On the monoidal invariance of the cohomological dimension of Hopf algebras

Gerstenhaber-Schack and Hochschild cohomologies of Hopf algebras

We show that the Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomology of a Hopf algebra determines its Hochschild cohomology, and in particular its Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomological dimension bounds its Hochschild cohomological dimension, with equality of the dimensions when the Hopf algebra is cosemisimple of Kac type. The main goal of this paper is to investigate the structure of Hopf algebras with the property that either its Jacobson radical is a Hopf ideal or its coradical is a subalgebra. In order to do that we define the Hochschild cohomology of an algebra in an abelian monoidal category. Then we characterize those algebras which have dimension less than or equal to 1 with respect to Hochschild cohomology. The universal Hopf cyclic theory

We define a Hopf cyclic (co)homology theory in an arbitrary symmetric strict monoidal category. Thus we unify all different types of Hopf cyclic (co)homologies under one single universal theory. We recover Hopf cyclic (co)homology of module algebras, comodule algebras and module coalgebras along with Hopf-Hochschild (co)homology of module algebras. This universal theory also allows us to define the missing Hopf cyclic theory for comodule coalgebras.

A categorical approach to cyclic cohomology of quasi-Hopf algebras and Hopf algebroids

We apply categorical machinery to the problem of defining cyclic cohomology with coefficients in two particular cases, namely quasi-Hopf algebras and Hopf algebroids. In the case of the former, no definition was thus far available in the literature, and while a definition exists for the latter, we feel that our approach demystifies the seemingly arbitrary formulas present there. Braided Hochschild cohomology and Hopf actions

We show that the braided Hochschild cohomology, of an algebra in a suitably algebraic braided monoidal category, admits a graded ring structure under which it is braided commutative. We then give a canonical identification between the usual Hochschild cohomology ring of a smash product and the (derived) invariants of its braided Hochschild cohomology ring. We refine the cyclic cohomological apparatus for computing the Hopf cyclic cohomology of the Hopf algebras associated to infinite primitive Cartan-Lie pseudogroups, and for the transfer of their characteristic classes to foliations. Cohomological finite-generation for finite supergroup schemes

In this paper we compute extension groups in the category of strict polynomial superfunctors and thereby exhibit certain "universal extension classes" for the general linear supergroup. Some of these classes restrict to the universal extension classes for the general linear group exhibited by Friedlander and Suslin, while others arise from purely super phenomena. We then use these extension classes to show that the cohomology ring of a finite supergroup scheme---equivalently of a finite-dimensional cocommutative Hopf superalgebra---over a field is a finitely-generated algebra.
