We define a type B analogue of the category of finite sets with surjections, and we study the representation theory of this category. We show that the opposite category is quasi-Grobner, which implies that submodules of finitely generated modules are again finitely generated. We prove that the generating functions of finitely generated modules have certain prescribed poles, and we obtain restrictions on the representations of type B Coxeter groups that can appear in such modules. Our main example is a module that categorifies the degree i Kazhdan-Lusztig coefficients of type B Coxeter arrangements.
We introduce a method for associating a chain complex to a module over a combinatorial category, such that if the complex is exact then the module has a rational Hilbert series. We prove homology--vanishing theorems for these complexes for several combinatorial categories including: the category of finite sets and injections, the opposite of the category of finite sets and surjections, and the category of finite dimensional vector spaces over a finite field and injections. Our main applications are to modules over the opposite of the category of finite sets and surjections, known as $FS^{op}$ …
The Baues--Wirsching cohomology is one of the cohomologies of a small category. Our aim is to describe the first Baues--Wirsching cohomology of the small category generated by a finite quiver freely. We consider the case where the coefficient is a natural system obtained by the composition of a functor and the target functor. We give an algorithm to obtain generators of the vector space of inner derivations. It is known that there exists a surjection from the vector space of derivations of the small category to the first Baues--Wirsching cohomology whose kernel is the vector space of inner der…
We investigate various ways to define an analogue of BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ for the non-semi-simple Takiff extension of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. We describe Gabriel quivers for blocks of these analogues of category $\mathcal{O}$ and prove extension fullness of one of them in the category of all modules.
We prove that the 2-category of skeletally small abelian categories with exact monoidal structures is anti-equivalent to the 2-category of fp-hom-closed definable additive categories satisfying an exactness criterion. For a fixed finitely accessible category $\mathcal{C}$ with products and a monoidal structure satisfying the appropriate assumptions, we provide bijections between the fp-hom-closed definable subcategories of $\mathcal{C}$, the Serre tensor-ideals of $\mathcal{C}^{\mathrm{fp}}\hbox{-}\mathrm{mod}$ and the closed subsets of a Ziegler-type topology. For a skeletally small preadditi…
We study representations of wreath product analogues of categories of finite sets. This includes the category of finite sets and injections (studied by Church, Ellenberg, and Farb) and the opposite of the category of finite sets and surjections (studied by the authors in previous work). We prove noetherian properties for the injective version when the group in question is polycyclic-by-finite and use it to deduce general twisted homological stability results for such wreath products and indicate some applications to representation stability. We introduce a new class of formal languages (quasi-…
We study the category of graded representations with finite--dimensional graded pieces for the current algebra associated to a simple Lie algebra. This category has many similarities with the category $\cal O$ of modules for $\lie g$ and in this paper, we use the combinatorics of Macdonald polynomials to prove an analogue of the famous BGG duality in the case of $\lie{sl}_{n+1}$.
Hom- and Riedtmann configurations were studied in the context of stable module categories of selfinjective algebras and a certain orbit category C of the bounded derived category of a Dynkin quiver, which is highly reminiscent of the cluster category. The category C is (-1)-Calabi-Yau. Holm and Jorgensen introduced a family of triangulated categories generated by $w$-spherical objects. When $w \geq 2$, these may be regarded as higher cluster categories of type A infinity. When $w \leq -1$, they are higher analogues of the orbit category C. In this paper, we classify the (higher) Hom- and Riedt…
We construct a faithful categorical representation of an infinite Temperley-Lieb algebra on the periplectic analogue of Deligne's category. We use the corresponding combinatorics to classify thick tensor ideals in this periplectic Deligne category. This allows to determine the objects in the kernel of the monoidal functor going to the module category of the periplectic Lie supergroup. We use this to classify indecomposable direct summands in the tensor powers of the natural representation, determine which are projective and determine their simple top.
A duality theorem for the singularity category of a finite dimensional Gorenstein algebra is proved. It complements a duality on the category of perfect complexes, discovered by Happel. One of its consequences is an analogue of Serre duality, and the existence of Auslander-Reiten triangles for the $\mathfrak{p}$-local and $\mathfrak{p}$-torsion subcategories of the derived category, for each homogeneous prime ideal $\mathfrak{p}$ arising from the action of a commutative ring via Hochschild cohomology.
We consider the odd analogue of the category of Soergel bimodules. In the odd case and already for two variables, the transposition bimodule cannot be merged into the generating Soergel bimodule, forcing one into a monoidal category with a larger Grothendieck ring compared to the even case. We establish biadjointness of suitable functors and develop graphical calculi in the 2-variable case for the odd Soergel category and the related singular Soergel 2-category. We describe the odd analogue of the Rouquier complexes and establish their invertibility in the homotopy category. For three variable…
We introduce super-analogues of the Schur functors defined by Akin, Buchsbaum and Weyman. These {\em Schur superfunctors} may be viewed as characteristic-free analogues of the finite dimensional atypical irreducible modules over the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$ studied by Berele and Regev. Our construction realizes Schur superfunctors as objects of a certain category of strict polynomial superfunctors. We show that Schur superfunctors are indecomposable objects of this category. Another aim is to provide a decomposition of {\em Schur bisuperfunctors} in terms of tensor products of Sch…
By a generalized Tannaka-Krein reconstruction we associate to the admissible representations of the category O of a Kac-Moody algebra, and its category of admissible duals a monoid with a coordinate ring. The Kac-Moody group is the Zariski open dense unit group of this monoid. The restriction of the coordinate ring to the Kac-Moody group is the algebra of strongly regular functions introduced by Kac and Peterson. This monoid has similar structural properties as a reductive algebraic monoid. In particular it is unit regular, its idempotents related to the faces of the Tits cone. It has Bruhat a…
We consider analogues of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand resolution in a highest weight category $\mathscr{P}$. We prove the resulting category of complexes is a chain-level lift of the heart of the constructible $t$-structure on its bounded derived category $D^b(\mathscr{P})$. In particular, an object admits a Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand resolution if and only if a certain $\operatorname{Ext}$ vanishing with costandard objects holds. These results appear to be new even for Category $\mathscr{O}$.
The Lie algebra $gl(V)$ is the Lie algebra of all endomorphisms of a countable-dimensional complex vector space $V$. We define a tensor category of topological representations of the Lie algebra $gl(V)$, so that $V$, its dual and the adjoint representation $gl(V)$ are objects of this category. This makes it an analogue of the category of finite-dimensional modules over the finite-dimensional Lie algebra $gl(n)$. Our main result is that this category is antiequivalent as a symmetric monoidal category to the category of tensor representations of the Lie algebra of finitary infinite matrices.
We study an analogue of the Achar-Riche "mixed modular derived category" for moment graphs. In particular, given a Coxeter group $W$ and a reflection faithful representation $\mathfrak{h}$, we introduce a category that plays the role of Schubert-stratified mixed modular perverse sheaves on "the flag variety associated to $(W, \mathfrak{h})$." We show that this Soergel-theoretic generalization of graded category $\mathcal{O}$ is graded highest weight.
Let $K$ be a field and $G$ be a group of its automorphisms. If $G$ is precompact then $K$ is a generator of the category of smooth (i.e. with open stabilizers) $K$-semilinear representations of $G$. There are non-semisimple smooth semilinear representations of $G$ over $K$ if $G$ is not precompact. In this note the smooth semilinear representations of the group $G$ of all permutations of an infinite set $S$ are studied. Let $k$ be a field and $k(S)$ be the field freely generated over $k$ by the set $S$ (endowed with the natural $G$-action). One of principal results describes the Gabriel spectr…
As it is known, finitely presented quivers correspond to Dynkin graphs (Gabriel, 1972) and tame quivers -- to extended Dynkin graphs (Donovan and Freislich, Nazarova, 1973). In the article "Locally scalar reresentations of graphs in the category of Hilbers spaces" (Func. Anal. and Appl., 2005) authors showed the way to tranfer these results to Hilbert spaces, constructed Coxeter functors and proved an analogue of Gabriel theorem fol locally scalar (orthoscalar in the sequel) representations (up to the unitary equivalence). The category of orthoscalar representations of a quiver can be consider…
This paper extends the Birman-Wenzl category by including a spin representation and then developing the recoupling theory, following Cvitanovic. In particular this gives a q-analogue of the chromatic evaluation of a spin network. The recoupling theory is developed up to an evaluation of the q-analogues of the Fierz coefficients.
Auslander and Bridger introduced the notions of n-spherical modules and n-torsionfree modules. In this paper, we construct an equivalence between the stable category of n-spherical modules and the category of modules of grade at least n, and provide its Gorenstein analogue. As an application, we prove that if R is a Gorenstein local ring of Krull dimension d>0, then there exists a stable equivalence between the category of (d-1)-torsionfree R-modules and the category of d-spherical modules relative to the local cohomology functor.
The main result of this paper establishes a bijection between the set of equivalence classes of simple transitive $2$-representations with a fixed apex $\mathcal{J}$ of a fiat $2$-category $\cC$ and the set of equivalence classes of faithful simple transitive $2$-representations of the fiat $2$-subquotient of $\cC$ associated with a diagonal $\mathcal{H}$-cell in $\mathcal{J}$. As an application, we classify simple transitive $2$-representations of various categories of Soergel bimodules, in particular, completing the classification in types $B_3$ and $B_4$.
We construct from a finitary exact category with duality a module over its Hall algebra, called the Hall module, encoding the first order self-dual extension structure of the category. We study in detail Hall modules arising from the representation theory of a quiver with involution. In this case we show that the Hall module is naturally a module over the specialized reduced sigma-analogue of the quantum Kac-Moody algebra attached to the quiver. For finite type quivers, we explicitly determine the decomposition of the Hall module into irreducible highest weight modules.
In this paper, as an analogue of the spectrum of a tensor triangulated category introduced by Balmer, we define a spectrum of a triangulated category which does not necessarily admit a tensor structure. We apply it for some triangulated categories associated to a commutative noetherian ring.
We study the representation theory of the invariant subalgebra of the Weyl algebra under a torus action, which we call a "hypertoric enveloping algebra." We define an analogue of BGG category O for this algebra, and identify it with a certain category of sheaves on a hypertoric variety. We prove that a regular block of this category is highest weight and Koszul, identify its Koszul dual, compute its center, and study its cell structure. We also consider a collection of derived auto-equivalences analogous to the shuffling and twisting functors for BGG category O.
Conformal algebras, recently introduced by Kac, encode an axiomatic description of the singular part of the operator product expansion in conformal field theory. The objective of this paper is to develop the theory of ``multi-dimensional'' analogues of conformal algebras. They are defined as Lie algebras in a certain ``pseudotensor'' category instead of the category of vector spaces. A pseudotensor category (as introduced by Lambek, and by Beilinson and Drinfeld) is a category equipped with ``polylinear maps'' and a way to compose them. This allows for the definition of Lie algebras, represent…
We construct Quantum Representation Theory which describes quantum analogue of representations in frame of "non-commutative linear geometry" developed by Manin. To do it we generalise the internal hom-functor to the case of adjunction with a parameter and construct a general approach to representations of a monoid in a symmetric monoidal category with a parameter subcategory. Quantum Representation Theory is obtained by application of this approach to a monoidal category of some class of graded algebras with Manin product, where the parameter subcategory consists of connected finitely generate…
