We prove that every non-degenerate Banach space representation of the Drinfeld-Jimbo algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ of a semisimple complex Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ is finite dimensional when $|q|\ne 1$. As a corollary, we find an explicit form of the Arens-Michael envelope of $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$, which is similar to that of $U(\mathfrak{g})$ obtained by Joseph Taylor in 70s. In the case when $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_2$, we also consider the representation theory of the corresponding analytic form $\widetilde U(\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_2)_\hbar$ (with $e^\hbar=q$) and show that it is simpler than for $U_q(\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_2)$. For example, all irreducible continuous representations of $\widetilde U(\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_2)_\hbar$ are finite dimensional for every admissible value of the complex parameter $\hbar$, while $U_q(\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_2)$ has a topologically irreducible infinite-dimensional representation when $|q|= 1$ and $q$ is not a root of unity.
We explain how quantum affine algebra actions can be used to systematically construct "exotic" t-structures. The main idea, roughly speaking, is to take advantage of the two different descriptions of quantum affine algebras, the Drinfeld--Jimbo and the Kac--Moody realizations. Our main application is to obtain exotic t-structures on certain convolution varieties defined using the Beilinson--Drinfeld and affine Grassmannians. These varieties play an important role in the geometric Langlands program, knot homology constructions, K-theoretic geometric Satake and the coherent Satake category. As a…
For every semi-simple Lie algebra one can construct the Drinfeld-Jimbo algebra U. This algebra is a deformation Hopf algebra defined by generators and relations. To study the representation theory of U, Drinfeld used the KZ-equations to construct a quasi-Hopf algebra A. He proved that particular categories of modules over the algebras U and A are tensor equivalent. Analogous constructions of the algebras U and A exist in the case of Lie superalgebra of type A-G. However, Drinfeld's proof of the above equivalence of categories does not generalize to Lie superalgebras. In this paper, we will dis…
We define integrable representations of quantum toroidal algebras of type A by tensor product, using the Drinfeld "coproduct". This allow us to recover the vector representations recently introduced by Feigin-Jimbo-Miwa-Mukhin [6] and constructed by the author [21] as a subfamily of extremal loop weight modules. In addition we get new extremal loop weight modules as subquotients of tensor powers of vector representations. As an application we obtain finite-dimensional representations of quantum toroidal algebras by specializing the quantum parameter at roots of unity.
We describe properties of the nonstandard q-deformation $U'_q({\rm so}_n)$ of the universal enveloping algebra $U({\rm so}_n)$ of the Lie algebra ${\rm so}_n$ which does not coincide with the Drinfeld--Jimbo quantum algebra $U_q({\rm so}_n)$. Irreducible representations of this algebras for q a root of unity q^p=1 are given. These representations act on p^N-dimensional linear space (where N is a number of positive roots of the Lie algebra ${\rm so}_n$) and are given by $r={\rm dim} {\rm so}_n$ complex parameters.
The aim of this paper is to give a complete classification of irreducible finite dimensional representations of the nonstandard q-deformation U'_q(so(n)) (which does not coincide with the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum algebra U_q(so(n)) of the universal enveloping algebra U(so(n,C)) of the Lie algebra so(n,C) when q is not a root of unity. These representations are exhausted by irreducible representations of the classical type and of the nonclassical type. Theorem on complete reducibility of finite dimensional representations of U'_q(so(n)) is proved.
In this paper, we begin the study of highest weight representations of the quantized enveloping superalgebra ${\mathfrak U}_q {\mathfrak p}_n$ of type $P$. We introduce a Drinfeld-Jimbo representation and establish a triangular-decomposition of ${\mathfrak U}_q {\mathfrak p}_n$. We explain how to relate modules over ${\mathfrak U}_q {\mathfrak p}_n$ to modules over ${\mathfrak p}_n$, the Lie superalgebra of type $P$, and we prove that the category of tensor modules over ${\mathfrak U}_q {\mathfrak p}_n$ is not semisimple.
Noncompact forms of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum groups U_q(g) with (H_i)* = H_i, (X_i^{+-})* = s_i X_i^{-+} for s_i= +-1 are studied at roots of unity. This covers g = so(n,2p), su(n,p), so*(2l), sp(n,p), sp(l,R), and exceptional cases. Finite-dimensional unitary representations are found for all these forms, for even roots of unity. Their classical symmetry induced by the Frobenius-map is determined, and the meaning of the extra quasi-classical generators appearing at even roots of unity is clarified. The unitary highest weight modules of the classical case are recovered in the limit q -> 1.
We describe properties of the nonstandard q-deformation U'_q(so_n) of the universal enveloping algebra U(so_n) of the Lie algebra so_n which does not coincide with the Drinfeld--Jimbo quantum algebra U_q(so_n). In particular, it is shown that there exists an isomorphism from U'_q(so_n) to U_q(sl_n) and that finite dimensional irreducible representations of U'_q(so_n) separate elements of this algebra. Irreducible representations of the algebras U'_q(so_n) for q a root of unity q^p=1 are given. The main class of these representations act on p^N-dimensional linear space (where N is a number of p…
A classification of finite dimensional irreducible representations of the nonstandard $q$-deformation $U'_q(so_n)$ of the universal enveloping algebra $U(so(n, C))$ of the Lie algebra $so(n, C)$ (which does not coincides with the Drinfeld--Jimbo quantized universal enveloping algebra $U_q(so_n)$) is given for the case when $q$ is not a root of unity. It is shown that such representations are exhausted by representations of the classical and nonclassical types. Examples of the algebras $U'_q(so_3)$ and $U'_q(so_4)$ are considered in detail. The notions of weights, highest weights, highest weigh…
The q-deformed algebra ${\rm so}'_q(r,s)$ is a real form of the q-deformed algebra $U'_q({\rm so}(n,\mathbb{C}))$, $n=r+s$, which differs from the quantum algebra $U_q({\rm so}(n,\mathbb{C}))$ of Drinfeld and Jimbo. We study representations of the most degenerate series of the algebra ${\rm so}'_q(r,s)$. The formulas of action of operators of these representations upon the basis corresponding to restriction of representations onto the subalgebra ${\rm so}'_q(r)\times {\rm so}'_q(s)$ are given. Most of these representations are irreducible. Reducible representations appear under some conditions…
We study the nonstandard $q$-deformation $U'_q({\rm so}_4)$ of the universal enveloping algebra $U({\rm so}_4)$ obtained by deforming the defining relations for skew-symmetric generators of $U({\rm so}_4)$. This algebra is used in quantum gravity and algebraic topology. We construct a homomorphism $ϕ$ of $U'_q({\rm so}_4)$ to the certain nontrivial extension of the Drinfeld--Jimbo quantum algebra $U_q({\rm sl}_2)^{\otimes 2}$ and show that this homomorphism is an isomorphism. By using this homomorphism we construct irreducible finite dimensional representations of the classical type and of the…
We apply the mechanism of factorization homology to construct and compute category-valued two-dimensional topological field theories associated to braided tensor categories, generalizing the $(0,1,2)$-dimensional part of Crane-Yetter-Kauffman 4D TFTs associated to modular categories. Starting from modules for the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group $U_q(\mathfrak g)$ we obtain in this way an aspect of topologically twisted 4-dimensional ${\mathcal N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory, the setting introduced by Kapustin-Witten for the geometric Langlands program. For punctured surfaces, in particular, we pro…
