We derive general covariant coupled equations of QCD describing the tetraquark in terms of a mix of four-quark states $2q2\bar q$, and two-quark states $q\bar q$. The coupling of $2q2\bar q$ to $q\bar q$ states is achieved by a simple contraction of a four-quark $q\bar q$-irreducible Green function down to a two-quark $q\bar q$ Bethe-Salpeter kernel. The resulting tetraquark equations are expressed in an exact field theoretic form, and are in agreement with those obtained previously by consideration of disconnected interactions; however, despite being more general, they have been derived here in a much simpler and more transparent way.
We derive the chiral kinetic equation in 8 dimensional phase space in non-Abelian $SU(N)$ gauge field within the Wigner function formalism. By using the "covariant gradient expansion", we disentangle the Wigner equations in four-vector space up to the first order and find that only the time-like component of the chiral Wigner function is independent while other components can be explicit derivative. After further decomposing the Wigner function or equations in color space, we present the non-Abelian covariant chiral kinetic equation for the color singlet and multiplet phase-space distribution …

Covariance is a useful property for handling supergravity theories. In this paper, we prove a covariance property of supergravity field equations: under reasonable conditions, field equations of supergravity are covariant modulo other field equations. We prove that for any supergravity there exist such covariant equations of motion, other than the regular equations of motion, that are equivalent to the latter. The relations that we find between field equations and their covariant form can be used to obtain multiplets of field equations. In practice, the covariant field equations are easily fou…
We derive the covariant Poisson's equation of (d+1)-dimensional Newton-Cartan gravity with (twistless) torsion by applying the `non-relativistic conformal method' introduced in arXiv:1512.06277. We apply this method on-shell to a Schrödinger field theory on the curved Newton-Hooke background. The covariance of the field equation in the presence of the non-relativistic cosmological constant, entails fixing all coefficients in the covariant Poisson's equation for (twistless) torsional Newton-Cartan gravity. We further derive Ehlers conditions and an equation associated to the torsion in this met…
The covariant Hamilton-Jacobi formulation of Maxwell's equations is derived from the first-order (Palatini-like) Lagrangian using the analysis of constraints within the De~Donder-Weyl covariant Hamiltonian formalism and the corresponding polysymplectic reduction.
To obtain a generalized wave equation for a field in general covariant form, one must define covariant differentiation of a generalized wave function describing particles with arbitrary spin. Gel'fand and Iaglom, Dirac, and Fierz and Pauli have studied the generalized wave equation in the special theory of relativity. In this paper, the Gel'fand-Iaglom field equation was generalized to the curved space based on the veilbein framework. The general covariant field equations for arbitrary spin were obtained. More importantly, in this work, we introduced the gauge covariant derivative with the loc…
The extension of nonlinear higher-spin equations in d=4 proposed in [arXiv:1504.07289] for the construction of invariant functional is shown to respect local Lorentz symmetry. The equations are rewritten in a manifestly Lorentz covariant form resulting from some Stueckelberg-like field transformation. We also show that the two field-independent central terms entering higher-spin equations which are not entirely fixed by the consistency alone get fixed unambiguously by the requirement of Lorentz symmetry. One of the important advantages of the proposed approach demonstrated in the paper is the …
We propose a manifestly Lorentz covariant, non-commutative Dirac equation for charged particles interacting with an electromagnetic field. The equation is formulated on the operator level, but operators are not composed through the normal operator product, but a modified product that restores the Lorentz covariance. This equation is solved for the free particle and a particle moving in a constant magnetic field. An abstract action, constructed on the operator level, that yields this equation as equation of motion is also derived. To relate this formalism to current formulations of non-commutat…
Recently, all duality invariant $α'$-corrections to the massless NS-NS sector of string theory on time-dependent backgrounds were classified and the form of their contribution to the action were calculated. In this paper we introduce matter sources in the resulting equations of motion in an O$(d,d)$ covariant way. We show that either starting with the corrected equations and sourcing them with matter or considering corrections to the matter sourced lowest order equations give the same set of equations that defines string cosmology to all orders in $α'$. We also discuss perturbative and non-per…
Previously (A. Akhmeteli, J. Math. Phys., v. 52, p. 082303 (2011)), the Dirac equation in an arbitrary electromagnetic field was shown to be generally equivalent to a fourth-order equation for just one component of the four-component Dirac spinor function. This was done for a specific (chiral) representation of gamma-matrices and for a specific component. In the current work, the result is generalized for a general representation of gamma-matrices and a general component (satisfying some conditions). The resulting equivalent of the Dirac equation is also manifestly relativistically covariant a…
In this article, various approaches to calculate covariant expressions for the bilinears of Dirac spinors are presented. For this purpose, algebraic equations defining Dirac spinors are discussed. Following that, a covariant approach for spacetime parameterization is presented and the equations defining Dirac spinors are written fully in terms of Lorentz scalars. After presenting how the tensorial bilinears can be reduced to combinations of scalar bilinears with appropriate Lorentz structures, a covariant recipe for the calculation of scalar bilinears is provided.
We show that the covariant analytic mechanics (CAM) is closely related to the De Donder-Weyl (DW) theory. To treat space and time on an equal footing, the DW theory introduces $D$ conjugate fields ($D$ is the dimension of space-time) for each field and the CAM regards the differential forms as the basic variables. The generalization of the canonical equations is called the DW equations. Although one of the DW equations is not correct for the gauge field and the gravitational field, we show the way to improve it. By rewriting the canonical equations of the CAM, which are manifestly general coor…
We apply the 1+1+2 covariant approach to describe a general static and spherically symmetric relativistic stellar object which contains two interacting fluids. We then use the 1+1+2 equations to derive the corresponding Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equations in covariant form in the isotropic, non-interacting case. These equations are used to obtain new exact solutions by means of direct resolution and reconstruction techniques. Finally, we show that the generating theorem known for the single fluid case can also be used to obtain two-fluid solutions from single fluid ones.
We present Hamilton's equations for the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR), which is a reformulation of general relativity based on a curvatureless, metric compatible, and torsionful connection. For this, we consider the Hamiltonian for TEGR obtained through the vector, antisymmetric, symmetric and trace-free, and trace irreducible decomposition of the phase space variables. We present the Hamiltonian for TEGR in the covariant formalism for the first time in the literature, by considering a spin connection depending on Lorentz matrices. We introduce the mathematical formalism…
Time-independent gauge transformations are implemented in the canonical formalism by the Gauss law which is not covariant. The covariant form of Gauss law is conceptually important for studying asymptotic properties of the gauge fields. For QED in $3+1$ dimensions, we have developed a formalism for treating the equations of motion (EOM) themselves as constraints, that is, constraints on states using Peierls' quantization. They generate spacetime dependent gauge transformations. We extend these results to the Maxwell-Chern-Simons (MCS) Lagrangian. The surprising result is that the covariant Gau…
