In this paper, the Schrodinger equation for s-wave and arbitrary angular momenta with the Modified Mobuis Square potential is investigated respectively. The eigenfunctions as well as energy eigenvalues are obtained in an exact analytical manner via the Nikiforov Uvarov method using two approximations scheme. Some special cases of this potentials are also studied.
We employ the point canonical transformation (PCT) to solve the D-dimensional Schrödinger equation with position-dependent effective mass (PDEM) function for two molecular pseudoharmonic and modified Kratzer (Mie-type) potentials. In mapping the transformed exactly solvable D-dimensional ($D\geq 2$) Schrödinger equation with constant mass into the effective mass equation by employing a proper transformation, the exact bound state solutions including the energy eigenvalues and corresponding wave functions are derived. The well-known pseudoharmonic and modified Kratzer exact eigenstates of vario…
According to classical non-relativistic Schrödinger equation, any local perturbation of wave function instantaneously affects all infinite region, because this equation is of parabolic type, and its solutions demonstrate infinite speed of perturbations propagation. From physical point of view, this feature of Schrödinger equation solutions is questionable. According to relativistic quantum mechanics, the perturbations propagate with speed of light. However when appropriate mathematical procedures are applied to Dirac relativistic quantum equation with finite speed of the wave function perturba…
Exact solutions of Schrodinger equation are obtained for the modified Kratzer and the corrected Morse potentials with the position-dependent effective mass. The bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions are calculated for any angular momentum for target potentials. Various forms of point canonical transformations are applied. In this paper, we solve the D-dimensional Schrödinger equation with hyperbolic Poschl-Teller potential plus a generalized ring-shaped potential. After the separation of variable in the hyperspherical coordinate. We used Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method to solve the resulting radial equation and obtain explicitly the energy level and the corresponding wave function in closed form. The solutions to the angular part are solved using the NU approach as well.
We present analytically the exact energy bound-states solutions of the Schrodinger equation in D-dimensions for a recently proposed modified Kratzer potential plus ring-shaped potential by means of the conventional Nikiforov-Uvarov method. We give a clear recipe of how to obtain an explicit solution to the wave functions in terms of orthogonal polynomials. The results obtained in this work are more general and true for any dimension which can be reduced to the standard forms in three-dimensions given by other works.
A causal interpretation of the quantum world needs second quantization in order to cover phenomena like creation and annihilation of particles, and this leads to quantum field theory. The causal effects of the second quantization can be described through a new quantum potential. In this article we have dealt with the second quantization of Schrodinger and its effects on the path of a particle. This generalization leads to a modified Schrodinger which affects the particle through a modified quantum potential and a new term in the continuity equation. We have shown that these effects can provide…
In the paper the Schrodinger equation (SE) with gravity term is developed and discussed. It is shown that the modified SE is valid for particles with mass m<M_P, M_P is the Planck mass, and contains the part which, we argue describes the pilot wave. For m \to M_P the modified SE has the solution with oscillatory term, i.e. strings. Key words: Schrodinger-Newton equation; Planck time; pilot wave.
The Schrödinger equation with the central potential is first studied in the arbitrary dimensional spaces and obtained an analogy of the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation for the radial wave function through a simple transformation. As an example, applying an ${\it ansatz}$ to the eigenfunctions, we then arrive at an exact closed form solution to the modified two-dimensional Schrödinger equation with the octic potential, $V(r)=ar^2-br^4+cr^6-dr^4+er^{10}$.
We study a recently proposed modified Schrödinger equation having an added nonlinear term. For the case where a stochastic term is added to the Hamiltonian, the fluctuating response is found to resemble the process of thermalization. Disentanglement induced by the added nonlinear term is explored for a system made of two coupled spins. A butterfly-like effect is found near fully entangled states of the spin-spin system. A limit cycle solution is found when one of the spins is externally driven.
We modify the time dependent Schrödinger-Newton equation by using a potential for a solid sphere suggested by Jääskeläinen (Jääskeläinen 2012 Phys. Rev. A 86 052105) as well as a hollow-sphere potential. Compared to our recent paper (Giulini and Großardt 2011 Class. Quantum Grav. 28 195026) where a single point-particle, i.e. a Coulomb potential, was considered this has been suggested to be a more realistic model for a molecule. Surprisingly, compared to our previous results, inhibitions of dispersion of a Gaussian wave packet occur at even smaller masses for the solid-sphere potential, given …
We tried to determine the range of validity of a recently proposed modification of the Hellmann potential that leads to analytical eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. We discuss the difficulties that we found in the analysis of the main equations and results. We conclude that the eigenvalues reported by the authors do not exhibit the same order as those of the Hellmann potential thus leading to a different underlying physics. What is more: the spectrum of the modified model is qualitatively different from the one supported by the Hellmann potential.
Making an ansatz to the wave function, the exact solutions of the $D$% -dimensional radial Schrodinger equation with some molecular potentials like pseudoharmonic and modified Kratzer potentials are obtained. The restriction on the parameters of the given potential, $δ$ and $η$ are also given, where $η$ depends on a linear combination of the angular momentum quantum number $\ell $ and the spatial dimensions $D$ and $δ$ is a parameter in the ansatz to the wave function. On inserting D=3, we find that the bound state eigensolutions recover their standard analytical forms in literature.
The linear Schrödinger equation does not predict that macroscopic bodies should be located at one place only. Quantum mechanics textbooks generally solve the problem by introducing the projection postulate, which forces definite values to emerge during position measurements; many other interpretations have also been proposed.\ Here, in the same spirit as the GRW and CSL theories, we modify the Schrödinger equation in a way that efficiently cancels macroscopic density fluctuations in space.\ Instead of introducing the stochastic dynamics of GRW or CSL, we assume a deterministic dynamics that in…
We present modified $\ell$-states of diatomic molecules by solving the radial and angle-dependent parts of the Schrödinger equation for central potentials, such as Morse and Kratzer, plus an exactly solvable angle-dependent potential $V_θ(θ)/r^2$ within the framework of the Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. We emphasize that the contribution which comes from the solution of the Schrödinger equation for the angle-dependent potential modifies the usual angular momentum quantum number $\ell$. We calculate explicitly bound state energies of a number of neutral diatomic molecules composed of a first-ro…
In the one-dimensional stationary case, we construct a mechanical Lagrangian describing the quantum motion of a non-relativistic spinless system. This Lagrangian is written as a difference between a function $T$, which represents the quantum generalization of the kinetic energy and which depends on the coordinate $x$ and the temporal derivatives of $x$ up the third order, and the classical potential $V(x)$. The Hamiltonian is then constructed and the corresponding canonical equations are deduced. The function $T$ is first assumed arbitrary. The development of $T$ in a power series together wit…
