Symmetric and Pseudo-Symmetric Numerical Semigroups via Young Diagrams and Their Semigroup Rings

This paper studies Young diagrams of symmetric and pseudo-symmetric numerical semigroups and describes new operations on Young diagrams as well as numerical semigroups. These provide new decompositions of symmetric and pseudo-symmetric semigroups into an over semigroup and its dual. It is also given exactly for what kind of numerical semigroup $S$, the semigroup ring $\Bbbk[\![S]\!]$ has at least one Gorenstein subring and has at least one Kunz subring.

Numerical semigroups II: pseudo-symmetric AA-Semigroups

This paper is a continuation of the paper "Numerical Semigroups: Apéry Sets and Hilbert Series". In this paper we study numerical semigroups generated by three elements. We give a characterization of pseudo-symmetric numerical semigroups. Also, we will give a simple algorithm to get all the pseudo-symmetric numerical semigroups with give Frobenius number.

On minimal ideals in pseudo-finite semigroups

A semigroup $S$ is said to be right pseudo-finite if the universal right congruence can be generated by a finite set $U\subseteq S\times S$, and there is a bound on the length of derivations for an arbitrary pair $(s,t)\in S\times S$ as a consequence of those in $U$. Symmetries on almost symmetric numerical semigroups

The notion of almost symmetric numerical semigroup was given by V. Barucci and R. Fröberg. We characterize almost symmetric numerical semigroups by symmetry of pseudo-Frobenius numbers. We give a criterion for $H^*$ (the dual of $M$) to be almost symmetric numerical semigroup. Using these results we give a formula for multiplicity of an opened modular numerical semigroups. Finally, we show that if $H_1$ or $H_2$ is not symmetric, then the gluing of $H_1$ and $H_2$ is not almost symmetric.

Frobenius restricted varieties in numerical semigroups

The common behaviour of many families of numerical semigroups led up to defining, firstly, the Frobenius varieties and, secondly, the (Frobenius) pseudo-varieties. However, some interesting families are still out of these definitions. To overcome this situation, here we introduce the concept of restricted Frobenius variety (or R-variety). We will generalize most of the results for varieties and pseudo-varieties to R-varieties. In particular, we will study the tree structure that arise within them.

Numerical semigroups in a problem about economic incentives for consumers

Motivated by a promotion to increase the number of musical downloads, we introduce the concept of $C$-incentive and show an algorithm that compute the smallest $C$-incentive containing a subset $X \subseteq {\mathbb N}$. On the other hand, in order to study $C$-incentives, we see that we can focus on numerical $C$-incentives. Then, we establish that the set formed by all numerical $C$-incentives is a Frobenius pseudo-variety and we show an algorithmic process to recurrently build such a pseudo-variety.

One half of almost symmetric numerical semigroups

Let $S,T$ be two numerical semigroups. We study when $S$ is one half of $T$, with $T$ almost symmetric. If we assume that the type of $T$, $t(T)$, is odd, then for any $S$ there exist infinitely many such $T$ and we prove that $1 \leq t(T) \leq 2t(S)+1$. On the other hand, if $t(T)$ is even, there exists such $T$ if and only if $S$ is almost symmetric and different from $\mathbb{N}$; in this case the type of $S$ is the number of even pseudo-Frobenius numbers of $T$. Moreover, we construct these families of semigroups using the numerical duplication with respect to a relative ideal.
