By specializing the parameters in the partition function of the 8VSOS model with domain wall boundary conditions and diagonal reflecting end, we find connections between the three-color model and certain polynomials $p_n(z)$, which are conjectured to be equal to certain polynomials of Bazhanov and Mangazeev, appearing in the eigenvectors of the Hamiltonian of the supersymmetric XYZ spin chain. This article is a continuation of a previous paper where we investigated the related polynomials $q_n(z)$, also conjectured to be equal to polynomials of Bazhanov and Mangazeev, appearing in the eigenvectors of the supersymmetric XYZ spin chain.
We formulate and discuss a number of conjectures on the ground state vectors of the XYZ-spin chains of odd length with periodic boundary conditions and a special choice of the Hamiltonian parameters. In particular, arguments for the validity of a sum rule for the components, which describes in a sense the degree of antiferromagneticity of the chain, are given.
We study the connection between the three-color model and the polynomials $q_n(z)$ of Bazhanov and Mangazeev, which appear in the eigenvectors of the Hamiltonian of the XYZ spin chain. By specializing the parameters in the partition function of the 8VSOS model with DWBC and reflecting end, we find an explicit combinatorial expression for $q_n(z)$ in terms of the partition function of the three-color model with the same boundary conditions. Bazhanov and Mangazeev conjectured that $q_n(z)$ has positive integer coefficients. We prove the weaker statement that $q_n(z+1)$ and $(z+1)^{n(n+1)}q_n(1/(…
We present a rigorous explicit expression for an extensive number of local conserved quantities in the XYZ spin-1/2 chain with general coupling constants. All the coefficients of operators in each local conserved quantity are calculated. We also confirm that our result can be applied to the case of the XXZ chain with a magnetic field in the z-axis direction.
The XYZ spin chain is considered in the framework of the generalized algebraic Bethe ansatz developed by Takhtajan and Faddeev. The sum of norms of the Bethe vectors is computed and expressed in the form of a Jacobian. This result corresponds to the Gaudin hypothesis for the XYZ spin chain.
With the help of the F-basis provided by the Drinfeld twist or factorizing F-matrix of the eight-vertex solid-on-solid (SOS) model, we obtain the determinant representations of the scalar products of Bethe states for the open XYZ chain with non-diagonal boundary terms. By taking the on shell limit, we obtain the determinant representations (or Gaudin formula) of the norms of the Bethe states.
We study nearest-neighbour correlation functions for the ground state of the supersymmetric XYZ spin chain with odd length and periodic boundary conditions. Under a technical assumption related to the $Q$-operator of the corresponding eight-vertex model, we show that they can be expressed exactly in terms of the Painlevé VI tau functions $s_n$ and $\bar s_n$ introduced by Bazhanov and Mangazeev. Furthermore, we give an interpretation of the correlation functions in terms of the Painlevé VI Hamiltonian.
We conjecture exact and simple formulas for physical quantities in two quantum chains. A classic result of this type is Onsager, Kaufman and Yang's formula for the spontaneous magnetization in the Ising model, subsequently generalized to the chiral Potts models. We conjecture that analogous results occur in the XYZ chain when the couplings obey J_xJ_y + J_yJ_z + J_x J_z=0, and in a related fermion chain with strong interactions and supersymmetry. We find exact formulas for the magnetization and gap in the former, and the staggered density in the latter, by exploiting the fact that certain quan…
We construct an explicit matrix product ansatz for the steady state of a boundary driven $XY\!Z$ spin-$\tfrac{1}{2}$ chain for arbitrary local polarizing channels at the chain's ends. The ansatz, where the Lax operators are written explicitly in terms of infinite-dimensional bidiagonal (triangular) site-dependent matrices, becomes exact either in the (Zeno) limit of infinite dissipation strength, or thermodynamic limit of infinite chain length. The solution is based on an extension of the newly discovered family of separable eigenstates of the model.
With the help of the Drinfeld twist or factorizing F-matrix for the eight-vertex solid-on-solid (SOS) model, we find that in the F-basis provided by the twist the two sets of pseudo-particle creation operators simultaneously take completely symmetric and polarization free form. This allows us to obtain the explicit and completely symmetric expressions of the two sets of Bethe states of the model.
I explicitly construct a strong zero mode in the XYZ chain or, equivalently, Majorana wires coupled via a four-fermion interaction. The strong zero mode is an operator that pairs states in different symmetry sectors, resulting in identical spectra up to exponentially small finite-size corrections. Such pairing occurs in the Ising/Majorana fermion chain and possibly in parafermionic systems and strongly disordered many-body localized phases. The proof here shows that the strong zero mode occurs in a clean interacting system, and that it possesses some remarkable structure -- despite being a rat…
Based on its off-diagonal Bethe ansatz solution, we study the thermodynamic limit of the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ XYZ spin chain with the antiperiodic boundary condition. The key point of our method is that there exist some degenerate points of the crossing parameter $η_{m,l}$, at which the associated inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relation becomes a homogeneous one. This makes extrapolating the formulae deriving from the homogeneous one to an arbitrary $η$ with $O(N^{-2})$ corrections for a large $N$ possible. The ground state energy and elementary excitations of the system are obtained. By taking the trigono…
We derive a criterion under which splitting of all eigenstates of an open $\XYZ$ Hamiltonian with boundary fields into two invariant subspaces, spanned by chiral shock states, occurs. The splitting is governed by an integer number, which has the geometrical meaning of the maximal number of kinks in the basis states. We describe the generic structure of the respective Bethe vectors. We obtain explicit expressions for Bethe vectors, in the absence of Bethe roots, and those generated by one Bethe root, and investigate the \multiplet. We also describe in detail an elliptic analogue of the spin-hel…

Initially, we derive a nonlinear integral equation for the vacuum counting function of the spin 1/2-XYZ chain in the {\it disordered regime}, thus paralleling similar results by Klümper \cite{KLU}, achieved through a different technique in the {\it antiferroelectric regime}. In terms of the counting function we obtain the usual physical quantities, like the energy and the transfer matrix (eigenvalues). Then, we introduce a double scaling limit which appears to describe the sine-Gordon theory on cylindrical geometry, so generalising famous results in the plane by Luther \cite{LUT} and Johnson e…
We investigate the conjectured ground state eigenvector of the 8-vertex model inhomogeneous transfer matrix on its combinatorial line, i.e., at $η=π/3$, where it acquires a particularly simple form. We compute the partition function of the model on an infinite cylinder with certain restrictions on the inhomogeneities, and taking the homogeneous limit, we obtain an expression for the squared norm of the ground state of the XYZ spin chain as a solution of a differential recurrence relation.
We show that the XYZ spin chain along the special line of couplings J_xJ_y+J_xJ_z+J_yJ_z=0 possesses a hidden N=(2,2) supersymmetry. This lattice supersymmetry is non-local and changes the number of sites. It extends to the full transfer matrix of the corresponding eight-vertex model. In particular, it is shown how to derive the supercharges from Baxter's Bethe ansatz. This analysis leads to new conjectures concerning the ground state for chains of odd length. We also discuss a correspondence between the spectrum of this XYZ chain and that of a manifestly supersymmetric staggered fermion chain…
We find novel site-dependent Lax operators in terms of which we demonstrate exact solvability of a dissipatively driven XYZ spin-1/2 chain in the Zeno limit of strong dissipation, with jump operators polarizing the boundary spins in arbitrary directions. We write the corresponding nonequilibrium steady state using an inhomogeneous MPA, where the constituent matrices satisfy a simple set of linear recurrence relations. Although these matrices can be embedded into an infinite-dimensional auxiliary space, we have verified that they cannot be simultaneously put into a tridiagonal form, not even in…
Taking the XXZ chain as the main example, we give a review of an algebraic representation of correlation functions in integrable spin chains obtained recently. We rewrite the previous formulas in a form which works equally well for the physically interesting homogeneous chains. We discuss also the case of quantum group invariant operators and generalization to the XYZ chain.
We investigate an open $XYZ$ spin $1/2$ chain driven out of equilibrium by boundary reservoirs targeting different spin orientations, aligned along the principal axes of anisotropy. We show that by tuning local magnetic fields, applied to spins at sites near the boundaries, one can change any nonequilibrium steady state to a fully uncorrelated Gibbsian state at infinite temperature. This phenomenon occurs for strong boundary coupling and on a critical manifold in the space of the fields amplitudes. The structure of this manifold depends on the anisotropy degree of the model and on the parity o…
The anisotropic spin-1/2 chains with arbitrary boundary fields are diagonalized with the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. Based on the properties of the R-matrix and the K-matrices, an operator product identity of the transfer matrix is constructed at some special points of the spectral parameter. Combining with the asymptotic behavior (for XXZ case) or the quasi-periodicity properties (for XYZ case) of the transfer matrix, the extended T-Q ansatzs and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations are derived.
We investigate the integrable higher spin XXZ chain at the Razumov-Stroganov point. We present a method to evaluate the exact value of the eigenvalue which is conjectured to correspond to the groundstate of the Hamiltonian for finite size chain from the Baxter Q operator. This allows us to examine the exact total energy difference between different number of total sites, from which we find strong evidence for the absence of finite size correction to the groundstate energy.
We derive a formula that expresses the local spin and field operators of fundamental graded models in terms of the elements of the monodromy matrix. This formula is a quantum analogue of the classical inverse scattering transform. It applies to fundamental spin chains, such as the XYZ chain, and to a number of important exactly solvable models of strongly correlated electrons, such as the supersymmetric t-J model or the the EKS model.
We study a special anisotropic XYZ-model on a periodic chain of an odd length and conjecture exact expressions for certain components of the ground state eigenvectors. The results are written in terms of tau-functions associated with Picard's elliptic solutions of the Painlevé VI equation. Connections with other problems related to the eight-vertex model are briefly discussed.
We analyze the ground state of a strongly interacting fermion chain with a supersymmetry. We conjecture a number of exact results, such as a hidden duality between weak and strong couplings. By exploiting a scale free property of the perturbative expansions, we find exact expressions for the order parameters, yielding the critical exponents. We show that the ground state of this fermion chain and another model in the same universality class, the XYZ chain along a line of couplings, are both written in terms of the same polynomials. We demonstrate this explicitly for up to N = 24 sites, and pro…
A general method for solving the so-called quantum inverse scattering problem (namely the reconstruction of local quantum (field) operators in term of the quantum monodromy matrix satisfying a Yang-Baxter quadratic algebra governed by an R-matrix) for a large class of lattice quantum integrable models is given. The principal requirement being the initial condition (R(0) = P, the permutation operator) for the quantum R-matrix solving the Yang-Baxter equation, it applies not only to most known integrable fundamental lattice models (such as Heisenberg spin chains) but also to lattice models with …
We show that in certain one-dimensional spin chains with open boundary conditions, the edge spins retain memory of their initial state for very long times. The long coherence times do not require disorder, only an ordered phase. In the integrable Ising and XYZ chains, the presence of a strong zero mode means the coherence time is infinite, even at infinite temperature. When Ising is perturbed by interactions breaking the integrability, the coherence time remains exponentially long in the perturbing couplings. We show that this is a consequence of an edge "almost" strong zero mode that almost c…
