The production cross section of prompt $\mathrm{Λ_{c}^{+}}$ charm baryons was measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC at midrapidity in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = 5.02$ TeV. The $\mathrm{Λ_{c}^{+}}$ and $\rm {\overlineΛ{}_c^-}$ baryons were reconstructed in the hadronic decay channels $\rm Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow p K^{-}π^{+}$ and $\rm Λ_{c}^{+}\to p K^{0}_{S}$ and respective charge conjugates. The measured differential cross sections as a function of transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) and the $p_{\rm T}$-integrated $\mathrm{Λ_{c}^{+}}$ production cross section in pp and in p-Pb collisions are presented. The $\mathrm{Λ_{c}^{+}}$ nuclear modification factor ($R_\mathrm{pPb}$), calculated from the cross sections in pp and in p-Pb collisions, is presented and compared with the $R_\mathrm{pPb}$ of D mesons. The $\mathrm {Λ_{c}^{+}}/\mathrm {D^0}$ ratio is also presented and compared with the light-flavour baryon-to-meson ratios p$/π$ and $Λ/\mathrm {K^0_S}$, and measurements from other LHC experiments. The results are compared to predictions from model calculations and Monte Carlo event generators.
The first measurements of the invariant differential cross sections of inclusive $π^0$ and $η$ meson production at mid-rapidity in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=0.9$ TeV and $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV are reported. The $π^0$ measurement covers the ranges $0.4<p_T<7$ GeV/$c$ and $0.3<p_T<25$ GeV/$c$ for these two energies, respectively. The production of $η$ mesons was measured at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV in the range $0.4<p_T<15$ GeV/$c$. Next-to-Leading Order perturbative QCD calculations, which are consistent with the $π^0$ spectrum at $\sqrt{s}=0.9$ TeV, overestimate those of $π^0$ and $η$ mesons at …
The self-normalised $ψ(2S)$ yields as a function of charged-particle multiplicity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV and p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$= 8.16 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC, are reported in these proceedings. This measurement represents one of the main tools to understand the role of multiparton interactions and their influence on charmonium production in small systems, i.e pp and pA collisions. The ratio of $ψ(2S)$-over-J/$ψ$ as a function of charged-particle multiplicity is also presented for both pp and p--Pb collisions. The comparison to th…
The production of muons from heavy flavour decays is measured at forward rapidity (2.5 < y < 4) with the muon spectrometer of the ALICE experiment at the LHC. In pp collisions at \sqrt{s} = 7 TeV, the measurement of the transverse momentum and rapidity differential production cross section of muons from heavy flavour decays is carried out from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of Lint = 16.5 nb^-1 and results are compared to predictions based on perturbative QCD calculations. In Pb-Pb collisions at \sqrt{s_{NN}}= 2.76 TeV, the analysis of a data sample corresponding to an…
The azimuthal correlations of D mesons and charged particles were measured with the ALICE detector in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. D$^0$, D$^+$, and D$^{*+}$ mesons and their charge conjugates with transverse momentum $3<p_{\rm T}<16$ GeV/$c$ and rapidity in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass system $|y_{\rm cms}|<0.5$ (pp collisions) and $-0.96<y_{\rm cms}<0.04$ (p-Pb collisions) were correlated to charged particles with $p_{\rm T}>0.3$ Gev/$c$. The properties of the correlation peak induced by the jet cont…
The two-particle differential transverse momentum correlator $G_{2}$ recently measured in Pb$-$Pb collisions, emerged as a powerful tool to gain insight into particle production mechanisms and to infer transport properties such as the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density of the medium created in Pb$-$Pb collisions. In this poster, recent ALICE measurements of this correlator in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ and p$-$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV are presented to search, in particular, for viscous effects expected to arise in fluid-like systems produced in these collisions…
We present the elliptic flow $v_{2}$ of electrons from the semi-leptonic decays of heavy-flavour hadrons at mid-rapidity for semi-central ($20-40%$ centrality) Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV measured with the ALICE detector. A positive $v_{2}$ is observed at low $p_\mathrm{T}$ in semi-central collisions. Comparisons with previous measurements obtained at lower collision energy at RHIC in Au-Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 0.2 TeV and with theoretical models are also presented.
The production of beauty hadrons was measured via semi-leptonic decays at mid-rapidity with the ALICE detector at the LHC in the transverse momentum interval $1<p_{\rm T}<8$ GeV/$c$ in minimum-bias p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV and in $1.3<p_{\rm T}<8$ GeV/$c$ in the 20% most central Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=2.76$ TeV. The pp reference spectra at $\sqrt{s}=5.02$ TeV and $\sqrt{s}=2.76$ TeV, needed for the calculation of the nuclear modification factors $R_{\rm pPb}$ and $R_{\rm PbPb}$, were obtained by a pQCD-driven scaling of the cross section of electrons from…
We provide a reference in proton-proton collisions at the energy of the Pb-Pb 2010 run at the LHC, sqrt(s) = 2.76 TeV, for the pt-differential production cross section of D0, D+, and D*+ mesons in |y| < 0.5, of electrons from heavy flavour decays in |y| < 0.9, and of muons from heavy flavour decays in 2.5 < y < 4. The reference is obtained by applying a pQCD-driven scaling (based on the FONLL calculation) to ALICE preliminary data at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. In order to validate the procedure, we scale the D meson cross section to sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV and compare to the corresponding measurements from t…
ATLAS measurements of two-particle correlations are presented for $\sqrt{s} = 5.02$ and $13$ TeV $pp$ collisions and for $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV $p$+Pb collisions at the LHC. The correlation functions are measured as a function of relative azimuthal angle $Δϕ$, and pseudorapidity separation $Δη$, using charged particles detected within the pseudorapidity interval $|η|{<}2.5$. Azimuthal modulation in the long-range component of the correlation function, with $|Δη|{>}2$, is studied using a template fitting procedure to remove a "back-to-back" contribution to the correlation function …
An improved value for the lifetime of the (anti-)hypertriton has been obtained using the data sample of Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = $ 5.02 TeV collected by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The (anti-)hypertriton has been reconstructed via its charged two-body mesonic decay channel and the lifetime has been determined from an exponential fit to the d$N$/d($ct$) spectrum. The measured value, $τ$ = 242$^{+34}_{-38}$ (stat.) $\pm$ 17 (syst.) ps, is compatible with all the available theoretical predictions, thus contributing to the solution of the longstanding hypertriton lifetime…
The higher order harmonic flow observables $v_n$ ($n > 3$) and their non-linear responses to the initial state anisotropy have the strong potential to constrain shear and bulk viscosity to entropy ratios because of different sensitivities for various stages of heavy-ion collisions. The measurements of the flow coefficients and the non-linear coefficients up to the ninth and fifth harmonic, respectively, are presented in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=5.02\,\mathrm{TeV}$ for charged hadrons. In addition, the results of $p_\mathrm{T}$-differential non-linear flow modes for $π^\pm$, $\…
The transverse momentum pT spectra of charged particles is measured by CMS as a function of collision centrality in PbPb collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 2.76 TeV. The results are compared to a pp reference spectrum, constructed by interpolation between sqrt(s) = 0.9 and 7 TeV measurements. The nuclear modification factor RAA is constructed by dividing the PbPb pT spectrum, normalized to the number of binary collisions (Ncoll), by the pp spectrum. Measured RAA in 0-5% centrality bin is compared to several theoretical predictions.
In this work we report on the production of charged pions, kaons, and (anti) protons in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN}= 2.76 TeV for 3 < pT < 20 GeV/c. The evolution of the nuclear modification factor, RAA, with collision centrality and transverse momentum is discussed.
Local density fluctuations are expected to scale as a universal power-law when the system approaches critical point. Such power-law fluctuations are studied within the framework of intermittency through the measurement of normalized factorial moments in ($η$, $ϕ$) phase space. Observations and results from the intermittency analysis performed for charged particles in Pb-Pb collisions using PYTHIA8/Angantyr at 2.76 TeV and 5.02 TeV are reported. We observe no scaling behaviour in the particle generation for any of the centrality studied in narrow p$_T$ bins. The scaling exponent $ν$ shows no de…
The transverse structure of jets was studied via jet fragmentation transverse momentum ($j_{\rm{T}}$) distributions, obtained using two-particle correlations in proton-proton and proton-lead collisions, measured with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The highest transverse momentum particle in each event is used as the trigger particle and the region $3 < p_{\rm{Tt}} < 15$ GeV/$c$ is explored in this study. The measured distributions show a clear narrow Gaussian component and a wide non-Gaussian one. Based on Pythia simulations, the narrow component can be related to non-perturbative hadronizat…
We present measurements of charged jet cross sections and jet shape observables in leading jet in proton-proton (pp) collisions at sqrt(s) = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector at LHC. Jets are reconstructed at the midrapidity from charged particle using sequential recombination anti-kT jet finding algorithm for various R values. The results are compared to measurements from HERWIG, PHOJET and different tunes of PYTHIA6 and earlier measurements at 7 TeV.
The production of the $Λ$(1520) baryonic resonance has been measured at midrapidity in inelastic pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV for non-single diffractive events and in multiplicity classes. The resonance is reconstructed through its hadronic decay channel $Λ$(1520) $\rightarrow$ pK$^{-}$ and the charge conjugate with the ALICE detector. The integrated yields and mean transverse momenta are calculated from the measured transverse momentum distributions in pp and p-Pb collisions. The mean transverse momenta follow mass ordering as p…
Transverse momentum ($p_{\mathrm{T}}$) distributions of identified hadrons produced in p-Pb collisions at $\mathrm{\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5.02\ TeV}$ have been measured at mid-rapidity (0 $< y_{\mathrm{CMS}} <$ 0.5) by ALICE. Particle tracks are reconstructed using the central barrel detectors. Particle identification is performed via specific energy loss, time-of-flight or their characteristic decay topology over a wide transverse momentum range (0 GeV/c up to 8 GeV/c). Spectral shapes and particle ratios are measured in six multiplicity classes. They are compared with several model calculations and…
Relativistic heavy-ion collisions provide a unique opportunity to search for parity violation in non-central collisions. This could lead to charge separation perpendicular to the reaction plane. An event-by-event measurement of charge separation effect in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV using Sliding Dumbbell Method (SDM) is discussed in this article.
In this work we are studying the relative beauty to charm production in pp collisions at \sqrt{s} = 2.76 TeV, through correlations between electrons from heavy-flavour decay and charged hadrons, with the ALICE detector at the LHC. This study represents a baseline for the analysis in heavy-ion collisions where heavy flavour production is a powerful tool to study the Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP).
Transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) spectra of charged particles at mid-pseudorapidity in Xe-Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV measured with the ALICE apparatus at the Large Hadron Collider are reported. The kinematic range $0.15 < p_{\rm T} < 50$ GeV/$c$ and $|η| < 0.8$ is covered. Results are presented in nine classes of collision centrality in the 0-80% range. For comparison, a pp reference at the collision energy of $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.44 TeV is obtained by interpolating between existing \pp measurements at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 and 7 TeV. The nuclear modification factors in central Xe-…
The ALICE Collaboration has studied the inclusive J/$ψ$ and $ψ(\mathrm{2S})$ production in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV, at the CERN LHC. The J/$ψ$ measurement is performed in the $μ^{+}μ^{-}$ and in the $e^{+}e^{-}$ decay channels, down to zero $p_{\mathrm{T}}$. The results are in fair agreement with theoretical predictions. The $ψ(\mathrm{2S})$ measurement has also been performed. In particular, a smaller $ψ(\mathrm{2S})$ nuclear modification factor, with respect to the J$/ψ$ one, has been observed.
The $p_{\rm T}$-differential production cross sections of the prompt (B feed-down subtracted) charmed mesons D$^0$, D$^+$, and D$^{*+}$ in the rapidity range $|y|<0.5$, and for transverse momentum $1< p_{\rm T} <12$ GeV/$c$, were measured in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 2.76$ TeV with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The analysis exploited the hadronic decays D$^0 \rightarrow $K$π$, D$^+ \rightarrow $K$ππ$, D$^{*+} \rightarrow $D$^0π$, and their charge conjugates, and was performed on a $L_{\rm int} = 1.1$ nb$^{-1}$ event sample collected in 2011 with a minimum-bias …
Results on the production of $^{4}{\textrm{He}}$ and $^{4}\overline{\textrm{He}}$ nuclei in Pb-Pb collisions at $ \sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 2.76 $ TeV in the rapidity range $ \mid y \mid < 1$, using the ALICE detector, are presented in this paper. The rapidity densities corresponding to 0-10% central events are found to be $\mathrm{d}N/\mathrm{d}y _{^{4}\mathrm{He}} = (0.8 \pm 0.4 ~(\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.3~(\mathrm{syst}))\times 10^{-6}$ and $\mathrm{d}N/\mathrm{d}y _{^{4}\mathrm{\overline{He}}} = (1.1 \pm 0.4~(\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.2~(\mathrm{syst}))\times 10^{-6}$, respectively. This is in agre…
Measurement of Z-boson production in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=8.16$ TeV and Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02$ TeV is reported. It is performed in the dimuon decay channel, through the detection of muons with pseudorapidity $-4 < η_μ < -2.5$ and transverse momentum $p_{\rm T}^μ > 20$ GeV/$c$ in the laboratory frame. The invariant yield and nuclear modification factor are measured for opposite-sign dimuons with invariant mass $60 < m^{μμ} < 120$ GeV$c^2$ and rapidity $2.5 < y_{cms}^{μμ} < 4$. They are presented as a function of rapidity and, for the Pb-Pb collis…
The ALICE Collaboration reports a search for jet quenching effects in pp collisions at $\sqrt{\mathrm{s}}$=13 TeV, in events selected on high multiplicity compared to the minimum bias population. The measurement is based on the semi-inclusive acoplanarity distribution of jets recoiling from a high-$p_\mathrm{T}$ trigger hadron. Significant broadening of the recoil jet acoplanarity distribution is observed in high multiplicity pp collisions, in both data and in simulations based on the PYTHIA model. Analysis is ongoing to elucidate the origin of this effect.
The relative J/$ψ$ yields as a function of relative charged-particle multiplicity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 TeV, measured at forward rapidity, are investigated for the first time. A linear increase of the relative J/$ψ$ yield with respect to multiplicity is observed. A comparison of the findings of the present work with the available ALICE measurements obtained in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV at forward and mid-rapidity indicates that the increase of J/$ψ$ with multiplicity is independent of energy but exhibits a strong dependence on the rapidity gap between the J/$ψ$ and m…
We present multiplicity and pseudorapidity distributions of inclusive photons at forward rapidity in proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at $\sqrt{s\rm_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV using the data obtained from Photon Multiplicity Detector (PMD) of ALICE. The centrality dependence of pseudorapidity distributions of inclusive photons is also studied. Results are compared with the previous ALICE measurements of charged-particle production and with theoretical predictions from Monte Carlo models, DPMJET and HIJING.
We present femtoscopic results for proton and Lambda correlation functions measured by ALICE in sqrt(sNN) = 2.76 TeV Pb-Pb collisions. Femtoscopic radii are extracted from pp, pbarpbar, and ppbar pairs. Comparisons of these radii with those from pion and kaon analyses reveal an approximate transverse mass scaling that is consistent with explanations of radial flow. Inelastic final state interactions are explored in baryon-antibaryon correlations functions to investigate their relationship with reduced proton yields at LHC energies.
We present the measurement of the D+s production in pp collisions at sqrt{s} = 7 TeV and in Pb Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN} =2.76 TeV performed with the ALICE detector at central rapidity through the reconstruction of the hadronic decay channel D+s-> K+K-pi+. The preliminary results of the D+s nuclear modification factor will be presented.
The study of charm production in heavy-ion collisions is considered an excellent probe for the properties of the hot and dense medium created in heavy-ion collisions. Measurements of D-meson nuclear modification can provide strong constraints into the mechanisms of in-medium energy loss and charm flow in the medium. The measurement of $D^0$ elliptic flow in pPb collisions helps us understand the strength of charm quarks coupling to significantly reduced systems which demonstrate hydrodynamic properties. In this paper, the measurements of the $D^0$ nuclear modification factor in PbPb collisions…
We present the measurements of D0, D+, D*+ meson v_2 as well as D0 R_{AA} in different directions with respect to the estimated reaction plane in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt(s_{NN)) = 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC.
Measurements of the cross sections of the reference processes seen by the ALICE trigger system were obtained based on beam properties measured from van der Meer scans. The measurements are essential for absolute cross section determinations of physics processes. The paper focuses on instrumental and technical aspects of detectors and accelerators, including a description of the extraction of beam properties from the van der Meer scan. As a result, cross sections of reference processes seen by the ALICE trigger system are given for proton-proton collisions at two energies; $\sqrt{s}$=2.76 TeV a…
Reconstruction of jets in high-energy heavy-ion collisions is challenging due to the large and fluctuating background coming from the underlying event. We report results on full jet reconstruction, obtained from data collected in 2011 by the ALICE detector at LHC for Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=2.76~\mathrm{TeV}$. The analysis makes use of the tracking system and the electromagnetic calorimeter. Signal jets, which come from hard scattered partons, are reconstructed using the anti-$k_{\mathrm{T}}$ jet finder algorithm. The average background is subtracted on a jet-by-jet basis t…
We present ALICE results on strange and multi-strange hadron production as a function of centrality in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV at the LHC. Their transverse momentum spectra, yields and particle ratios are compared to the corresponding measurements in pp collisions to address strangeness enhancement and high $p_{\rm T}$ particle suppression. The results are also compared to measurements at RHIC and SPS energies.
We present the ALICE results on the nuclear modification factor and elliptic flow of electrons and muons from open heavy-flavour hadron decays at mid-rapidity and forward rapidity in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 2.76 and 5.02 TeV for different centrality intervals. The results are compared to model calculations that include interactions of heavy quarks with the medium.
The measurements of charged-particle multiplicity and transverse energy at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 2.76 TeV are reported as a function of centrality. The fraction of the inelastic cross section recorded by the ALICE detector is estimated using a Glauber model. The results scaled by the number of participating nucleons are compared with pp collisions at the same collision energy, to similar results obtained at significantly lower energies, and with models based on different mechanisms for particle production in nuclear collisions.
We present a calculation of the elliptic flow of electrons from beauty-hadron decays in semi-central Pb--Pb collisions at centre-of-mass energy per colliding nucleon pair, represented as $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$, of 2.76 TeV. The result is obtained by the subtraction of the charm quark contribution in the elliptic flow of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in semi-central Pb--Pb collisions at \snn = 2.76 TeV recently made publicly available by the ALICE collaboration.
The production of the prompt charm mesons $D^0$, $D^+$, $D^{*+}$, and their antiparticles, was measured with the ALICE detector in Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC, at a centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV per nucleon--nucleon collision. The $p_{\rm T}$-differential production yields in the range $2<p_{\rm T}<16$ GeV/c at central rapidity, $|y|<0.5$, were used to calculate the nuclear modification factor $R_{AA}$ with respect to a proton-proton reference obtained from the cross section measured at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV and scaled to $\sqrt{s}=2.76$ TeV. For the three meson species, $R_{AA}$ s…
Charged particle directed flow at midrapidity, |eta|<0.8, and forward rapidity, 1.7 < |eta|<5.1, is measured in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN} = 2.76 TeV with ALICE at the LHC. Directed flow is reported as a function of collision centrality, charged particle transverse momentum, and pseudo-rapidity. Results are compared to measurements at RHIC and recent model calculations for LHC energies.
Anisotropic flow measurements constrain the shear $(η/s)$ and bulk ($ζ/s$) viscosity of the quark-gluon plasma created in heavy-ion collisions, as well as give insight into the initial state of such collisions and hadronization mechanisms. In these proceedings, elliptic ($v_2$) and higher harmonic ($v_3, v_4$) flow coefficients of $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, p$(\overline{\rm{p}})$ and the $ϕ$-meson,measured in Pb--Pb collisions at the highest-ever center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV, are presented.
We predict the elliptic flow parameter v_2 in U+U collisions at sqrt{s_{NN}}=200 GeV and in Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76 TeV using a hybrid model in which the evolution of the quark gluon plasma is described by ideal hydrodynamics with a state-of-the-art lattice QCD equation of state, and the subsequent hadronic stage by a hadron cascade model.
Full jet reconstruction in heavy-ion collisions is a promising tool for quantitative study of properties of the dense medium produced at RHIC. Measurements of d+Au collisions are important to disentangle initial state nuclear effects from medium-induced $k_\mathrm{T}$ broadening and jet quenching. We report measurements of mid-rapidity ($|η_{jet}| < 0.4|$) di-jet correlations in d+Au using high-statistics run 8 RHIC data at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = 200 \mathrm{GeV}$.
We present new results for the nuclear modification factor \RAA of \jpsi mesons as a function of centrality and transverse momentum at mid-rapidity. The measurement is carried out with the ALICE central barrel detectors in the acceptance range $|y|$ < 0.9 and \pt > 0 in the dielectron decay channel.
Anisotropic flow is an important observable in the study of the Quark-Gluon Plasma that is expected to be formed in heavy-ion collisions. With a multiphase transport (AMPT) model we investigate the elliptic($\emph{v}_{2}$), triangular($\emph{v}_{3}$), and quadrangular($\emph{v}_{4}$) flow of charged particles in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV. Then We compare our flow results with the published ALICE flow results. We found our AMPT simulated results are consistent with ALICE experimental data.
The first measurement of two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations in central Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 2.76$ TeV at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. We observe a growing trend with energy now not only for the longitudinal and the outward but also for the sideward pion source radius. The pion homogeneity volume and the decoupling time are significantly larger than those measured at RHIC.
We analyse the recently available experimental data on direct photon productions from Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=200 GeV RHIC and from Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV LHC energies. The transverse momentum ($p_T$) distributions have been evaluated with the assumption of an initial quark gluon plasma phase at temperatures $T_i$=404 and 546 MeV with initial thermalisation times $τ_i$=0.2 and 0.1 fm/c respectively for RHIC and LHC energies. The theoretical evalutions agree reasonably well with the experimental observations. The thermal window for the LHC energy is justified t…
Although transverse-mass scaling of femtoscopic radii is found to hold to a good approximation in heavy-ion collision experiments, it is seen to fail for high-energy proton-proton collisions. It is shown that if invariant radius parameters are plotted versus the transverse velocity instead, scaling with the transverse velocity is seen in $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV proton-proton experiments. A simple semi-classical model is shown to qualitatively reproduce this transverse velocity scaling.
We present predictions of the mean multiplicity yields for different centrality classes of Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 5.02$ TeV at the LHC, obtained using the Monte-Carlo Modified Glauber model (MGM) [1]. Contrary to generally used standard Glauber calculations, the MGM takes into account the energy conservation in the soft particles production. The only one efficient model parameter was tuned and fixed previously (k=0.35) by fitting the available data on multiplicity for all colliding systems up to RHIC energies. The MGM has shown already a good predictive capability for the yields at $\…
Predictions have been compiled for the $p+$Pb LHC runs, focusing on production of hard probes in cold nuclear matter. These predictions were first made for the $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV $p+$Pb run and were later compared to the available data. A similar set of predictions were published for the 8.16~TeV $p+$Pb run. A selection of the predictions are reviewed here.
Using the coalescence model based on the phase-space distribution of nucleons from an extended blast-wave model that includes the space-momentum correlation of high momentum nucleons, we study the transverse momentum spectra and elliptic flows of deuteron and helium-3 in Pb+Pb collisions at the energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV. We find that the measured elliptic flows of deuteron can be satisfactorily described if nucleons of large transverse momenta are more spread in space when their momenta are more aligned along the reaction plane.
The transverse momentum spectra for direct photons produced in Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC, including thermal (hydrodynamics) and prompt (pQCD) emissions are presented.
The single inclusive charged hadron pT spectra in Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC, predicted by a combined hydrodynamics+perturbative QCD (pQCD) approach are presented.
In hydrodynamical modeling of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions, the freeze-out is typically assumed to take place at a surface of constant temperature or energy density. A more physical approach is to assume that freeze-out takes place at a surface of constant Knudsen number. We evaluate the Knudsen number as a ratio of the expansion rate of the system to the pion scattering rate, and apply the constant Knudsen number freeze-out criterion to ideal hydrodynamical description of heavy-ion collisions at RHIC ($\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=200$ GeV) and the LHC ($\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=2760$ GeV) ener…
