Low-energy dipole (LED) excitations in $^{18}$O were investigated using a combination of the variation after $K$-projection in the framework of antisymmetrized molecular dynamics with $β$-constraint with the generator coordinate method. We obtained two LED states, namely, the $1_1^-$ state with a dominant shell-model structure and the $1_2^-$ state with a large $^{14}\textrm{C}+α$ cluster component. Both these states had significant toroidal dipole (TD) and compressive dipole (CD) strengths, indicating that the TD and CD modes are not separated but mixed in the LED excitations of $^{18}$O. This is unlike the CD and TD modes for well-deformed nuclei such as $^{10}$Be, where the CD and TD modes are generated as $K^π=0^-$ and $K^π=1^-$ excitations, respectively, in a largely deformed state.
For study of dipole excitations, a new method of variation after $K$-projection in the framework of antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD) with the deformation $β$ constraint was proposed. The method was applied to $^{10}$Be and $^{16}$O to describe low-energy dipole excitations and found to be a useful and economical approach for dipole excitations. In the application to $^{10}$Be, two dipole states in low-energy region were described. For $^{16}$O, the $1_1^-$ and $1_2^-$ states with remarkable dipole strengths were obtained. The $1_1^-$ state is characterized by significant toroidal dipol…
In order to study isovector dipole response of neutron-rich nuclei, we have applied a time-dependent method of antisymmetrized molecular dynamics. The dipole resonances in Be, B and C isotopes have been investigated. In $^{10}$Be, $^{15}$B, $^{16}$C, collective modes of the vibration between a core and valence neutrons cause soft resonances at the excitation energy $E_x=10-15$ MeV below the giant dipole resonance(GDR). In $^{16}$C, we found that a remarkable peak at $E_x=14$ MeV corresponds to coherent motion of four valence neutrons against a $^{12}$C core, while the GDR arises from the core …
Isovector and isoscalar dipole excitations in $^9$Be and $^{10}$Be are investigated in the framework of antisymmetrized molecular dynamics, in which angular-momentum and parity projections are performed. In the present method, 1p-1h excitations on the ground state and large amplitude $α$-cluster mode are incorporated. The isovector giant dipole resonance (GDR) in $E>20$ MeV shows the two peak structure which is understood by the dipole excitation in the 2$α$ core part with the prolate deformation. Because of valence neutron modes against the $2α$ core, low-energy E1 resonances appear in $E<20$…
Low-energy dipole (LED) excitations in $^{20}$O were investigated by variation after $K$-projection of deformation($β$)-constraint antisymmetrized molecular dynamics combined with the generator coordinate method. We obtained two LED states, namely, the $1_1^-$ state with one-proton excitation on the relatively weak deformation and the $1_2^-$ state with a parity asymmetric structure of the normal deformation. The former is characterized by a toroidal dipole (TD) mode with vortical nuclear current, whereas the latter is associated with a low-energy $E1$ mode caused by surface neutron oscillatio…
Excitation spectra and neutron single particle configurations of $^{33}$Mg and $^{31}$Ne are investigated by using antisymmetrized molecular dynamics combined with generator coordinate method. It is shown that both nuclei have strongly deformed $3/2^-$ ground state with a $3p2h$ configuration. The excitation spectra are qualitatively understood in terms of the Nilsson model and the calculation has shown the coexistence of different intruder configurations within small excitation energy. The calculated one neutron separation energy of $^{31}$Ne is rather small ($S_n=250$ keV) and implies a p-wa…
The cluster states in $^{13}{\rm C}$ are investigated by antisymmetrized molecular dynamics. By investigating the spectroscopic factors, the cluster configurations of the excited states are discussed. It is found that the $1/2^+_2$ state is dominantly composed of the $^{12}{\rm C}(0^+_2)\otimes s_{1/2}$ configuration and can be regarded as a Hoyle analogue state. On the other hand, the p-wave states ($3/2^-$ and $1/2^-$) do not have such structure, because of the coupling with other configurations. The isoscalar monopole and dipole transition strengths from the ground to the excited states are…
$ΛN$ spin-spin and spin-orbit splittings in low-lying excitation spectra are investigated for $p$-shell $Λ$ hypernuclei on the basis of the microscopic structure calculation within the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics, where the $ΛN$ $G$-matrix interaction derived from the baryon-baryon interaction model ESC (extended soft core) is used. It is found that the ground-state spin-parity is systematically reproduced in the $p$-shell $Λ$ hypernuclei by tuning the $ΛN$ spin-spin and spin-orbit interactions so as to reproduce the experimental data of $^{4}_Λ$H, $^{7}_Λ$Li and $^9_Λ$Be. Furthermore, …
Structures of light unstable nuclei, Li, Be, B, and C isotopes are systematically studied with a microscopic method of antisymmetrized molecular dynamics. The theoretical method is found to be very useful to study ground and excited states of various nuclei covering unstable nuclei. The calculations succeed to reproduce many experimental data for nuclear structures; energies, radii, magnetic dipole moments, electric quadrupole moments, transition strength. In the theoretical results it is found that various exotic phenomena in unstable nuclei such as molecular-like structures, neutron skin, an…
To investigate $pn$ pair correlations in $N=Z=\textrm{odd}$ nuclei, we develop a new framework based on the generator coordinate method of the $βγ$ constraint antisymmetrized molecular dynamics. In the framework, the isospin projection is performed before the energy variation to obtain the wave function optimized for each isospin. We apply the method to ${}^{10} \textrm{B}$ and show that it works well to describe coexistence of $T=0$ and $T=1$ states in low-energy spectra. Structures of low-lying states and $pn$ correlations are investigated. Strong $M1$($0^+_1\rightarrow 1^+_1$) and $E2$($1^+…

We treat the tensor correlation in antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD) including large-relative-momentum components among nucleon pairs for finite nuclei. The tensor correlation is described by using large imaginary centroid vectors of Gaussian wave packets for nucleon pairs with opposite directions, which makes a large relative momentum. We superpose the AMD basis states, in which one nucleon pair has various relative momenta for all directions; this new method is called "high-momentum AMD" (HM-AMD). We show the results for $^4$He using the effective interaction having a strong tensor fo…

Deformed states in $^{40}$Ca are investigated with a method of antisymmetrized molecular dynamics. Above the spherical ground state, rotational bands arise from a normal deformation and a superdeformation as well as an oblate deformation. The calculated energy spectra and $E2$ transition strengths in the superdeformed band reasonably agree to the experimental data of the superdeformed band starting from the $0^+_3$ state at 5.213 MeV. By the analysis of single-particle orbits, it is found that the superdeformed state has particle-hole nature of an $8p$-$8h$ configuration. One of new findings i…
We investigated cluster correlation and nuclear voricity in low-lying $1^-$ states of $^{24}$Mg within antisymmetrized molecular dynamics framework. We found that the toroidal and compressional dipole modes separately appear as the $K=1$ and $K=0$ states. The $1^-$ ($K=1$) state is the toroidal dipole state with the strong nuclear vorticity but no prominent cluster structure, and the $1^-$ ($K=0$) state is the compressional dipole state having enhanced cluster structure but has the weaker vorticity.
Isoscalar (IS) monopole and dipole excitations in $^{16}$O were investigated by the method of shifted basis antisymmetrized molecular dynamics combined with the generator coordinate method. Significant strengths of the IS monopole and dipole transitions were obtained in the low-energy region below the giant resonances. In addition to the compressive mode, which mainly contributes to the high-energy strengths for the IS dipole giant resonance, we obtained a variety of low-energy dipole modes such as the vortical dipole mode in the $1^-_1$ state of the vibrating tetrahedral $4α$ and the $^{12}$C…
The low-lying spectra of $^{24,25,26}{\rm Ne}$ and the structure of the pygmy dipole resonance (PDR) in $^{26}{\rm Ne}$ have been theoretically studied by the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD) and its extended version called shifted-basis AMD. The calculated energy and strength of the PDR reasonably agree with the observation, and the analysis of the wave function shows that the PDR is dominated by neutron excitation coupled to the quadrupole excited core nucleus $^{25}{\rm Ne}$, which explains the observed unexpected decay of PDR to the excited states of $^{25}{\rm Ne}$. The large isos…
We present a review of recent works on clustering phenomena in unstable nuclei studied by antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD). The AMD studies in these decades have uncovered novel types of clustering phenomena brought about by the excess neutrons. Among them, this review focuses on the molecule-like structure of unstable nuclei. One of the earliest discussions on the clustering in unstable nuclei was made for neutron-rich Be and B isotopes. AMD calculations predicted that the ground state clustering is enhanced or reduced depending on the number of excess neutrons. Today, the experiments…
We investigated cluster and toroidal aspects of isoscalar dipole excitations in $^{12}$C based on the shifted basis antisymmetrized molecular dynamics combined with the generator coordinate method, which can describes 1p-1h excitations and $3α$ dynamics. In the $E=10-15$ MeV region, we found two low-energy dipole modes separating from the giant dipole resonance. One is the developed $3α$-cluster state and the other is the toroidal dipole mode. The cluster state is characterized by the large amplitude cluster motion beyond the 1p-1h model space, whereas the toroidal dipole mode is predominantly…
We studied dipole excitations in $^{10}$Be based on an extended version of the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics, which can describe 1p-1h excitations and large amplitude cluster modes. Toroidal and compressive dipole operators are found to be good proves to separate the low-energy and high-energy parts of the isoscalar dipole excitations, respectively. Two low-energy $1^-$ states, the toroidal dominant $1^-_1$ state at $E\sim 8$ MeV and the $E1$ dominant $1^-_2$ state at $E\sim 16$ MeV, were obtained. By analysis of transition current densities, the $1^-_1$ states is understood as a toroidal…
On the basis of an extended antisymmetrized molecular dynamics calculation, we study the cluster structure and the of the 0+ and 1- states of 18O. We discuss that several different kinds of cluster states appear in the excitation spectrum, and their monopole and dipole transitions are interesting fingerprints of unique cluster structure. We show that the monopole/dipole transitions are enhanced for the 14C+alpha cluster states, while they are hindered for the molecular-orbit state. We also point out that the ratio of the electric and isoscalar monopole transition strengths gives a good hint fo…
Low-energy dipole excitations in ${}^{10}$Be were investigated based on the generator coordinate method with $α+ {}^6$He and $α+ α+ 2n$ cluster models. We obtained three $1^-$ states in $E_{x} < 15$~MeV, which show different characters in the $E1$, compressive dipole, and toroidal dipole transition strengths. We found the strong toroidal dipole transition in the $1_1^-$ state, remarkable $E1$ strength in the $1^-_2$ state, and the strong $E1$ and compressive dipole strength in the $1^-_3$ state. The $1^-_1$ is described by the $α+ {}^6$He cluster structure, where as the $1^-_2$ and $1^-_3$ sta…
A closed expression is obtained for the cross-section for Coulomb excitation of levels of the giant dipole resonance of given angular momentum and phonon number. Applications are made to the Goldhaber-Teller and Steinwedel-Jensen descriptions of the resonance, at non-relativistic and relativistic bombarding energies.
Double-dipole excitations in ^{208}Pb are analyzed within a microscopic model explicitly treating 2p2h-excitations. Collective states built from such 2p2h-excitations are shown to appear at about twice the energy of the isovector giant dipole resonance, in agreement with the experimental findings. The calculated cross section for Coulomb excitation at relativistic energies cannot explain simultaneously the measured single-dipole and double-dipole cross sections, however.
The excitation of the giant dipole resonance by fusion is studied with N/Z asymmetry in the entrance channel. the TDHF solution exhibits a strong dipole vibration which can be associated with a giant vibration along the main axis of a fluctuating prolate shape. The consequences on the gamma-ray emission from hot compound nuclei are discussed.
The effect of deformation on the excitation of multiple giant dipole resonances is studied. Analytical expressions are derived in the framework of the interacting boson model for the energies and E1 properties of giant dipole resonances in spherical and deformed nuclei, and a numerical treatment of transitional nuclei is proposed. Coulomb-excitation cross sections are calculated in $^{238}$U and in the samarium isotopes.
The effects of ground-state correlations on the magnetic dipole excitations in $^{40}$Ca are studied using an extended random phase approximation (ERPA) derived from the time-dependent density-matrix theory. Comparison is made with other extended RPA approaches, the renormalized RPA, the self-consistent RPA and the extended second RPA which also include the effects of ground-state correlations. It is pointed out that direct excitations from two particle - two hole space which are properly treated in ERPA cause strong magnetic dipole transitions in $^{40}$Ca.
The role of anharmonic effects on the excitation of the double giant dipole resonance is investigated in a simple macroscopic model.Perturbation theory is used to find energies and wave functions of the anharmonic ascillator. The cross sections for the electromagnetic excitation of the one- and two-phonon giant dipole resonances in energetic heavy-ion collisions are then evaluated through a semiclassical coupled-channel calculation. It is argued that the variations of the strength of the anharmonic potential should be combined with appropriate changes in the oscillator frequency,in order to keep…
The low-lying level structure of $^{31}{\rm Mg}$ has been investigated by the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD) plus generator coordinate method (GCM) with the Gogny D1S force. It is shown that the N=20 magic number is broken and the ground state has the pure neutron $2p3h$ configuration. The coexistence of many particle and many hole states at very low excitation energy is discussed.
A semiclassical description of multiple giant resonance excitation and decay that incorporates incoherent fluctuation contributions of the Brink-Axel type is developed. Numerical calculations show that the incoherent contributions are important at low to intermediate bombarding energies.
The low-lying structure of $^{10}_Λ$Be and $^{11}_Λ$Be are investigated within the framework of the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics. We focus on the modifications of the excitation spectra and dynamical changes of the 2$α$ cluster structure caused by a $Λ$ particle as an impurity in these hypernuclei. It is found that the excitation energies of well-pronounced cluster states are largely shifted up by the addition of a $Λ$ particle. Furthermore, we also find that the 2$α$ cluster structure is significantly changed in the excited states, whereas it is almost unchanged in the ground states.
The excitation of the isovector giant dipole resonance (GDR) by alpha scattering is investigated as a method of probing the neutron excess in exotic nuclei. DWBA calculations are presented for 28O and 70Ca and the interplay of Coulomb and nuclear excitation is discussed. Since the magnitude of the Coulomb excitation amplitude is strongly influenced by the Q-value, the neutron excess plays an important role, as it tends to lower the energy of the GDR. The excitation of the compressional isoscalar dipole state in 70Ca by alpha scattering is also investigated. It is shown that the population of t…
Low-energy dipole excitations have been investigated theoretically in N=50, several N=82 isotones and the Z=50 Sn isotopes. For this purpose a method incorporating both HFB and multi-phonon QPM theory is applied. A concentration of one-phonon dipole strength located below the neutron emission threshold has been calculated in these nuclei. The analysis of the corresponding neutron and proton dipole transition densities allows to assign a genuine pattern to the low-energy excitations and making them distinct from the conventional GDR modes. Analyzing also the QRPA wave functions of the states we…
The effects of ground-state correlations on the dipole and quadrupole excitations are studied for $^{40}$Ca and $^{48}$Ca using the extended random phase approximation (ERPA) derived from the time-dependent density-matrix theory. Large effects of the ground-state correlations are found in the fragmentation of the giant quadrupole resonance in $^{40}$Ca and in the low-lying dipole strength in $^{48}$Ca. It is discussed that the former is due to a mixing of different configurations in the ground state and the latter is from the partial occupation of the neutron single-particle states. The dipole…
We argue that a substantial increase in the cross section for Coulomb excitation in the region of the Double Giant Dipole Resonance should be expected from Coulomb excitation of excited states involved in the spreading of the one-phonon resonance, in a manifestation of the Brink-Axel phenomenon. This generates an additional fluctuating amplitude and a corresponding new term to be added incoherently to the usual cross-section. The appropriate extension of an applicable reaction calculation is considered in order to estimate this effect.
The electric dipole excitation of various nuclei is calculated with a Random Phase Approximation phenomenological approach. The evolution of the strength distribution in various groups of isotopes, oxygen, calcium, zirconium and tin, is studied. The neutron excess produces $E1$ strength in the low energy region. Indexes to measure the collectivity of the excitation are defined. We studied the behavior of proton and neutron transition densities to determine the isoscalar or isovector nature of the excitation. We observed that in medium-heavy nuclei the low-energy $E1$ excitation has characteris…
Background: The electric giant-dipole resonance (GDR) is the most established collective vibrational mode of excitation. A charge-exchange analog, however, has been poorly studied in comparison with the spin (magnetic) dipole resonance (SDR). Purpose: I investigate the role of deformation on the charge-exchange dipole excitations and explore the generic features as an isovector mode of excitation. Methods: The nuclear energy-density functional method is employed for calculating the response functions based on the Skyrme--Kohn--Sham--Bogoliubov method and the proton-neuton quasiparticle-random-…
We implement the Brink-Axel hypothesis for the excitation of the double giant dipole resonance (DGDR): The background states which couple to the one-phonon giant dipole resonance are themselves capable of dipole absorption. These states (and the ones which couple to the two-phonon resonance) are described in terms of the Gaussian Orthogonal Ensemble of random matrices. We use second-order time-dependent perturbation theory and calculate analytically the ensemble-averaged cross section for excitation of the DGDR. Numerical calculations illuminate the mechanism and the dependence of the cross se…
We study the nature of the low-lying dipole strength in neutron-rich nuclei, often associated to the Pygmy Dipole Resonance. The states are described within the Hartree-Fock plus RPA formalism, using different parametrizations of the Skyrme interaction. We show how the information from combined reactions processes involving the Coulomb and different mixtures of isoscalar and isovector nuclear interactions can provide a clue to reveal the characteristic features of these states.
We construct a three-dimensional analytically soluble model of the nonlinear effects in Coulomb excitation of multiphonon Giant Dipole Resonances (GDR) based on the SU(2,1) algebra. The full 3-dimensional model predicts further enhancement of the Double GDR (DGDR) cross sections at high bombarding energies. Enhancement factors for DGDR measured in thirteen different processes with various projectiles and targets at different bombarding energies are well reproduced with the same value of the nonlinearity parameter with the exception of the anomalous case of $^{136}$Xe which requires a larger va…
Charge exchange spin-dipole (SD) excitations of $^{90}$Zr and $^{208}$Pb are studied by using a Skyrme Hartree-Fock(HF) + Random Phase approximation (RPA). The calculated spin-dipole strength distributions are compared with experimental data obtained by $^{90}$Zr (p,n) $^{90}$Nb and $^{90}$Zr (n,p) $^{90}$ Nb reactions. The model-independent SD sum rule values of various Skyrme interactions are studied in comparison with the experimental values in order to determine the neutron skin thickness of $^{90}$Zr. The pressure of the neutron matter equation of state (EOS) and the nuclear matter symmet…
Low-energy dipole excitations in neon isotopes and N=16 isotones are calculated with a fully consistent axially-symmetric-deformed quasiparticle random phase approximation (QRPA) approach based on Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov (HFB) states. The same Gogny D1S effective force has been used both in HFB and QRPA calculations. The microscopical structure of these low-lying resonances, as well as the behavior of proton and neutron transition densities, are investigated in order to determine the isoscalar or isovector nature of the excitations. It is found that the N=16 isotones 24O, 26Ne, 28Mg, and 30Si …
We study the effect of the spreading widths on the excitation probabilities of the double giant dipole resonance. We solve the coupled-channels equations for the excitation of the giant dipole resonance and the double giant dipole resonance. Taking Pb+Pb collisions as example, we study the resulting effect on the excitation amplitudes, and cross sections as a function of the width of the states and of the bombarding energy.
The neutron pairing correlation and the soft dipole excitation in medium-mass nuclei near drip-line are investigated from a viewpoint of the di-neutron correlation. Numerical analyses by means of the coordinate-space HFB and the continuum QRPA methods are performed for even-even $^{18-24}$O, $^{50-58}$Ca and $^{80-86}$Ni. A clear signature of the di-neutron correlation is found in the HFB ground state; two neutrons are correlated at short relative distances $\lesim 2$ fm with large probability $\sim 50%$. The soft dipole excitation is influenced strongly by the neutron pairing correlation, and…
The quasiparticle time blocking approximation (QTBA) is applied to describe E1 excitations in the even-even tin isotopes. Within the model pairing correlations, two-quasiparticle (2q), and 2q*phonon configurations are included. Thus the QTBA is an extension of the quasiparticle random phase approximation to include quasiparticle-phonon coupling. Calculational formulas are presented in case of neutral excitations in the spherically symmetric system. The main equations are written in the coordinate representation that allows to take into account single-particle continuum completely. The E1 photo…
The charge-exchange spin-dipole (SD) excitations of 208Pb are studied by using a fully self-consistent Skyrme Hartree-Fock plus Random Phase Approximation (HF+RPA) formalism which includes the tensor interaction. It is found, for the first time, that the tensor correlations have a unique, multipole-dependent effect on the SD excitations, that is, they produce softening of 1- states, but hardening of 0- and 2- states. This paves the way to a clear assessment of the strength of the tensor terms. We compare our results with a recent measurement, showing that our choice of tensor terms improves th…
The occurrence of the low-lying charge-exchange non spin-flip dipole modes below the giant resonance in neutron-rich nuclei is predicted on the basis of nuclear density functional theory. The ground and excited states are described in the framework of the self-consistent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov and the proton-neutron quasiparticle-random-phase approximation employing a Skyrme-type energy density functional. The model calculations are performed for the spherical neutron-rich Ca, Ni, and Sn isotopes. It is found that the low-lying states appear sensitively to the shell structure associated with …
We perform three-body model calculations for soft dipole excitations of the proton-rich Borromean nucleus $^{17}$Ne. To this end, we assume that $^{17}$Ne takes the $^{15}$O+p+p structure, in which the two valence protons are excited from the $0^+$ ground state configuration to $1^-$ continuum states. We employ a density-dependent contact force for the nuclear part of the pairing interaction, and discretize the continuum states with the box boundary condition. We show by explicitly including the Coulomb interaction between the valence protons that the Coulomb repulsion does not significantly a…
We investigate the microscopic structure of the low-lying isovector-dipole excitation mode in neutron-rich $^{36,38,40}$Mg close to the drip line by means of the deformed quasiparticle-random-phase-approximation employing the Skyrme and the local pairing energy-density functionals. It is found that the low-lying bump structure above the neutron emission-threshold energy develops when the drip line is approached, and that the isovector dipole strength at $E_{x} < 10$ MeV exhausts about $6.0 %$ of the classical Thomas-Reiche-Kuhn dipole sum rule in $^{40}$Mg. We obtained the collective dipole mo…
A semimicroscopical approach is applied to describe photoabsorption and partial photonucleon reactions accompanied by the excitation of the giant dipole resonance (GDR). The approach is based on the continuum-RPA (CRPA) with a phenomenological description for the spreading effect. The phenomenological isoscalar part of the nuclear mean field, momentum-independent Landau-Migdal particle-hole interaction, and separable momentum-dependent forces are used as input quantities for the CRPA calculations. The experimental photoabsorption and partial $(n,γ)$-reaction cross sections in the vicinity of t…
Electric dipole ($E1$) response of $^{6}$He is studied with a fully microscopic six-body calculation. The wave functions for the ground and excited states are expressed as a superposition of explicitly correlated Gaussians (CG). Final state interactions of three-body decay channels are explicitly taken into account. The ground state properties and the low-energy $E1$ strength are obtained consistently with observations. Two main peaks as well as several small peaks are found in the $E1$ strength function. The peak at the high-energy region indicates a typical macroscopic picture of the giant d…
Exploring new excitation modes and the role of the nuclear clustering has been of great interest. An interesting speculation was made in the recent photoabsorption measurement of $^6$Li that implied the importance of the nuclear clustering. To understand the excitation mechanism of $^6$Li, we perform a fully microscopic six-body calculation on the electric-dipole ($E1$) transitions and discuss how $^6$Li is excited by the $E1$ field as a function of the excitation energy. We show the various cluster components in the six-body wave functions and discuss the role of the nuclear clustering in the…
The effect of nuclear deformation on the isoscalar toroidal and compression dipole modes in prolate $^{170}$Yb is studied in the framework of the random-phase-approximation method with a representative set of Skyrme forces (SV-bas, SLy6, SkM$^*$ and SkI3). It is shown that the deformation crucially redistributes the strength of both modes. The compression mode has the same sequence of $μ$=0 and 1 branches as the isovector giant dipole resonance where for prolate nuclei the $μ=0$ mode is lower in energy ($μ$ being the projection of the axial momentum of the mode). Instead, the toroidal mode exh…
In the present work, the isovector dipole responses, both in the resonance region and in the low-energy sector, are investigated using the microscopic nuclear Energy Density Functionals (EDFs). The self-consistent QRPA model based on Skyrme Hartree Fock BCS approach is applied to study the evolution of the isovector dipole strength by increasing neutron number and temperature. First, the isovector dipole strength and excitation energies are investigated for the Ni isotopic chain at zero temperature. The evolution of the low-energy dipole strength is studied as a function of the neutron number.…
Background: The Anderson-Bogoliubov (AB) phonon, called also the superfluid phonon, has attracted attentions since it may influence the thermal conductivity and other properties of inner crust of neutron stars. However, there are limited number of microscopic studies of the AB phonon where the presence of clusters is explicitly taken into account.\\ Purpose: We intend to clarify how the presence of clusters affects the AB phonon in order to obtain microscopic information relevant to the coupling between the AB phonon and the lattice phonon. \\ Methods: The Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov model and the…
The properties of the low-energy dipole response are investigated for the proton-rich doubly magic nucleus $^{48}$Ni, in a comparative study of two microscopic models: fully self-consistent Relativistic Random-Phase Approximation(RRPA) based on the novel density-dependent meson-exchange interactions, and Continuum Random-Phase Approximation(CRPA) using Skyrme-type interactions with the continuum properly included. Both models predict the existence of the low-energy soft mode, i.e. the proton pygmy dipole resonance (PDR), for which the transition densities and RPA amplitudes indicate the dynami…
Nuclear clustering plays an important role, especially in the dynamics of light nuclei. The importance of the emergence of the nuclear clustering was discussed in the recent measurement of the photoabsorption cross sections as it offered the possibility of the coexistence of various excitation modes which are closely related to the nuclear clustering. To understand the excitation mechanism, we study the electric-dipole ($E1$) responses of $^6$Li with a fully microscopic six-body calculation. The ground-state wave function is accurately described with a superposition of correlated Gaussian (CG)…
