We propose the one-dimensional reggeon theory describing local pomerons and odderons. It generalizes the well-known one-dimensional theory of pomerons (the Gribov model) and includes only triple interaction vertices. The proposed theory is studied by numerical methods: the one-particle pomeron and odderon propagators and the pA amplitude are found as functions of rapidity by integrating the evolution equation.
We predict glueball/oddball resonances lying on the pomeron/odderon trajectories. A simple new form of the trajectories, with threshold and asymptotic behaviour required by analyticity and unitarity, is proposed. The parameters of these (pomeron and odderon) trajectories are fitted to the data on high-energy elastic proton-proton scattering. The fitted trajectories are extrapolated to the resonance region to predict masses and widths of glueballs and oddballs. The (pomeron and odderon) trajectories may be used to calculate processes of central exclusive diffraction (CED).
In the QCD the small~$x$ evolution of the interacting pomerons and odderons is studied with all angular momenta $l$ taken into account. The resulting system of coupled nonlinear evolution equations is formulated in the momentum space and solved numerically. Excellent convergence in $l$ is observed. Also it is found that states with $l>1$ play an important role and substantially reduce the basic pomeron state at large rapidities
In this paper, the inclusive Pomeron-Pomeron, Reggeon-Reggeon, Pomeron-Reggeon as well as gluon-Pomeron(-Reggeon) and photon-Pomeron(-Reggeon) interactions for the $\rm η_{c}$ at the LHC energies have been examined in proton-proton, proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collision modes. The cross section has been computed based on the NRQCD factorization and Regge theory formalism. The cross exchange of Pomeron-Reggeon contribution is important in $\rm pp$ and $\rm pA$ modes. The Pomeron-Pomeron contribution is significant in $\rm AA$ mode. The Pomeron contribution is considerable for $\rm AA$ an…
In this paper we extend our recent non perturbative functional renormalization group analysis of Reggeon Field Theory to the interactions of Pomeron and Odderon fields. We establish the existence of a fixed point and its universal properties, which exhibits a novel symmetry structure in the space of Odderon-Pomeron interactions. As in our previous analysis, this part of our program aims at the investigation of the IR limit of reggeon field theory (the limit of high energies and large transverse distances). It should be seen in the broader context of trying to connect the nonperturbative infrar…
我们考虑的第一个大型强子对撞机数据pp碰撞的框架下的Regge理论。由Pomeron交换决定了二次电子的积分截面和包含密度,并给出了相应的预言。对中快度区包含密度的首次测量与这些预言是一致的。Odderon(Reggeon with alpha(Odd)(0)~ 1 and negative signature)交换对中心区域粒子和反粒子包容谱差异的可能贡献在LHC能量下可能是显著的。ALICE合作的第一批数据与Odderon的一个非常小的贡献是一致的。也许,进一步的LHC数据肯定会解决Odderon存在的问题。
In this paper one presents a naive parametrization to $pp$ and $\bar{p}p$ total cross sections. The main goal of this parametrization is to study the possible fractal structure present in the total cross section. The result of the fitting procedure shows two different fractal dimensions: a negative (low-energies) and a positive (high-energies). The negative fractal dimension represents the emptiness of the total cross section structure and the positive represents the filling up process with the energy increase. Hence, the total cross section presents a multifractal behavior. At low-energies, t…
We review some selected results of the tensor-pomeron and vector-odderon model of soft high-energy proton-proton scattering and central exclusive production of meson and baryon pairs in proton-proton collisions. We discuss the theoretical aspects of this approach and consider the phenomenological implications in a variety of processes at high energies, comparing to existing experimental data. We consider the diffractive dipion and dikaon production including the continuum and the dominant scalar and tensor resonance contributions as well as the photoproduction processes. The theoretical result…
At high center-of-mass energies scattering amplitudes enjoy a hidden integrability. An important example in QCD is Odderon exchange, a composite state of three reggeized gluons, with can be understood as a closed spin chain with periodic boundary conditions. In the N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory a similar open spin chain appears for the planar eight-point amplitude. We solve these two examples in transverse momentum and rapidity space, introducing the concept of weighted graph complexity and its associated emerging scaling laws.
We study the rapidity dependence of the cross section on the rapidity of the central exclusive production cross sections of C-even mesons in $pA$ and $AA$ collisions, where $A$ is a heavy ion. We observe qualitatively different behaviour of the contributions arising from $γ$-Odderon and Pomeron-Pomeron fusion mechanisms. This can be used to extract the Odderon signal from the events of $f_2$ mesons exclusively produced in the forward region. Estimates, obtained using expected values of the Odderon cross section, indicate that the $γ$-Odderon contribution may exceed by a few times the Pomeron-i…
We consider the reaction (gamma p) to (pi+ pi- p) at high energies. Our description includes dipion production via the resonances rho, omega, rho-prime and f2, and via non-resonant mechanisms. The calculation is based on a model of high energy scattering with the exchanges of photon, pomeron, odderon and reggeons. The pomeron and the C=+1 reggeons are described as effective tensor exchanges, the odderon and the C=-1 reggeons as effective vector exchanges. We obtain a gauge-invariant version of the Drell-Soeding mechanism which produces the skewing of the rho-meson shape. Starting from the expl…
Single-spin asymmetry from pomeron-odderon interference
We discuss the possibility to use the $pp \to pp ϕϕ$ process in identifying the odderon exchange. So far there is no unambiguous experimental evidence for the odderon, the charge conjugation $C = -1$ counterpart of the $C= +1$ pomeron. Last year results of the TOTEM collaboration suggest that the odderon exchange can be responsible for a disagreement of theoretical calculations and the TOTEM data for elastic proton-proton scattering. Here we present recent studies for central exclusive production (CEP) of $ϕϕ$ pairs in proton-proton collisions. We consider the pomeron-pomeron fusion to $ϕϕ$ ($…
We consider the one-dimensional local reggeon theory describing the leading pomeron with the conformal spin $l=0$ and two subdominant pomerons with $l=\pm 2$. The dependence of the propagators of pomerons and the $hA$ amplitude on rapidity are found numerically by integrating the evolution equation.
In the paper we propose and solve analytically the non-linear evolution equation in the leading twist approximation for the Odderon contribution. We found three qualitative features of this solution, which differs the Odderon contribution from the Pomeron one :(i) the behaviour in the vicinity of the saturation scale cannot be derived from the linear evolution in a dramatic difference with the Pomeron case; (ii) a substantial decrease of the Odderon contribution with the energy; and (iii) the lack of geometric scaling behaviour. The two last features have been seen in numerical attempts to sol…
We explore the possibility of observing odderon exchange in the $pp \to pp K^{+}K^{-}$ and $pp \to pp μ^{+}μ^{-}$ reactions at the LHC. We consider the central exclusive production (CEP) of the $ϕ(1020)$ resonance decaying into $K^{+} K^{-}$ and $μ^{+}μ^{-}$. We compare the purely diffractive contribution (odderon-pomeron fusion) to the photoproduction contribution (photon-pomeron fusion). The theoretical results are calculated within the tensor-pomeron and vector-odderon model for soft reactions. We include absorptive corrections at the amplitude level. In order to fix the coupling constants …
We discuss exclusive central diffractive production of scalar ($f_{0}(980)$, $f_{0}(1370)$, $f_{0}(1500)$), pseudoscalar ($η$, $η'(958)$), and vector ($ρ^{0}$) mesons in proton-proton collisions. The amplitudes are formulated in terms of effective vertices required to respect standard rules of Quantum Field Theory and propagators for the exchanged pomeron and reggeons. Different pomeron-pomeron-meson tensorial (vectorial) coupling structures are possible in general. In most cases two lowest orbital angular momentum - spin couplings are necessary to describe experimental differential distributi…
We introduce a new model of near-forward elastic proton-(anti)proton scattering at high energy based on the modern formulation of Pomeron and Odderon in terms of Wilson lines and generalized TMDs (GTMDs). We compute the helicity-dependent elastic amplitudes $ϕ_{1,2,3,4,5}$ in this model and study their energy dependence from the nonlinear small-$x$ evolution equations. While both Pomeron and Odderon contribute to helicity-flip processes in general, in the forward limit $t=0$ only the double helicity-flip amplitude $ϕ_2$, dominated by the spin-dependent Odderon, survives. This may affect the ex…
In the quest for an effective field theory which could help to understand some non perturbative feature of the QCD in the Regge limit, we consider a Reggeon Field Theory (RFT) for both Pomeron and Odderon interactions and perform an analysys of the critical theory using functional renormalization group techniques, unveiling a novel symmetry structure.
In this letter we demonstrate that a model which is based on the CGC/saturation approach, is able to describe soft interaction collisions for the wide range of $W=\sqrt{s} = 30 \,GeV ÷\, 13 \,TeV$ including the new TOTEM data at 13 TeV. We have incorporated the secondary Reggeons in our approach which enables us to describe the complete set of the soft data, including the energy behaviour of $ρ$ the ratio of the real to imaginary parts of the elastic scattering amplitude. We argue that it is premature to claim that an odderon contribution is necessary, but estimate its possible strength as $1 …
The possibility to use the exclusive $pp \to pp ϕ$ and $pp \to pp ϕϕ$ reactions in identifying the odderon exchange is discussed. So far there is no unambiguous experimental evidence for the odderon, the charge conjugation $C = -1$ counterpart of the $C = +1$ pomeron. Recently proposed tensor-pomeron and vector-odderon model for soft high-energy reactions is applied. For the $p p \to p p ϕ$ reaction at high energies the photon-pomeron fusion is the dominant process and the odderon-pomeron fusion is an interesting alternative. Adding odderon exchange improves considerably description of the pro…
We use holographic QCD to study Pomeron- and Reggeon-mediated central production in Regge regime hadronic scattering. We focus specifically on $η$ production in proton-proton collisions. While previous work studied the Pomeron-mediated process, the mesonic Regge trajectories ("Reggeons") we now incorporate contribute significantly at experimentally probed energies. We use the five-point open string amplitude (in flat space) to construct approximate propagators for the Reggeon states, and the five-point closed string amplitude for the Pomeron. Using these "holographic" Reggeons and Pomerons, an…
From the perspective of AdS/CFT the Pomeron is identified with a Reggeized Graviton, while the Odderons correspond to Reggeized anti-symmetric $AdS_5$ Kalb-Ramond tensor-fields. In this paper, we consider the strong coupling expansion of the dimension of the leading twist operators dual to these Regge trajectories, $Δ(j)$, to determine its analytic continuation in $j$ beyond the diffusion limit. In particular, we compute the strong coupling expansion of the intercept to order $λ^{-3}$, where $λ$ is the t'Hooft coupling, for both the Pomeron, which is $C=+1$ crossing-even, and the "Odderons", w…
