We continue our investigation of a variation of the group ring isomorphism problem for twisted group algebras. Contrary to previous work, we include cohomology classes which do not contain any cocycle of finite order. This allows us to study the problem in particular over any field of characteristic $0$. We prove that there are finite groups $G$ and $H$ which can not be distinguished by their rational twisted group algebras, while $G$ and $H$ can be identified by their semi-simple twisted group algebras over other fields. This is in contrast with the fact that the structural information on $G$ which can obtained from all the semi-simple group algebras of $G$ is already encoded in its rational group algebra.
We further show that for an odd prime $p$ there are groups of order $p^4$ which can not be distinguished by their twisted group algebras over $F$ for any field $F$ of characteristic different from $p$. On the other hand we prove that the groups constructed by E. Dade, which have isomorphic group algebras over any field, can be distinguished by their rational twisted group algebras. We also answer a question about sufficient conditions for the twisted group ring isomorphism problem to hold over the complex numbers.
Similarly to how the classical group ring isomorphism problem asks, for a commutative ring $R$, which information about a finite group $G$ is encoded in the group ring $RG$, the twisted group ring isomorphism problem asks which information about $G$ is encoded in all the twisted group rings of $G$ over $R$. We investigate this problem over fields. We start with abelian groups and show how the results depend on the roots of unity in $R$. In order to deal with non-abelian groups we construct a generalization of a Schur cover which exists also when $R$ is not an algebraically closed field, but st…
Let $G$ be a finite simple group and $k$ be an algebraically closed field of prime characteristic dividing the order of $G$. We show that for all $2$-cocycles $α\in Z^2(G;k^\times)$, the first Hochschild cohomology group of the twisted group algebra $HH^1(k_αG)$ is nonzero.
For a tensor product of algebras twisted by a bicharacter, we completely describe its Hochschild cohomology, as a Gerstenhaber algebra, in terms of the Hochschild cohomology of its component parts. This description generalizes a result of Bergh and Oppermann. It allows us to significantly simplify various calculations in the literature, and to compute Hochschild cohomology for a number of new examples.
We prove several results concerning quasi-bialgebra morphisms $\mathcal{D}^ω(G)\to\mathcal{D}^η(H)$ of twisted group doubles. We take a particular focus on the isomorphisms which are simultaneously isomorphisms $\mathcal{D}(G)\to\mathcal{D}(H)$. All such isomorphisms are shown to be morphisms of quasi-Hopf algebras, and a classification of all such isomorphisms is determined. Whenever $ω\in Z^3(G/Z(G),U(1))$ this suffices to completely describe $\operatorname{Aut}(\mathcal{D}^ω(G))$, the group of quasi-Hopf algebra isomorphisms of $\mathcal{D}^ω(G)$, and so generalizes existing descriptions fo…
We construct the Gerstenhaber bracket on Hochschild cohomology of a twisted tensor product of algebras, and, as examples, compute Gerstenhaber brackets for some quantum complete intersections arising in work of Buchweitz, Green, Madsen, and Solberg. We prove that a subalgebra of the Hochschild cohomology ring of a twisted tensor product, on which the twisting is trivial, is isomorphic, as Gerstenhaber algebras, to the tensor product of the respective subalgebras of the Hochschild cohomology rings of the factors.
Over a field of prime characteristic $p>2$, we prove that the cohomology rings of some pointed Hopf algebras of dimension $p^3$ are finitely generated. These are Hopf algebras arising in the ongoing classification of finite dimensional Hopf algebras in positive characteristic, and include bosonizations of Nichols algebras of Jordan type in a general setting as well as their liftings when $p=3$. Our techniques are applications of twisted tensor product resolutions and Anick resolutions in combination with May spectral sequences.
The mod-p cohomology ring of a non-trivial finite p-group is an infinite dimensional, finitely presented graded unital algebra over the field with p elements, with generators in positive degrees. We describe an effective algorithm to test if two such algebras are graded isomorphic. As application, we determine all graded isomorphisms between the mod-p cohomology rings of all p-groups of order at most 100.
The aim of this paper is twofold. In the first part, we consider twisted Rota-Baxter operators on associative algebras that were introduced by Uchino as a noncommutative analogue of twisted Poisson structures. We construct an $L_\infty$-algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements are given by twisted Rota-Baxter operators. This leads to cohomology associated to a twisted Rota-Baxter operator. This cohomology can be seen as the Hochschild cohomology of a certain associative algebra with coefficients in a suitable bimodule. We study deformations of twisted Rota-Baxter operators by means of the above-de…
The closest infinite dimensional relatives of compact Lie algebras are Hilbert-Lie algebras, i.e. real Hilbert spaces with a Lie algebra structure for which the scalar product is invariant. Locally affine Lie algebras (LALAs) correspond to double extensions of (twisted) loop algebras over simple Hilbert-Lie algebras $\mathfrak{k}$, also called affinisations of $\mathfrak{k}$. They possess a root space decomposition whose corresponding root system is a locally affine root system of one of the $7$ families $A_J^{(1)}$, $B_J^{(1)}$, $C_J^{(1)}$, $D_J^{(1)}$, $B_J^{(2)}$, $C_J^{(2)}$ and $BC_J^{(2…
A version of the twisted Poincaré duality is proved between the Poisson homology and cohomology of a polynomial Poisson algebra with values in an arbitrary Poisson module. The duality is achieved by twisting the Poisson module structure in a canonical way, which is constructed from the modular derivation. In the case that the Poisson structure is unimodular, the twisted Poincaré duality reduces to the Poincaré duality in the usual sense. The main result generalizes the work of Launois-Richard \cite{LR} for the quadratic Poisson structures and Zhu \cite{Zhu} for the linear Poisson structures.
Hom-dendriform algebras are twisted analog of dendriform algebras and are splitting of hom-associative algebras. In this paper, we define a cohomology and deformation for hom-dendriform algebras. We relate this cohomology with the Hochschild-type cohomology of hom-associative algebras. We also describe similar results for the twisted analog of dendriform coalgebras.
In this paper, we introduce twisted Rota-Baxter operators on Lie algebras as an operator analogue of twisted r-matrices. We construct a suitable $L_\infty$-algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements are given by twisted Rota-Baxter operators. This allows us to define cohomology of a twisted Rota-Baxter operator. This cohomology can be seen as the Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology of a certain Lie algebra with coefficients in a suitable representation. We study deformations of twisted Rota-Baxter operators from cohomological points of view. Some applications are given to Reynolds operators and twisted r…
In this paper, we introduce twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators on a Leibniz algebra as a generalization of twisted Poisson structures. We define the cohomology of a twisted relative Rota-Baxter operator $K$ as the Loday-Pirashvili cohomology of a certain Leibniz algebra induced by $K$ with coefficients in a suitable representation. Then we consider formal deformations of twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators from cohomological points of view. Finally, we introduce and study NS-Leibniz algebras as the underlying structure of twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators.
