In this work, we investigate a new warped five-dimensional, Z2-symmetric thick brane solution in the presence of a real scalar field. We examine the different geometric aspects of the model. We discuss the stability of the solution under gravitational fluctuations and study both the graviton ground state and the continuum of Kaluza-Klein modes to find a correction to Newtons law. Then, we study the quantum version of the model by deriving the Wheeler-DeWitt equation and looking for the corresponding solution. Finally, the cosmology of the brane is studied.
The explicit coordinate transformations which show the equivalence between a four-dimensional spatially flat cosmology and an appropriate submanifold in the flat five-dimensional Minkowski space-time are presented. Analogous procedure is made for the case of five-dimensional warped brane world models. Several examples are presented.
Energy momentum tensor of a conformally coupled quantum scalar field in five dimensional warped cosmological spacetimes is studied. We look at situations where the four dimensional part represents a cosmological thick brane and the scale of the extra dimension is time dependent. Renormalization of the components of the energy momentum tensor is achieved using adiabatic regularization method. The resulting energy and pressure densities explicitly show the effects of warping and the dynamic extra dimension on the created matter. We discussed how the created matter may accumulate to form thick br…
We study dynamics of the equation of state parameter for a dark energy component non-minimally coupled to induced gravity on a warped DGP brane. We show that there are appropriate domains of the model parameters space that account for crossing of the phantom divide line. This crossing, which is possible for both branches of the scenario, depends explicitly on the values of the non-minimal coupling and warp factor. The effect of warp factor appears in the value of the redshift parameter at which phantom divide line crossing occurs.
Brane and warped Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati inflationary universe models in the context of intermediate inflation are studied. In both models we consider that the energy density is a standard scalar field and we discuss the evolution of the universe during the slow-roll inflation. Also, we describe the conditions for these models. The corresponding Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe seven year data are utilized to fix some parameters in our models. Our results are compared to those found in General Relativity.
This work deals with $f(R)$ modified gravity in five dimensional space-time. The Gaussian thick brane is shown to be an exact solution in the frame work of $f(R)$ gravity in five dimensions with a bulk cosmological constant. Response of the brane to gravitational fluctuations and concordance with the Starobinsky model is addressed. It is shown that the matter which supports the Starobinsky $f(R)$ solution with the background geometry being flat FLRW with a Gaussian warp function, behaves like a radiation dominated era of universe, gradually changing to a dark energy dominated era.
Branes are embedded surfaces in a given background (bulk) spacetime. Assuming a warped bulk, we investigate, in analogy with the case for geodesics, the notion of {\em focusing} of families of such embedded, extremal 3--branes in a five dimensional background . The essential tool behind our analysis, is the well-known generalised Raychaudhuri equations for surface congruences. In particular, we find explicit solutions of these equations, which seem to show that families of 3--branes can focus along lower dimensional submanifolds depending on where the initial expansions are specified. We concl…
We study the evolution of relic D3-branes after the D3/\bd-brane inflation in string warped compactification. The motion of D3-branes can be frozen under certain condition during the radiation/matter domination. These D3-branes can not be released until the D3/\bd-branes potential energy becomes dominated at late time. Subsequently they will move towards to \bd-branes, which play the role of uplifting AdS minimum to dS minimum, near the apex of throats. The annihilation of D3/\bd-branes leads to the disappearance of dS vacua. This process may be regarded as a rapid decay channel of present dS …
Energy momentum tensor of a quantized massless bulk spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ field in five dimensional warped cosmological spacetimes is studied. The four dimensional part of our model represents a warped cosmological thick brane and the scale of the extra dimension is time-dependent. We use a simple ansatz to solve the Dirac equation in the bulk that helps us to compare our results with the known four dimensional case. Renormalisation of the components of the energy momentum tensor is achieved using adiabatic regularization method. We compute the leading order finite contribution to the stress-ener…
In this paper, we have considered a 5-dimensional warped product space-time with a timedependent warp factor. The time-dependent warp factor plays an important role in localizing matter to the 4-dimensional hypersurface constituting the observed universe. We then proceed to determine the nature of modifications produced in the bulk geometry as well as the consequences on the corresponding braneworld. The five-dimensional field equations are constructed. For the bulk metric chosen, the Weyl tensor is found to vanish under a certain condition, thereby satisfying the conditions of a constant curv…
In this paper, we investigate the Einstein equations with cosmological constant for Randall-Sundrum (RS) and Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) models to determine the warp functions in the context of warp product spacetimes. In RS model, it is shown that Einstein's equation in the bulk is reduced into the brane as a vacuum equation, having vacuum solution, which is not affected by the cosmological constant in the bulk. In DGP model, it is shown that the Einstein's equation in the bulk is reduced into the brane and along the extra dimension, where both equations are affected by the cosmological con…
In the braneworld scenario ordinary standard model matter and on-gravitational fields are confined by some trapping mechanism to the 4-dimensional universe constituting the D3-branes which are embedded in a (4 + n)-dimensional manifold referred to as the bulk (n being the number of extra dimensions). The notion of particle confinement is necessary for theories with non-compact extra dimensions, otherwise, the particles would escape from our 4-dimensional world along unseen directions. In this paper, we have considered a five-dimensional warped product space-time having an exponential warping f…
We investigate test particle trajectories in warped spacetimes with a thick brane warp factor, a cosmological on--brane line element and a time dependent extra dimension. The geodesic equations are reduced to a first order autonomous dynamical system. Using analytical methods, we arrive at some useful general conclusions regarding possible trajectories. Oscillatory motion, suggesting confinement about the location of the thick brane, arises for a growing warp factor. On the other hand, we find runaway trajectories (exponential-like) for a decaying warp factor. Variations of the extra dimension…
The `braneworld' (described by the usual worldvolume action) is a D dimensional timelike surface embedded in a N dimensional ($N>D$) warped, nonfactorisable spacetime. We first address the conditions on the warp factor required to have an extremal flat brane in a five dimensional background. Subsequently, we deal with normal deformations of such extremal branes. The ensuing Jacobi equations are analysed to obtain the stability condition. It turns out that to have a stable brane, the warp factor should have a minimum at the location of the brane in the given background spacetime. To illustrate …
In this article, we explore the kinematics of timelike geodesic congruences in warped five dimensional bulk spacetimes, with and without thick or thin branes. Beginning with geodesic flows in the Randall--Sundrum AdS (Anti de Sitter) geometry without and with branes we find analytical expressions for the expansion scalar and comment on the effects of including thin branes on its evolution. Later, we move on to congruences in more general warped bulk geometries with a cosmological thick brane and a time-dependent extra dimensional scale. Using analytical expressions for the velocity field, we i…
Ellis-Bronnikov (EB) wormholes require violation of null energy conditions at the `throat'. This problem was cured by a simple modification of the `shape function', which introduces a new parameter $m\ge 2$ ($m=2$ corresponds to the EB model). This leads to a generalised (GEB) version. In this work, we consider a model where the GEB wormhole geometry is embedded in a five dimensional warped background. We studied the status of all the energy conditions in detail for both EB and GEB embedding. We present our results analytically (wherever possible) and graphically. Remarkably, the presence of d…
We generalize nested multiply warped braneworld models by incorporating non-zero brane curvature caused by an effective cosmological constant Ω induced on the 3-branes. Starting with the doubly warped model, we first analyze the case where the maximally warped brane is identified as the visible brane. For Ω < 0, resolution of the gauge hierarchy problem imposes a small upper bound on |Ω|, and can possibly lead to positivity of all the 3-brane tensions. For Ω > 0, the latter is not possible but the tuning of the cosmological constant to its tiny observed value is linked to the tuning of the ext…
In this paper, we discuss the time-dependent brane solutions in higher-dimensional supergravity theories. We particularly focus on the dynamical extensions of the intersecting brane solutions involving three branes. We also show that in the near-horizon limits, where the time dependence is negligible, these branes describe warped anti-de Sitter spacetimes as in the corresponding static solutions. We finally examine the lower-dimensional cosmological dynamics obtained after compactifications of the higher-dimensional solutions and show the solutions we have found give the four-dimensional unive…
We consider the non-minimally kinetic coupled version of DGP brane model, where the kinetic term of the scalar field is coupled to the metric and Einstein tensor on the brane by a coupling constant $ζ$. We obtain the corresponding field equations, using the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric and the perfect fluid, and study the inflationary scenario to confront the numerical analysis of six typical scalar field potentials with the current observational results. We find that among the suggested potentials and coupling constants, subject to the e-folding $N=60$, the potentials $V(ϕ)=σϕ$, $V(ϕ)=σϕ…
If we live on the weak brane with zero effective cosmological constant in a warped 5D bulk spacetime, gravitational waves and brane fluctuations can be generated by a part of the 5D Weyl tensor and carries information of the gravitational field outside the brane. We consider on a cylindrical symmetric warped FRW background the U(1) self-gravitating scalar-gauge field without bulk matter. It turns out that "branons" can be formed dynamically, due to the modified energy-momentum tensor components of the cosmic string. As a result, we find that the late-time behavior could be significant deviate …

We study linearized gravity in a six-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell model of warped braneworlds, where the extra dimensions are compactified by a magnetic flux. It is difficult to construct a strict codimension two braneworld with matter sources other than pure tension. To overcome this problem we replace the codimension two defect by an extended brane, with one spatial dimension compactified on a Kaluza-Klein circle. Our background is composed of a warped, axisymmetric bulk and one or two branes. We find that weak gravity sourced by arbitrary matter on the brane(s) is described by a four-dimens…
A new family of five dimensional, R=0 braneworlds with asymmetric warp factors is proposed. Beginning with the invariance of the Ricci scalar for the general class of asymmetrically warped spacetimes we, subsequently specialise to the R=0 case. Solutions are obtained by choosing a particular relation (involving a parameter $ν$) between the warp factors. Symmetric warping arises as a special case (particular value of $ν$). Over a range of values of $ν$ the energy conditions for the matter stress energy are found to hold good. It turns out that the energy density and pressures required to suppor…
We present the explicit solution to the geodesic equations in a warped de Sitter space-time proposed by Randall-Sundrum. We find that a test particle moves in the bulk and is not restricted on a 3-brane (to be taken as our universe). On the 3-brane, the test particle moves with uniform velocity, giving the appearance that it is not subject to a force. But computing the particle's energy using the energy-momentum tensor yields a time-dependent energy that suggests a time-dependent mass. Thus, the extra force, which is the effect of the warped extra dimension on the particle's motion on the 3-br…
We investigate scalar and tensor fields in the brane model solution for the 5D space-time with standing gravitational waves in the bulk and show that even in the case of increasing warp factor there exist normalizable zero modes localized on the brane.
We deal with scalar field coupled to gravity in five dimensions in warped geometry. We investigate models described by potentials that drive the system to support thick brane solutions that engender internal structure. We find analytical expressions for the brane solutions, and we show that they are all linearly stable.
Within the framework of brane-world models it is possible to account for the cosmological constant by assuming supersymmetry is broken on the 3-brane but preserved in the bulk. An effective Casimir energy is induced on the brane due to the boundary conditions imposed on the compactified extra dimensions. It will be demonstrated that modification of these boundary conditions allows a spacecraft to travel at any desired speed due to a local adjustment of the cosmological constant which effectively contracts/expands space-time in the front/rear of the ship resulting in motion potentially faster t…
We show that brane induced gravity can be realized as a low energy effective theory of brane worlds with asymmetric warped compactification. A self-accelerating universe without cosmological constant on the brane can be realized in a model where one side of the bulk has finite volume, but the other side has infinite volume. The spin-2 perturbations for brane induced gravity and asymmetric warped compactification models have the same spectrum at low energies. For a de Sitter brane, the spin-2 graviton has mass in the range $0<m^2 \leq 2H^2$, with $m^2=2H^2$ in the self-accelerating universe.
The stability of the modular field in a warped brane world scenario has been a subject of interest for a long time. Goldberger \& Wise ( GW ) proposed a mechanism to achieve this by invoking a massive scalar field in the bulk space-time neglecting the back-reaction. In this work, we examine the possibility of stabilizing the modulus without bringing in any external scalar field. We show that instead of flat 3-branes as considered in Randall-Sundrum ( RS ) warped braneworld model, if one considers a more generalized version of warped geometry with de-Sitter 3-brane, then the brane vacuum energy…
We investigate Gaussian warped five-dimensional thick braneworlds. Identification of the graviton's wave function (squared) in the extra-dimension with a probability distribution function leads to a straightforward probabilistic interpretation of braneworlds. The extra-coordinate $y$ is regarded as a Gaussian-distributed random variable. Hence, all of the field variables and operators which depend on $y$ are, also, randomly distributed. Four-dimensional measurable (macroscopic) quantities are identified with the corresponding averaged values over the Gaussian distribution. The present scenario…
We investigated the localization of the spinorial field in a braneworld built as a warped product between a 3-brane and a 2-cycle of the resolved conifold. This scenario provides a geometric flow that controls the singularity at the origin and changes the properties of the fermion in this background. Furthermore, due the cylindrical symmetry according to the 3-brane and a smoothed warp factor, this geometry can be regarded as a near brane correction of the string-like branes. This geometry allows a normalizable and well-defined massless mode whose decay and value on the brane depend on the res…
We derive a low-energy effective theory for gravity with anti-D branes, which are essential to get de Sitter solutions in the type IIB string warped compactification, by taking account of gravitational backreactions of anti-D branes. In order to see the effects of the self-gravity of anti-D branes, a simplified model is studied where a 5-dimensional anti-de Sitter ({\it AdS}) spacetime is realized by the bulk cosmological constant and the 5-form flux, and anti-D branes are coupled to the 5-form field by Chern-Simon terms. The {\it AdS} spacetime is truncated by introducing UV and IR cut-off br…
We find a simple exact solution of 6-dimensional braneworld which captures some essential features of warped flux compactification, including a warped geometry, compactification, a magnetic flux, and one or two 3-brane(s). In this setup we analyze how the Hubble expansion rate on each brane changes when the brane tension changes. It is shown that effective Newton's constant resulting from this analysis agrees with that inferred by simply integrating extra dimensions out. Based on the result, a general formula for effective Newton's constant is conjectured and its application to cosmology with …
Hubble expansion in warped braneworld model is addressed in presence of more than one warped extra dimensions. It is shown that while the expansion depends on all the moduli, an exponential nature of the expansion of the scale factor emerges as a generic feature which is independent of the number of extra dimensions. Expression for the effective brane cosmological constant in such model has been derived. It is shown that similar to the 5-dimensional Randall-Sundrum model a fine tuning between the bulk cosmological constant and brane tension is required to obtain the desired cosmological consta…
In this paper, we compute the massive modes of scalar and gauge fields in a multiply warped brane-world scenario in six-dimensional spacetime with a Freedman-Robertson-Walker (FRW) metric. The massive Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes of the fields are split in two mass towers due to the presence of the warped in both dimensions. This does not occurs in the standard Randall-Sundrum (RS) model. We investigate the dependence of the mass spectrum on Hubble constant. Lighter massive modes of the fields are found, whereby it is possible to infer that scalar and bosonic matter can directly influence in univer…
An impressed feature of inflation on warped Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) brane is that the inflationary phase exits spontaneously for a scalar inflaton field with exponential potential, which presents a graceful exit mechanism for the inflation. But its reheating mechanism leaves open. We investigate the curvaton reheating in inflation on warped DGP brane model. The reheating may occur in effctively 5 dimensional or 4 dimensional stage. We study the permitted parameter space of the curvaton field in detail. We demonstrate how the inflation model of the warped DGP brane is improved by the curv…
We study the static, analytical solution of black holes in the warped DGP braneworld scenario. We show that the linearized field equations and matching conditions lead to solutions that are not compatible with Schwarzschild-(A)dS$_{(4)}$ solutions on the brane. This incompatibility is similar to vDVZ discontinuity in massive gravity theory. Following the standard procedure to remove this discontinuity, which firstly was proposed by Vainshtein, we keep some appropriate nonlinear terms in the field equations. This strategy has its origin in the fact that the spatial extrinsic curvature of the br…
We construct a warm inflation model with inflaton field non-minimally coupled to induced gravity on a warped DGP brane. We incorporate possible modification of the induced gravity on the brane in the spirit of $f(R)$-gravity. We study cosmological perturbations in this setup. In the case of two field inflation such as warm inflation, usually entropy perturbations are generated. While it is expected that in the case of one field inflation these perturbations to be removed, we show that even in the absence of the radiation field, entropy perturbations are generated in our setup due to non-minima…
We study a general dilatonic p-brane solution in arbitrary dimensions in relation to the Randall-Sundrum scenario. When the p-brane is fully localized along its transverse directions, the Kaluza-Klein zero mode of bulk graviton is not normalizable. When the p-brane is delocalized along its transverse directions except one, the Kaluza-Klein zero mode of bulk graviton is normalizable if the warp factor is chosen to increase, in which case there are singularities at finite distance away from the p-brane. Such delocalized p-brane can be regarded as a dilatonic domain wall as seen in higher dimensi…
We investigate the stability of the extra dimensions in a warped, codimension two braneworld that is based upon an Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory with a non-vanishing scalar field potential. The braneworld solution has two 3-branes, which are located at the positions of the conical singularities. For this type of brane solution the relative positions of the branes (the shape modulus) is determined via the tension-deficit relations, if the brane tensions are fixed. However, the volume of the extra dimensions (the volume modulus) is not fixed in the context of the classical theory, implying we …
We study the dynamical equations for extra-dimensional dependence of a warp factor and a bulk scalar in 5d brane world scenarios with induced brane metric of constant curvature. These equations are similar to those for the time dependence of the scale factor and a scalar field in 4d cosmology, but with the sign of the scalar field potential reversed. Based on this analogy, we introduce novel methods for studying the warped geometry. We construct the full phase portraits of the warp factor/scalar system for several examples of the bulk potential. This allows us to view the global properties of …
The role of a bulk graviton in predicting the signature of extra dimensions through collider-based experiments is explored in the context of a multiply warped spacetime. In particular it is shown that in a doubly warped braneworld model, the presence of the sixth dimension, results in enhanced concentration of graviton Kaluza Klein (KK) modes compared to that obtained in the usual 5-dimensional Randall-Sundrum model. Also, the couplings of these massive graviton KK modes with the matter fields on the visible brane turn out to be appreciably larger than that in the corresponding 5- dimensional …
We study the cosmological evolution of extended branes in 6D warped flux compactification models. The branes are endowed with the three ordinary spatial dimensions, which are assumed to be homogeneous and isotropic, as well as an internal extra dimension compactified on a circle. We embed these codimension 1 branes in a static bulk 6D spacetime, whose geometry is a solution of 6D Einstein-Maxwell or Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theories, corresponding to a warped flux compactification. The brane matter consists of a complex scalar field which is coupled to the bulk U(1) gauge field. In both models…
It is pointed out that in the warped string compactification, motion of anti-D-branes near the bottom of a throat behaves like dark matter. Several scenarios for production of the dark matter are suggested, including one based on the D/anti-D interaction at the late stage of D/anti-D inflation.
We study the regularization of the codimension-2 singularities in six-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell axisymmetric models with warping. These singularities are replaced by codimension-1 branes of a ring form, situated around the axis of symmetry. We assume that there is a brane scalar field with Goldstone dynamics, which is known to generate a brane energy momentum tensor of a particular structure necessary for the above regularization to be successful. We study these compactifications in both a non-supersymmetric and a supersymmetric setting. We see that in the non-supersymmetric case, there is …
We examine the modulus stabilization mechanism of a warped geometry model with nested warping. Such a model with multiple moduli is known to offer a possible resolution of the fermion mass hierarchy problem in the standard model. A six dimensional doubly warped braneworld model under consideration admits two distinct moduli, with the associated warp factors dynamically generating different physical mass scales on four 3-branes. In order to address the hierarchy problem related to the Higgs mass, both moduli need to be stabilized around their desired values without any extreme fine tuning of pa…
We present analytical solutions of BPS domain walls in the Einstein-Maxwell flux landscape. We also remove the smeared-branes approximation and write down solutions with localized branes. In these solutions the domain walls induce strong (if not infinite) warping.
We discuss an inflation model, in which the inflation is driven by a single scalar field with exponential potential on a warped DGP brane. In contrast to the power law inflation in standard model, we find that the inflationary phase can exit spontaneously without any mechanism. The running of the index of scalar perturbation spectrum can take an enough large value to match the observation data, while other parameters are in a reasonable region.
Five-dimensional scenarios with infinitesimally thin branes replaced by appropriate configurations of a scalar field were considered. A possibility of periodic extra dimension was discussed in the presence on non-minimal scalar-gravity coupling and a generalized Gibbons-Kallosh-Linde sum rule was found. In order to avoid constraints imposed by periodicity, a non-compact spacial extra dimension was introduced. A five dimensional model with warped geometry and two thin branes mimicked by a scalar profile was constructed and discussed. In the thin brane limit the model corresponds to a set-up wit…
An equivalence between Born-Infeld and effective real scalar field theories for brane structures is built in some specific warped space-time scenarios. Once the equations of motion for tachyon fields related to the Born-Infeld action are written as first-order equations, a simple analytical connection with a particular class of real scalar field superpotentials can be found. This equivalence leads to the conclusion that, for a certain class of superpotentials, both systems can support identical thick brane solutions as well as brane structures described through localized energy densities, $T_{…
A generalized Randall sundrum model in six dimensional bulk is studied in presence of non-flat 3-branes at the orbifold fixed points. The warp factors for this model is determined in terms of multiple moduli and brane cosmological constant. We show that the requirements of a vanishingly small cosmological constant on the visible brane along with non-hierarchical moduli, each with scale close to Planck length, lead to a scenario where the 3-branes can not have any intermediate scale and have energy scales either close to Tev or close to Planck scale. Such a scenario can address both the gauge h…
We have studied the localization of scalar field on a 3-brane embedded in a six dimensional warped bulk of the form $M_{4}\times C_{2}$, where $M_{4}$ is a 3-brane and $C_{2}$ is a 2-cycle of a six resolved conifold $\mathcal{C}_{6}$ over a $T^{1,1}$ space. Since the resolved conifold is singularity-free in $r=0$ depending on a resolution parameter $a$, we have analyzed the behavior of the localization of scalar field when we vary the resolution parameter. On one hand, this enable us to study the effects that a singularity has on the field. On the other hand we can use the resolution parameter…
In this work, we compute the corrections in the Newton's law of gravitation due to Kaluza-Klein gravitons in codimension-1 warped thick braneworld scenarios. We focus in some models recently proposed in the literature, the so-called asymmetric hybrid brane and compact brane. Such models are deformations of the $ϕ^4$ and sine-Gordon topological defects, respectively. Therefore we consider the branes engendered by such defects and we also compute the corrections in their cases. We use suitable numerical techniques to attain the mass spectrum and its corresponding eigenfunctions which are the ess…
In asymmetrically warped spacetimes different warp factors are assigned to space and to time. We discuss causality properties of these warped brane universes and argue that scenarios with two extra dimensions may allow for timelike curves which can be closed via paths in the extra-dimensional bulk. In particular, necessary and sufficient conditions on the metric for the existence of closed timelike curves are presented. We find a six-dimensional warped metric which satisfies the CTC conditions, and where the null, weak and dominant energy conditions are satisfied on the brane (although only th…
We study an effective 4-dimensional scalar-tensor field theory, originated from an underlying brane-bulk warped geometry, to explore the scenario of inflation. It is shown that the inflaton potential naturally emerges from the radion energy-momentum tensor which in turn results into an inflationary model of the Universe on the visible brane that is consistent with the recent results from the Planck's experiment. The dynamics of modulus stabilization from the inflaton rolling condition is demonstrated. The implications of our results in the context of recent BICEP2 results are also discussed.
In this paper, we mainly investigate the problems of resonances of massive KK fermions on a single scalar constructed thick brane with a piecewise warp factor matching smoothly. The distance between two boundaries and the other parameters are determined by one free parameter through three junction conditions. For the generalized Yukawa coupling $η\barΨϕ^{k}Ψ$ with odd $k=1,3,5,...$, the mass eigenvalue $m$, width $Γ$, lifetime $τ$, and maximal probability $P_{max}$ of fermion resonances are obtained. Our numerical calculations show that the brane without internal structure also favors the appe…
At first glance, it seems possible to construct in general relativity theory causality violating solutions. The most striking one is the Gott spacetime. Two cosmic strings, approaching each other with high velocity, could produce closed timelike curves. It was quickly recognized that this solution violates physical boundary conditions. The effective one particle generator becomes hyperbolic, so the center of mass is tachyonic. On a 5-dimensional warped spacetime, it seems possible to get an elliptic generator, so no obstruction is encountered and the velocity of the center of mass of the effec…
After incorporating the f(R) gravity into the general braneworld sum rules scope, it is shown that some particular class of warped five dimensional nonlinear braneworld models, which may be interesting for the hierarchy problem solution, still require a negative tension brane. For other classes of warp factors (suitable and not suitable for approaching the hierarchy problem) it is not necessary any negative brane tension in the compactification scheme. In this vein, it is argued that in the bulk f(R) gravity context, some types of warp factors may be useful for approaching the hierarchy proble…
The implications of brane motion in angular directions of Calabi-Yau flux compactifications are discussed from the point of view of an observer living on the worldvolume of the brane and from the point of view of an observer living elsewhere in the three non-compact dimensions. The brane observer can experience cosmological bounces and cyclic behavior of the scale factor induced by centrifugal angular momentum barriers. Observers living elsewhere in the compactification experience marginally prolonged periods of inflation due to large angular momentum (spinflation). The presence of spinflaton …
In this paper we present the results of our analysis of the growth and decay of black holes possibly produced at the Large Hadron Collider, based on our previous study of black holes in the context of the warped brane-world scenario. The black hole mass accretion and decay is obtained as a function of time, and the maximum black hole mass is obtained as a function of a critical mass parameter. The latter occurs in our expression for the luminosity and is related to the size of extra-dimensional corrections to Newton's law. Based on this analysis, we argue against the possibility of catastrophi…
