c$ superconductors (HTcS) lead to characterization, complementary to data obtained from equilibrium property based techniques. A magnetic field superimposed on the superconducting sample generates {\it magneto-transport phenomena}, from which an excess electrical resistivity, an excess thermoelectric power, the Hall or the Nernst effect. Different behavioral effects allow one to distinguish various dissipation mechanisms, like quasi particle scattering, vortex motion dissipation an…
A monolayer of the high-$T_c$ superconductor FeTe$_{1-x}$Se$_x$ has been predicted to realize a topologically non-trivial state with helical edge modes at its boundary, providing a novel intrinsic system to search for topological superconductivity and Majorana zero modes. Evidence in favor of a topological phase transition and helical edge modes has been identified in recent experiments \cite{Peng2019}. We propose to create Majorana zero modes by applying an in-plane magnetic field to the FeTe$_{1-x}$Se$_x$ monolayer and by tuning the local chemical potential via electric gating. Owing to the …
Several models of the electronic spectrum in the pseudogap state of underdoped cuprates have been proposed to explain ARPES and STM measurements, which reveal only truncated Fermi pockets instead of a full metallic Fermi surface. We consider the transport properties expected of four physically distinct models, and calculate the thermal and electrical conductivity of the electronic quasiparticles. By proposing transport currents that reflect the close correspondence between quasiparticles on the Fermi pockets in the pseudogap and those near nodes in the superconducting state, we show that measu…
We review recent work on a continuum, classical theory of thermal fluctuations in two dimensional superconductors. A functional integral over a Ginzburg-Landau free energy describes the amplitude and phase fluctuations responsible for the crossover from Gaussian fluctuations of the superconducting order at high temperatures, to the vortex physics of the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition at lower temperatures. Results on the structure of this crossover are presented, including new results for corrections to the Aslamazov-Larkin fluctuation conductivity.
Advances in scanning tunneling spectroscopy reveal the presence of superconducting nanoregions well past the bulk thermal transition in strongly disordered superconductors. We use a Monte Carlo tool to capture the spatially differentiated amplitude and phase fluctuations in such a material and establish spatial maps of the coherence peak as the superconductor is driven through the thermal transition. Analysis of the local density of states reveals that superconducting regions shrink and fragment with increasing temperature, but survive in small clusters to a temperature $T_{clust} >> T_{c}$ . …
The structural and superconducting properties of Au{0.7}In{0.3} films, grown by interdiffusion of alternating Au and In layers, have been studied. The films were found to consist of a uniform solid solution of Au{0.9}In{0.1}, with excess In precipitated in the form of In-rich grains of various Au-In phases (with distinct atomic compositions), including intermetallic compounds. As the temperature was lowered, these individual grains became superconducting at a particular transition temperature (Tc), determined primarily by the atomic composition of the grain, before a fully superconducting stat…
We present $β$-FeSe magnetotransport data, and describe them theoretically. Using a simplified microscopic model with two correlated effective orbitals, we determined the normal state electrical conductivity and Hall coefficient, using Kubo formalism. With model parameters relevant for Fe-chalcogenides, we describe the observed effect of the structural transition on the ab-plane electrical resistivity, as well as on the magnetoresistance. Temperature-dependent Hall coefficient data were measured at 16 Tesla, and their theoretical description improves upon inclusion of moderate electron correla…
We investigate the thermal transport properties in superconductor-antiferromagnet-superconductor and superconductor-ferromagnet-superconductor junctions based on buckled two-dimensional materials (BTDMs). Owing to the unique buckled sublattice structures of BTDMs, in both junctions the phase dependence of the thermal conductance can be effectively controlled by perpendicular electric fields. The underlying mechanism for the electrical tunability of thermal conductance is elucidated resorting to the band structures of the magnetic regions. We also reveal the distinct manifestations of antiferro…
The effects of low carrier density and carrier compensation on mixed-state thermal transport are investigated beyond the quasiclassical approximation. It is shown that, contrary to the usual observations, the interplay of the two effects leads to an {\it increase} in the thermal conductivity immediately below the upper critical field $H_{c2}$. Our result can account for the anomalous behavior of the mixed-state thermal conductivity near $H_{c2}$ recently observed in URu$_2$Si$_2$.
In hole-doped high-Tc superconductors, thermal conductivity increases drastically just below Tc, which has been considered as a hallmark of a nodal gap. In contrast, such a coherence peak in thermal conductivity is not visible in electron-doped compounds, which may indicate a full-gap state such as a (d+is)-wave state. To settle this problem, we study the thermal conductivity in the Hubbard model using the fluctuation-exchange (FLEX) approximation, which predicts that the nodal d-wave state is realized in both hole-doped and electron-doped compounds. The contrasting behavior of thermal conduct…
We study the effect of thermal fluctuations on the topological stability of chiral p-wave superconductors. We consider two models of superconductors: spinless and spinful with a focus on topological properties and Majorana zero-energy modes. We show that proliferation of vortex-antivortex pairs above the Kosterlitz-Thouless temperature T_KT drives the transition from a thermal Quantum Hall insulator to a thermal metal/insulator, and dramatically modifies the ground-state degeneracy splitting. Therefore, in order to utilize 2D chiral p-wave superconductors for topological quantum computing, the…
We have performed low-temperature specific heat and thermal conductivity measurements of the Ni-based superconductor BaNi$_2$As$_2$ ($T_\mathrm{c}$ = 0.7 K) in magnetic field. In zero field, thermal conductivity shows $T$-linear behavior in the normal state and exhibits a BCS-like exponential decrease below $T_\mathrm{c}$. The field dependence of the residual thermal conductivity extrapolated to zero temperature is indicative of a fully gapped superconductor. This conclusion is supported by the analysis of the specific heat data, which are well fit by the BCS temperature dependence from $T_\ma…
We describe the different regimes of finite temperature dynamics in the vicinity of a zero temperature superconductor to insulator quantum phase transition in two dimensions. New results are obtained for a low temperature phase-only hydrodynamics, and for the intermediate temperature quantum-critical region. In the latter case, we obtain a universal relationship between the frequency-dependence of the conductivity and the value of the d.c. resistance.
We formulate an effective low energy theory for the fermionic excitations in d-wave superconductors in the presence of periodic vortex lattices. These can be modeled by an effective free Dirac Hamiltonian with renormalized velocities and possibly a small mass term. In the presence of random nonmagnetic impurities this will result in universal (i.e. field and disorder strength independent) thermal and spin conductivities with values different from those occurring in the Meissner state.
We highlight the reproducibility and level of control over the electrical properties of YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_7$ Josephson junctions fabricated with irradiation from a focused helium ion beam. Specifically, we show the results of electrical transport properties for several junctions fabricated using a large range of irradiation doses. At the lower end of this range, junctions exhibit superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) Josephson junction properties. However, as dose increases there is a transition to electrical characteristics consistent with superconductor-insulator-superconductor (SIS…
In this work we report a systematic study of electrical current effects on superconducting properties of granular Y$_{1-x}$Pr$_{x}$Ba$_{2}$Cu$_{3}$O$_{7-δ}$ samples with x close to the critical Pr concentration above which the superconductivity vanishes. The results indicate the occurrence of superconductor-insulator quantum phase transition (SIT) driven by the applied electrical current, and suggest that the current-induced SIT can be considered as the dynamical counterpart of the magnetic-field- tuned SIT.
We carried out simultaneous measurements of electrical resistivity and thermal expansion of the heavy-fermion compound URu2Si2 under pressure using a single crystal. We observed a phase transition anomaly between hidden (HO) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordered states at TM in the temperature dependence of both measurements. For the electrical resistivity, the anomaly at TM was very small compared with the distinct hump anomaly at the phase transition temperature T0 between the paramagnetic state (PM) and HO, and exhibited only a slight increase and decrease for the I // a-axis and c-axis, resp…
We study the single-particle Green function for a two-dimensional superconductor in a regime of strong classical phase fluctuations. Although the developed approach is valid for any symmetry, we concentrate on d-wave superconductors. We obtain analytical expressions for the Green function below the transition temperature and have worked out a way to extrapolate it for a finite temperatures above $T_c$. Along with analytical expressions for a certain limits of parameters we outline the qualitative features of the spectral function.
We present a superconductor-semiconductor material system that is both scalable and monolithically integrated on a silicon substrate. It uses selective area growth of Al-InAs hybrid structures on a planar III-V buffer layer, grown directly on a high resistivity silicon substrate. We characterized the electrical properties of this material system at millikelvin temperatures and observed a high average field-effect mobility of $μ\approx 3200\,\mathrm{cm^2/Vs}$ for the InAs channel, and a hard induced superconducting gap. Josephson junctions exhibited a high interface transmission, $\mathcal{T} \…
By investigating the nonequilibrium transport across a metal/superconductor junction in both nonrelativistic and relativistic cases, we reveal that the asymmetric Andreev reflection with anisotropic superconductors is able to induce the electric and thermal Hall-like effect, in the absence of magnetic field. That is, a longitudinal electric voltage or temperature bias can induce transverse electric or thermal currents merely through the asymmetric Andreev reflection, respectively. In particular, a transverse thermoelectric effect, i.e., the Ettingshausen-like effect, is identified, although th…
The external controllability of topological superconductors and Majorana fermions would be important both for fundamental and practical interests. Here we predict the electric-field control of Majorana fermions in two-dimensional topological superconductors utilizing a topological insulator thin film proximity coupled to a conventional $s$-wave superconductor. With ferromagnetic ordering, the tunable structure inversion asymmetry by vertical electric field could induce topological quantum phase transition and realize a chiral topological superconductor state. A zero-energy Majorana bound state…
We propose to measure the differential conductance $G$ as a function of the bias $V$ for a quantum dot side-coupled to a topological superconductor to detect the existence of the chiral Majorana edge states. It turns out that $G$ for the spinless dot is an oscillatory (but not periodic) function of $eV$ due to the coupling to the chiral Majorana edge states, where $-e$ is the charge carried by the electron. The behavior of $G$ versus $eV$ is distinguished from the one for a multi-level dot in three respects. First of all, due to the coupling to the topological superconductor, the value of $G$ …
It is now well known that the properties of the disordered s wave superconductors can deviate significantly from the prediction of standard Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) theory. By measuring the temperature dependence of the resonance frequency, $f_0$, of microwave resonators made from disordered NbTiN and TiN thin films, at low temperatures, below half of the superconducting critical temperature, $T_c$, Driessen et al. \cite{driessen2012PRL} demonstrated that $f_0$ vanishes faster than predicted from the BCS theory. Here, we report on the temperature dependence of $f_0$ of microwave resonat…
Majorana zero-modes bound to vortices in a topological superconductor have a non-Abelian exchange statistics expressed by a non-deterministic fusion rule: When two vortices merge they may or they may not produce an unpaired fermion with equal probability. Building on a recent proposal to inject edge vortices in a chiral mode by means of a Josephson junction, we show how the fusion rule manifests itself in an electrical measurement. A $2π$ phase shift at a pair of Josephson junctions creates a topological qubit in a state of even-even fermion parity, which is transformed by the chiral motion of…

We investigate the three-dimensional, time-reversal invariant topological superconductors with generic interaction by their response to external fields. The first description is a gravitational topological field theory, which gives a $Z_2$ classification of topological superconductors, and predicts a half-quantized thermal Hall effect on the surface. The second description introduces an s-wave proximity pairing field on the surface, and the associated topological defects give an integer $Z$ classification of the topological superconductors.
Due to the node structure of the gap in a d-wave superconductor, the presence of impurities generates a finite density of quasiparticle excitations at zero temperature. Since these impurity-induced quasiparticles are both generated and scattered by impurities, prior calculations indicate a universal limit (Ω-> 0, T -> 0) where the transport coefficients obtain scattering-independent values, depending only on the velocity anisotropy v_f/v_2. We improve upon prior results, including the contributions of vertex corrections and Fermi liquid corrections in our calculations of universal limit electr…
We propose an analytical model devoted to explain the anisotropy of the electrical resistance observed below the critical temperature in granular high-Tc superconductors submitted to a magnetic field H. Reported experimental results obtained on a YBCO sample show that the superconducting transition occurs in two stages, with a steep drop of the resistance at Tc and a subsequent, smoother decrease. In this second stage, the resistance vs. temperature curve is strongly dependent not only on the field intensity, but also on the angle between H and the macroscopic current density j. We start from …
Here we consider the universal heat conduction and the angular dependent thermal conductivity in the vortex state for a few nodal superconductors. We present the thermal conductivity as a function of impurity concentration and the angular dependent thermal conductivity in a few nodal superconductors. This provides further insight in the gap symmetry of superconductivity in Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ and UPd$_2$Al$_3$.
We investigated the temperature evolution of crystal structure of orthorhombic CoZr3, which is a superconductor with a transition temperature of 4.3 K, by synchrotron and laboratory (CuKα) X-ray diffraction. Uniaxial negative thermal expansion along the c-axis, which is similar to that observed in tetragonal CoZr2, has been observed at a wide temperature range of T = 90-800 K in CoZr3, while a-and b-axis exhibit positive thermal expansion.
We study nonequilibrium transport in various open quantum systems whose systems and leads/baths are made of topological superconductors (TSs), semiconductors, and metals. Using quantum Langevin equations and Green's function method, we derive exact expressions for steady-state electrical, thermal, and spin current at the junctions between a system and leads. We validate these current expressions by comparing them with the results from direct time-evolution simulations. We then show how an electrical current injected in TS wires divides into two parts carried by single electronic excitations an…
Single crystal of Cu0.03TaS2 with low copper intercalated content was successfully grown via chemical iodine-vapor transport. The structural characterization results show that the copper intercalated 2H-Cu0.03TaS2 single crystal has the same structure of the CdI2-type structure as the parent 2H-TaS2 crystal. Electrical resistivity and magnetization measurements reveal that 2H-Cu0.03TaS2 becomes a superconductor below 4.2 K. Besides, electrical resistivity and Hall effects results show that a charge density wave transition occurs at TCDW = 50 K.
We present the results of measurements of the thermal and electrical conductivity in the basal plane of single-crystalline MgB_2 between 2 and 300 K. The analysis of the temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity gives supporting evidence for two different gaps on different sheets of the Fermi surface in the superconducting state. The zero-temperature values of the two gaps are D_1 (0) = 5.3 meV and D_2 (0) = 1.65 meV.
On a microscopic scale, resistivity during electric conduction is caused by collisions of the free conduction electrons with the obstructing atoms or molecules of the conductor material, resulting in heat production. Based on this fundamental understanding, a hypothesis concerning a physical requirement of the superconductor material is proposed, which suggests that for superconductivity (i.e., with zero resistivity) to occur, the conductor material must have nano-sized, continuous and straight vacuum tunnels inside with effective radius size large enough to allow collision-free conduction of …
The superconducting and ground state samples of PrFeAsO0.8F0.2 and PrFeAsO have been synthesised via easy and versatile single step solid state reaction route. X-ray & Reitveld refine parameters of the synthesised samples are in good agreement to the earlier reported value of the structure. The ground state of the pristine compound (PrFeAsO) exhibited a metallic like step in resistivity below 150K followed by another step at 12K. The former is associated with the spin density wave (SDW) like ordering of Fe spins and later to the anomalous magnetic ordering for Pr moments. Both the resistivity …
We present the results of a microscopic calculation of the longitudinal thermal conductivity of quasiparticles, $κ_{xx}$, in a 2D d-wave superconductor in the vortex state. Our approach takes into account both impurity scattering and a contribution to the thermal transport lifetime due to the scattering of quasiparticles off of vortices. We compare the results with the experimental measurements on high-T$_c$ cuprates and organic superconductors.
In this paper we discuss the phenomenon of resonance that we predict will occur when a superconducting coil is submitted simultaneously to a magnetic field and to an external force. When both the force and the magnetic field are constant in time the coil should oscillate mechanically around an equilibrium position like an ideal harmonic oscillator, and should have induced in it an alternating current of same frequency. We obtain an expression for the resonance frequency, which is directly proportional to the applied magnetic field and depends also on the wire superconducting properties. We dis…
We demonstrate the electrical and thermal transport of layered bismuth-based sulfide EuBiS2F from 300 to 623 K. Although significant hybridization between Eu 4f and Bi 6p electrons was reported previously, the carrier transport of the compound is similar to those of F-doped LaBiS2O, at least above 300 K. The lattice thermal conductivity is lower than that of isostructural SrBiS2F, which is attributed to heavier atomic mass of Eu ions.
