In this paper, we give the definability of bilinear singular and fractional integral operators on Morrey-Banach space, as well as their commutators and we prove the boundedness of such operators on Morrey-Banach spaces. Moreover, the necessary condition for BMO via the bounedness of bilinear commutators on Morrey-Banach space is also given. As a application of our main results, we get the necessary conditions for BMO via the bounedness of bilinear integral operators on weighted Morrey space and Morrey space with variable exponents. Finally, we obtain the boundedness of bilinear C-Z operator on Morrey space with variable exponents.
The boundedness of the bilinear fractional integral operator is investigated. This bilinear fractional integral operator goes back to Kenig and Stein. This paper is oriented to the boundedness of this operator on products of Morrey spaces. Compared to the earlier work by He and Yan, the local integrability condition of the domain is expanded. The local integrability condition can be relaxed with the help of the averaging technique.
In this paper, we define for the first time the local Morrey-type space associated with ball quasi-Banach function spaces and show the related series of properties. In addition, Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator's boundedness is proved. We investigate nonsmooth decomposition of the local Morrey-type space associated with ball quasi-Banach function spaces via the Hardy local Morrey-type spaces associated with ball quasi-Banach function spaces. And we consider Hardy operator's boundedness.
This paper is a follow up of [6]. We investigate the boundedness of the bilinear fractional integral operator introduced by Grafakos in [3]. When the local integrability index $s$ falls 1 with weights and $t$ exceeds 1, He and Yan obtained some results on this operator was worked on Morrey spaces earlier in [7]. Later in the paper [6], we considered the case $t=1$. This paper handles the remaining case $0<t<1$.
An RD-space $\mathcal{X}$ is a space of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss with the additional property that a reverse doubling property holds in $\mathcal{X}$. In this setting, the authors establish the boundedness of bilinear $θ$-type Calderón-Zygmund operator $T_θ$ and its commutator $[b_1,b_2,T_θ]$ generated by the function $b_1,b_2\in BMO(μ)$ and $T_θ$ on generalized weighted Morrey space $\mathcal{M}^{p,ϕ}(ω)$ and generalized weighted weak Morrey space $W\mathcal{M}^{p,ϕ}(ω)$ over RD-spaces.
Denote by $T$ and $I_α$ the bilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators and bilinear fractional integrals, respectively. In this paper, it is proved that if $b_{1},b_{2}\in {\rm CMO}$ (the {\rm BMO}-closure of $C^{\infty}_{c}(\mathbb{R}^n)$), $[Π\vec{b},T]$ and $[Π\vec{b},I_α]$ $(\vec{b}=(b_{1},b_{2}))$ are all the compact operators from $\mathcal{M}^{p_{0}}_{\vec{P}}$ (the norm of $\mathcal{M}^{p_{0}}_{\vec{P}}$ is strictly smaller than $2-$fold product of the Morrey norms) to $M^{q_{0}}_{q}$ for some suitable indexes $p_{0},p_{1},p_{2}$ and $q_{0},q$. Specially, we also show that if $b_{1}=b_{2}$, t…
In this article, the authors study the interpolation of Morrey-Campanato spaces and some smoothness spaces based on Morrey spaces, e.\,g., Besov-type and Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces. Various interpolation methods, including the complex method, the $\pm$-method and the Peetre-Gagliardo method, are studied in such a framework. Special emphasize is given to the quasi-Banach case and to the interpolation property.
Let $BV_p[0,1]$, $1\le p<\infty$, be the Banach algebra of functions of bounded $p$-variation in the sense of Wiener. Recently, Kowalczyk and Turowska \cite{KT19} proved that the multiplication in $BV_1[0,1]$ is an open bilinear mapping. We extend this result for all values of $p\in[1,\infty)$.
We study Hahn-Banach extensions of multilinear forms defined on Banach sequence spaces. We characterize $c_0$ in terms of extension of bilinear forms, and describe the Banach sequence spaces in which every bilinear form admits extensions to any superspace.
We study the smoothness and the norm attainment of bounded bilinear operators between Banach spaces, using the concepts of Birkhoff-James orthogonality and semi-inner-products. In the finite-dimensional case, we characterize Birkhoff-James orthogonality of bilinear operators in terms of the norm attainment set. This yields a nice characterization of smoothness of bilinear operators between Banach spaces, in the finite-dimensional case. Without any restriction on the dimension of the space, we obtain a complete characterization of the norm attainment set of a bounded bilinear operator using sem…
In this article, we show constructively that Morrey spaces are not uniformly non-$\ell^1_n$ for any $n\ge 2$. This result is sharper than those previously obtained in \cite{GKSS, MG}, which show that Morrey spaces are not uniformly non-square and also not uniformly non-octahedral. We also discuss the $n$-th James constant $C_{\rm J}^{(n)}(X)$ and the $n$-th Von Neumann-Jordan constant $C_{\rm NJ}^{(n)}(X)$ for a Banach space $X$, and obtain that both constants for any Morrey space $\mathcal{M}^p_q(\mathbb{R}^d)$ with $1\le p<q<\infty$ are equal to $n$.
In this article, we investigate the boundedness of the bilinear Bochner-Riesz means $S^{α}$ in the non-Banach triangle case. We improve the corresponding results in [Bern] in two aspects: Our partition of the non-Banach triangle is simpler and we obtain lower smoothness indices $α(p_{1},p_{2})$ for various cases apart from $1 \leq p_1=p_2 <2$.
Let $A$ be a unital Banach $\star$-algebra with unity $1$, $X$ be a Banach space and $ϕ: A \times A \to X$ be a continuous bilinear map. We characterize the structure of $ϕ$ where it satisfies any of the following properties: $$a,b \in A, \,\,\, a b^\star = z \, \,(a^\star b=z)\Rightarrow ϕ( a , b^\star ) = ϕ( z, 1 ) \, \, (ϕ( a^\star , b) = ϕ( z, 1 ));$$ $$a,b \in A, \,\,\, a b^\star = z \, \, (a^\star b=z)\Rightarrow ϕ( a , b^\star ) = ϕ( 1, z ) \, \, (ϕ( a^\star , b) = ϕ( 1, z )),$$ where $z\in A$ is fixed.
In this article, the authors completely answer an open question, presented in [Banach J. Math. Anal. 15 (2021), no. 1, 20], via showing that the Riesz--Morrey space is truly a new space larger than a particular Lebesgue space with critical index. Indeed, this Lebesgue space is just the real interpolation space of the Riesz--Morrey space for suitable indices. Moreover, the authors further show the aforementioned inclusion is also proper, namely, this embedding is sharp in some sense, via constructing two nontrivial spare functions, respectively, on $\mathbb{R}^n$ and any given cube $Q_0$ of $\m…
Assume that $A$, $B$ are Banach algebras and $m:A\times B\to B$, $m^\prime:A\times A\to B$ are bounded bilinear mappings. We will study the relation between Arens regularities of $m$, $m^\prime$ and the Banach algebras $A$, $B$. For Banach $A-bimodule$ $B$, we show that $B$ factors with respect to $A$ if and only if $B^{**}$ is an unital $A^{**}-module$, and we define locally topological center for elements of $A^{**}$ and will show that when locally topological center of mixed unit of $A^{**}$ is $B^{**}$, then $B^*$ factors on both sides with respect to $A$ if and only if $B^{**}$ has a unit…
Let $X$ be a Banach space and let $κ(X)$ denote the kernel of a quotient map $\ell_1(Γ)\to X$. We show that $\Ext^2(X,X^*)=0$ if and only if bilinear forms on $κ(X)$ extend to $\ell_1(Γ)$. From that we obtain i) If $κ(X)$ is a $\mathcal L_1$-space then $\Ext^2(X,X^*)=0$; ii) If $X$ is separable, $κ(X)$ is not an $\mathcal L_1$ space and $\Ext^2(X,X^*)=0$ then $κ(X)$ has an unconditional basis. This provides new insight into a question of Palamodov in the category of Banach spaces.
We study the dynamics induced by an $m$-linear operator. We answer a question of Bès and Conejero showing an example of an $m$-linear hypercyclic operator acting on a Banach space. Moreover we prove the existence of $m$-linear hypercyclic operators on arbitrary infinite dimensional separable Banach spaces. We also prove an existence result about symmetric bihypercyclic bilinear operators, answering a question by Grosse-Erdman and Kim.
Let $L$ be a homogeneous divergence form higher order elliptic operator with complex bounded measurable coefficients on $\mathbb{R}^n$ and $X$ a ball quasi-Banach function space on $\mathbb{R}^n$ satisfying some mild assumptions. Denote by $H_{X,\, L}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ the Hardy space, associated with both $L$ and $X$, which is defined via the Lusin area function related to the semigroup generated by $L$. In this article, the authors establish both the maximal function and the Riesz transform characterizations of $H_{X,\, L}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. The results obtained in this article have a wide range o…
We prove that the class of trilinear multiplier forms with singularity over a one dimensional subspace, including the bilinear Hilbert transform, admit bounded $L^p$-extension to triples of intermediate $\mathrm{UMD}$ spaces. No other assumption, for instance of Rademacher maximal function type, is made on the triple of $\mathrm{UMD}$ spaces. Among the novelties in our analysis is an extension of the phase-space projection technique to the $\mathrm{UMD}$-valued setting. This is then employed to obtain appropriate single tree estimates by appealing to the $\mathrm{UMD}$-valued bound for bilinea…
The generalized Morrey space was defined independetly by T. Mizuhara 1991 and E. Nakai in 1994. Generalized Morrey space ${\mathcal M}_{p,ϕ}({\mathbb R}^n)$ is equipped with a parameter $0<p<\infty$ and a function $ϕ:{\mathbb R}^n \times (0,\infty) \to (0,\infty)$. Our experience shows that ${\mathcal M}_{p,ϕ}({\mathbb R}^n)$ is easy to handle when $1<p<\infty$. However, when $0<p \le 1$, the function space ${\mathcal M}_{p,ϕ}({\mathbb R}^n)$ is difficult to handle as many examples show. The aim of this paper is twofold. One of them is to propose a way to deal with ${\mathcal M}_{p,ϕ}({\mathbb…
We study the norm derivatives in the context of Birkhoff-James orthogonality in real Banach spaces. As an application of this, we obtain a complete characterization of the left-symmetric points and the right-symmetric points in a real Banach space in terms of the norm derivatives. We obtain a complete characterization of strong Birkhoff-James orthogonality in $\ell_1^n$ and $\ell_\infty^n$ spaces. We also obtain a complete characterization of the orthogonality relation defined by the norm derivatives in terms of some newly introduced variation of Birkhoff-James orthogonality. We further study …
We prove $L^p$-bounds for the bilinear Hilbert transform acting on functions valued in intermediate UMD spaces. Such bounds were previously unknown for UMD spaces that are not Banach lattices. Our proof relies on bounds on embeddings from Bochner spaces $L^p(\mathbb{R};X)$ into outer Lebesgue spaces on the time-frequency-scale space $\mathbb{R}^3_+$.
We prove modulation invariant embedding bounds from Bochner spaces $L^p(\mathbb{W};X)$ on the Walsh group to outer-$L^p$ spaces on the Walsh extended phase plane. The Banach space $X$ is assumed to be UMD and sufficiently close to a Hilbert space in an interpolative sense. Our embedding bounds imply $L^p$ bounds and sparse domination for the Banach-valued tritile operator, a discrete model of the Banach-valued bilinear Hilbert transform.
We introduce and analyse the notion of slice continuity between operators on Banach spaces in the setting of the Daugavet property. It is shown that under the slice continuity assumption the Daugavet equation holds for weakly compact operators. As an application we define and characterise the Daugavet property for bilinear maps, and we prove that this allows us to describe some $p$-convexifications of the Daugavet equation for operators on Banach function spaces that have recently been introduced.
We study the bilinear Weyl product acting on quasi-Banach modulation spaces. We find sufficient conditions for continuity of the Weyl product and we derive necessary conditions. The results extend known results for Banach modulation spaces.
We show that a continuous bilinear mapping P: C(I) \times C(I) \to C(I) can be presented in the form P(f,g) = B((Af)(Ag)), where A and B are bounded linear operators on C(I) and multiplication is defined pointwise, if and only if for all t in I the bilinear form (f,g) -> P(f,g)(t) is integral on C(I) times C(I) and depends in a sense continuously on t. To this end we construct a continuous surjection phi : I \to I^2 admitting a regular averaging operator in the sense of Pelczynski.
The paper deals with extension of bounded bilinear maps$.$ It gives a necessary and sufficient condition for extending a bounded bilinear map on the Cartesian product of subspaces of Banach spaces$.$ This leads to a full characterization for extension of bounded bilinear maps on the Cartesian product of arbitrary subspaces of Hilbert spaces$.$ Applications concerning projective tensor products are also investigated.
We study different aspects of the connections between local theory of Banach spaces and the problem of the extension of bilinear forms from subspaces of Banach spaces. Among other results, we prove that if $X$ is not a Hilbert space then one may find a subspace of $X$ for which there is no Aron-Berner extension. We also obtain that the extension of bilinear forms from all the subspaces of a given $X$ forces such $X$ to contain no uniform copies of $\ell_p^n$ for $p\in[1,2)$. In particular, $X$ must have type $2-ε$ for every $ε>0$. Also, we show that the bilinear version of the Lindenstrauss-Pe…
We investigate the stability of compactness of bilinear operators acting on the product of interpolation of Banach spaces. We develop a general framework for such results and our method applies to abstract methods of interpolation in the senseof Aronszajn and Gagliardo. A key step is to show an one-sided bilinear interpolation theorem on compactness for bilinear operators on couples satisfying an approximation property. We show applications to general cases, including Peetre's method and the general real interpolation methods.
In this paper we prove an abstract homomorphism theorem for bilinear multipliers in the setting of locally compact Abelian (LCA) groups. We also provide some applications. In particular, we obtain a bilinear abstract version of K. de Leeuw's theorem for bilinear multipliers of strong and weak type. We also obtain necessary conditions on bilinear multipliers on non-compact LCA groups, yielding boundedness for the corresponding operators on products of rearrangement invariant spaces. Our investigations extend some existing results in Euclidean spaces to the framework of general LCA groups, and y…
Let $X$ be a ball quasi-Banach function space on ${\mathbb R}^n$. In this article, the authors introduce the weak Hardy-type space $WH_X({\mathbb R}^n)$, associated with $X$, via the radial maximal function. Assuming that the powered Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator satisfies some Fefferman--Stein vector-valued maximal inequality on $X$ as well as it is bounded on both the weak ball quasi-Banach function space $WX$ and the associated space, the authors then establish several real-variable characterizations of $WH_X({\mathbb R}^n)$, respectively, in terms of various maximal functions, atoms a…
We analyze a definition of product of Banach spaces that is naturally associated by duality with an abstract notion of space of multiplication operators. This dual relation allows to understand several constructions coming from different fields of the functional analysis, that can be seen as instances of the abstract one when a particular product is considered. Some relevant examples and applications are shown.
The behavior of bilinear operators acting on interpolation of Banach spaces for the $ρ$ method in relation to the compactness is analyzed. Similar results of Lions-Peetre, Hayakawa and Person's compactness theorems are obtained for the bilinear case and the $ρ$ method.
In this paper we discuss symmetrically self-dual spaces, which are simply real vector spaces with a symmetric bilinear form. Certain subsets of the space will be called q-positive, where q is the quadratic form induced by the original bilinear form. The notion of q-positivity generalizes the classical notion of the monotonicity of a subset of a product of a Banach space and its dual. Maximal q-positivity then generalizes maximal monotonicity. We discuss concepts generalizing the representations of monotone sets by convex functions, as well as the number of maximally q-positive extensions of a …
The paper is concerned with compact bilinear operators on asymmetric normed spaces. The study of multilinear operators on asymmetric normed spaces was initiated by Latreche and Dahia, Colloq. Math. (2020). We go further in this direction and prove a Schauder type theorem on the compactness of the adjoint of a compact bilinear operator and study the ideal properties of spaces of compact bilinear operators. These extend some results of Ramanujan and Schock, Linear and Multilinear Algebra (1985), and Ruch, ibid. (1989), on compact bilinear operators on Banach spaces. On the space of bilinear form…
Let $X$ be a ball quasi-Banach function space satisfying some minor assumptions. In this article, the authors establish the characterizations of $H_X(\mathbb{R}^n)$, the Hardy space associated with $X$, via the Littlewood--Paley $g$-functions and $g_λ^\ast$-functions. Moreover, the authors obtain the boundedness of Calderón--Zygmund operators on $H_X(\mathbb{R}^n)$. For the local Hardy-type space $h_X(\mathbb{R}^n)$ associated with $X$, the authors also obtain the boundedness of $S^0_{1,0}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ pseudo-differential operators on $h_X(\mathbb{R}^n)$ via first establishing the atomic cha…
We introduce and study multivariate generalizations of the classical BV spaces of Jordan, F. Riesz and Wiener. The family of the introduced spaces contains or is intimately related to a considerable class of function spaces of modern analysis including BMO, BV, Morrey spaces and those of Sobolev of arbitrary smoothness, Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. We prove under mild restrictions that the BV spaces of this family are dual and present constructive characterizations of their preduals via atomic decompositions. Moreover, we show that under additional restrictions such a predual space is is…
Let $X$ be a ball quasi-Banach function space on ${\mathbb R}^n$ and $H_X({\mathbb R}^n)$ the Hardy space associated with $X$, and let $α\in(0,n)$ and $β\in(1,\infty)$. In this article, assuming that the (powered) Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator satisfies the Fefferman--Stein vector-valued maximal inequality on $X$ and is bounded on the associate space of $X$, the authors prove that the fractional integral $I_α$ can be extended to a bounded linear operator from $H_X({\mathbb R}^n)$ to $H_{X^β}({\mathbb R}^n)$ if and only if there exists a positive constant $C$ such that, for any ball $B\sub…
Let $X$ be a ball quasi-Banach function space on ${\mathbb R}^n$. In this article, assuming that the powered Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator satisfies some Fefferman--Stein vector-valued maximal inequality on $X$ and is bounded on the associated space, the authors establish various Littlewood--Paley function characterizations of the Hardy space $H_X({\mathbb R}^n)$ associated with $X$, under some weak assumptions on the Littlewood--Paley functions. To this end, the authors also establish a useful estimate on the change of angles in tent spaces associated with $X$. All these results have wid…
Let $X$ be a ball quasi-Banach function space on ${\mathbb R}^n$. In this article, assuming that the powered Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator satisfies some Fefferman--Stein vector-valued maximal inequality on $X$ as well as it is bounded on both the weak ball quasi-Banach function space $WX$ and the associated space, the authors establish various Littlewood--Paley function characterizations of $WH_X({\mathbb R}^n)$ under some weak assumptions on the Littlewood--Paley functions. The authors also prove that the real interpolation intermediate space $(H_{X}({\mathbb R}^n),L^\infty({\mathbb R}^…

Recently, there has been emerging interest in constructing reproducing kernel Banach spaces (RKBS) for applied and theoretical purposes such as machine learning, sampling reconstruction, sparse approximation and functional analysis. Existing constructions include the reflexive RKBS via a bilinear form, the semi-inner-product RKBS, the RKBS with $\ell^1$ norm, the $p$-norm RKBS via generalized Mercer kernels, etc. The definitions of RKBS and the associated reproducing kernel in those references are dependent on the construction. Moreover, relations among those constructions are unclear. We expl…
Let $X$ be a complex Banach space and $x,y\in X$. By definition, we say that $x$ is Birkhoff-James orthogonal to $y$ if $ \|x+λy\|_{X} \geq \|x\|_{X}$ for all $λ\in \mathbb{C}$. We prove that $x$ is Birkhoff-James orthogonal to $y$ if and only if there exists a semi-inner product $φ$ on $X$ such that $\|φ\| = 1$, $φ(x,x)=\|x\|^2$ and $φ(x,y)=0$. A similar result holds for $C^*$-algebras. A key point in our approach to orthogonality is the representations of bounded bilinear maps via projective tensor product spaces.
We develop a general theory of multilinear singular integrals with operator-valued kernels, acting on tuples of UMD Banach spaces. This, in particular, involves investigating multilinear variants of the $\mathcal R$-boundedness condition naturally arising in operator-valued theory. We proceed by establishing a suitable representation of multilinear, operator-valued singular integrals in terms of operator-valued dyadic shifts and paraproducts, and studying the boundedness of these model operators via dyadic-probabilistic Banach space-valued analysis. In the bilinear case, we obtain a $T(1)$-typ…
