The mass components of charmoniumlike states are investigated through the decomposition of QCD energy-momentum tensor (EMT) on lattice. The quark mass contribution $\langle H_m\rangle$ and the momentum fraction $\langle x\rangle$ of valence charm quark and antiquark are calculated for conventional $1S,1P,1D$ charmonia and the exotic $1^{-+}$ charmoniumlike state, based on the $N_f=2+1$ gauge configurations generated by the RBC/UKQCD collaboration. It is found that $\langle H_m\rangle$ is close to each other and around 2.0 to 2.2 GeV for these states, which implies that the mass splittings among these states come almost from the gluon contribution of QCD trace anomaly. The $\langle x\rangle$ of the $1^{-+}$ state is only around 0.55, while that in conventional charmonia is around 0.7 to 0.8. This difference manifests that the proportion of light quarks and gluons in the $1^{-+}$ charmoniumlike state is significantly larger than conventional states.
We study numerically the chromoelectric-chromomagnetic asymmetry of the dimension two gluon condensate as well as the longitudinal gluon propagator at $T\simeq T_c$ in the Landau-gauge $SU(2)$ lattice gauge theory. We show that substantial correlation between the asymmetry and the Polyakov loop as well as the correlation between the longitudinal propagator and the Polyakov loop pave the way to studies of the critical behavior of the asymmetry and the longitudinal propagator. The respective values of critical exponents and amplitudes are evaluated.
The gluon condensate, $\langle \frac{α_s}π G^2 \rangle$, i.e. the leading order power correction in the operator product expansion of current correlators in QCD at short distances, is determined from $e^+ e^-$ annihilation data in the charm-quark region. This determination is based on finite energy QCD sum rules, weighted by a suitable integration kernel to (i) account for potential quark-hadron duality violations, (ii) enhance the contribution of the well known first two narrow resonances, the $J/ψ$ and the $ψ(2S)$, while quenching substantially the data region beyond, and (iii) reinforce the…
We perform a direct calculation of the gluon momentum fraction of the nucleon using maximally twisted mass fermion ensembles with $N_f=2+1+1$ flavors at a pion mass of about $370\,\mathrm{MeV}$ and a lattice spacing of $a\approx 0.082\,\mathrm{fm}$ and with $N_f=2$ flavors at the physical pion mass and a lattice spacing of $a\approx 0.093\,\mathrm{fm}$. In the definition of the gluon operator we employ stout smearing to obtain a statistically significant result for the bare matrix elements. In addition, we perform a lattice perturbative calculation including 2 levels of stout smearing to carry…
Gluon dressing of the light quarks within hadrons is very strong and extremely important in that it dynamically generates most of the observable mass through the breaking of chiral symmetry. The quark and gluon parton densities, $q(x)$ and $g(x)$, are necessarily interrelated since any gluon emission and absorption process, especially dressing of a quark, contributes to $g(x)$ and modifies $q(x)$. Guided by long-established results for the parton-in-parton distributions from a strict 1-loop perturbative analysis of a quark target, we extend the non-perturbative QCD approach based on the Rainbo…
We determine within lattice QCD, the nucleon spin carried by valence and sea quarks, and gluons. The calculation is performed using an ensemble of gauge configurations with two degenerate light quarks with mass fixed to approximately reproduce the physical pion mass. We find that the total angular momentum carried by the quarks in the nucleon is $J_{u+d+s}{=}0.408(61)_{\rm stat.}(48)_{\rm syst.}$ and the gluon contribution is $J_g {=}0.133(11)_{\rm stat.}(14)_{\rm syst.}$ giving a total of $J_N{=}0.54(6)_{\rm stat.}(5)_{\rm syst.}$ consistent with the spin sum. For the quark intrinsic spin con…
To understand the structure of hadrons it is important to know the PDF of their constituents, the quarks and gluons. In our work we aim to compute the first moment of the gluon PDF $\langle x \rangle_g$ for the nucleon. We follow two possible approaches in order to extract the gluon moment: the Feynman-Hellmann theorem and a direct method with smearing of the gluon operator. We present preliminary results computed on $24^3 \times 48$ lattices for the case where the Feynman-Hellman theorem is used and $32^3 \times 64$ lattices for the direct method, employing $N_f=2+1+1$ maximally twisted mass …
We present the nonperturbatively renormalized nucleon gluon momentum fraction using ensembles with $2+1+1$ flavors of highly improved staggered quarks (HISQ), generated by MILC Collaboration. The calculation is done using clover fermions for the valence action with three pion masses, $220$, $310$ and $690$ MeV and three lattice spacings, 0.09, 0.12, and 0.15 fm. The renormalization is done using RI/MOM nonperturbative renormalization and using cluster-decomposition error reduction (CDER) to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio of the renormalization constant. We find the CDER technique is particu…
We briefly review and expand our recent analysis for all three invariant A,B,D gravitational form factors of the nucleon in holographic QCD. They compare well to the gluonic gravitational form factors recently measured using lattice QCD simulations. The holographic A-term is fixed by the tensor $T=2^{++}$ (graviton) Regge trajectory, and the D-term by the difference between the tensor $T=2^{++}$ (graviton) and scalar $S=0^{++}$ (dilaton) Regge trajectories. The B-term is null in the absence of a tensor coupling to a Dirac fermion in bulk. A first measurement of the tensor form factor A-term is…
We derive the Operator Product Expansion whose vacuum expectation value gives the time-moments of the pseudoscalar heavy-light current-current correlator up to and including terms in $α_s^2$ multiplying $\langle\overlineψψ\rangle/M^3$ and terms in $α_s$ multiplying $\langle α_s G^2 \rangle/M^4$, where $M$ is the heavy-quark mass. Using lattice QCD results for heavy-strange correlators obtained for a variety of heavy quark masses on gluon field configurations including $u$, $d$ and $s$ quarks in the sea at three values of the lattice spacing, we are able to show that the contribution of the str…
Hadron masses are subject to few MeV corrections arising from QED interactions, almost entirely arising from the electric charge of the valence quarks. The QED effects include both self-energy contributions and interactions between the valence quarks/anti-quarks. By combining results from different signs of the valence quark electric charge we are able to isolate the interaction term which is dominated by the Coulomb piece, $\langle α_{\mathrm{QED}}e_{q_1}e_{\overline{q}_2}/r \rangle$, in the nonrelativistic limit. We study this for $D_s$, $η_c$ and $J/ψ$ mesons, working in lattice QCD plus qu…
This article gives details of our proposal to replace ordinary chiral $SU(3)_L\times SU(3)_R$ perturbation theory $χ$PT$_3$ by 3-flavor chiral-scale perturbation theory $χ$PT$_σ$. In $χ$PT$_σ$, amplitudes are expanded at low energies and small $u,d,s$ quark masses about an infrared fixed point $α^{}_\mathrm{IR}$ of 3-flavor QCD. At $α^{}_\mathrm{IR}$, the quark condensate $\langle \bar{q}q\rangle_{\mathrm{vac}} \not= 0$ induces nine Nambu-Goldstone bosons: $π, K, η$ and a $0^{++}$ QCD dilaton $σ$. Physically, $σ$ appears as the $f_{0}(500)$ resonance, a pole at a complex mass with real part $\…
